Zak glanced back down at his computer, did a few more things, then closed it and put it away again. He had started up a program he typically used, using Scarlett's contact list to give the selected inputs, and telling it to search for any commonalities between the individuals listed there. Obviously, some of them were 'code names', but if there were any reference of them with one another, or any of the others, he would know. Anything involving any number of the names would show up. He would have to look into trying to dig up more on the names in particular if there wasn't enough to go on. He couldn't really drag Imperium resources into this, either, unfortunately... it was his own sort of thing. At least they were somewhat informed on it, though, so he would have more than just his own tracker on Scarlett; he'd have the eyes and ears of the other Imperium Agents that might cross paths with her.
In the meantime, though, he would let his computer do the work on finding out any more information.

Striding forward, Zak brought his basketball back up into his hands, tossing it up, then occasionally rebounding it off trees. He practiced his shooting and rebounding, and worked on his ability to properly bounce the ball off the trees at the angle he wanted. The ground had absolutely zero bounce, but the barked foliage did a decent job at keeping at least some of the ball's momentum. Not a lot, but it was definitely better than dirt. He picked up the pace a little, though, after they had been walking for a while, eager to get out. The sooner he left this damn forest, the sooner he could get to Castelia City.

Slowing as they neared the exit, Zakhav smirked. He strolled right on out of the forest, heading for the city, but pulled out two of his pokeballs, expanding both of them and releasing the pokemon as he made his way onto the enormous bridge leading to the city. He didn't stop walking as he did-- Meebus and Totodile both blinked, then turned, noticing their trainer, and hurried to catch up. "Meebus," Zak directed as they approached, tossing a small electric device at the pokemon-- the mechanism he'd been messing with earlier, "You should be able to talk srough zat. I'm handeng Totodile sum uzzer plugs zat Boo found-" He gestured to the ghost pokemon, who was looking curiously at Meebus, her little eyes wide. "So you can change forms eef you need. Zak typed away at his communication device as he made his way back towards the forest. It was mid morning, and he felt more than ready to make his way back to challenge the second gym, and defeat it. He had gained enough information on this 'Miss Fortune' to drop her a little message, checking her location before hand. He considered, briefly, doing a voice or video message, but ultimately decided to just use text, and was in the forest by the time he finished it.
He smirked, lifting his head up as Daeva moved on his shoulder, looking up at the trees around them. He lifted a hand, scratching under her chin, getting a chirring, happy sound in response. "At lyest you seem to be geeting stronger," he remarked, still affectionately petting her. "Perhaps soon ve can lyet you start battling in ze gym battles..." Now that he thought about it, he should probably check what the next gym was... and consider what to actually do with 'Miss Fortune'...

It didn't take very much research to find out the first on his list. Lenora, the second gym leader of this region, was a user of normal type. How.... incredibly boring.... He looked off to the side, absently, figuring he could probably use Deys, and maybe Meebus. He could use Totodile too, and maybe he would, to make things easier. It would depend how things went with Deys and the first pokemon, but regardless, he would be training the Empoleon, Meebus, and likely even Totodile, quite a bit on their way back, and certainly after. He wanted to get all his pokemon a bit closer to being caught up with Sotnik... Heck, maybe they could go ahead and challenge the fourth gym leader, too....
Whiiiiich left him to ponder the situation with 'Miss Fortune', which was much more complicated. And fun.

Zak already had a few ideas of how he could use her with the 'debt' she 'owed' him. Nothing specific, but there was at least one obvious choice; he hated field work, but every now and then, he would get sent on specific missions. Sometimes he'd have someone else assigned with him, sometimes he wouldn't, but either way, she could possibly come in handy for that. Either for doing it instead, or at least as assistance; a distraction, an extra set of hands, all of the above. Of course, there was always the matter of her betraying him under such circumstances, but... he was fairly sure he could come up with a way to prevent that.
One way or another.
A faint smirk crossed his face as he mulled over the ideas, hands in his pockets as he walked. The line of thought took him through the forest, his feet carrying him, instinctively, onwards towards Nacrene City.

Zak let Daeva and Meebus out of their pokeballs again as they entered the forest. Daeva forewent her usual post on his shoulder to bound ahead on the grass, chirruping and prowling around, trying to hunt down opponents. Zak busied himself with his watch, using it to quickly search 'Haunted Houses'. He'd heard some murmur of it, and while he certainly had no problem with ghost pokemon -- at all -- it was mostly his interest in giving his pokemon something to fight and train against. A lot of them had a move or two that were strong against ghosts, after all.
Meebus quietly floated along beside him, looking down at Daeva with his usual neutral expression. And Rotoms were supposed to be mischevious...

After doing enough satisfactory research to get an idea of this little 'Haunted House' stint, Zak lifted his gaze. He watched Daeva bound around up above, then slink from bush to bush. She certainly seemed to have a lot of energy... He frowned, considering letting her battle. But with her exp share, it was really better if she didn't-- ultimately, it led to more exp being gained from each battle. He absently pulled out Deys' pokeball, tossing it in the air absently, and quirking an eyebrow as he let himself out while the ball was midway up. He caught the pokeball, looking questioningly at the Empoleon, who simply looked around, and then started walking. He shook his head a bit, then looked ahead, putting the pokeball away.
"Meebus--" he started, but stopped as Boo, too, released herself from the pokeball. He snarled. "Vat ze hell?" he muttered. Were all the pokemon revolting to be released from their pokeballs or something!?!

Zak frowned disapprovingly as he watched Boo float over to Deysatnik, bothering at his neck, around his collar, for something. "They are simply sensing the increased ghost activity, Zak-hav," Meebus spoke up, and the Russian's darkened gaze shifted to him, instead, "Or at least, I believe, Deys is..." He paused a moment, then began adding, "Boo--" but stopped as the pumpkaboo came over, nudging him with something. The ghost-fire pokemon's blue outlining twitched again, and he looked down at it. He stared a moment, then moved over to Zak, depositing the fire plug, and moving back to Boo, now in his normal, smaller form, to take the item. She happily drifted off, after, looking quite pleased. "Is simply being Boo..." the Rotom added, the little bell chiming as he turned to continue forward with Zak.

The forest was quiet when Huey entered it, with only the subtlest of sounds of a pokemon moving about in the bushes or a gust of wind causing the leaves to ruffle, to occasionally break the silence. All in all it was peaceful, and Huey found himself humming quietly as he walked steadily through the forest. His mind was still on the Shaymin though he'd moved past just gushing over its cuteness and instead thought about the fact that it was a legendary. Those were rare, and the fact that a kid his age had actually managed to catch one was astounding. Granted, the pokemon had been rather weak, but Huey wasn't too concerned about that; at some point every pokemon, even legendaries, were weak, you just had to be dedicated to training it was all.

Huey's mind was still preoccupied with all things legendary when he came across an old oak tree. It didn't hold much significance, after all forests were known for having trees, save for the fact that it was much taller than its neighbors and had a large hollow in its trunk, just a few inches below where the branches jutted out. Huey paused and looked up at into the hollow, his eyes narrowing when he spotted movement. "Hm," he hummed curiously and pushed forward on his tip-toes, hopping the half-inch it added to his height would help him see better into the hollow. It didn't. But Dianna, who had noticed her trainer's curiosity, took it upon herself to lift the boy off the ground, her hands situated gently around his hips, and above her head.
"Uh, thanks Dianna!" Recovering from the shock Huey made sure to give his starter a nod of thanks before he looked back to three. Now that he'd suddenly sprouted a few extra feet he could see clearly into the hole, and what he saw was an Emolga marching about, a few items in its little paws. A moment passed and a Klefki came into view. The Emolga stopped and the two seemed to share words before the electric squirrel started forward, out of Huey's line of vision.
Huh.. that was.. strange. Not just the fact that those two were together, but a few of those items the Emolga had been carrying they were human items: wallets, watches, and even a CD.

Huey continued to watch the curious actions of the two pokemon in the tree, half tempted to call his brother and ask about their behavior-- he was a breeder, maybe he knew what to make of it-- but a sharp cry jerked him out of his thoughts. "Uh-oh," he muttered and found himself frowning gently. It seemed they'd been spotted, the Emolga stood frozen for all of three seconds before it zipped away, reappearing with more items, these different from the last. They were nuts of different variety, hard, spiky, large and small.
...A sinking feeling came upon the young boy.
"Dianna, put me--" before he could issue the order the first nut was lobbed out of the tree and came close to beaming Huey in the forehead, but before the projectile could find its target it was quite literally frozen in place; as ice rapidly formed around the nut it grew heavier and fell straight to the ground. Yuki turned around afterwards, her expression nothing but concern. "Are you alright, Huey!?" she asked telepathically. "Yeah, I'm okay.. thanks for stopping that." Another nut was thrown out, though this one was caught by Dianna, who now wore a grimace upon her face. "Let's get out of here," Huey muttered and his starter nodded.
Rather than place him back on the ground, however, Dianna tucked Huey under her arm, subtly creating a human-sized football, and began to speed walk towards the exit, all the while dodging and ducking the onslaught of nuts that didn't stop until they'd left the tree, and the forest, far behind.

Entering the forest, Huey was reminded of barrage of nuts he and his pokemon had pelted with and grimaced accordingly. He'd make sure to avoid that tree, the fact that it'd make his trip a little longer didn't dissuade him in the least. He wasn't going to go through that again. Sure, to some, it might have been just a few nuts, but they were hard, and from the way Dianna had grunted whenever a nut had rebounded off her body, those things hurt. When Huey branched off from the usual path his pokemon didn't question him, understanding the reason behind it and agreeing wholly. Even Rags didn't voice a complaint, his hand automatically running over the bruise he'd sustained from a well-aimed nut to the shoulder.
As he walked the pokeball containing Cloud shook and the Togepi let himself out. "Prii!" he cried out in greeting, oblivious to the wide-eyed expression his trainer gave him, how had.. Huey shook his head and decided not to question it, the little egg had always been an odd one. Even during the debacle of a ball, he'd been oddly cheerful; it was like he hadn't even realized the danger they'd been in. "Hey, Cloud, do you wanna walk with us for a bit?"
Cloud, who had already begun marching around, spun around and lifted his arms above his head in a wave. Huey would take that as a yes.

With Cloud now out and about Huey found himself paying more attention to the toddling Togepi than where he was walking, and in what direction. He made it work however, Dianna appeared to know the way back to Castelia and whenever Huey strayed too far or began to follow Cloud into a pair of bushes Yuki would gently herd them back. Rags simply watched. It was certainly a team effort.
"There was this weird looking worm thing, I just had to see it!" Cloud tried to explain as he was once again corralled, surprising Huey when his voice rang out clearly through his mind. "..Was that you just now, Cloud?" the boy asked, his dilated eyes narrowing slightly in his confusion. It was the only option, but knowing that didn't help him; he knew who it was speaking to him but not how. "Of course it was!" the voice chirped at the same time the bright-eyed pokemon tipped his head up to look at Huey. "Why wouldn't it be?" Cloud gasped. "Wait, can you actually hear me now!?" He stomped his feet happily when Huey gave a slow nod of confirmation and with a his left arm stuck out horizontally lunged to the side. "That's amaaaaazing~! I never thought there'd come a day when you'd hear me, Hubert!"
He blinked and found himself wrinkling his nose at the name, "that's not my name," he remarked quietly, to which Cloud only nodded, through he found himself still lost in the small dance he'd started, he pirouetted. "I know~ I just like how that sounds: 'Huuuu-buuuuurt' it really rolls off the tongue!" Huey scratched his cheek, but decided not to object to the, rather odd, nickname. Cloud seemed overjoyed to call him that and the boy really didn't have any qualms against it, it was just different from what he was used to but just so long as Cloud knew his real name there was no true problem.
The breeder allowed his pokemon to finish his dance before he ushered him along, wanting to get through the forest and to the next gym as quickly as he could. Along the way Cloud began to test out his newfound psychic abilities, testing Huey to see if he could still hear him even when he 'spoke' in various volumes: switching between a whisper and a scream.

A shuffling in the trees overhead briefly distracted the group halfway through the forest, Huey stopped walking just to afford an upwards glance and caught sight of a few leaves drifting slowly from the ground from a recently disturbed branch. He hummed thoughtfully before he looked away, there had been a pokemon there, he was sure of it, but had obviously missed it. Despite the curiosity lingering in his mind he didn't think anymore on it, they were getting close to the exit and he needed to start mentally preparing for his fight against Burg, not wondering about which pokemon had been scurrying through the trees; there were bound to be tons of pokemon out and out about.
Unfortunately the identity of the pokemon didn't stay hidden for too much longer as a flash of green ran past Huey's line of sight and tackled Rags. "Scraggy!?" His disbelief resounded throughout the rest of the group, save for Cloud, and the pokemon went barreling back with a monkey atop of him. Six pairs of eyes followed his roll across the forest floor until he stopped on his back, took a millisecond to comprehend what had just happened to him, and promptly punched the Pansage directly in the chin, sending it stumbling backwards. Rags sat up slowly, his aggravation clear, and sent the Pansage a death glare that followed the simian all the way up until its descent back into the trees, and even afterwards.
Huey was at a loss for words, unable to even begin explaining the odd behavior, but eventually he composed himself and sped-walk towards Rags. "Are you okay?" he asked quietly and waited until he received a jagged nod of affirmation before he let loose a shaky sigh of relief. "..Good." He extended a hand out to help his pokemon up onto his feet.
Now that that was over, they could continue on. Rags appeared to be fine, despite the small bout of angry that no doubt still raged within him. "Okay, let's head! out," he called out and three heads nodded in agreement. No.. wait.. what.. three? Huey frowned before doing a quick head-count. Yuuup, there were definitely only three pokemon with him. Three out of the four.
