Cyrus blinked and eyed Lu's shoulder, suddenly very grateful that Zita seemed to be an ordinary baby. ... Aside from the magical appearance and general meanness. And..wait.. "Unravelling her legend? So... ... I don't get it. Just what are the Legend children? Should I be..trying to figure out something about Zita?
Zita focused on Gyre rather suddenly, perking up at the comment. She knew that word. Quite well. She squirmed out of Cyrus's hand and leaned on the arm of the chair, thrusting her stick towards the couch and waving it at the other girl as though to show off. "Mamama~" she said.

Luciel nibbled at another piece of frut, thoughtful. Coming up with an explanation that makes sense o someone other than herself was difficult for her. "Well, back when Gyre first arrived, she was...nothing short of savage. I mean brutal. But, the longer she stayed with me, the more I noticed that it wasn't her being mean," she cast a loving glance at Gyre, "but her being what she thought she was - a baby falcon."
Gyre pointed to the mask in reference. Watching Zita wave her stick, Gyre smiled. Perhaps she should reach out to it?
Lu continued. "She would always wear her mask. If I tried to take it, she'd bite me." As shown by the scars on her shoulder. They were faint, but detectable as Lu wore a tank top. "As far as I can tell, the Legend children are magical beings. That would explain why Gyre's mask, when worn properly, turns her into a falcon."
"Mamamam?" Gyre mimicked back. Zita sure was cute! Perhaps, one day, they could dance together?

A blank stare. "...she can turn into a bird?" And here he could barely manage to turn into a fox himself. Being shown up by a little girl was certainly a wounding blow to one's pride. "I..don't think Zita's done anything like that. Not when I've been watching, anyway."
He feel into quiet thought, managing to ignore the jabbering baby in his lap. Zita drew the stick a bit closer to herself, grinning childishly at Gyre and nodding, though it looked more like a bobbing wiggle. "Ma~!" She shook the stick again. "My mamama waaan~"
"So...they're kinda like the fa'e, you think? I mean..." Cyrus trailed off and smoothed his hair back, eyeing a spot on the wall vacantly. "..you know what the fa'e are, right?"

Gyre nodded vigorously. "With my mask. It's magical!" The falcon child continued to watch Zita, though she was becoming slightly suspicious. She would give the baby the benefit of the doubt, and waved her fingers just beyond the end of the stick.
"I've seen her do it once. She just puts on the mask and POOF! She's a falcon. Never understood it. Of course, I'm also in awe of the kitsune and were-people who can do the same thing, sans mask."
The Fa'e? Yes, she'd been into the building once or twice. Saw a few strange people there as well. "Yes, I saw a few of the Fa'e. Magical children reborn, aren't they? I've never personally spoken to any of them, but I just got so curious one day, and the shop was open..."
Then it dawned on her. "Perhaps the Legends are like the Fa'e... I could always ask Gyre about her vision she said she had..." Oh, and another thought popped into her head. "Do you know a Fa'e personally? Are they as fascinating as I think they are?"

Zita squeaked a bit and pulled her stick closer to her again. It was for looking, not touching! Even if it was amazing. ... At least, she thought it was. "My! My wan," she said firmly, dropping it back onto her blanket for safe keeping. Her daddy would keep it safe.
She turned back to Gyre and waved her hand at the girl again, babbling away in her baby talk. Now, though, she seemed to simply be speaking for the sake of making noise rather than any real attempt to say something.
Cyrus sighed and patted her back absently, glad that she hadn't started another screaming fit, at least. "It certainly sounds impressive," he agreed. "I know a few people who can do it too. I mean, not birds. But changing into other things."
He nodded a bit at the question, half-wondering if Rune had shown up yet. He'd been missing still when he last checked in... "Er...yeah. I've got an adopted brother who is one. I guess he's interesting. He, um, was a winged unicorn for a while... All ghosty. He's a boy now though."

Gyre giggled. Zita was funny! She liked Zita, even if Zita didn't like her in return. Meeting the new Legend made her want to go back to the HQ to see if she could locate Guin or Levi again. But she was beginning to understand what Zita was telling her.
"I think her stick is a wand." she said plainly. She picked up the mask, showing to Zita. "Mask." Maybe she'd understand that she had special items of her own?
Luciel slumped over. "I have to admit, I guess I'm weird for being so interested in other people's species. Mine's not too closely-knit, so... And besides, everyone else seems so much more interesting." Cyrus had a Fa'e brother, who was a unicorn at some point? That seemed excited, but dreadful at the same time, especially at the mention of fading away.

"Well me and most of the people I know are part this and that. So...I dunno. Actually being one species sounds like it'd be nice to me. A lot less confusing." He shrugged and slouched in the chair, frowning up at the ceiling. "Besides. You've got horns. What's cooler than that?"
There was a long pause when Gyre spoke, and Cyrus picked up part of the broken stick to eye curiously. It was about the right size for a wand, he supposed. "You might be right, Gyre..."
Zita tilted her head at the mask, glancing from it to Gyre. "Mas? Ma mas?" She leaned against the arm of the chair, almost threatening to topple over - except for the fact that Cy had a firm hold on her.

Lu looked at Cyrus curiously. "Are you more than just a fox-man? I mean, that's two species right there, but... I'm just confusing myself." She giggled, which she did whenever nervous or confused. She intstead turned her attention to her horns. "Oh, these? I think they're neat, too. Especially for bashing things. But I don't do that often."
She supposed it was kind of cool to have horns and all, but the species that came with it wasn't very cool.
"Each one of us is born with something different. I've never met another one of my kind with horns... But you have cute, fuzzy ears and a tail!" Gyre thought so as well. Looking at Zita, she decided the little baby was slightly selfish. But she was sure Zita would grow out of it.
Gyre placed the mask back beside her. "No, not yours. Mine. Sorry."

"Um.. I'm pretty sure I've just got fox and human in me... I don't know my dad though, so I can't really be sure." He sighed and turned his attention to Zita for a moment, distracting himself by toying with the end of her scarf. She didn't seem to mind at the moment, thankfully. "They are neat. I've got a friend who has some too.."
He looked up and tilted his head as she spoke a bit about her kind, somewhat startled that they were all born different. And...his ears were not cute. Though he wasn't about to shout down a complement - that would be rude. He mumbled a quick thanks instead and absently covered one of his ears with a hand.
Zita blinked, confused for a moment, before catching the meaning of what Gyre had said. She scrunched her face up and slapped one hand against the chair. "Gib!"

Lu's eyes lit up. "You have a friend with horns too? Or were you talking about your ears?" She was easily confused. She watched Zita. Poor thing was going to throw a fit if Gyre didn't give her the mask. Gyre wasn't going to give it up, either, but had an alertnate plan of attack. She scooted off the couch and ran down the hall. After a while, she returned, and soft plushie in hand. Smiling, she handed it to Zita. "You can have this!"

Cyrus grinned a bit and leaned forward. "I meant with horns. She's part dragon, so I think that's where she got them from..." Though it could just as easily be her demonic side, he supposed. Not that he'd be telling Bronnie that any time soon.
Zita let out a shriek of irritation when Gyre vanished down the hall, still reaching over the chair for the mask. Cyrus winced and pulled her back into his lap, doing his best to look sheepish and apologetic. "She's not usually this fussy," he mumbled, only half-lieing. She wasn't quite this bad at home, and that had to count for something, didn't it?
He gave Gyre a very thankful smile when she returned with the plushie though. Zita's eyes went wide when the girl handed it to her, and she seemed to forget about the mask then. After all, this was a soft thing! Everyone knew those were the best for chewing. As if to prove so, she stuck on of the flippers in her mouth and began to gnaw on it with a content gurgle.

Lu made a mental note of this. "Part dragon? Does she have wings and a tail like a dragon, too? I mean, is she human-shaped?" She couldn't help but admit that dragons were regal creatures, at least to her. Anything with wings fascinated her too. "I hope she's nice and doesn't have sulfur breath... I read that in a book once."
The falcon child was relieved to find that Zita had accepted, with great enthusiasm, her gift. She remembered when she used to gnaw on everything, and still continued to do so every once in a while. "I'm glad she likes it!" Maybe, when she was older, Zita could come to play?
When Lu was finished nibbling on her salad, she sat back. "Don't worry about her fussiness. It doesn't bother me. I'm used to it." She grinned. She had other children out and about as well.

"Uh.. Well she looks like any other girl, I guess. ..but she does have wings and a tail. They make her look cool," he said, not quite sure what the fascination with it all was.
His tail puffed up at the question of Bronnie's niceness - it was bad enough when it was just Bronnie questioning her own alignment. He didn't need to hear about strangers doing it too. "And of course she's nice! Her and her mom are some of the nicest people I know. Those books are just full of stupid lies." A pause. "I don't know if she can breath fire or not though."
Zita made another gurgling sound at Gyre, glancing her way for a brief moment before focusing on the toy again. This Gyre girl would be worth talking to in the future, it seemed. She at least knew that Zita was supposed to be given things. ...even if they weren't exactly the things she'd originally wanted. Still, this toy would do in place of the mask. ... For now.

"That's very good to hear. I'm sorry if I've bothered you with all these questions... I do that to strangers..." She quieted, as if thinking. The runes on her back flared up again, but this time she gritted her teeth through the pain. She'd have to seek revenge on Serath because of it, but not right now.
Gyre, too, was making plans. Plans to keep her precious things safe from Zita, just in case. But for right now, her things were safe. "Does Zita like to play with dolls or something?" Gyre asked, watching the darker Legend.

Cyrus sighed and leaned back in the chair again, apparently calming down seeing as she wasn't insisting that there must be mean dragons somewhere. Almost sheepishly, he pulled his tail around to smooth the fur out again. "It's alright.. She's just...really special to me."
He seemed almost thankful for Gyre's distraction and glanced her way, shrugging just a bit. "She'll really play with anything you put in front of her. Just don't expect to get it back very easily," he added.
