Mayu was sitting cross-legged on the floor, watching Demare tug at the door to no avail. She was given a bit of surprise when the boy lost his grip, falling back onto the linoleum floor. She pushed herself up and offered a hand to help him up, then looked back towards the door.

"Let's both try opening the door together," she suggested, gripping the handle firmly. "We pull on three?"

Demare accepted her help in getting up off of the floor, growing a little irritated over the situation. Why did all of this have to happen today? Why couldn't his bad luck streak go on when he wasn't with someone else? He couldn't help but feel that he was putting the girl in danger somehow.

"Yeah... on three," he agreed, standing behind Mayu and wrapping his fingers tightly around what was left of the handle. "One... two..."

"Three!" Mayu shouted, yanking as hard as she could. The door made a crackling noise, then the handle tore clean off of its spot, the screws used to secure it to the door falling to the ground with a tinkling noise. Being so focused on opening the door, the Legend lost balance and fell back.

"Ow!" she cried, falling onto the floor. At least her impact was slightly "cushioned" by her tailbone. Her hands were still wrapped tightly around the door handle.

"I guess that didn't work..." She frowned, looking from the handle in her hands to the spot where it was affixed to before. "Now what?" she sighed.

Demare could only stare at the door for a moment in disbelief. The handle broke, but... the door wasn't any closer to being opened. It was still in the state it had been in, but now their slight chance of escaping had been ruined. His reddish bangs fell down over his eyes for a moment as his hands curled up into tight fists.

"Gods be DAMNED," he hissed, slamming his fist hard into the glass door to vent a little bit of his frustration. He didn't notice the slivered web that streaked down the glass as he took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He needed to stay calm... Not for himself, but for Mayu's sake.

He stepped over to the other end of the room, trying to think of another way out.

Getting up, Mayu took a look at the door handle she held in her hands. The end was pointed, perfect for a wedge! And the spiderweb crack that Demare had made in the door was just large enough to fit the tip of the handle in!

"Clare, I think I just found a way out of this room," she said, walking over to the door. Jamming the end of the broken handle into the spiderweb crack, Mayu chipped away at the door until a thin crack spread across the width of the door.

"Can you... punch that crack dead-center? I think it'll break open if you use enough force." She grinned, happy that she had come up with an idea.

Demare lifted his head as he turned around to look at her, wondering what she was talking about. He couldn't just punch the glass and break it.

...At least, he couldn't before that web appeared. Stepping back over, he studied the cracks for a moment before deciding that there was a chance it could break. It might take a few tries, but it appeared to be weak enough to maybe shatter at least enough for them to get through.

"Stand back," he told her, picking up his left hand to place against the glass. He stopped, however, an eery grin curling up on his lips. He switched to his right hand, drawing his fist back, and slamming it hard into the web.

The spidery lines spread out even further at the force of the blow, tiny pieces of glass flying out where he'd struck. Red stained the clear surface as he pulled his arm back again, striking it again. The halfling winced, his hand feeling like it was on fire, small electric pulses shooting through his arm before he pulled it back again. The glass was rigged... Extra security in case someone had decided to break through this way. His eyes narrowed, determined to get through the door.

If he didn't break a hole through the glass this time, however, it would be too dangerous to try using his body any longer.

One last time, he rammed his bloodied fist into the glass with all of his might.

Somewhere, somehow, something had gone right. Large pieces of glass broke off and fell out into the hallway, shattering as it hit the ground. Demare kicked off a couple of loose pieces from the door, the shocks loosing their affect with the rubber in his shoes. There was now a big enough hole for the two to slip through with ease.

"Ladies first..." he said with a smile, carefully picking out small pieces of glass from his fist.

Shifting back, Mayu pocketed the broken handle -- it might be useful later. She clapped, though quietly, as the glass broke into pieces. They could escape now! Well, from their cell, at least. Mayu had no idea where they were, and she knew that Demare didn't have a clue either.

Standing up, she grinned. "Thanks," she said, slipping through the hole in the glass door. Peering down at Demare's bloody fist, she paled for a moment.

"Your fist is bleeding..." Mayu whispered with a frown. She rummaged about in her pocket and pulled out yet another handkerchief from her endless supply, and a few pink band-aids. Taking Demare's hand, she wiped off the blood and affixed the sticky pink things to his cuts like Kimiko had done for her when she had scraped her knee once.

"There, all better!" she exclaimed, surprised that she herself knew how to apply first aid skills.

The black-haired woman looked up from her magazine.

"Did you hear that? It sounded like a crash... from the hallway." she said, standing up. Tossing the colorful magazine aside, she looked over to the blond man. "Come on, let's go."

Demare blushed slightly as Mayu tried to clean his wounds, wraping bandages around what she could see. A shame that the attempt wasn't exactly enough... Some of the cuts were too deep, and the small bandaids were quickly soaked with blood.

"Thank you..." he told her anyway, giving her a warm smile. The effort was enough. "That helps a little bit."

He hesitated for a moment before undoing the wrap around his left arm, revealing several large, black runes that appeared to be tattooed onto his flesh. He wrapped the bandage tightly around his hand and fingers, making sure that he would be able to still move it around in case someone showed up. He didn't have time to try to heal them right now... He'd do it later, maybe when they got out of where ever they were.

"Which way do you think we should go?" the halfling asked, turning blank eyes to his friend. "I have to get Mordanath back before we leave..."

The man smirked, his eyes returning to normal as he peered at his partner in crime. He'd been watching the two, and was fairly impressed with the way that they seemed to react to things. It was almost amazing... Most people they brought here would go ballistic or panic. These two children were almost completely calm.

"I'm surprised they managed to break out," he cooed, stepping toward the hallway. "Not even a grown man managed to get out of one of those. Perhaps this might be a little... fun."

He continued on in a sing-song voice, grinning coyly at the woman. "Wouldn't you agree, Lilly? What are we going to do with them, anyway? Did the boss say anything yet?"

"Maybe I should've brought some larger band-aids..." she murmured, muddled in thought.

She wasn't quite sure which direction to go; the hallway seemed to spread out in both ways endlessly. Picking a word out from the top of her head, she pointed. "Right! I guess..."

Hoping it was the right choice, Mayu pivoted on her heel and started off towards her right.

"Yes, they are pretty strong, aren't they? The doors, that is." Lillian started towards the hallway, though stopping at the door to pick up a scythe with intricate carvings on the blade. If the kids were strong enough to break out of one of those doors unarmed, they would be a formidable challenge with or without a weapon. Better to be armed.

"Oh yes, the boss doesn't want them killed. He says we should try to... fix them." She tapped her nails on the wall impatiently.

"Right it is, then," he said with a nod, walking along with her down the hall. This whole place made him uneasy. Shouldn't there have been an alarm or something?

The hallways were too quiet. Things were just simply too settled. It was as if someone had expected them to escape, and were merely waiting for them to get close enough before attacking. Demare didn't like this place at all, and just wanted to go home. ...Well, perhaps not HOME, but somewhere safe and away from here.

His wings shifted and shuffled behind his back, a feather falling loose from his left wing and floating down to the floor.

"I wonder... what time it is..." he said quietly, idly. He was a little surprised that Demian hadn't even started to bother him yet. Maybe that sleep spell was stronger than he thought it was.

Dante lifted a hand to his waist, making sure his gun was in its holster. He checked the other side as well, feeling for his more preferred weapon: a simple chain.

"Figured he wouldn't want to kill a couple of kids," he snorted, shrugging a little bit. "I guess fixing them shouldn't be too hard. The girl looks rather easy... just a little DNA string, probably. The boy, however..."

He stopped for a moment, his eyes turning completely white as he went to check on the children, as well as to make sure the dagger the kid had was still secure.

"There's something funny about those markings of his. They're seals of some sort, so it won't be easy to remove. What bothers me, however, is what they say."

Mayu's footsteps echoed down the hall softly. She still couldn't see the end of the hallway, and it felt like she was walking nowhere beneath the buzzing lights.

"I don't have a watch..." she said, peering down at her wrist. She really needed to get one for this sort of occasion. The hallway continued to stretch on, but she could barely make out a door at the end. Reinforced steel, by the looks of it.

"There's a door up ahead, I think." she reported, continuing her quick pace.

Lillian nodded, sharpening the scythe's blade with a sort of stone. It was unneccessary -- the blade was always sharpened to perfection -- but it helped to pass the time.

"What do the seals say?" she asked, turning her attention away from the weapon for a moment.

Demare turned his eyes toward the door they were approaching. He could feel something... Another presense?

"I think someone's behind that door," he told her, his eyes narrowing a little bit. "We should probably be careful..."

Dante continued to watch the children, taking his chain from his side to wrap the end around his hand.

"On the left, I believe it read 'What lies beneath must rest in Eternal Peace'..." he told her, thinking about them for a moment. "And on the right, 'A hidden savior, the key lies in shadow's light.' If you ask me, I think they're backwards... That is, if the kid really is what his body makes him appear to be."

The markings on Demare's left arm began to shimmer, both arms feeling as if he's just been burned. He stopped, grasping at his biceps, his eyes widening from the pain. The skin began to smolder slightly, as if the markings were trying to burn further into the flesh.

Folding his arms across his chest, Dante leaned up against the wall. "I think we're going to have company in a minute here. Should we just knock them out again, or do you have a better plan?"

Mayu nodded, stopping as she came up to the steel door. She turned to wait for Demare and leaned against the wall. She knew that she couldn't let her guard down, however, so she kept herself alert for any incoming people, armed or not.

Tossing the stone in the same direction as the magazine she had tossed aside earlier, Lillian sighed.

"Strange kid," she said, peering up at the door. No doubt the brats were planning some sort of attack at the moment.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Mayu frowned, stepping over.

"Knocking them out sounds like a good plan." Lillian smirked, grasping the handle of the scythe.

Demare dropped down to his knees, curling up a little bit as he tried to figure out what was causing his arms to hurt. There was a ring in his ears, making it hard to concentrate, and he wondered if it was Demian that was doing this. Clare was crying out to the demon, however, and wasn't getting a responce.

"H...hurts..." he managed to get out, dropping his head down to rest his forehead against the cold metal floor. The light... the light was hurting his eyes.

Dante waited a few moments before kicking himself up from the wall, making his way toward the door.

"They're taking too long," he sighed, growing rather impatient. He hated waiting for attacks to happen. He just didn't like surprises. "I'll just knock out the boy, and you can take the girl to fix her. That one shouldn't be too hard, and she won't be much of a struggle."

Without waiting for a responce from Lillian, he swung the door open, his heavy boots taking him out into the hallway. The children weren't that far away, and his chain would probably just reach them.

"Ah, he's already down..." the man smirked, lifting his left hand and tossing the chain behind his back. "That makes my job just a little bit easier."

With a hard swing of his arm, the chain thrust itself out toward the two Legends, the chain's links seeming to extend and grow longer as it reached for them.

Mayu kneeled down, squatting as she tried to figure out what to do. The best thing she could think of was for Demare to take some painkillers, but she had none on hand. And even if she did have a bottle of Tylonel or Advil on hand, it would be pretty damn hard to get the boy to swallow them without water.

She lifted his head and rested it on her lap, the best thing she could do at the moment. It was better than laying one's head down on a hard metal floor, that was for sure.

The chain caught Mayu by surprise, striking her clear across the back of her skull. Blackout was imminent. The Legend toppled to her side, crumpling against the cold floor.

"I thought you were going to knock out the boy," Lillian said, peering out from the open doorway. Shrugging, she placed her scythe in its place by the door and stepped out into the corridor.

"The girl will be easier to fix, but let's work on the boy. He's still awake, isn't he?" she said, grin forming on her face. "I like a challenge."
