The stingers would stick out of his feathers, but it wasn't as bad as before. It didn't stop him in the least in getting to his full height in the air ...as he flapped a bit as he shiver to try and shake loose the stingers. It wasn't as deeply embedded as the ones from the last attack.
He was going to have to get better at dodging.
The girl would almost hiss at the invisible voice.
"How dare you? The only real way to document anything is on paper and pencil. Ink is better, but always on paper ...anything else is pure laziness, and that doesn't translate to your gathering of information, but your analyzing of it as well."
"Shabby, completely shabby, and for you not to understand such a thing. Shameful."
"Chrono, be a dear ...use Peck on that pokemon."
She would declare as it would seem she was finally getting into the fight. The pokemon himself would once more dip his wings as he dive-bomb his opponent.
The temperature would abruptly drop by three degrees Celsius as a clawed hand gripped the girl's shoulder, the voice hissing directly into her ear "Don't try my patience child, or I'll stop playing nice!" And then it was gone. Wherever the voice normally stayed it was back there now. "Oreo, don't you DARE fall behind. Pincushion the bird! POISON STING!" The voice barked.
Screeching, and shivering in terror....not to mention barfing briefly like she'd warned herself...the Gligar would swing her tail to unleash another spray of poisonous barbs. Unlike before however this time she'd land, wobbling on her feet. On way or another this battle was going to end and soon.
(I shall try it tomorrow then, since it's still not working(goodnight)
A Murkrow's beak can be a wicked thing, and Chrono was not any different from his species as he hit hard and strong. The attack wasn't enough to end this battle though ...as the bird would continue to hover at that moment. His eyes on the tail that had managed to dart him every time.
If he could only make it a few moments more ...this battle would be theirs.
Meanwhile, his trainer had gotten a bit of a fright as she felt the entity touch her and nearly jumped an entire two feet into the air.
"What was that?"
The girl declares loudly.
Her eyes would shift from one area to another, and with the voice seemingly once more moving back to it's original place...she was for once left speechless. Though that didn't stop her from jolting down this new information into her notepad ...as this battle was reaching it's end.
Muttering yet more curses and more than a few racial slurs as the Gastly failed to avoid the attack, the young trainer gave a mighty sigh. "Alright, ya pain in the..." While it wasn't clear who he was referring to, he shook his head and began focusing on the battle once more."Mephisto. Please, for the love of Arceus, kill this friggin weed already so we can shut this guy up. I've got more important things to do than waste my time 'proving' myself to these Organization goons. Third verse, same as the first, a whole lot louder and a WHOLE lot worse. Astonish."
The ball of gas shook itself off after the hit, wagging his tongue as he righted himself once more, flinging his gaseous form with reckless abandon at the Bellsprout. Hopefully this time it would do some real damage, and maybe, juuuuuuust maybe, luck would smile down on the trainer and his ghost. But only time would tell.

Alas this time the deadly barbs of the Gligar would miss. Still it was up and fighting. It wouldn't be long before the poisons pumping through it's veins ended this fight; but perhaps the Murkrow could end it all the more decisively.
Not one to simply roll over and die despite her nature, the Gligar would choose some evasive measures, running swiftly along the ground using both her pincers and legs.
If this was luck smiling on him, maybe the boy wanted it to frown more. The attack of the Gastly would miss the Bellsprout by mere milometers, allowing the plant to escape unscathed. It was as if Mephisto and his trainer had become some sort of black hole, sucking up all the bad luck of everyone else in the vicinity.
"This is beginning to bore me" The voice stated. There was a severe lack of blood, carnage, or general mayhem in this fight. In short no fun what so ever. "Use Vinewhip" He commanded. That was all he could do for the moment.
Following the order as he had before, the Bellsprout would swing a limb as it elongated into a strong thick vine.
Chrono knew what to do at this point, as he would actually land as he saw the pokemon racing about. This battle was coming to an eye, and this pokemon wasn't going to attack ...the poison would run it's course, and thus ...he would caw at his trainer.
She needed to pay attention to what was happening now.
The sound loud and piercing, brought his trainer away from her curiosity and fear of the mysterious claw and the voice that didn't always stay away in the distance. The notepad was still in her hands, so, she didn't have to pull it out as she turns to her pokemon to see that he was landed on the ground.
That could only mean one thing, and the girl would walk over towards him.
The mystery of the voice can wait for another time, this was much more important as she started to come close to the pokemon.
"Chrono, I need it stop moving now ...use Screech, and don't stop while I investigate it. With that poison in effect, it is probably too weak to try and attack me, but, just to be on the safe side."
She would declare as for once she seemed to actually participating in the battle. Though it wasn't on the side of actual trainer, but more as a researcher as he would drop down to the pokemon's level as she took in the symptoms that was currently going through the Gligar that she could see.
Which wasn't much considered it was on the move, but the fact that it was scampering about so quickly ... meant that poison had no effect on a pokemon's speed at all.
She would tap her pencil once more before jolting down next.
Poison directly or through psychic means ...might have different effects.
She should have allowed Chrono to suffer more to see.
She would jolt that down as a reminder for next time.
Chrono was waiting, and trying to make sure he got this right. He had a feeling that he wouldn't get a second chance as he open up his beak and gave a very loud screech.
With a faint thud and a skid from the momentum, the Gligar would go down at last as the poison took hold. A funny thing that ultimately it's own attack would be it's downfall in this battle.
"Hmph" The voice scoffed lightly "I suppose that's a victory, but remember child there's little room for 'mercy' in Akumu" A firm statement to ensure she was ready for what was to come. "Regardless, I suppose I must now Welcome you to Akumu Academy as a true student! Go and complete your registration....and be sure to take the bird to a Pokemon Center later. A half dead starter won't be much good where you're going!" With these words said the girl would be returned to darkness, the body of the Gligar seeming to simply vanish.
The girl had known that the pokemon would collapse, and had watched as the poison took it's effect. Jolting down every spasm, every tick, everything that had happen to the pokemon in the process.
She knew it wouldn't take long, but, it was something to watch as the screech did it's job for that one moment that she needed. The idea of examining the creature afterwards ...had her almost giddy as that voice spoke, and she remember the voice's touch and the strangeness of the fact that it seemed to have no physical form.
Her eyes wide, but, she was listening this time.
And she almost snarled at his words.
"MERCY!"
She would seem to puff up like her pokemon at the insult, her subject forgotten as she was fully prepared to scream at the thing in the darkness. Mercy was a sign of weakness, and she was not weak ...she would never be weak again.
That much she had promised herself years ago, and thus, the entire idea that she had destroy that pokemon out of a touch of pity...it was utterly ridiculous. She was studying how poison effects and takes out a pokemon.
Considering that some pokemon's poison has the ability to literally melt metal ....and the fact that it can be transmitted without directly contact with a pokemon's body ... was worthy of her notice. But, to have it mistaken, for mercy.
It probably would have been a full blown melt down if it wasn't for the pokemon's quick exit which caused Chrono to caw in surprise and the sudden lost of lights. In the darkness, no one can see you scream, but they can definitely hear it.
Chrono would fly to take her shoulder once she was done. She would snort once, and then turn on her heels.
"Mercy my tail ...next time..I want you to stand on top of it. We will see if it's little vanishing act can happen with you right on top of it. Then when I am done, you can tear it to shreds."
Chrono would actually caw in such a way as if to cackle.
"Let's go, my research here is ruined. Lets head to the registration place, and then the pokemon center."
Keiran walked into the battle room, looking around the room slightly, taking note of the empty room that held the battle test. His newly acquired Rowlet; Ismene, was perched on his shoulder, also taking in the room. Both were nervous at the lack of people around them, not sure what exactly this trial would hold.
his owl Pokemon cooed at him as he gently scratched her spine, still getting used to the idea of owning his own Pokemon.
The attack collided hard against her as she felt the power of the electricity run all the way through and around her. This was painful, and Aida had a hard time believing that she had allowed herself to be hit by such a force. Her teeth would be gritted and she would growl loudly.
"Your own fault for playing around like that."
There was no mercy in the voice of her trainer as the little princess would glare at her own pokemon.
"You will not lose to that filthy mutt."
Then she would glare into the nothingness where she thought she had heard the voice.
"Humph, your knowledge is on par with that statement ....a true lady isn't just for show. The way she hold herself in private is the way she acts before an audience, and I am something greater than the fairest of ladies."
She would declare sharply.
"Now, Aiden .... rip that pokemon apart."
Even though the pokemon wasn't using the move, her face would taken on a look that was nothing but sheer terrifying before she rushes forward. Her movements were slow, but somehow, the fire in her fangs would seem to grow with her steps as a ball of flames would appear in her mouth as she jumps as high as she could. Coating her teeth in fire ...she was using another fire fang.

"Oh?" Daydream couldn't stop asking questions. "Then who are you, little buddy? I mean, you're a student." As though suddenly remembering that he was in a battle, he remarked, "I suggest trying to get out of the way; this isn't the time for smooches."
/Mwhehe... can't get enough of me, can you, hotlips?/ the Woobat teased, taking this far less seriously that he shoulder. His little wings propelled him up, but given his casual attitude, it wouldn't be enough.
"Hi they, little buddy!" Keiran would be met with an unnaturally cheery voice, coming from the darkness without a clear source. "It's a pleasure to meet you here today! My name's Daydream, and I'll be testing to see if you've got what it takes to be an Akumu Academy student." He giggled briefly; at what, it was hard to know. "We can get to the battle soon, but fiiiiiirst..."
Two things appeared out of the darkness. The first was a bottle of thick, silver liquid, which currently sat right in front of Keiran. The second was a bit more distressing; a wide-eyed Espurr, who'd fixed her gaze right on the youth and his Rowlet.
"Could you have your cute little borb come down from there and drink this potion? Pretty please?~" Despite the playful attitude, there was a hint of steel in the voice's tone. "It super duper isn't poison, I swear! And we can't fight until you drink it, soooo..."
((Hello there! And don't worry about the mistake; you aren't the first (I've done it before!) and you won't be the last. I'll be giving the tutorial for the moment. Starting at the beginning...
Akumu Academy runs off a turn-based combat system. The Pokemon with the highest speed stat goes first; in this situation, that's me. When I attack, you defend. When you attack, I defend. And so on, switching until someone's HP reaches zero. In the event Pokemon have the same speed stat, both Pokemon would attack at the same time. After that, the Pokemon who landed the attack would go into defense, and the Pokemon who lost would attack again.
Aim is determined by the roll of 1D20. That ability can be found with the "Post Action" function while posting. I'll roll a die, and you'll roll a die. If I roll higher than you, the attack will land. If I roll lower than you, the attack will miss.
I'll cover damage calculation next post. Understanding me so far?))
The stream of profuse curses and slurs that flew from the young boy's mouth would have made even the saltiest sailor blush as the battle drudged ever onward. "Worthless bag of gas! I should have named you Fart, since that's apparently what you're worth in a damn fight!" He clenched his teeth near to grinding, glaring daggers between the Gastly and the Bellsprout. "I swear to Arceus, if you don't dodge this and actually start doing something, I will get in there myself, and when I'm done pulling that stupid weed limb from limb, I'm coming for you next. You'll be lucky if you ever see the light of day again after this crap!"
The Gastly balked at his trainer's rant, making a desperate effort to fall back and avoid damage. It was becoming rapidly clear that he was not a fighter, though that would have to change if he wanted to keep his master happy. The poor thing was trembling, or would be if he had an actual body, but his eyes glanced nervously to his trainer to see if the boy was serious about the threat- and from the rage clear as day on the boy's face, it was hard not to find it a deadly serious threat. He'd have to double his efforts, it seemed.
