Having been smushed under the fallen hammock, he had managed to pull himself off the ground before the entire fiasco had started. Mass property damage and no doubt a crash in the real estate broke out all around, and he was left crawling off the floor once again onto the city streets outside.
Overall, since it wasn't HIS home and not a area he had invested in, things weren't too bad. He was alive after all, and no doubt his fathers were well protected by their own pokemon and security. Heat had never been a problem growing up near various mountains and islands, and he stared about before shrugging and summoning someone that could no doubt handle the heat.
A curvy Delphox appeared beside him and he stared up at her for a moment to admire the view. "Darling." He called, and she knelt down as he petted her under the chin before pointed. "Attack."
Darling, who seemed to look over at the creature and back to her trainer, had a look as if he was nuts but summoned a fireball anyways and chucked it at the Legendary. It had about as much affect as spitting water on a whale had.

The riot-like conditions of the city hardly phased Amarus. She felt like a ghost, her footsteps almost silent, each one careful and deliberate as she made her way through the mess and the shouting. A legendary pokemon, that was the aim of the game. The goal. Everyone's desire, or so Amarus assumed.
She was a little late to the particular fight at hand, however, and as such had no idea if the legendary had been weakened enough. She slid her sunglasses up onto her head, fixed her pink bangs as she prepared herself mentally, and then slid them back down over her eyes. They glinted a similar colour to her sunglasses, and she knew that as she reached up to beckon her Noivern.
While her eyes were cast upwards, she managed to walk right into a metal divider and send herself to the ground. So much for helping anyone, even herself.

Amarus picked herself up off the ground, returning her Noivern to its pokeball, and looking for her sunglasses before she even thought about what to do next; in the mess and chaos, if she didn't recover them fast she was sure they'd shatter.
And she really liked those sunglasses.
Somehow, in the search for her glasses, she ended up in a tar pit amidst the chaos-- her Noivern would surely help, of course. She relied on it too much. It didn't even have a nickname; Amarus hardly ever nicknamed her battle monsters. She thought it made them weaker, somehow. It wasn't that she didn't love them, wasn't like she didn't care for them and take good care of them-- she just thought they didn't need her silly monikers. That's what she told herself, anyway.
The struggle out of the tar pit didn't upset her much, except for the filth. Noivern brought her to safety without much trouble. However, she heard a trainer's distressed cries, and turned around to see their pokemon stuck in the tar she'd just escaped. It was helpless, a little rattata-- Amarus felt, for a moment, actual sadness. She did not feel things very often.
Naturally, Noivern to the rescue-- Amarus, without saying a word, helped free the trainer's pokemon. She picked the rattata up from her Noivern's grip, and carried it over to the trainer, handing it over still wordlessly. She was on a mission.
The trainer, however, stopped her. "Wait! Thank you," they said. "Without you... I don't know what I was thinking, coming out here."
Amarus nodded, the bells in her hair ringing. She turned away, again, but heard something behind her. The trainer, now nowhere to be seen, had set down an ultra ball. She gripped it tightly in one hand. Perhaps this would be the future, then.

[[ option 3 - capturing attempt ]] In the middle of rifling through her pockets for ultra balls, as it seemed like a good time to try her luck now that she was covered in tar and not in the tar pit, Amarus could not help but notice a trainer referring to his pokemon as darling. It stopped her in her tracks, despite the chaos around them. So strange, to her.
She walked over, and stood before the trainer, hands on her hips and feet planted firmly apart. Her expression was blank, as was her voice.
"You refer to your pokemon by terms of endearment? Does that aid you in battle, do you think?" she asked, genuinely curious though it also genuinely didn't show.

Drifloon cooed in response to Mimsy's hushed whisper, as if to agree while it carried her upward. The smoke and chaos didn't seem to be affecting the girl much, if at all; she was covered in soot and debris, but her smile was pleasant and content, if a bit vacant. Of course, her expressions had always been a bit vacant - it wasn't the fault of her ghosts, nor was it a result the blast.
"Can it hear me?" she murmured, staring up at the monster as they floated slowly towards it. Neither her Drifloon nor her Mimikyu responded in any capacity. "Can it? Are we close enough? Up. Go up. I want to talk to it. I will talk to it."
The Mimikyu pulled urgently on her dress.
"Shhhh, shhh. Hush now, Simmy." Mimsy gave her a gentle, reassuring pat on the head. "We have to. This is important. We have to talk to it. Hello? Yes. Yes, you should say 'hello'."
Simmy did not want to say hello, and did not do so. Mimsy laughed once, and one giggle began spilling out after the next, flooding out her words. When she did manage to speak, it was once again in the exceedingly quiet voice that came most naturally to her.
"Hello. I am told to call you 'Yvetal'. It does not feel like your name. Is it not?" Another peal of laughter that tried to emerge was hurriedly stifled. "Never mind. I understand. I know what you want. I want it too. It will be better then, won't it? When everyone is dead. Dead like the ghosts."
This was too much for Simmy to tolerate, and her shadowy claws lashed out towards Yvetal behind Mimsy's back. She had no intentions of allowing it to ruin all of her hard work by killing the trainer too soon. It wasn't time for that yet.

In an incredible and unanticipated turn of events, the Klefki Cloud was actually of tremendous use to Thackery. At the slightest hint of danger, they sprung into action, effectively creating a very jingly forcefield around him. They hefted him up to his feet and pushed him to safety, working in some strange inverse of a dog keeping a herd together.
"That tickles!" he laughed, playfully trying to tickle one of the Klefki in return. It swatted him away with one of the keys that it was carrying, then pointed the key in the direction of the legendary beast.
"Oh!" Thackery perked with understanding, glancing between his team of keys and the looming Pokemon. "You want it to be our friend! Okay! Yeah! I can do that, I can--"
A bright smile spread across his face as he fished out an ultra ball, turned it over in his hand, and readied himself to throw it. With one eye squinted to improve his aim, he threw the ball with all of his might. It sailed confidently towards its target, on course to capture and contain it.
It was difficult to tell exactly what happened to the ball from this distance, but he thought Yvetal ate it.

Caroline - Mom
Had she just stayed with her companion, Caroline would not have set herself on fire. It was slightly more complex than that, of course, but not in the Zorua's eyes - now her trainer was nursing serious burns to both of her arms after getting off track to rescue the wrong child. What nonsense was that?! She couldn't even follow her own directions!
"Can you--ow, cut it out, Six!" Knowing that she shouldn't touch her burned limbs, Six yanked on Caroline's hair in an effort to redirect her towards their primary goal. "What?! It's not like I could've left another kid. What kind of karma would I have, huh? Probably would have meant someone just passed Mimsy by when she needed--ow!"
She had no real reason to pull her hair this time, aside from wanting her to just shut up.
"Fine. New plan. 'til I can fix...this--" She gestured awkwardly to her arms, as best she could when those arms were severely injured. "--we'll have to rely on everyone else."
This was not ideal by far, but what other choice did she have? Wincing as she lifted her arm, she cupped one hand around her mouth and took a deep breath.
"Heeeey! Hey! Has anyone seen my kid? Mimsyyy! Mimsy, you out there? Has anyone seen my--hey, she looks like..." Six took the hint, and changed the illusion of her humanoid shape to resemble the similarly-sized Hex Maniac, just long enough for any bystanders to get a glimpse. "...like this! I mean, this isn't--I get that you might think this is her, but it's not. Just--hey, help me here, has anyone seen my kid?"

[ Maple - Still the worst pokemon trainer team - Sableye, Deerling, Braixen, Mismagius, Vivillon, Deino ]
It was at least good relatively good new to hear that the burns weren't going to cause long lasting harm; though it was also a little surprising in turn that it was more severe given her luck and all. Maple nodded and mumbled a thanks to the other woman before turning reluctantly bringing herself back into the situation at hand.
Right, there was a large pokemon. That's why her arms had been hurt and she had a small boy still with her that seemed all the more willing to go along with the idea of a coordinated attack. "I I s-suppose..." Well, it was what she had set out to do right? Make friends with monsters, get monsters... fight monsters, yadda yadda.
"I'm... I'm Maple b-by the way," because her name had been requested.
"I'm Todd!" The boy also supplied. (Because chiri figured he should have a name too since he was still there).
Maple sighed, reserved to what her life was at the moment and carefully swung her bag so she could visible see where she was rummaging - being mindful of her arms of course. If she was going to fight this, she needed to pick one of her beasties for this.

Like a little ghostly raincloud, Mimsy floated ever closer to Yvetal, carried sluggishly but steadily upward by her Drifloon. If she could hear her mother calling for her, she was ignoring her expertly. It was more likely that she could only hear what she wanted to hear, as per usual - this generally meant things that no one else could hear, excepting perhaps her ghosts. No one could independently verify that either way.
"Will you join us? Join the other ghosts?" She swayed side to side in Drifloon's careful hold on her, stare fixed upon the monster. "No, you must not say no. You will be lonely. All alone. We can have our world. A good world. A world to take apart and put together again and again. It will not hurt. Yes. Say yes."
Another bitter swipe of Simmy's shadow claw caused them all to swing dangerously, but neither Pokemon nor their trainer showed any sign of fear or concern. Drifloon steadied them with relative ease and moved along.

OOC
exclaimThis is the introduction of FORCED NARRATION.exclaim
gaia_star Any time something in this post is written in bold red as a gm prompt your character HAS to follow it's instructions verbatim. Sometimes it's fun and cute, but sometimes it can be something they may completely disagree on. Why are they doing this? Why do they have no willpower to disobey, as if strings are pushing them towards it and all they can do is sometimes watch as they uncontrollably act towards that action? Sometimes, not everything quite makes sense.
Fire everywhere.
The cement around them melted, bubbled, barely protected by the so few remaining standing. It was a motley group of heroes and making their last stand as they struggled, and ultimately-
- burned themselves and their Pokemon horrifically, fire unavoidable everywhere. The more Yvetal pushed them back, the more it seared their hair and tore their clothing and asphyxiated their lungs and blinded eyes until they could neither see nor breathe clearly- the more those surviving fought back.
At this point all others were gone but them, the survivors and it, a mass of destruction worthy of a single name. They knew it's true name and it was certainly Yvetal. As the legendary continued it's onslaught, it began to slowly circle downwards, finally tired, finally relenting just a bit for an opening.
An opening was all they needed, as they prepared themselves to capture the greatest legendary of all time. But exactly why were they doing this, why when they could have fled, when they could have-
They remember something. An incident in their past. It bubbles up violently, as if the flames themselves are the incident. They had never escaped this pain - but now, had the opportunity to control it.

yep totally fine!
Ev's attention was grabbed when, well, she was! drawn out once more from her deducing of the situation, she looked down to what--or rather who--was clinging onto her!
Blinking a moment, behind her veiling mask, the ghoul knelt to aid in hoisting the boil up, her moths fluttering briskly around in a somewhat panicked fashion, "Oh dear, are you alright~" she gave him a once over to check for any sort of injury from the earthshattering maddness that they'd been thrust into. His question was.. a hard one to answer. Even she wasn't entirely certain of what was happening. It was... all going so quickly! But she had a quick, studious mind, that made it a little easier to translate the situation faster.
"By the looks of things, this giant creature has caused quite the ruckus. It's being very destructive and seems rather dangerous currently~" she oh so calmly explained to him, a tint of aw very evident in her voice. Honestly, how could one not be impressed by such feats? Such raw, unyielding power!
Ah, but back to the boil! Smiling back to him, she resumed her optimistic self, "I'm sure we can find a way to quell the beast, and end this chaos. Shall we give it a try~?"
The ringing of sirens that came from all sides did nothing to ease the sense of loss that was surely going to be felt in due time. This much damage, in this sort amount of time, was going to be felt for years to come, it would be remembered if not honored- fallen heros in rescue attempts. Victims and their families left to mourn with none to blame but a myth that was reality. In his heart, Crimson knew they should have felt quite terrible, but while they did, they also felt inspiration. A twisted fascination with the carnage and wreckage. Life and Loss- a legendary pokemon born to desecrate places so full of potential, so full of life. It was a being who's entire nature was one of pure contradiction and carnage.
Smergle was a bit more sensible of them, tugging on the painter's sleeve in an effort to pull them from the massive creature's range of fire though it would be death if the beast truly set it's sights upon them. But then- Crimson knew that they should had run with the others, what good was an artist in a battlefield for true trainers? Smergle and them- they just were simple folk at heart. Burning, pain- Crimson didn't even realize they were being protected by their companion until it was too late, pokemon's pained cry starting any hesitation from the artist.
Looking up to the pokemon, Crimson thought they were throwing out a normal pokeball- but it was only when they tossed it did they realize it had been an empty one. The strength n the artist was fast fading, and Smergle looked worse than anything else. "Sorry buddy." They reached out gently patting it's head. "I'll paint you a nice sunflower field to make up for this yeah?" The pokemon made a pained noise, grasping the artist's coat, desperate to stay close.
A nice sunflower feild... like the one they saw a long time ago before that place too had caught fire from a foolish summer burn.
Lure was at all times, supposed to look out for pokemon. Humans, and nature itself. The harmony and balance was what every good ranger strived for. To help those in the woods, caves, mountains and wherever else a lone trainer might need them. A good ranger did their best and fought their hardest on behalf of both the pokemon of the wild and the pokemon that were a part of the lives of the many people who called the world their home too. Yet as fire raged around them, Lure was feeling more and more the fool for having such ideals in the face of the legendary. Smoke and fire hurt their lungs and eyes, and When they brought out Charzard, they too realized their mistake. Not even the fire dragon was immune to the pain and pure destructive might of the legendary.
It was a gambler's bid of desperation as they threw the pokeball.
How many pokemon had they failed? Landslides with bodies under rubble? Drowned people and pokemon after a river's waves took them down? A foolist trainer fighting a herd of rapidash with something clearly outmatched?
Lure could try. It was all any of them could do in the end.
