Hellos all. I'm from Richmond, meaning I get hardcore culture-shocked whenever I travel out of this city. Seriously, three days ago was the first time I've walked into a Tim Hortons in 6 years. I have a theory that when the whole earth was still all hardcore one landmass PANGEA, Richmond was right beside ancient prehistoric Hong Kong. And somehow as the centuries passed, this bit of land broke off and floated over with North America. So uh, that is why asian immigrants are magnetically attracted to this area.

Yeah, that was a tiny rant. Is Richmond considered to be a reasonably-sized city British-Columbia wise?

Meh, I think it's because it's Richmond.
*was in Richmond two days ago*
Gotta love Yaohan and Aberdeen Centre.

*is from Port Coquitlam, not far from Richmond and Vancouver*

Lived in B.C all my life and anyone in here who has to go through the new graduation system like me? Provincial exams in grade 10! gonk

Hated grade 10 provincials. Are they still doing them this year? Last year we were the guinnea pigs stressed . Our exams weren't worth marks and some teachers thought it was so stupid they encouraged up not to do them at all. Just sit there and wait for the time to be up. I finished the exams, but I just did them for practice for the actual ones. My friends spent the whole time writing a long angry letter to the government in complaint on the backside of her test. xp

Hell yeah. It's part of the new grad system. I believe for all the public schools, the provincials for grade 10 last year didn't count at all towards their grades, only the school finals counted, but I do know that some independant (private, Catholic, etc) schools had the provincials as part as the final exams.

This year, is where the provincials actually counts from this year and onwards. Not only do you have the provincials, you have the portfolio to do. gonk

And it's suppose to reflect on what you want to do for your career, plus if you don't pass it, you don't graduate. xp

There's a lot more pressure for the grade 10s this year......

^^Wow, I'm glad I'm one year ahead. I have no idea what I'm doing after high school (well, a slight idea, but not enough to make a porfolio). Are you in grade ten? good luck if so!
