Saraf Post 6

Saraf gave a slight snort, how he didn't care for Besian and the way that he seemed to always take charge of Oban matters despite his sketchy past. Shaking his head to clear those thoughts he told himself his own distaste of the man shouldn't allow him to get too distracted from more important affairs. Instead he tried to listen to those around him as they tried to figure out what it was that they wanted to do.

As Besian and Naria tried to get people to consider working with the Alkidike it just seemed to cause things to spiral. The Shifters seemed to be the most against helping, likely after having to live in close quarters with the bug women for so long. He found himself turning as a Yaeli woman yelled out about the other group of female warriors, talking about the Dretch appearing because of them and to wipe them out.

It took a bit of time but it seemed as though they were starting to figure out what they wanted to do, "Seems as though they have an idea for what they want to do. Now they just need to give the order I suppose. The sooner that happens the sooner soldiers such as ourselves can prepare. I'm curious how much time they will give us before we need to march."

Shierra post 6

Shierra could not help but to stare openly at Prala for a moment. ...thank you?Because of her... a loss could be seen as not in vain... Her eyes started to water, but she quickly cleared her throat and gave a stiff nod. No need to start acting like a wuss!

"My brother was there, too!" she gasped softly. She looked around for that familiar shock of red hair, but saw nothing. Oops.... Hopefully, he would not be too upset that she'd wandered off. Chewing her lip at the voices of the clearly torn crowd, she shook her head with a growl. "If they hadn't said this was fer helpin' the Alks, no one woulda been upset. This ain't for the Alks. I wanna help everyone!"

Koril post 5

With the crowd getting quite riled up, Koril turned to look for his sister. Shierra wasn't the best at staying calm, after all. She would be oil to a flame if given the chance.

'I wanna help everyone!'

Koril smiled softly and followed the familiar voice. Oh! It looked like Shierra had found company. Wrapping an arm around his sister's shoulders, he hugged her close with a pointed squeeze. "Don't you be going off into any fights, Shierra."

Shavas || Post 7

Shavas had been quite young at the time of the last war, so the thought of people leaving now didn't quite seem real. She wasn't really sure what to feel about this current menace.

On one hand, being in this worked up crowd was concerning, the emotions churning around her were palpable. But on the other, the Dretch seemed more like some sort of far fetched boogeyman to her than a realistic enemy. A threat to trade whispered stories about over firelight, or something to scare children into behaving, but not something she truly considered a threat to herself personally. She felt safe in Oba, and if Oba was safe, she wasn't sure she cared what the Dretch did all the way in Juahar. She had never left Oba, that seemed a world away to Shavas. Sure, she had heard stories about some people who had been taken, but she didn't know any of them. That isn't to say that she felt nothing for those affected, but it felt so removed from her world that it was difficult to generate any genuine fear or anger about the situation.

Shavas crossed her arms and shook her head, no, she wouldn't be leaving Oba to chase bug monsters.

Prala || Post 6

Prala wasn't entirely familiar with the issue between the Alkidike and the Yaeli, she had heard that outcasts from the tribes had been sent to Yael years back, but after that she had put them out of her mind. She found herself somewhat ashamed to realize that she had never thought much about what the impact on the native people must have been upon suddenly sharing their island with the warrior minded Alkidike. They weren't fond of outsiders, she wondered what it must have been like for the outcasts to find themselves banished to a strange land. Prala shuddered, wondering what would happen if those outcasts ever managed to turn their eyes back to these shores. They would have no reason to think kindly of any of the rest of the world, of course they would take their fury out on the Yaeli.

She appreciated their pain, but still couldn't bring herself to turn her back on the Alkidike remaining in Juahar, her home. And she firmly believed that the Dretch were a threat that would not remain confined.

"Its a long way to Juahar, how do they plan to move us all there? I wonder if the Alkidike would even welcome our presence, this will not be a simple campaign."

She blinked in surprise at the newcomer, but offered him a polite smile. "You must be Shierra's brother, I can see the resemblance. I'm Prala" she nodded in greeting, "Shierra told me you were there, that day in Zena. So was I. What will you do? "

Tytus Post 6

"Hopefully a couple of weeks." Replied Tytus quietly as he too surveyed the crowds. It was a mess right now, but nothing seemed to be getting too crazy. Still his hand tightened around his lance as a reaction as some of the groups surged forward to voice their opinions to the leaders.

Sheesh. What's the point of these meetings when they could just spread pamphlets? He shook his head before daring to shoot a grin towards Saraf, "As much as I hate to say at least we can hope for some excitement should we march? I'm eager to see what evil these things truly are. Surely they can bleed just like anything else in this world."

Kitya - 4

As she stayed with her family Kitya noticed movement nearby - something not like the rest because it was someone at her own height. Gaze widening as she studied a rather strange looking Yaeli boy the girl grinned and waved. What was he doing here and why were his gems so bright? Something was strange for sure!

Valek - 6

Valek had to dart around several legs as the crowd began to protest again but his efforts did pay off as he managed to catch sight of the Yaeli family again. He was just so startled to see someone else near his age in the meeting that he coudln't help staring! But as one of the girls noticed him and waved the boy's cheeks darkened to a new shade never before seen as he slowly raised a hand to wave back. He had waved, but what did he do now?

At least his father was nearby...that much he made certain to keep track of.

Kitya - 5

Giggling as she noticed the flush Kitya continued to wave. But then she paused so that she could tug at her sister, "Xenia...there's something funny about him, right? But look! At least he seems to be near our age, right?" It was nice to see someone young for once instead of all these cranky adults!

Saraf Post 7

"That sounds like a fair amount of time and possibly enough of it to get the various units that they want to send organized." He found himself wondering if they would want to send his unit or if it would be a matter of acting as volunteers? Would they call for full units of the army or would they pick and choose who went? He found himself thinking on the strategic aspects of it all. It would likely be best to send warriors from various units, something that would allow them have diverse skills and abilities that would come together and allowed to fight harder.

Glancing over at Tytus he thought on his comment, then nodded, "It could be interesting to test ones' skills against such creature. I don't feel comfortable though given their ability to appear and disappear, it's going to be the most difficult thing to overcome I feel. Once we get that figured out we will be able to fight them on more even footing." It made him want to talk it over with his wife, to get her perspective as a caster. It felt as though those with magic might be the most important people going forward, especially if there was a way they could cut off the escape of those bug mages somehow.

The Only Black Uke

Finnufarinel l 6

The hand that had, ever so briefly, touched his shoulder was not entirely unwelcome. It was surprising, certainly one that caused Finn's body to jerk and turn speculative eyes towards Kedean. There was no pity there, which is what he'd been prepared for, and for a moment his stoke ire had no where to turn. It simmered just beneath the skin, soaking down into his marrow without any of the platitudes like "I'm sorry" to jolt him.

And surprisingly enough, even after the oban girl spoke her apologies he still wasn't....right. What the hell was he was supposed to say when someone acknowledged their faults? Nothing good came to mind, certainly nothing that wouldn't completely demean her, and he found that he actually kind of didn't want that. For the moment, at least.

"They are terrible; which is what I've been trying to tell everyone. I don't care if they split off into groups; people do that all the time, it doesn't make one side any better."

It was easy to hate the alkidike, but people were complicated.

“I will be going nowhere for this conflict…until the battle is brought to Oba, my place is here.”

"Good, then we agree." Finn nodded his head, standing a little taller now that he'd properly vented some of his inner steam. There was still a great sense of unease around him, one that wanted this stupid meeting to be over with already so they could go back to their lives and let those bug bitches burn, but...it was an improvement.

"I'm staying here and if anyone tries tellin' me I got'ta work with the alkidike I'll burn 'em from the inside out."

Adenah ll 6

"Sounds like they're still bickering." The teen mused, turning her attention back to the 'center stage'. Besian's voice rang loud and clear over most of the others, though some were a little more determined to keep arguing.

“While it’s nice to say forgive and forget it’s really not that possible! They’re probably willing to stab us all in the back! And I know firsthand from living next to them that they were terrors! I’m sure these Yaeli know that as well!”

Adenah hadn't lived the entirety of her life in Jauhar, but she had enough experience with the alk to know them as tricky. She'd seen just as many 'good' souls drift through her village as she had heard horror stories. Missing hunter? Probably alk bait. Spear buried in the wheel of your cart? Alk did it. Gout? Alk curse. With as many old wives tales and folk stories you'd think it would be easy enough to figure out what was actually real, but no, unsurprisingly, they just made it all worse.

"I don't think it's a great idea to trust them, but I kind of like having a house. My vote is with helping them; can't be much worse than being snatched up by a Dretch, right?"

Taijana - 5

"I won't die for someone who would skewer me if I turned my back."

Taijana was beyond frustrated. The tips of her ears burned, and she felt her chest inflating. "What is wrong with you? Can't you see that no one wants this! I don't want my girls growing up with a mounting against....against....oh, I don't know what! Magical black bugs!" And yet, the shifters still looked at them as if they were stupid. One even had the audacity to curl his lip before they moved on, shuffling into a crowd of discontent souls.

It was enough to put Taijana in a mood. She had tears prickling at the corners of her eyes, born from frustration more than anything else. There wasn't anyone alive who would ever wish for something like this, but she...she couldn't just stand back and let it go sour.

"They think I'm hysterical. They didn't even listen to us."

Xenia ll 5

Even though they'd presented a strong, united front the shifters still weren't listening. Xenia suspected it was something to do with all of that hair; with so much cotton hanging around your ears how were you supposed to hear? Even with her parents talking to them they turned and left, which was good enough for her. Let them go!

She was so busy huffing after the departing shifters that at first Xenia payed little attention to Kitya's newest find. Her glasses had wormed their way down her nose, barely resting on the tip, when Xenia finally looked over.

"I bet he's a hurr-berd. Looks like one, right?" Sticky little fingers pushed her glasses back up onto her smiling face. First she'd seen shifters, and while they were a let down, they were still neat to look at. And now...now she was seeing a real oddity! "Cuz he's kinda like us, but also not. Think he's gonna fight? That's what boys are supposed to do, right?"

Shierra post 7

With a huff at her brother, she wiggled out of his grasp and grinned. "Koril, come on. I don't get inta fights." Grin sharpening, she punched one fist into an open palm. "I finish 'em." When Prala posed the question to her brother, she looked up at her sibling curiously. He wasn't one for fighting, but for the right cause... surely he felt the same. "We're gonna go fight the bad guys, right?"
