((Iden certainly wouldn't do so well on her own. XD;; ))

"We were kept in Turkey for awhile, is all, and Radu..took up with the sultan's heir." He wrinkled his nose, grimacing. "It wasn't all bad, anyway. My older brother was a far sight better than my younger. Way out of the country, hmm?"

(( My brother and I were drinking this really wierd energy drink called 'Sparks' that has .6% alcohol in it. XD that's odd!

Eeek, no, mebbe not. Well, we'll see how it goes. I really don't want to kill Naraka, as attached to him as I've become, so I'll find some way. I just didn't want to not give other people the chance to do anything. ))

"Urgh, intrigue." Nar laughs a little dryly. Yes, I left Romania a very long time ago and traveled east to India and Tibet. I haven't been back since, but very recently. I never really felt a connection to the place. I guess because everything that ever made me human is long-gone. The place of my birth means little, if anything. There's only a vague sentimentality that I feel should be there but really isn't." He frowns off at the sky and then asks, "The sultan of... Turkey?"

((o.o That is odd!

I'm sure there'd be others interested in helping. Iden's just not terribly capable with those sorts of things XD.))

"Delightful, no?" He grinned. Intrigue was just what he'd grown up with. "I never got that far east, I had too much to worry about closer to home. Aah, sultan of more than that. The sultan of the Ottoman, or Turkish, Empire. The capital was in Turkey, at Edirne."
PostPosted: Tue May 10, 2005 12:32 am

(( I don't know if it would necessarily have to end in bloodshed, but I'm certain it would start that way. Anyhow, I haven't pondered much on it lately. It's on the back burner. ))

"No," he answers shortly. "I couldn't stomach all the betrayal. It sounds... hideously stressful. Anyway, it's not the life I led, while, I suppose, it was yours. Hmmm.... I was a rover. You had things to do and people to meet, but I had myself and that was that. So, while you were busy dodging familair shadows and wheeling and dealing, I was free to take myself wherever I would. India is a lovely place. You should make pains to visit."

((Heehee. The back burner is such a wonderful place for things.))

"Stressful doesn't even begin to do it. Trying to play with and off of others who are trying to do the same to you isn't conducive to calm, or to a long life." He chuckled. "Perhaps I shall, at one point or another, now that I've no 'shadows' to deal with."
PostPosted: Tue May 10, 2005 12:51 am

(( Right now my back burner is quite a laundry list ;_; ))

"No, I really can't imagine that it is. But ah, you've escaped all that business now, yes? Travel is always a good way to keep oneself occupied, and you have a very useful trick that most vampires don't, which would certainly come in handy. Perhaps not so awful after all." He puts his fingers to his mouth, considering. "The worst thing about living so long is a tendency to stagnate. It gets to driving one crazy, feeling purposeless. How long have you been a vampire, anyway?"

((e.e Burning laundry would be bad. XD))

"I should hope so. Even if there were a someone or two still hanging around, it's a small matter. I'm supposed to be dead, after all." Vlad scratched his head, calculating. "Without all that time in between? Thirty years or so."
PostPosted: Tue May 10, 2005 1:07 am

(( *suddenly recalls Kraimer having the pizza place put his clothing in the oven* hmmm..... ))

Nar makes a toothy face. "Not very long. Not very long at all. You're practically human, still." He gives him a sympathetic smile and tosses some stuff over the edge and into the rocks below. "Well if they were after your kingdom or whatever then I suppose you wouldn't have to worry. And if it would be a matter of malice, well.... As many years as you've been gone is a long time to stop brooding on something."

((o.O Oh my.))

"No, perhaps not so long, for what it matters." Which, in his opinion, was little, if at all, and so he dismissed it. "Who knows? I suppose there could still be Daneshti lingering. I doubt they'd be thrilled to see me. Not really worth worrying about, though."
PostPosted: Tue May 10, 2005 1:20 am

"It doesn't matter so much as it used to, when there were more vampires around. Our culture has fallen apart, somewhat. But what I meant was on a more personal level. Human minds were only meant to last so long, and the hardest thing about cheating death is coping with the fact. To ask what the point may be is to open the door to dispair, but it will invariably happen. I didn't mean to cause you any insult. It only means that you probably don't know what I'm talking about. Who are the Daneshti?"

"Can't be much worse than spending several centuries stuck in an inanimate object." He was still shrugging the matter off. "Relatives," Vlad replied shortly, with a wry grin. "A rival branch of the family."
PostPosted: Tue May 10, 2005 1:35 am

"Well.... The first few, perhaps not. But the longer it goes on, the harder it gets. I don't mean to shake my cane at you, but I speak from personal experience." He grins at him, not as serious as he was before. He's not so interested in spelling other people's doom. He lets it drop. "I don't think you're going to have to worry about that. Unless you mean your vampire family? What bloodline do you hail from, by the way?"

"Both, after a fashion. At any rate, it's a wonder we didn't just..wipe each other out, the way we went at it." He smirked, shaking his head. "You ask a lot of questions," he noted, expression unreadable, for all that he was grinning.
PostPosted: Tue May 10, 2005 1:54 am

"I'm very curious," he answers. "You don't ask very many." He gazes back out, wondering if he's overstepped his boundaries somehow. Perhaps not, for he hasn't been snapped at, yet. He really didn't know what he was doing when he came out here and started to talk. He was just intent on behaving in a favorable, friendly way.

"No, not really," he conceded. "Not tonight. Would you rather I did?" He brushed his hair back behind a pointed ear, watching Naraka.
