"Ah..." In the short period of time alotted between her sentences Shouyin recalled that whole event he'd personally dubbed Petals of Chaos. He didn't really have the thing written down in an autobiography or anything, but he could certainly recall more than a few strange and terrible things happening to him during that couple of days. And that woman's name... yeah, the story rang true.

"Velvel for now," he smiled and laughed in that soft polite kind of manner with her final comment.

"Seriously. I got out of that thing surprisingly dry though," he said with a sheepish grin.

He plodded like a man...exhausted.

This felt so much quicker when I had a truck. And twenty men.
Somebody made a mistake.
Images of the bodies stretched along the river back in the woods flashed across his eyes. The truck. The DAM gone itself, hundreds of tons of wood gone.
Somebody made a big goddamned mistake. I hope they don't blame me for this...

The stumps didn't really impede movement much when it was just walking, and it made locating the camp much easier than it would of been in a forest. It's lighting made it obvious, a aura of light in the otherwise dark world.

After a few moments of rest, the earth mage got up again, picking up his "sleeping" friend and moving on.

"We're almost home, I promise...soon we'll be in the bright forest, among friends."

Now things were getting bumpy. Athan found it kind of hard to even keep himself upright at times, but still, he somehow managed to avoid falling into any laps.

"They really don't build these things for comfort, do they?"

"Ohla, goilly, ahlagoily ay..." Again, don't ask. Sam was merely keeping herself amused at this point. She knew Skinner wanted the shiny, but not knowing where the shiny was, She was pretty much at free wheels to take the directive however she would. So she did.

The dirtbike plowed up the path quickly, taking advantage of the path left by the mining convoys. It managed a truly impressive speed, probably passing the lumbering mining equipment even though it had departed a good ten minutes after them.

About half way through the areas length, though, the bike dove off tthe path, and started to weave its way through the stumps, heading into the next planned area for logging.

The terrain was rough, but the people on foot probably had an easier time of it than those in the vehicles. Nijemi's team only slowed their pace awaiting her silent signals.
