Andrea was about to give her usual sarcastic response when her eyes fell to Owen. "Yeah, take care of Owen. Just get us the keys to the Owen-mobile before you leave, and we'll meet you later." She had no idea where in his costume Owen kept his keys and she wasn't about to go looking for them. Owen had gone completely non-responsive so Andrea wasn't totally sure he even knew what was happening at this point. "You can drive right?"

Katrina merely nodded.

Sam took Owen back to his house and assumed Andrea had done the same for Katrina because when Andrea eventually returned to the Stable, Katrina was not with her. Owen had gone into his room and he didn't come out for the next two days. When he came out on the third day he didn't say anything to anyone. Instead he lumbered down to the Stable and spent seven hours working on the computer before returning to his room in silence. Efforts to speak to him were either ignored or stopped with a hand gesture from Owen. He didn't want to talk to anyone. He just wanted time to think about everything that he'd seen in that lab and everything he now knew to be fact. Alice was gone. There was no hope that he could ever feel the same love he had felt for her. It was the void- the lack of hope- that really got to Owen. Seeing Katrina had made him hope again and finding Alice had ripped that hope apart. Then there was the issue of his daughter and where her body was. That was it's own can of worms and dark thoughts that Owen had to process. Ultimately he didn't come to any conclusion relating to his daughter and he wasn't sure he ever would. The last issue- which had only really taken about half a day to think through- was Katrina. He didn't know whether to leave her to live out her life or to become a constant problem in it. She deserved peace but not everyone got what they deserved. There were other factors to consider and on April 15th when Owen had finally decided what he wanted to do he told the team. There was an argument- as there often is- and Andrea had been the deciding vote. So Owen got in his car and drove back down to Katrina's house where he knocked on the door and patiently waited for her to open it.

Katrina found herself feeling rather lost. She had always been driven, putting everything she had into her mission. Now that mission was complete, but the answer had left her uncertain of what was next. She knew who she was now. A clone. That meant she had no past. The friends, family and old life she had been trying to track down simply exist. She only had two years of memories because that was how long she was alive. So what did she do now? When you have infinite possibilities people often chose none. She spent the few days cleaning her home. It had been left a mess from the fight, and when the cops didn't show up afterwards some people had helped themselves to some of the stuff inside. It was too be expected in this sort of run down neighbourhood and she didn't really think badly of her neighbours for it. It wasn't like she owned anything sentimental anyway. By the time Owen arrived both doors had been replaced. The window upstairs still had a tarp over it, but a new one had been ordered. Everything had been picked up and swept and there was a large pile of broken furniture outside.

Katrina was in the middle of mudding a wall when there was a knock at the door. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and she was wearing jeans and a tan t-shirt all speckled with white from her home repair efforts. When she opened the door it was obvious she was surprised. She hadn't expected to see Owen again. Honestly, she thought he would never want to look at her again. "Owen!" There was a slight pause as she processed just who was on her doorstep. "Come in." She added, stepping back so he could enter. "It's a bit of mess... do you want some tea?" Really she wanted to ask why he was there but thought it better to let him tell her in his own time.

It was harder than Owen thought it would be to see Katrina again. She still looked like Alice and while he thought he was over it... she had a way of making it hurt again. Still it wasn't her fault so Owen tried not to show his discomfort as he stepped into her house and looked at probably everything he could aside from Katrina. "I'm alright." Owen declined the tea because it wasn't a drink he partook in by choice. There had been a period where a lot of the Horsemen's healing methods had been through various teas and Owen thought they all tasted like crap so he hasn't really tried tea since. He noted that she had begun to repair things and recognized the reaction as the same one he had after the first purge of his team. He had spent hours washing the same few dishes because he thought that they were still dirty. They weren't. Owen was wearing jeans and a black long sleeve henley with the sleeves pulled up to his forearm which was casual given that the last time she'd seen him he had been going full murder in a vigilante costume. "I was coming by to see how you were doing given everything that happened." Owen explained.

Katrina closed the door behind Owen and then locked it. Presumably, the man who was after her was now in custody, but old habits died hard. Besides, there was always the possibility he had associates after her. She led Owen passed a waiting room sort of looking area, which she had used for her healing business, and into the house proper. Here was where most of her home repair efforts had taken place. It felt a bit strange given that she had never brought someone back here before. Between the fighting and the looting the place was fairly desolate, so at the very least she didn't need to worry about him judging her interior decorating skills.

"Oh." Came the single word of surprise after he stated his reason for stopping by. "I'm alright." She answered, flashing a smile as if to prove she really was alright. "Just a bit uncertain of what I'm going to next. But what about you?" Owen seemed a lot better than the last time she had seen him, but she couldn't help but feel there was some alternative reason to why he had shown up at her doorstep than merely checking up on her. Facing her couldn't be easy. Even now he was looking at everything in the room except her.

Owen didn't believe her. The deadpan look on his face at the sound of her answer would make that much clear. Then again he wasn't looking at her so maybe his face wasn't plainly visible. He was looking at the walls and floor and bits of remaining furniture as some part of an effort not to look at her. He had to remind himself that it wasn't her fault that things were the way they were. She didn't ask to be cloned. She didn't ask to bear all the expectations Owen had. He wanted to refute Katrina's claim that she was fine but it wasn't his place and he knew that. Owen was trying to accept more limitations and that was one. He needed to set boundaries in how he acted around Katrina, even if she refused the offer he came with. Nothing would be the same while he knew she was alive. "I'm not alright." He finally answered as he looked down at his hands. He wouldn't have told anyone else the things he was going to tell her because she had a familiar face at the very least. A face that- despite everything that made it hard to look at- somewhat comforted him. A face that he looked at for the first time as he said, "I was hopeful and it hurt me. Now I'll probably go back to working. Protect the city. Protect people. It'll keep my mind off... things. It always has." Katrina might have noted that everything Owen said related to her and not to the discovery about his daughter. He was avoiding it because he was not ready to talk about it.

An uncomfortable silence stretched out between them on the heels of Katrina's question. Owen was still busy looking at anything in the room but her. She couldn't help but feel like he was regretting coming here. Her answer hadn't been a lie, but it wasn't exactly the whole truth either. She didn't want to burden him with her problems on top of everything else. Kat watched Owen as the silence continued, uncertain of what she should do or say to him. "I'm not alright." He finally spoke, but the admission filled Katrina with apprehension. There was nothing she could do to make to make it better. Then he finally looked at her, but what he said next felt more like a punch to the stomach. "Owen I'm sorry. I had hoped too..." She paused seeming to catch herself and then change what she had been about to say. ".....but I'm not her."

"No. You're not. I'm sorry I put that on you." Owen replied quietly. He broke eye contact as his gaze drifted back to the floor. He had a point to get to. A reason for being here. When all else confused him, his emotions and feelings, he could remember why he came. That drove him to ask "What are you going to do now? I know you said you were uncertain but you must have something? No connections can be pretty good for someone who runs a business like you do."

“I can’t blame you. I would have done the same.” Katrina answered, likewise looking away. She had done the same. For a few brief hours, she had her missing identity. Her missing family. Her missing life. Everything she had been searching for, only for it to be taken away in an instant. Another awkward silence filled the space between them until Owen spoke again. Her eyes shifted back to him. She was on the verge of brushing off the question again or perhaps making up some lie. Her short life had been spent living alone and in secrecy. Being open and honest went against everything she knew. Yet it seemed important to Owen to know what she was going to do next given he had asked her twice and after everything he deserved some honesty from her. “The business was never something I wanted to do.” Katrina began with a small sigh. She pushed off the counter she had been leaning against and walked around Owen towards the window overlooking the backyard. “I take no pleasure in aiding the criminal underworld, but it kept me fed, a roof over my head and gave me the means to pursue my real task. I had – have – no identity. No means of legitimately making money. And I was hiding from them." She stopped in front of the window. It was Katrina's turn to avoid looking at Owen, suddenly becoming extremely interested in her own backyard as another silence stretched out.

Katrina took the next few moments to organize her thoughts. What to tell him and how to say it. Already she had told him a lot more than she had planned too. "Everything I've done was for one thing. Finding my identity. I was so certain I had family and friends and a life all waiting for me out there. People looking for me as hard as I was looking for them. Once I found it I'd pick off where I left off..."] There was another short pause. "I still feel like my own person, but knowing there is no one out there....no friends or family..." She stopped again, feeling tears well up which she furiously blinked back. "To answer your question Owen, I have no idea what I will do next."

"I have an idea," Owen began as he stepped towards Katrina. "My team used to have four members. Not great for voting but it keeps us all in check. We currently have three. I have a big house so we'd have space..." Owen's sentence faded and he seemed to be rethinking what he wanted to say but he seemed to catch himself and make a decision. "Would you like to join the team? I don't expect you to be her but your powers are helpful and we get hurt a lot." Owen wasn't great at this and the fact that she was a clone didn't help make it any less weird but the team really could use a healer. He could provide a house to live in, food to eat, and something worth doing but they'd have to live with the weird stuff.

Katrina looked back at Owen, her expression going from one of hardly contained sorrow to that of one of shock and confusion. Her brows drew together forming a line between her eyebrows, while her mouth was wide open in stunned surprise. "You want me to live with you?" Her tone matched her expression. One of total disbelief as she repeated what he said as if to confirm she had heard correctly. Then she blinked, realizing how rude she must have sounded and scrambled to backtrack, her next words all coming out in a rush. "It's not that...it's just...I didn't think you would ever want to see my face again."

Finally, the cogs in her brain seemed to catch once more, forming coherent thoughts rather than spinning wildly. He was offering a future when she had none currently. She had a feeling he had spent a lot of time thinking about this in the last couple of days and clearly struggled enough in the asking that she wasn't going to pester him with 'are you sure'. "I would be honoured to join your team. Besides," A small grin crept up on her lips. "I have a feeling you might send Sam to kidnap me again if I say no."
