"I know, I know," he says to her and it is clear that he knew just exactly who Mallory had mentioned. Jeremiah remembers Lara at the elevator banks but he can't remember after that and it eats at him. He nods at her and brings the radio up to relay even more as Shun's voice come through. "Roger that. We are on our way."His finger hits the button. "It's Lara Lupin, our ADA. She'll have her service dog Cerby with her and is an epileptic. You have people in your group who will know her. Both of her and her dog need to be saved."Not even questioning the thing about Cerby too.

Alg stood with a grunt once Mallory was safe and after America's stressed outburst he ended up on the other side of her with a warm soothing hand coming to rest lightly against the back of her elbow. "We know Lara.." He said, again attempted to remain calm in the face of all the ********, "I'm sure the other's can get to her faster." His hand did slip away, never one to linger uncomfortably, "We should move to the next room."And then to America, trying to help with the decision, "There may be more kids who need help." Thorne trotted back to the group, coated in blood but looking genuinely pleased that Mal had been safely deposited downstairs. "Should we check out the last room and head up the stairs?" He asked. "Mal is back downstairs now. Still looks like no luck with the police though, so we should keep going. There could be more." Of both, Thorne thought bitterly. It felt wrong. It felt like a betrayal of someone who'd reached out to her and there was still that quiet voice in her that said, I'm fast. I could make it. I should be there to help her. Sometimes America had trouble understanding that things weren't necessarily about her, but this wasn't one of them. She stayed put and and didn't cause further distraction. There were still rooms to be checked, and possibly more people like Mal...or that poor ********' girl. She caught Lily's gaze once more and nodded in a confirmation of nothing in particular. Maybe it was, Okay, I'll cool my s**t. Or, I'm gonna trust your red-eyed friend to handle this. And trust Melina, Zac, Shun, and Chel and the rest. Same as they were trusting her and this group over here, really. Maybe America just didn't know where to look, or what exactly to think. Later, she'd think back at this moment and laugh, wondering how the ******** her face didn't turn into a tomato being bookended by Detective Silver Fox and the guy she'd day dreamed about marrying when she was fourteen and mooning over ********' book covers. Though to be, fair, it's definitely the sort of fantasy she'd have during English classes throughout high school. It wasn't the time, to feel out those pleasant sorts of thoughts, but it was strangely comforting even without the daydreams. Nodding, she agreed. "Yeah, let's clear 'em. We got this." Jeremiah gave her a small reassuring smile and then a squeeze of her arm before he too let go as well. "We do," he agreed with America. His head was tilted towards the next room to show his choice before he was turning to Thorne. The young man got an appreciative nod of his head for carrying the young Mallory downstairs. "Thanks for the update, Thorne." He would fall into step with Algie after they started moving and head towards the next conference room. Standing next to Algie totally was not also so he could touch his wrist a moment and then let go. Just a small reassuring touch. For both of them. jeremiah mercer >> red conference room

So did anyone want the phone? Yes? No? Maybe so? Ah well, maybe they were just distracted. He'd try yelling about it again later.
Or maybe he'd just pass it over to Gramps, because he seemed like the kind of guy who would want to scope out s**t like that. He looked tall and imposing and important and all of that anyway, plus the fact that they got the table guy out of the room so it seemed like a good time to bring it up again. Good thing too, because Shiloh had been getting close to snapping again. Poor guy didn't want to be harassed, but they also had needed help and was refusing it. He'd have shouted everyone to back off and dragged the ******** out himself if it came down to it.
It didn't, which was probably a good thing. "Hey gramps." he approached Jeremiah, blessedly calmer with the situation (probably because they hadn't encountered another were in a while). "I tried speaking up about this before, but no one piped up. It's your problem now." he passed him the cellphone.
It seemed like as good a time as any to leave the room, considering people were clearing out. His vote was on going to the next room too, but he was taking the time to look around. There was a third floor, and things seemed contained on the other end... but that didn't mean there wasn't the possibility of something jumping out at them. His heart was frozen as he watched the other group slowly trickle into the eastern most room, hoping they wouldn't get totally ******** over.
Speaking of being ******** over, where was Jamie? Probably close by if he had to guess, just keeping quiet as ever.

Jeremiah took the phone but stared hard at Shiloh. Really. Gramps. Except the expression smoothed away because now really was not the time. "Thank you," he said instead, "I was just about to ask you for this." He had been, actually, before Mallory had dropped that news on them and now as he was heading towards the other room with the group. The detective lieutenant remembered Shiloh stating it had been someone they had been in class with and looked that picture and the texts. Another weight in his stomach because of the young girl they had forcibly taken down. He looked up and over to see that the other side was going into the last room and then back down at the phone. This was a mess but he had to push the thought from his mind. jeremiah mercer >> red conference room

When everyone began to filter out of the room, Shiloh would find Jamie waiting for him outside. Like Lily, he'd chosen to hang back to avoid causing a stir.
In a way, he figured he had a leg up (no pun intended) on his kin, if only because he was a hare of all things and probably less threatening looking than a wolf or a fox or a fisher. Still, he was a were, and he could only assume that civilians who'd been attacked might be wary of his presence anyway. The thought made him sad, but he'd tried to push it away. What hadn't made him sad today, after all.
"I, um, saw you gave the phone to Detective Mercer," he told Shiloh as he regrouped with him outside. "Thanks..." And now he was offering a small, cautiously optimistic smile, thinking maybe the clue would help, though he wasn't sure how. Sticking close to Shiloh, he spoke out to Jeremiah next.
"Um, I-I dunno if you heard, Detective, but... there's a picture of someone from our classes on there... and some texts. They sound... bad." His shoulders drooped. "I dunno for sure, but... I think that phone might belong to, um, the were we stopped before."-- Jamie votes red conference room.Jamie DelaxcroixHP: 20/20

Oh s**t. Oh s**t oh s**t oh s**t. Lara had completely slipped his mind in the chaos. She'd gone with them out into the hallway where they'd found Hot Lips but.... after that. He'd just kind of -assumed- she was somewhere with one of the groups. "Holy s**t why would she go back to the room we were in? It already tried to get in there once!" He guessed that she'd perhaps thought of it as a safe zone, someplace it hadn't been able to get before, but the Were... it had apparently gotten there first. He ran his fingers through his hair, jaw set with worry. He was botching the hell out of this. He just wanted to help for once and all he could do was screw up. Falco Marks >> Red Conference Room

Lily's concern for the trapped woman was strictly superficial, given that she knew nothing about a Dr. Lara Lupin. However, when Falco began to panic, her ears perked up and she turned to face him. "Other team's gonna get there first, she's in good hands," she said with a sympathetic half-smile. They had to trust in Lucas's team, or else why would they have split up? She lifted a hand to put on his shoulder, and then looking at her claws, retracted it as she looked away. They might have been 'weirdness buddies', but it wasn't the same. Silenced by her own sudden bashfulness, she followed the group towards the next room, eyes up for danger. -- Lily Babineaux --> Red Conference Room HP: 20 Rolling for rogues.

Having passed on the warning about Lara, the group proceeds to the red conference room. The room is undisturbed, though a video is playing on loop on the projector screen. THE NUMBER IS 15 THE TIME IS 1830 YOU HAVE ENTERED THE RED CONFERENCE ROOM IT IS UNDISTURBED
WILL YOU PROCEED? OR STOP TO SEARCH?
YOUR NEXT GM POST WILL COME AT 1400 PST Rules Amendment As there are ranged weapons present in the game, rules have been created to account for them. As all guns in the game are property of the police department, firing them comes with a consequence of having to explain in a later thread why you fired to your boss. You cannot be damaged by the were, but the gun is a risky proposition. To fire, please roll a 1d10. The damage scale looks like this: 1-4: You fire your gun into the chaos and do a flat 5dmg to your peer with the lowest health, including you. 5-7: You fire your gun into the chaos and do a flat 5dmg to the were. 8-10: You fire your gun into the chaos and kill the were. You now have to explain why you wasted all of your deescalation training and killed somebody who was not in their right mind.

Oh, there was Jamie. He tried (and failed) to return the smile, but his expression did soften, if only slightly. The night was far from done and he was already so tired... the only blessing he had came with knowing Jamie hadn't been hurt yet, and neither had he—not that he couldn't deal with the latter. Monster claws weren't yet on the list of things that had ******** him up, but Shiloh had his fair share of fights in the past. He'd try to not let it kill him.
"You think maybe texting the contacts could help show us where the others are?" he wondered aloud, "But then the noise might attract somethin' else if their s**t goes off..."
It was still a thought though, but he preferred to leave the big decisions to the others. Let them deal with the ramifications; he was just a dumb kid, so what did he know? Whoops, there was that salty pessimism again.
"I think people are deciding on the next conference room." he told Jamie in passing as he was also turning his attention there. "Are you... doing okay?" it sounded really stupid and subjective given the events. Jamie was probably not okay, but so long as he remained physically unscathed...
He didn't want to think about it. Bracing himself as they entered the next room, Shiloh was surprised to see it undisturbed, narrowing his eyes at the video that kept playing. "This is ********' weird."

Pulling out her phone, America's thumb hovered over Lara's number. But it's too dangerous, like Mal, it could give her away and maybe not to the other group. Instead she scrolls, sends a text consulting of im okay to a friend, and then enters the room.
Nothing jumps out. A strange old film is playing, but it isn't one she knows.

"I'm gonna take a look." Falco noted, trying to sound stubborn, trying not to wonder who had made it to the conference room with Lupin first. The rogue... or the other team. "I mean unless someone has a problem with that..." Compared to the other rooms it was almost unusual that it was so untouched. "It is weird though..." He agreed with Shiloh. Why hadn't this room been torn up? Was it empty? Had the speech just... distracted the rogue? Scared it away? Who'd set it playing anyway? "Feel free to, you know, save my a** if anything tries to eat me, ok?" He added to Lily, only half jokingly. He almost called her "Sabertooth", but figured she'd find a lot less humor in the comparison, when the only real similarity was dark claws. He didn't even find it funny. He just wanted to disrupt the disquiet of everything. HP 20/20 searching the room unless interruptedshibrogane disregard roll I think? IDK what the ******** I'm doing. X_X

Alg leaned on the doorway, normally enjoying a good film, but this was just a bit odd and creepy. He seemed to watch most of the speech before he further stepped inside and looked around. "Strange-" He agreed with those who'd entered. Alg looks for the projector to turn off the film.
