I just finished reading North and South Trilogy by John Jakes.
I enjoyed the reading about the american Civil War, of course the northern industrialized half of america can defeat the agricultural based southern parts... except the south were more motivated and willing to risk their lives. Technology was the decisive factor. Ironclads rendered sail gunners obselete and rifled guns were way better than muskets. Shells replaced cannon balls and medical field surgery was born and experimented.

Wars are bad, but tend to drive the need for more inventions and stuff. It's like hardships you go through in life, even though we try to avoid it, we know that we will encounter them sometime in our life, but after that, we get more experience and everything is a bit more easier. 3nodding

cold_blooded_chick Wars are bad, but tend to drive the need for more inventions and stuff. It's like hardships you go through in life, even though we try to avoid it, we know that we will encounter them sometime in our life, but after that, we get more experience and everything is a bit more easier. 3nodding reminds me of that anime "AppleSeed" all humans wanted wars, that is why ppl created Bioroids but they are pretty much like clones but better.....so there'll be no wars as a result...
