Bottom of the 2nd, 2 outs, 0 Puffs VS. 5 Stuffs
Charlie hit a single, runners advance two bases. Runners on first and third.
Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Charlie was pretty sure this was a huge nightmare that she was in. The bases were loaded, there were two outs, she was up to bad, and for good measure she glanced down to make sure she was still wearing clothes. The last thing she needed was to do all of this naked.
She swallowed back her nerves. It was just a game after all. A game with surprisingly competitive players who would probably be super upset with her for failing them all. Well, it wasn’t as though they weren’t already on the board. That was good, right? She just needed to go out there and try her best.
Stepping up to the plate, Charlie drew in a deep breath, and smiled brightly at Fritz as she waited for the first pitch. It was better to smile and have a good time! She was determined to play her best, but not be too upset if Fritz managed to get the balls in the strike zone.
The pitch came, she hit as hard as she could and -- somehow it got past the infield!
Charlie booked it down the first baseline, and was in the process of turning towards second when the ball was being thrown back. She came to a stop on the bag with a sigh of relief. It looked like two runners managed to get home!
“Hello!” she smiled brightly at the player on first, hoping they were having a good time, too. She felt a little bad that they were winning, but the other team had plenty of time to catch up!

Xander Jacobs / Team Stuffs Bottom of the 2nd, 2 Outs, 0 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs (I think)Xander hits a double! Runners on 2nd and 3rd now? Xander was received a pat on his back from his cousin, but he wasn't particularly upset because at least he had managed to hit the ball which was nice. He made his way back to the bench to watch the other's bat and cheer them on offering smiles and thumbs up to everyone going up and coming back. He felt the excitement building as it seemed they score quite a few runs this inning and he felt more at ease than when the game started. When it was his turn to bat again he was less nervous, but still a bundle of nerves. Though hopefully if he hit it once he could hit it again and maybe this time the ball wouldn't be caught. There he was again with his awkward stance and sure his hands were wrong, but he watched the ball as it was pitched and was shocked as ball met bat and went soaring decently. He stood there momentarily though he took off running when he was sure he heard someone shout for him to do so. He touched first and kept right on to second, stopping there when he saw he might get out if he kept going, for the ball was gathered up. He gave a wave to Dessie and pulled his hat down a little further to shield his eyes from the sun. They got another run just then and that was exciting, maybe he'd make it back to home plate this inning. Even if he didn't it felt great to have made it on base. He turned his attention back to the game as Quenton was up to bat.

Mi-Hi Harrington / Team PUFFS (3rd Base)Bottom of the 2nd, 2 Outs, 0 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs They had gotten as far as getting the bases loaded before getting knocked out and as Mi-Hi trudged back out to third base she determined that she was going to do her part in helping to get the Puffs back up to back up to bat–
They had be sooo close this time round, so very close and she was sure that when they were up next that they'd be able to score for sure.
She wasn't expecting the bit of deadlock going between the two sides to be broken by the blond-haired batter for the Stuffs (Quenten) sending the ball flying over the fence...
Or that it would be followed by the Stuffs loading up the bases and she gave a flustered smile to the Stuffs player that winked at here (Ming-Na Han).

Although she wasn't really very good at game faces and the Stuffs run of good luck was continuing - and whilst they had managed to knock two of them out they were still at 6 to their 0...
But the game was still on and they only had to knock one more person out and then it would the Puffs turn to bat again.
One more person out - she could do this–
Or maybe try to do her part to help do this was probably more apt.

Briar Mackenzie / CROWD Bottom of the 2nd, 2 Outs, 0 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs Whilst Briar generally tended to dislike it when people butted in with offers of help, he found that he didn't really mind it that much when said offers came from Peter or Benji.
"Thanks" and whilst the tone of his voice was a little gruff he really did mean it.
The game seemed to be shaping up to be a pretty boring one with neither side seeming to be able to score and so he reached down to munch on some of the nachos that he'd picked up and absently offered them over in case Peter wanted some too.
"I'm free pretty much all summer too" he admitted. "Although the teachers loaded me up with a ton of homework to do over the holidays."
Well at least it felt like a ton of homework, although Briar wasn't sure if it was an Azure Valley thing or an end of first year of high school thing.
He couldn't imagine preparing to start up college as Peter would be doing after the summer - but then he kind of had time before he had to start thinking of college applications–
After all he had only started high school this year.
"Of course I'll help with both or either" there was no hesitation at all in Briar's voice as he spoke, his head nodding firmly.
Adding "With either the spotting or collecting information on um stuff or whatever."
There was a roar from the crowd at that point as the blond batter from the Stuffs (Quenten) suddenly broke the deadlock by hitting a home run, the game suddenly picking up as it was followed by continuing successful bats from the other Stuffs players causing the team to start to accumulate points.

Colin Hargrove | CROWDAlthough his Friend-in-Peril sense was going off, he had to accept Chris' insistence that he was okay. "Fatigue can be awful for an athlete." He truly hoped that it wasn't anything serious - maybe it was related to their Alternate lives? Was Chris suffering from something on his powered side? It was certainly possible, but the ball game was definitely not the place to ask, so Colin held his tongue. And then, the most amazing thing happened: Quenton hit a home run. Colin's eyes went wide and he jumped five feet off the ground, cheering wildly as he waved the pom-poms in recognition of his best friend's accomplishment. He would have run out onto the field to tackle Quenton if it had been the final play of the game, but although they were nearing the end it wasn't that time yet. "Go Quenton, GO!" He turned back to Chris, excited and bouncing around. "Did you see that? Ohmygod, I can't believe it! Pasi Järvinen | CROWD"Sure." It was proper to respond to thanks, right? No point in being rude to Yuuri, he was largely inoffensive as a human being, so Pasi gave him some leeway. But the comment about him being friendly with cats got a side-eye over his can of beer just as the lanky scarred guy hit a home run that caused the cheer-leading dude to lose his s**t. "They're better company than most people." Truth, but perhaps not for the reason that Yuuri might think. In reality Pasi cared very little for animals - in general - but the pair of Mauvians were different. They were technological wonders and aliens, which was really damn cool. "Best watch yourself, Bob at least is very good at getting what he wants." Yuuri was teasing two hyper-intelligent Mauvians with something they obviously wanted. He was playing a dangerous game. Tiberius | CROWDThe kid was teasing them. Bob had the right idea, reaching for the kid in a manner that said "give me that ********' chicken". His bro was pushing on Yuuri's arm, so Tiberius slowly made his way to the other side of the young man in a pincer movement. "Mrooowwwwlll." Yuuri would find himself with one cat pushing at one arm, and another pushing at his shoulder and pushing his furry face into Yuuri's face as Pasi chuckled over his beer.

Quenton Marinus ⚾ Team STUFFS Bottom of the 2nd, 2 Outs, 0 Puffs VS. 6 StuffsRunners on 2nd and 3rd nowThe rally turned out incredible, with cheers coming from the crowd and the team looked a little more lively. They were finally getting interested instead of just rote motions for the sake of charity. Other than that Durand, who seemed genuinely to enjoy just being out and having fun no matter if there was or wasn't a score on the board. It came back to where it started, though, and Quenton found himself back up at the plate, with runners wanting to be batted in. He wasn't used to sports, by a long shot, anymore. It was a different sort of pressure. If I had a team, worked with other regularly, I wonder if this would feel less or more? Or if it would be more tenable, at the least. Another Home Run wasn't likely. Getting on base was all he needed to do. But there was too much eagerness to do even that, and not enough focus- the first two pitches he foul balled down the first base line, and the last was a swing and a miss for a strike out. Third out, alas. The inning was done and they had to switch, to defend, their new lead against a Puffs rally. The other team was going to be hungry to not get shut out and close that gap. Or to better it.

Cordelia Carden / Team Puffs Top of the 3rd, 1 Outs, 0 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs It was Cordelia's hope to do something to even the score with her second time up to bat. The Stuffs had made it round through their batting lineup and the least thing the Puffs could do was get a few runners on base before knocking one out of the park. Her turn to bat was a bit delayed as she worked her way out of the catcher's gear, muttering soft curses beneath her breath. Kat, the girl who had joined the team last minute, was doing her best to lend a hand but the raven haired woman really wasn't making it easy on her. Cordy swapped out a catcher's mask for a batting helmet and approached the plate. She gave the bat a few practice swings as she waited for the pitcher to signal to his catcher that he was ready, losing track of everything at the last second as she caught sight of pompoms waving high in the air followed by a leggy blonde cheering... her name? "Colin?" She'd forgotten to draw the bat back before the pitch came, the ball rolling in. She cursed, this time aloud, adjusting her stance just in time to bunt the ball towards the ground. It rolled right back to the pitcher, and in turn wound up in the hands of the first baseman before she even had a chance to register that she should have tried, at the very least, to make a run for it. " Bollocks." One very disappointed Carden passed the bat off to her cousin before flopping down onto the bench.

When Cordy forgot to run he winced knowing she was going to hold that against herself for the rest of the game. The game was fun but he knew Cordy would want to win and so far they were doing pretty bad. Putting on his helmet he swing the bat a few times before stepping up to the plate. He was expecting another miserable bat like the last time but squared up anyway. As the bat cracked against the ball he was surprised to see it go sailing out toward the outfield and he managed to shake off the surprise enough to run to first base. Half panting and half laughing he managed to skid to a stop on the base a moment before the ball landed in the baseman's glove.

Izobel Beckett - Team Puffs
Top of 3rd, 1 out, Runner on 1st (( Puffs 0 vs Stuffs 6 )) Izobel wasn't sure what had happened last inning. The deadlocked tie of zero-zero had been smashed through. Team Stuffs had led the inning with a home run and then the runs kept coming in. It was all she could do to manage attempting some good base work but it seemed that the odds were always against getting the ball in time to attempt to tag someone out or it was forced walks. Now she wanted to redeem herself in front of her team. With quiet determination Izzy stepped up to home plate and once again settled down to wait for the right pitch in her books. It took maybe two pitches before she decided to hit at what came her way next. Swinging the bat through the air Izobel could feel the bat connect with the softball and dropped the bat in surprise before attempting to get to first base. It wasn't meant to be though. Izzy could hear a Stuffs player call that they "had" the ball and a moment later as she approached the first base bag she heard the dreaded words "You're out!" from the umpire. So much for a comeback rally. Shrugging her shoulders Izobel marched off the field and back to the Team Puffs dugout. It looked like it could be another quick inning.

This game had become more interesting then he could have ever imagined. one after another he watched as his team and the other team competed for the win. And before he knew it is was his Time to bat. He stepped up to the plate and readied himself for whatever might come his way. Burying his feet in the dirt and tapping the bat on the ground. "here i go." Sadly though he hit it in a way it became a bunt and he was out. Man such a quick round again. He thought as he walked back to the dugout. Today was not his day.Ivynian Garron Davidson is up I think and Ming-Na Han on deck?

She cheered as she heard her team was up again. it took no time at all. Looks like she chose the right team. She smiled and meowed as she bent down and ate the food and drank the water the little girl had put out for her. She thought her name was Sabrina. She wasn't really sure she just occasionally cuddled on her bed or saw her around the hotel. Either way she couldn't complain when someone was bringing her food. So she quickly rubbed up against her as she finished and then went back to cheering or meowing for her team! "Go stuffs you guys have got this in the bag!" she said well all in meows of course.

She was so happy to see how happy bella was. She petted her and went back to the bleachers. This game was definitely interesting and this was the first time bella had ever acted this way towards her. It made her beyond happy, as she pranced back in sat down for the next round. "Go stuffs," she cheered with a smile! She couldn't wait to tell her dad and friends about today as soon as she got a chance. It was one of the most fun days she had had in awhile.

Mi-Hi Harrington / Team PUFFS (3rd Base)Bottom of the 3rd, 0 Outs, 0 Puffs VS. 6 Stuffs Their next turn at bat had gone pretty much like their previous turns and whilst Mi-Hi had managed to get as far as getting up on deck, the Puffs had been knocked out before she could get a turn at bat.
It was a short trip back to the dugout in order to grab some water and to get ready and then she was once again out to take her place on third base.
"We can do this" she called out cheerfully, although the words weren't really directed at any particular member of her team mates.
But there was still time - right?
Right?
And okay so Team Puffs had yet to score, the game was not yet over.
Mi-Hi kept hold of that thought as she waited for play to start up again, determined that she was going to try do her best–
Even if her best wasn't and hadn't been that great so far.

Mauvian Eta / Crowd The slender feline made a sound that sounded very much like a snort as Felix took a moment to dote on her hat. She doubted very much that she was the 'cutest' kitty there, especially knowing that Sumi was off somewhere playing mascot to one of the two teams. There were two tom cats somewhere in the stands two who were large enough to fill out a cap a bit better than she was, probably making it look better in that aspect as well. A small part of her wished that she could tell Felix that she knew the young man in the cheer costume and would be only to happy to introduce them if he was a fan. She wanted to let him know that she was on good terms with a few players in the field as well-- including her senshi, the young woman who had been one of the last few to do awful at bat. Instead, she ignored her hat, rising up with her paws on his chest to butt her head gently against his chin. He seemed to enjoy the attention and she wasn't going to complain about it much either. It also meant that she could get away with speaking a few soft words. "It's good to see you out and about today."
