Now, onto the spices. The demon was a bit hesitant in choosing hers, but went ahead anyway. The first one.... was repulsive.. Mold?! why... would this even be here? You'd think considering the caliber of chefs that were running this place, they'd have fresh spices. But maybe that was part of the game, things put there on purpose to trip you up... moving on to her next one, hit hard like a ton of bricks. The spicyness was intense, and unbelievable! how could it even be considered useable with such palette numbing abilities? But to finish off, the sweet, and fresh taste of mint was concluded with. These... were what she had to work with. Ev's confidence wasn't high at all, and her smile dipped just a little in disappointment with herself. She'd just have to make due with what she had, rubbing the spice along the tender flesh, mixed with the mold to maybe counteract one another, and stuffing the mint inside the meat to hopefully have a refreshing taste.

Now, prepping an invisible mini takes some time, for anyone, and Chase was no exception. At least finding the head on this mini was easy enough, and from there it was pretty straightforward. At least as far as skinning and declawing went. He gave the hide an extra search, not wanting to leave any little bits of flesh attached, and then set about organizing the rest of the creature. Invisible blobs were squeezed, poked, sniffed... trying to figure out what was what was the most difficult part.
In the end, Chase had two piles. Parts to keep, and parts to toss. He hoped he had separated things correctly.

Now....to cook. The spice rack seemed well stocked, or at least they'd said it was. It was hard to tell. He might as well have chosen something with his eyes closed. Still, he was happy with his first choice, A sweet cube of some kind. Perfect. The dish was already forming in his mind.
Unfortunately, the next time he reached for the spice rack he grabbed...the same thing. Ok. He'd been hoping to go a little to the left. Darn invisible ingredients. "Oh well," he said with a shrug. He could use more of the sugary substance, he supposed.
One more spice... and Chase smacked his lips at the sticky sweet he'd picked this time. Ok.
He had a lot of sweet...and some meat. Time to glaze this lizard. One handful of cubed sugar substance, a drizzle of sugar sweet, and then all four legs of the little scaled dragon (all scale/skinless of course). He let his ears and his nose do the work for the next bit...listening for the sizzle that told him it had a nice sear, making sure the sugar didn't burn. He turned the legs once (it took wayyyyy to long to find all four...he hoped he'd found them all and not just turned the same one 4 times), and then put the pan in the oven to finish cooking the inside.
The heart (he was pretty sure) was chopped up and tossed into a fry pan to get it's own sugary glaze. Yes, yes. Quite nice.
Again he listened, and sniffed, and listened some more. And when things smelled done, he took the tiniest pieces of flesh and tasted them. Sweet. Very sweet. It mixed well with the savory juices of the creature. Lovely.
Pretty sure everything was done...Chase took it all off of the heat. Let the legs rest for a moment while he got the plates.

Chase returned with the plate, and gingerly placed all four little dragon legs on it. He did his very best to arrange them in what he hoped was a pretty star-like design, and then he placed the chopped up glazed hearts next to the legs. Perhaps not the most inventive plating ever, but who would know?
No one, it seemed. For Chase, usually a form of grace, was feeling the pressure of the competition. And as he picked up his beautifully plated dishes, he well, he fumbled it. No other way to say it. There was a clang and some flailing and some desperate catching of invisible meat parts. "Dammit. No. I hate this. Where did it all go?"
He found one leg, and what he hoped was a few pieces of heart. He was pretty sure they were... they tasted like what he'd cooked, and they'd fallen onto the counter. Totally safe, right? Sure.
"I have, um," he said in his slowish drawl, "Honey glazed dragon leg, pan seared and then oven roasted, accompanied by sweetened dragon heart bits. The sweet-heart meat should be a little tougher, for a textural difference with the juicy leg. The sweet glaze with the savory dragon should mix well, creating a fulfilling dish." He was supposed to add stuff like that, right?

Sayael was completely confident after that round, but at hearing Hyde's little speech, her shoulders deflated a little bit.
And then once the dishes were revealed, her jaw dropped a little as well, her eyes widening at what they had to work with. She'd never had to deal with invisible minipets before, always seeing what she was working with and at sight, one could determine just how the dish was going to be prepared.
But this? SHE WAS NOT PREPARED.
Taking a deep breath, she strode forward and picked something up, fingers running over it and... a long fluffy tail? Her look was completely and utterly perplexed, and after stroking the tail a few times (it was soft okay), Sayael let out a short sigh and moved to pick up another, setting it down on the table.
