The Last Alliance of Men and ElvesThis guild features the most complete LOTR canon-based RPG known to Gaia. Focused on the 5 years previous to the Battle of the Last Alliance, it allows the RPer to involve him/herself in the world of Tolkien, at the ending of the Second Age, a time of relative peace, when the Dark Lord musters his forces, in order to destroy the two newly founded kingdoms, Arnor and Gondor. His attempts are frustrated by the might of Gil-galad, High King of the Elves, and Elendil the Tall, High King of the Exiled Numenoreans. Many subplots are available, and you can either become a character of that time (Such as Amdír, King of Lórien), or create a new one yourself. Experienced and devoted RPers are preferred, but all are welcome! I didn't write that, but it sums up the guild pretty well! I'm trying to revive it by finding a lot of new players that would be interested and by harassing the old players xd But you should join, and make the guild active again!

I've started an RPG in this guild called, "The Hunt, the Hunted, and the Hunters". It's basically a sort of modern/fantasy RPG, and includes powers, leveling, plot, and plenty of action. Here's the intro: Synphoniam Table of Contents

The Introduction Fear.
It creates havoc, pandemonium, conflict. Nothing needs to be justified anymore once fear takes over and begins to rule the once rational human brain. There is no honesty or sincerity; just a bunch of crazed individuals running, screaming, into the darkness of the night. Or perhaps even the light of the day.
And fear, exactly, was probably one of the more major things that formed the Hunt. In the advanced year of 3000, human kind has delved further into science and technology much further than it should have. After corruption began to run utterly rampant among the government, brilliant scientists who have discovered valuable research have been murdered one after another in repeated attempts to seize classified information for selfish purposes. This corruption continued on for decades, before a group of individuals decided they had enough and hacked into confidential records, where they deleted every single ounce of research stolen.
A furious government tracked these individuals down and tortured them mercilessly for vengeance and to gain back the information lost. But none of them uttered a word, despite years of punishment, because it was their gift to that cruel society—their gift for that society’s total corruption and screw-ups. And so, they perished; painfully, horribly, but happily.
Somehow, this information was leaked out to the public of how these people died… and ever since, the public has lived in fear. Fear.
The government has used this fear as leverage and influence to manipulate people into doing as it desired. A group of talented, but moral scientists was blackmailed into rediscovering all that was lost—all the information that had been lost. And then, after years and years and years and years of research, they have invented a totally phenomenal, but atrocious invention.
This invention was exactly what this government needed for even greater influence and power—power that was capable of controlling the entire world. This invention, the Genetik, was designed to merge human DNA and animal DNA together, creating a being that was capable of using advantages from both species to carry out dispatches, errands, and, virtually, anything.
Numerous experimentations with the Genetik have created only numerous failures and nothing remotely close to success. Too much animal DNA caused animal instincts to take over the rational human mind, but too little caused the deaths of both human and animal. Further research led to the improvement of this machine, which then resulted in the launch of Project GENETIKA.
And it was originally deemed a success. An insanely large number of humans and animals was captured and used. And everything—everything!—had been set to exact, perfect calculations, creating…
Problems?
Ironically, all the specimens had died except for one group: the group of half-humans who were either half-dove or half-raven. When all the processes and machines were rechecked, it was revealed that the Genetik machines that created this group were somehow flawed anyway. This created something that balanced out all the uneven equations in the other machines and led to supernatural abilities that neither human nor dove and raven could possibly have had in the beginning. This group was able to use powers that bordered the impossible.
However, the government had underestimated the intelligence of these finished experiments, and its entire force was killed by an enraged group of half-humans. These half-humans then hid their inhuman qualities and married into normal families, creating families of their own and children of their own. But this was a mistake. Not only did the children also possess inhuman qualities when they were born and cause many divorces, but the new government that was established decided that killing off every single one of them was necessary.
The public was easily persuaded by false claims that they had to be killed for the sake of mankind. Very soon, the entire human race was turned against these half-humans, who decided to gather together to form ranks of their own and fight back. These half-humans, called Avians, were going to fight back against the society they once loved and now hated.
Groups of people called Hunters were formed, and it was their duty to destroy and kill every single being that even possessed a trace of Avian blood. The Avians were deemed the Hunted because of their status of being “hunted” by Hunters. And the Hunt—well, we all know what that is now, don’t we?

 plot line: The 6 continents of Oasis are feeling the stress of a powerful but unknown force led by a man, Var. Var has acumilated so much political wealth that greed took over. He began pressuring and bribing political leaders in the 6 countries into raising taxes to a outragous amount. Rebellions sported immediately untill Var employed his own army to tone down the rebels. It had worked. Now the population lives in fear of Var surpressive nature and almost the entire Oasis now lives in poverty. This is the last atempt made to stop Var. If these warriors fail, then Oasis will be under his rule forever...... The story so far: Fueled by hate and genious, Var gathered his sources and recruits and made the Southern continent of Sir (pronounced Seer) his first victim. As he became closer to Sir's capital he decided to make the two eastern continents, Eyre and Garan, his next victims as well as begin attacks on the smaller Northern continent of Beneria. It is now spring time in Eyre and Var promised to take the capital and dominate the whole continent by the end of the season. With that promise he attacked a city and destroyed several surrounding towns, One of them being the home of Xavier, a young mechanic. People keep wanting to RP but don't *sigh* so I'm trying this again becuase I really liked the story... any, it's a modern fantasy, so there's limited use of magic it's literate, I happen to enjoy writing 2-4 paragraphs O__o there's still one more cannon character left. It's the hero. I might have ot take him for myself if no one takes him for the progress of the rp.

Masks are all over the place; even the word we use for the most basic unit of individuality, the “person,” is just a reference to the mask you wear. Who you are, the “persona,” literally means “mask.” Do you know how many masks you have? And do you know what will be there once they’re all gone?
Welcome to PERSONA, a modern-day RP based very, very heavily on the Shin Megami Tensei series of games by the same name, drawing more strongly from the Persona 2 installments of the series than the others.
In Persona, you take on the role of an individual who has been gifted (or cursed) with the ability to call upon an alternate self (called a Persona, from the Greek word for mask) that usually takes on the archetype of something from the panoply of mythology, such as the nymph Callisto or the Divine Tiger Byakko. These alternate selves have abilities above and beyond what a normal human being is capable of doing.
This story takes place in an imaginary, highly metropolitan city in the United States of America, and the heroes are everyday people catapulted by circumstance as well as by fate into a situation where they will have to track down answers to questions they might not even know to ask. What do a young reporter, a glam rocker, a wealthy playboy, a mousy computer engineer, and a high school lacrosse player secretly have in common? What will they discover behind their masks? Do they even want to find out?

 Angelic Songs is a literate roleplaying guild for the sole purpose of roleplaying and having fun. There are over 15 members currently and it is growing steadily. Any roleplay is allowed as long it corresponds with the Gaia ToS. Right now, there are a few roleplays open and are being created. One of the most looked forward to is the Guild Official Roleplay. It is a massive roleplay for everyone to join and it does not base itself on one gender. It encorporates all of the genders of roleplays out there. Here is a little piece of the plot for you all to give you an idea of it: "From the moment time began, from the moment intelligent being were created, there was always the question, ‘is there life such as our’s on other planets?’ It wasn’t until a few centuries after that question was asked that in the middle of each planet, a giant stone gate rose up from the land. Ancient text was written all over the gate and it wasn’t until years later that the text was deciphered. The text spoke of how one day the gate would open. On that day, a bright light was to engulph anyone who had managed to be in front of it at the time. If one was to enter, an adventure was for them. If one was to stay, and not enter, death was all that awaited them. One day the gates did open. As for the world beyond the gates, only those who have entered have seen the Other World. As for how they plan to leave this world, time only tells..."
There are a few rules for the guild:
