giliras i would recomend anything by Garth Nix. also i a would recomend anything by Tom Clancy. Tom Clancey rules. Try some books by Orson Scott Card, namely his Ender and Shadow series.... kids ruling the world, alien invasions, overreactive xenocide, deep and intrinsic global (and galactic) politics, good stuff. Definately a MUST for any Sci-Fi buff.

The Tortall Books by Tamora Pierce there are like 5 series of them all building on eachother. They are great. They have magic, nights, mythical creatures, powerful women, and a little romance.
The Dream Merchant by Isabel Hoving. It's amazing with a whole other dream universe and time travel.
Plus I have to agree with the recomendations for the Garth Nix, Stephenie Meyer, Jean M. Auel, and Allison Croggon series.

i suggest the 'Age of the Five' trilogy by Trudi Canavan
they are definitely a mature series for reasons i'm sure you can assume, but really the overall writing was wonderful and the characters very realistic
the first one is 'the priestess of the white', then 'last of the wilds' as second, and the final one is 'voice of the gods'

I don't know if they've been mentioned, but if they have then here they are again.
arrow David Gemmell arrow Terry Pratchett arrow Isaac Asimov All three are Transworld Authors (They're from the publishing company, Transworld)
arrow Raymond Feist
He's not a Transworld author, but he's awesome. All of those are Fantasy authors. Oh! And anything I write... I recommend it greatly! smile

I'm reading the Cheysuli series by Jennifer Roberson at the moment, I'm on to the 3rd book (i think its a 7-8 book series) the first one is called Shapechangers. Well worth a read! Also David Gemmells trilogy about Troy, I still need to read the last book but it's pretty good so far......apparently he died writing the last book in the series and then his wife finished it.

If you like fiction then dean koontz is a great author. v.c. andrews is my favorite (aside from jk rowling) but her books are a little more on the twisted side. Laurel K. Hamilton has some really good fantasy type books but there more for the adult audiences. i can name a thousand good books.
