One!
Nuke slumped down on to his chest, breathing heavily, his eyes clearly not focusing too well on his surroundings. He started to move, only to roll on to his back and look up at the bright lights, a completely dazed look on his face.
Two!

Salem heard the referee start to count, his head reeling as he wiped some blood from his eyebrows and onto his pants! Trying to get back to his feet, he struggled to find his footing, the series of headbutt taking a toll as he vaguely heard the referee shout the four count!

Five!
Nuke struggled again, this time just about to get on to his hands and knees and begin a crawl towards the ring apron. He was seeing stars, his vision was blurry, and his head felt unnecessarily heavy.

Salem waited, biding his own time as Nuke and he both recovered! The fans, meanwhile, were out of their seats with excitement! The referee had gotten to seven, then eight as Salem slowly managed to stand up, watching Nuke's position carefully on the outside!

Nuke grabs at the ring apron, just about getting the strength to pull himself up and towards the ropes, rolling under the bottom rope at the very last moment!

Salem knew he couldn't let this match go on much longer, he and Nuke had been going to war in this show opener and the effects were taking their toll on both proud warriors! So, as the Nuclear God rolled into the ring, Salem would pounce and look to apply the Anaconda Coil once more, aiming to sink the Guillotine Choke in as Nuke rolled on the mat and twist with him to try and keep him down for good!

Rolling in to the ring was hard enough for Fusion, but he was soon pulled in to a nasty gator roll submissions maneuver!
There was barely any fight in him as he lightly pulled and slapped at the grip of Showtime..

Salem struggled to keep the choke cinched in, rolling back and forth with Nuke's neck attempting to keep the Guillotine applied! The referee approached to judge the submission, fans wild from the front row to the nosebleeds in anxious anticipation!

It was after a good 30 seconds or so that Nuke's eyes rolled back in his head and he shut his eyelids, his body starting to go limp. The ref checked him over, raising his arm in the air and watching it drop to the canvas.
Two more of these and the match would be all but over.

Laid out in the middle of the ring, Salem wrenched Nuke's neck as the referee began testing Nuke's arm! He could feel the veteran fading some, as his arm dropped limply to the canvas! As the referee went to check again, "Showtime" grit his teeth and dug his heels and hips into the mat, trying to keep Nuke from escaping!

If Salem had just let up a little, he would have realised that Nuke wasn't resisting in the slightest. The ref checks the Magnum Opus again, and.. his hand drops to the mat a second time.
The fans at ringside who saw the cane strike all look worried, some of them shouting out to the ref and Salem, but all in vain. Thier shouts were being drowned out by the rest of the arena.

Salem was full of adrenaline, the noise around him a cacophony of chaos as the referee once again lifted Nuke's arm and let it fall! "Showtime" didn't relent, trying to bring a merciful end to this once in a lifetime war while thousands watched on with mixed feelings!

The last arm lift as the arena watched on, their returning legend having already suffered one injury at the hands of Drako Damone, returning and .. the arm drops to the mat.
The ref immediately goes to pull Salem off from Nuke, completely out of it.

Nuke's arm fell for the third time and the referee called for the bell, Salem immediately releasing his grip on his old friend, having accomplished his goal! The referee helped Salem up and lifted his arm, the crowd mixed with their reactions to the finish! Some cheered for what had been a wild and crazy start to the night, as others shouted and pointed towards Adrian on the outside at the commentary table!
"...and your winner of this match, "SHOWTIME" SALEM CROFT!"
Noticing some of the gestures, Salem glanced confused from the booth to Nuke, his mentor still laid out! Breaking away from the referee, Salem crouched and tried to check on Fusion, tapping and rubbing the legendary wrestlers arm and rouse him!

There was no recall from Nuke as his face slumped against the mat, the ref also unable to get him awake. The arena went from a big mix of cheers and awkward jeers towards Adrian, to an almost audible silence.
It wasn't long before staff from the back came rushing out, EMTs ready to check on the Hall of Famer. The ref looked to pull Salem away at that moment.
