David2074 What is daily treat and how do I access it? They are not talking about Daily Chance (which has changed its name over time) are they? I thought that was always once a day - so an incentive for logging in daily but not multiple times a day. I still see that every day on each tab. You have to go to Go Fusion under Shops but the others are in the tabs. =================================== Quote: Features Will Daily Treat be brought back (to the 6 times a day)? Removing incentives to even log into the site won't make the playerbase stick around Uh oh, we moved the graphics away from the header and forgot about the sections. We will implement this function back even when it's called from the menu. Daily Treat is different from Daily Chance. Daily Treat is supposed to be a way to get small amounts of Gaia Cash for free daily by watching video ads or taking surveys, but for most of its existence it's had a spotty record when it comes to actually giving the GC, partly because the third-party ad companies that sponsor it have to put a limit on the total amount of free real-money-equivalent currency that can be given out per day across the entire user base.

Thanks. Then yeah, I don't do that. I've done a couple of the watch a video thing long ago but I have limited bandwidth and up charges for overage so trying to make money that way would probably literally cost me money. Also, a long time ago I got hit by some malware that I know came from an ad on Gaia. So in general I have ads blocked on Gaia and avoid the few I do see. I certainly don't go out of my way to see them. I also have a bit under $7 in GC sitting on my account that has been there for about three years now because there hasn't been anything I wanted to buy. I got pretty jaded during the reign of the "Milk it for cash and sink the ship" CEO.

I found this response rather frustrating:
Shrimp_Man Daily Chance
About once a month the daily chance carts have been defaulting back to red on all of my accounts despite the fact that I've been going on all of them at least 6 days out of a week. Is there a reason for that? Is there a way to make sure that they stay gold?
Lanzer I haven't seen this problem before, let me check on it real quick.
It isn't that I don't think Lanzer is trying. And he probably has his plate very full of this and that to fix / improve.
But his response suggests staff are not monitoring site feedback and/or not making him aware of "in your face" bugs. There are multiple threads on this topic in SF and tons of "me too" type replies. It would be apparent to any staff reading them that this was a wide spread problem affecting many users.
Alternative theory: Zero or someone else fixed it and didn't bother telling Lanzer. It hasn't happened to me now for a while and it was happening frequently. But you think they'd toss stuff like that out at staff meetings so everyone would know. Or maybe they are putting out so many fires they just don't all get mentioned.

It seems like weekly ATS sessions are becoming a lot less than weekly these days. It makes me wonder how short handed / over worked the staff is that they so frequently say they don't have time for ATS.
Also, I note that this thread doesn't seem to see many visitors and I'm mostly talking to myself. smile

Thanks for that. I ran into that problem just yesterday when posting a photo but what I could find was larger than it should have been. It's a tad depressing to read ATS these days. Most of the answers boil down to some version of, "We are struggling and can't afford the staff to do that right now but we will try to get to it when we can".
But I'm probably talking to myself since I'm one of the few people who ever post in this thread. smile

I don't know how to answer your "Where to put Lake Kindred Origins" question.
I have not played LK in ages and I didn't even know that two versions now exist.
But as a general comment would it seems like you could either post them in both locations (if not too much extra hassle) or have a sticky in one of them saying something like "If you are looking for THIS then go HERE"

I think LK Origins questions should stay in the Mobile Devices subject forum and not be put into the LK one. Origins is pretty much its own separate entity, and I don't think sharing a name with the Gaia game should mean it should be put there. If people wonder why Origins isn't with LK, perhaps you can change the subject to "Lake Kindred web game" or something denoting the website game, rather than the mobile game.
I don't think the mobile game is big enough to deserve its own By Subject forum, but maybe it'll lead to that in the future, especially b/c there are such different aspects involved with either game.
OR... if/when Origins is able to connect to web LK, the Origins questions can be put there.

I'm a little late to the party, but I wouldn't mix Lake Kindred and Lake Kindred Origins questions. Dividing them would make it more obvious which question is for which game; otherwise it will be easy to mix up.
If they ever get linked in some way, consider simply adding a link to the other one in your first post; so people can easily jump to the other game if they realize they didn't open the right topic.

I'm kind of said to read Zero Omega is leaving us. I dealt with him regarding some of the changes to tanks and booty grab a few years ago and he seemed pretty straight up and straight forward.
Though I'm not too surprised he is leaving. He has years of experience and Gaia Interactive appears to be struggling for cash. So it isn't super surprising another company might make him a more lucrative offer or one with a better potential career arc.

Kind of sad that just about everything in the ATS these days is about things that are broken. Except for the Thanksgiving related comments this week.
Though it was interesting to learn Codemonkey is working out of Thailand.

So what do you all think about the Halo's Gift announcement?
It was a public confirmation of what has been obvious for a long time now. I purchased one and I wish them well. Hopefully Gaia isn't already past the tipping point in terms of going down.

Hopefully Gaia isn't already past the tipping point in terms of going down. I totally agree with you on this. I bought one, too, but they'll need to devise a better strategy than that to keep the servers running. I'm really hoping they'll improve the subscription to the point that it comes close to sustaining the site (sort of like what Patreon does for music). I personally believe the Angel Subscription system is their best way to get reliable sustainable income. As for your question about should you make a topic about those halo donation items, I'd wait to see how often the topic comes up. If it was a one-time (or even two-time) thing, then it won't need its own topic. But if Gaia starts doing it regularly, then it probably will. *sigh*

I agree with JoyRose about waiting to see if there will be more Halo's Gift questions. Many of the questions have been more bug/tech support issues of it not granting, but I do think we'll see more questions about different kinds of Halo's Gift and how it will help Gaia. I think Etc. is a good place to put Halo's Gift questions even if you don't decide to move it..............or maybe a section on the state of Gaia as a whole? How it's doing in terms of making its goals, if Gaia is able to keep up its servers, etc...

Especially the $100 / $300 options. I'd personally be embarrassed to accept 300/mo from any one user because it strongly suggests taking advantage of some sort of addiction or mental disorder. Obviously the $5 / mo is more reasonable but IMO is still a bit over priced. When they used to have the MC for $2.50 that seemed about right to me. I know that isn't a lot but if this was a pay to play site and every user payed 2.50 / month it would probably be more than enough to supply their base needs plus whatever people purchased on top of that. If I "lived" on this site then maybe 5 bucks (or more) would seem reasonable but all I do here anymore is chat in a couple of the forums. As a generalized comparison - the online game WoW is $15/mo for a subscription and the amount of servers / graphics / bandwidth required is huge compared to Gaia which is largely a text based site. The game Rift is free to play but there is a premium subscription for more content but I couldn't find the price. I seem to recall a friend saying it was in a similar ballpark. I guess the point being is if every user paid then the base amount to cover bills / start making a profit should be pretty low per person.
