Cillian hadn't immediately noticed the small Kumiho approaching him until he felt her hand on his finger. He blinked, starting just slightly, and turned his head to stare down. Ah-.. His ears flicked forward to hear her more clearly as she spoke. This wasn't entirely unlike the little ones back home... granted they could usually hold onto more than just a finger. "Hello Shisume." Cillian considered leaning down, or perhaps taking a knee or something... But such a position would leave him more vulnerable. "Did you have a question?" He tiled his head slightly.
His attention was drawn away for a moment as Styx spoke up again. Seemed the Naiad was feeling better after her fainting spell. "Yes, are are. Infertility in our race does not seem to have a tie to genetics, two fertile parents could very well have infertile children. They are paired by compatibility to bloodlines. Batteries are very rare with us. There are only a handful of them. Since they are able to help infertile couples reproduce they do assist in that manner, but we monitor our population closely anyway so it doesn't really affect things in the long run."

Styx's big eyes lidded slightly as she considered his words, putting her full attention to picturing and processing what he'd said. Even something simple, like this, was more difficult to do in public, especially when she considered how many peoples' eyes on her....
She nodded decisively as the crux of his answer finally pierced the anxious fog in her brain.
Oh! Of course. If they lived in hiding in one elven city, bloodlines needed to be carefully-curated, otherwise, there could be terrible consequences. She nodded gravely, considering this for a moment, before finally realizing that she was sitting quiet in front of one of the microphones.
She finished with a "That makes sense. Thank you," and stepped back, letting someone else have their bit. It was good to know, at least, that the infertile among the Sluagh's numbers weren't unable to have children.

Did she have a question? Shisume's ears flicked about and her free hand wandered up to her mouth to nervously chew her hand. She heard her brother tsk and her hand popped right back out again. He didn't like her chewing on herself, mostly because she tended to do so until she bled. She looked back at Hitotsu while still holding Cillian's hand, and then her ears all swiveled forward again and she looked up at Cillian again.
"Do you want a hug?" She peeped. "You look sad. I like hugs when I feel sad."Total: 5

Icarus had been completely mystified by Daedalus’ sudden and straight-shooting speech. He knew Daedalus well, and had been wondering when the lunar cherub would finally speak up. He did not disappoint. Icarus took a page out of Daedalus’ book to absorb the words that followed – from the crowd, and from Cillian. A cultural exchange might prove to be an invaluable experience, and with the promise of a Naga party and with such a wonderful geist offering their assistance, it seemed hard to find reasons to argue against it. The naga and the geist were not the only ones to volunteer. It seemed as if most of the voices that had spoken up before were now offering their times, their homes, their ways to the sluagh and cherubs. Hmmmn … it … certainly left an entirely different taste in his mouth – one far sweeter than the previous flavour he had experienced after his foot-in-mouth comment. Icarus almost felt … moved. Tears welled up in his eyes, raising clasped hands just under his chin and the cherub breathed in deeply, as if inhale some sort of delicious aroma. ”Yes, I think a cultural exchange is a grand idea! I would love a chance to see more of the cultures here, if the Academy approves with our shadowing!”The cherub’s eyes watered for an entirely different reason as somebody made the grave mistake of mentioning food. Icarus sniffed. ”S-snacks … ?’Now his mind couldn’t focus on anything else. He was absolutely ravenous! Icarus really wanted to talk about the solar courting rituals. It was a great question that had been asked, and honestly, courting was Icarus’ favourite thing to do when growing up. But the hunger was causing his stomach to grumble and growl, almost loud enough for the microphone to pick it up. Thankfully it wasn’t quite loud enough, else Icarus might have died from embarrassment!

Cillian nodded in response to Styx, then turned his attention back to Shisume. A hug. He blinked, thankful in this moment that he'd never been very expressive... at least facially. His ears twitched a little, unsure if they wanted to perk upright or drop down a few inches- he was thinking, and fast. "Ah... I am not sad, just tired." He finally responded, slow and measured as if he were approaching the topic with utmost care. Still, it was rude to brush children this young off (never mind that he'd sort of done the same with Ledie....). "If you would like, I will not turn it down." He finally nodded an affirmation.
Ah, Icarus had responded to the idea. He looked back over to the stage and was surprised to see that he hadn't dramatically laid himself over the table in a display of just how famished he was. Perhaps he'd thought better of it. "Perhaps we should break for a meal, and then resume? We have not eaten in some time..." He paused, considering, then looked back to the crowd. "You could tell us what a popular evening meal is at the Academy. It is probably different from what we eat at home."

Ooh! Food. Food was a great topic, with so many right answers. What to suggest, though? What would they like, what would curry favour with the three of them? It had been a while since Chaesh had attended the academy, and they didn't have the fondest memories of the food available there.
Chaesh grinned as a spark hit them, leaning forward into their pace as they walked towards the mike decisively, making someone else stop lest he bump into them. "There's a festival going on outside. You should look around and get all the fried foods and candies while they're available– they're a limited-time thing!"

Eisetsu nodded to Cillian, Icaras and Daedalus. Then she said "I don't go home very often I spend most of my time at the academy studying, so when I remember eating is important, I go to the academy cafeteria to see what they are serving, I am not very picky. What sorts of food do each of your races like?? Savory, Salty, Sweet??" She asked curiously. Ledie smiled and said "My favorite food is pizza!! Though my uncle won't let me have it ever night of the week. Sometimes he serves like meat, vegetables, then if I eat my vegetables I get desert like ice cream, pie, pudding!!" She had made a face about the vegi's Ledie wasn't a broccoli fan.

Styx had finally calmed down now that the idea of an exchange of students had been brought up, thinking of a few people that would like to do such a thing. Now she was back to her emotionless expression, letting out a sigh before speaking again ", There are plenty of places to go and eat, and like it has already been said there is a festival going on at which has lots of food."There was one thing that still bugged her about all this though, their world seemed to be flogged with limited freedoms in the name of safety and security. Limits that as of right now in this world were not needed. War was over, so why continue? Was it fear of something new? Whatever it was, she knew now wasn't the time to ask. That and she had classes to get to soon. Quote: Day 1: 7 Day 2: 6 Points total: 13

Food. Shisume's tummy rumbled right on cue and she looked around for her brother, only to find out he was no longer there! Her ears shot up in alarm and she looked around frantically, leaving Cillian's side for the first time since finding him to climb up on a chair and look around again from her new vantage point, straining eyes unused to distance in a desperate attempt to see her sibling and guardian. Had he abandoned her?!
Just when she was about ready to start wailing however, she saw him entering the room again without her nephew. Apparently Hitotsu had handed his son off to someone, and it was easy for Shisume to assume it was to one of the kitsune he trusted to be kind to the Hallowed children in his care. She sniffled and her ears drooped in relief, but coming down from the fright meant she was still feeling frightened. She climbed back down from the chair and went back to Cillian. She held her arms up to him, sniffling again with ears drooped and quivering, her dark eyes wide and brimming with tears. She needed a hug now, and he was the nearest adult she had decdied she could trust.Total: 5

Zoey had been standing toward the back of the auditorium and watching the Q&A session. She was very interested in meeting these new individuals that had traveled so far in the name of those stones who had been awakened in Below and were their's. This was starting to look like it could be similar to what had happened with the Grimm all those years ago. She was worried those kids that had found homes would be taken away, especially when the conversation took a little turn for the worst.
It was understandable, this came at a rather shakey time for Below. They had just avoided one disaster and everyone was on edge. Everyone was sensitive, but Zoey could understand the laws these Cherub had in place. They were to be respected, she could understand that despite having a very diverse family herself.
Things had settled down a bit now and it was mentioned that an exchange program could work well to possibly interrogate themselves into a new culture. The idea of going to Elysium and teaching a Dance class sounded like an amazing idea. It finally felt like the right time for her to speak up.
"An exchange sounds like a wonderful idea. My name is Zoey, and I'm a teacher here at the Academy. I would love to have you all in my class, if it's something you would like. It would be fun to go to your city, Elysium and teach as well. Maybe even have one or your teachers in my class? It would be just a wonderful learning experience for my children. I love teaching them all different aspects of Dance." Zoey was definitely passionate about her students.

It was then that something occurred to her. Obviously they were somewhat used to technology due to traveling down here and they seemed comfortable with the mics. If they had tourists to see the Rammykins then they were somewhat familiar with the modern day and they had to have some form of communication if they learned about the stones, but couldn’t they have just used the internet and learned all about below. Even if that was really not a reliable source for getting to know a culture, but then there was the fact that they hadn’t reacted or come down when the stones where plastered all over Below’s news. Ah but then interworld communication wasn’t exactly her field. She dealt more with long dead peeps. She opened her mouth to ask their level of technology, but then that would be rude wouldn’t it and they had just barely gotten their second chance. Plus wouldn’t it just fall under the whole… why do you have big hands question that wasn't received so well? “Well it depends on where you are from originally and how you were raised I suppose. I tend to like pasta dishes and the like. There is actually a really nice restaurant a few blocks from the school that a lot of juniors and seniors like to go to. If candy and sweet things aren't your thing” Yue suggested. Plus it was the first restaurant she had gone to with Draven so she was fond of it. "Or my children are bottomless pits. I can share some of my own snacks if you don't mind fruit."points= 5

It seemed that the large-handed Sluagh wasn't particularly concerned with food at the moment, and that was ok. But Sesha did worry about these strangers. They all appeared so tired and worn, but he wouldn't force anyone to eat, of course. He was about to put the basket of snacks away when Icarus seemed to brighten. Wait... were his eyes watering? Sesha's large ears twitched upwards a little. "Ah... Yes..." He hesitated before slithering up to the stage, mindful of toes, tails, and freshlings. He held up the basket. "I made snacks, and you... are more then welcome to have them." Should he get up on the stage to hand them to the poor cherub? Well, why not? He looked uncertain, his multi-eyes looking side to side before he hefted himself onto the stage and handed Icarus the basket. "Please enjoy." He said hurriedly before starting to slinking away.

Eisetsu sat down watching Cillian, Icarus and Daedalus. She wondered what they would choose to do for food. It was nice of the other Hallowed to offer them snacks but Eisetsu was pretty sure most of the group would like to go somewhere and take a breather from all of this madness perhaps they could start to talk about whether or not they would some day come and live in the Below. Eisetsu could see herself having a Slugah or Lunar Cherub friend, she was having a bit of trouble with the cheerful Icarus.

With all the commotion, Odessa had retreated to her seat again, very nervous about everything that was going on. When things did finally settle down again, she did return to the mic, looking up at the ambassadors. "I, honestly, would love to visit your city, if that would be allowed. I think the exchange is a great idea!" She tried her best to reign in her excitement over the whole thing, but even with her normally quiet demeanor it was easy to hear in her voice.
To the other thing that was said, Odessa actually smiled, seeming even more excited at the prospect. "I do love to cook! I would love to make you guys a proper meal after you've had some snacks to tie you over." She noted that a Hallowed Naga had already offered them some treats and was sure they'd partake of them with the way they were seeming so hungry. "If you'd like, that is? Otherwise, I do work at a really great restaurant that I could point you to." She wasn't the head chef there, but she was definitely working her way up quickly through the ranks.Quote: Point Total: 17 Day 1: 6 Day 2: 1 Day 3: 10

Cillian looked to Chaesh, then... took a moment to consider what they'd offered... "I think I would rather prefer an actual meal after so long. Candies and fried foods will probably cause upset stomach." Not that he didn't like them- he did, he just... wasn't aiming to get stomach cramps during an extremely important excursion into unknown territory.
He looked back to Shisume after she'd disappeared for a few moments. She'd seemed fine before, but now looked upset. Blinking, he did the only thing he knew to do with the children back home. Cillian bent his knees a little to get closer to Shisume, then carefully slid one large arm just above her knees to scoop her up into a one-armed hold, placing most of her weight on his hip. It was... a little awkward, but nothing too different. Some Sluagh children were quite large.
Once she was settled, he looked back to the crowd as Zoe spoke up. "We are a little old for the Academy now... What is it that you teach?" He'd only seen a small roster of Academy staff- and after all the information they'd been trying to memorize before arriving he'd admittedly forgotten most of the people on it.
He looked to Yue again. "That may be a good place to start then... Do they serve vegetarian dishes?" He quirked a brow, eyes flicking back over to Icarus for a moment. The Cherub would probably be too polite outright turn down food with meat in it but... they shouldn't have to resort to that. "For them, I mean." He looked back, though eventually settled on Odessa when she spoke up. "Thank you for the offer." Perhaps he really should have a snack... he was starting to have a hard time thinking of proper responses...
