The connection to the girl's consciousness was weak but it was there. Connecting with the unconscious young woman Aylin blocked out all other sound around her. As the Recuro spell tried to heal the young woman Aylin could feel some sort of magical block preventing her from allowing her to pour any more of her own energy into the girl's body. Aylin's body began to feel weak as the spell continued and the sounds of the world around her began to reach her ears once more. The sound of second voice behind her had spoken the word hospital. It was enough to convince Aylin to sever the connection she had made with the young woman's body. There was no use in trying any longer to heal the young woman herself and there was no shame in letting someone else have their hand at helping a person in need.

"I've done all I can for her. It's up to her now. If I keep going I'll end up passing out from a lack of energy," Aylin said between heavy breaths, "You, you get her to that hospital. I'm going to drag myself home. I feel like I could sleep for a month."

The crimson-haired woman nodded to the two. She made a quick phone call to a friend of hers, and within minutes a car had arrived to escort them to the hospital. "She will be okay. The doctors in Aekea will take great care of her. Thank you for your hard work as well." She bowed to the worn pixie. "Give your body a good rest, you deserve it. Though be careful, I can drop you home if you would like." Her suggestion was sincere, she saw how weary the pixie was. The young Aekean woman helped the collapsed woman into the backseat of the car. She looked at the other two once more, stepping into the car herself. Her priority now was to get the dark-haired woman to the hospital. As soon as the woman was conscious, she could begin to ask questions. The car waited for the two Bartonites, inviting them if they wished to come.

Even as Aylin tried to heal Lunette, and then while she was being carted off to Aekea's medical facility, Lunette's subconscious was being attacked from within. Had it not been for the unintentional temporary defensive barrier the pixie's magic had created inside Lunette's mind, she would have lost her fight long before this.

There was a small window when she had heard a familiar voice calling to her from outside of her unconscious self. She had tried to run toward the voice while a sparkling sheen of good magic enveloped her like a shield, but it did not last. Aylin had become tired, much of her magic energy drained. The barrier broke, and the darkness had closed in once more

Lunette was still trapped in her own subconscious. She was being chased through the tunnels of her own memories, pursued by some dark force that was determined to bend her to it's will. She felt it, growing ever closer. It was like a cold shadow attempting to steal over her, breaking her will to act of her own accord. A strained whisper echoed after her.

I know your destiny. You are mine. You cannot escape me

NO! Get away from me! Lunette's subconscious screamed as she hurtled through darkness mixed with swirls of memories, some familiar, some so bizarre they could not possibly have been real memories, but rather horifixes of her own imagination.

Aylin heard the offer from the red haired young woman. While it was a good offer the well being of the unconscious young woman Aylin had tried to heal was far more important than a ride home. The sooner the young woman was brought to a hospital of some kind the better. For Aylin, her own health and well being came last when someone else was injured worse. The diminutive pixie had a good feeling that the red haired young woman would be disappointed she refused the offer of the car ride but time would have been wasted on getting her back to her thatched roof cottage next to the slender trunk version of her favorite tree in the Greens. It wasn't like this had been the first time Aylin found herself low on energy and light headed after trying to heal someone. The first time Aylin had felt some type of connection to her late husband Orrin she had fallen asleep against him after nearly passing out healing his wounds. Trying hard to keep herself from getting too overly woozy Aylin faced the red haired young woman and gave her reply.

"Thank you for the offer but I'm going to have to turn you down. She's far more important than taking me home. The sooner you get her to the hospital the better. I'll be fine getting home on my own. I'll just take my time is all," Aylin replied with a small smile putting on a brave front for the younger girls.

As the orange-haired teenager made her way to the train station, the skies above Barton finally cleared. The mysterious shower that seemed to materialize out of thin air gave way to a myriad of colors as twilight set in. Yet despite her aversion to the rain, the schoolgirl couldn't help but fuss over the fact that the rain didn't let up until she reached the cover of the train station. To make matters worse, the train station was packed to the brim. The orange-haired teen had to push and shove her way through the crowd of bewildered Bartonites just to find a clearing.

"I swear, it's like half the town is trying to take the first train outta here..." the girl grumbled as she flattened against the wall to let someone through. "Seriously? Why is it so crowded!? Maybe something serious happened... Like a bomb threat, or--" Her thoughts were interrupted as someone bumped into her. Normally, the teen would shrug something like this off; she was used to bumping into people on the crowded train. But the events of today had her in an irritable mood. Before she could give the offender a piece of her mind, however, a soft voice from behind her eked out an apology and had an almost calming effect. The orange-haired girl turned around and found a younger girl, probably no more than a high school freshman, wincing as if she expected a beating.

"Um.. Hey. Don't worry about it," she managed, trying to reassure the younger girl in front of her. "This place is pretty crowded... You definitely aren't the first person to bump into me."

As the car pulled up to them Seren felt relieved that Lunette would be getting the help she needed, all thanks to Aylin and the Crimson haired lady when she offered them to come along

Ah well I... Seren was conflicted she wanted to make sure she was going to be okay but it was getting so late and by now her family must have heard about what happened, her grandmother had become so worried about her suddenly she couldn't' stand the thought of potentially worrying them I can't I really want to but my family is bound to be worried about me by now but please call me when you know if she's okay and give Lunette my thanks and well wishes.

With that she wrote out her number and handed it to the woman, saying her thanks to both of them again and telling Aylin she hopes she gets home okay she began to hurry on her way home waving as she left,

How can one know they're unconscious when they're unconscious? Hydro didn't know how, but she knew where she stood didn't exist in reality. The horizon stretched in all directions, and sky and ground was identical. She stepped carefully, unsure of what exactly she walked on. Was there water at her feet that reflected the sky above, or was the sky above reflecting water at her feet. No matter how many steps she took, the scenery did not change one bit, almost as though she didn't move.

"What is this place?"

Nowhere.

Hydro turned on her heel. "Who....?"

Then saw a shadow, with long hair waving in a windless place...the shape was familiar. The voice even sounded like something she'd heard....
Little water girl, do you know what you really are? You don't, you don't....

Prim relaxed a bit as the orange-haired girl spoke to her. "Ah..haha..good--I mean thank you--I don't know what I mean. I'm sorry.." Prim laughed trying to make light of the situation. So much had gone on today, and she didn't know how she managed to take it all. Her thoughts were all over the place, and it made her ditzier than before. "Um..anyway. Were you trying to get on the train? I'm Prim by the way. It's nice to meet you." She was speaking a mile a minute, and the poor girl whom to which Prim spoke, probably thought she was some crazy person. At least the orange-haired girl didn't want to pound her face in. That was one less thing Prim had to worry about today. Prim really just wanted to get home and sleep off the day, but she knew that her mind would keep her up all-night.

The crimson-haired woman gave her farewells to the pixie and the high-schooler. Her priority was getting the dark-haired woman to the hospital. She went on her way, periodically checking the backseat. The unconscious woman seemed to have moments of consciousness, yelling out. The Aekean could sense the inner turmoil. As they arrived at the Aekea Hospital, the woman helped the dark-haired woman out the car and into a hospital room. The collapsed woman was taken in immediately, and a nurse promptly tended to her. The nurse hooked up a monitor and took her vitals, and indicated that rest was needed. The crimson haired woman sat and waited for the dark-haired woman to regain consciousness.

It was some time around 1 am when Lunette came tearing back into consciousness, bolting upright in an unfamiliar bed, wide awake. The room was dark, but florescent light crept under the door from the hallway. Lunette was stock-still, not sure where she was and what she was doing there. Something tugged at her mind, but it was a fleeting feeling. A soft sound emanated from the far corner of the room, drawing Lunette's attention.

Hello? Is someone there? Where am I? Lunette asked into the darkness around her.

It was common knowledge that some time around the last weeks of October would be when Gaians start to prepare for Halloween. All fun and games with costumes and sweets, the holiday was made for those who entertained in active participation and friendly competition. Business certainly flourished during times like these and this year wouldn't be any different. Except, strange events always happened around and during Halloween. This time, it was stranger. Aureate felt it before the portal's appearance came forth. It was a chilling wave, sending electricity through her nerves. That only told her that what might happen could be worse than what she anticipated. And it was.

Aureate was closing her flower shop, checking for misplaced items. Locking the door, the emerald-eyed brunette noticed the lack of stars and the unnatural shine of the moon. The atmosphere felt wrong as she slowly walked across the bridge leading the way to the south gate of Barton. Suddenly, a bright flash of light engulfed her figure before everything faded back into normal with a heap of weight on the cold pavement as the moon shone in laughter.

A/N: So I kinda missed out on the stuff before the H2K14 thing. This post is especially weird, but I made it on purpose. Cheers to a great Halloween event!

The orange-haired teen stood expressionless, listening to the girl in front of her ramble on, straying from one thing to the next. "This girl is kinda weird..." she thought. "She does seem nice though. And it's nice to finally have someone to talk to... Seems like people have either been avoiding me or just not up to talking in this town." The teen caught herself before she spaced out, realizing that the girl in front of her, named Prim, was asking her some questions.

"Prim, huh? Nice to meetcha! My name's Terra,"she said, smiling. Terra was glad to finally meet someone in this unfamiliar town. "And, yeah. I'm waiting for the train... Should be here any minute now. Don't think all these people can fit on it though, but you'd be dead wrong to think I'll be waiting for the next train!" she proclaimed. The girl was adamant, as stubborn and unmovable as the earth. Those around her gave her a momentary glare and stepped away from her. They probably thought she was crazy. Not that Terra really cared. "So!" she exclaimed, turning back to Prim. "What brings you here? You waiting on the train too?

User ImageCharm found Barton Town annoying. She much preferred her begruding duty of looking for a person in the spacious and laid back atmosphere of Isle De Gambino. Barton, however, was full of buildings and other brick-constructed nightmares. Perhaps not troublesome for some bird of prey, but Charm was an angel imp, a humble sized creature with majestic wings on the sides of her head. And no one could tell her otherwise, much less dare insult her golden tail, black glistening eyes, pink cheeks, or adorably fluffy feathery form or risk a tongue lashing seemingly more powerful than a small creature could muster.

Still, after the strange changing of the sky, Charm figured she'd be told to do so anyway, so she went to check on her charge. The startling change of the moon should've shaken anyone who could sense it, or even paid enough attention. Perhaps this was why so many people appeared to be fleeing Barton. Checking a train station, Charm saw a oranged haired girl and a pink haired girl, who she caught a whiff of familiar magic from, but couldn't find the strange blue haired girl she was searching for.

What possessed the girl to come here of all places, then again whatever possessed the girl to leave her home and take up a nomadic life in the first place. Adopting a baby dragon, well, Charm could see that. Too bad that didn't make it any easier to see where the girl was setting up camp tonight. Hadn't she ever heard of an inn? Charm the angel imp fluttered around the town of Barton, seeing a floral shop, where a closed sign was turned over. How useless, to be closed at night! How on earth did this town do business? Surely these townspeople knew there were magical creatures who preferred the moonlight to daylight?

Floating closer to the businesses, Charm found her efforts more worrysome as time passed, the strange turn of events making it hard to keep up with the time as she floated about the quieting town, as persons had left and apparently to get away from whatever had destroyed a fair bit of the town square. The fountain was somewhat in tact, but no water-loving girl there either. Charm floated around what looked like a hospital as well, peering in windows, but no one there familiar either.

Was there no one to ask?

Prim giggled excitedly. She was glad that Terra wasn't out to punch her face in after all. She smiled to Terra, then said "It's nice to meet you!" Her nervousness went away as soon as she knew that this girl with a tough exterior wasn't going to hurt her. Prim took a moment to think about her answer, because she could take the train; but it would put her in the opposite direction of where she lived. Her house was just across the train tracks, but she didn't want to leave Terra stranded. Eventually though, there would be another train. Prim made a shrug in her mind. "Well, I'm just passing through actually. I don't ride the train. My neighborhood is across the tracks. I hope you can get on safely. Maybe I'll see you at school? I assume you go to Barton Heights? We can be good friends, and I can't wait for you to meet Yume too! We can all hang out sometime. Goodnight, and good luck. It was nice to meet you." Prim waved as she crossed the tracks and left the orange-haired girl. After about ten minutes, she made it home. She was exhausted after today, and there were so many things running through her mind. She felt the best thing to do was to sleep it all off. "Goodnight."

The next morning came early. Prim felt like she had only had about an hour of sleep. Her morning routine was being performed as a zombie. She managed to get herself to school somehow, and start the new day. People around Barton Town and the other cities were making the effort to rebuild Barton Square. Everyone at school was talking about what happened and the rumors of "magical beings". Prim just stared at the board, as the teacher gave the lesson.

The crimson haired woman returned to the fallen woman's bedside. She looked over her and smiled. "Good morning." She said softly. "How are you feeling? Are you hungry?" She asked, ready for the questions that she knew the young woman would ask.

Hydro's head was pounding, the ground quite unkind as she awoke and Yin had possibly tangled her hair beyond repair. She sat up, and hear a chorus a "mews" when she did. Her half-asleep gaze floated around her, then she shot up like a bolt, she realized she had a clouder of company, with plenty of kitten-type affection. Most people would find awaking up with a bunch of content and purring animals some version of adorable. Most people didn't have half mermaid blood, either. Anyone who encountered Hydro did not find her perculiar because of her affinity to the sea. Usually getting past the odd attire and eccentric, aloof personality was enough trouble for people. No one really knew her well enough to know she didn't have scales, or that she had what could crudely be called "fish blood." She was warm-blooded and by all intensive purposes, human, though she had no proof of that part of her lineage. And she wasn't ignorant of hygenie: of course she didn't smell like she was on the end of a hook.

However, every cat seemed to quickly learn that the taste of his girl was oddly similar to a denzin of the sea. Felines did not pounce upon her or chase her, she wasn't a fisherman's catch of the day. Usually she could even pet or cuddle with a cat, she didn't outright dislike them. In fact, she could imagine having such a creature for company if it wasn't for the inevitable course of events. First, a cat would find her. Silly creatures could usually appear out of nowhere, pouncing with keen skill. Reluctantly, Hydro would gently pat the feline on it's head, and it would usually respond pleasantly. One could do some form of study on the sudden stream of cats that would come next. Usually a fair group, ten or more, could come and vie for the same attention. Today there were 13 cats doing as such as she woke on the ground. "noo, noo, not again", Hydro grimanced. Trying not to panic, she looked around. Strangely the dark soot she'd landed in was gone, the ground bare as if a tree never grew there. Why? She surely fell, there was no dreaming what she saw when the moon changed.

Looking up, whatever dream she did have, it was washed away by the bright light of a suspiciously normal looking day. She sighed, and then had her train of thought return to the cats. Again, holding down her apprehension, she tried to stand and move away from furry gathering. However, they had started to become curious and the very cat-like action of licking something had started to tickle. This is usually when things went downhill. All the cats were licking her like they'd found a delicious treat, and Hydro's calm vanished as licks turned into nibbles. "NOOOO!" Frightened, she tried to shake the cats off, scooping up her angelic rod, she transferred the weapon into it's alternate state, growing wings on her back. Darting up into the air, seven of the cats where left bewildered on the ground of the schoolyard.

Six cats clung on, and she landed on a school building. Not wanting to harm or have the cats react to water, she wouldn't use her now replenished magic. She tried to take one cat off at a time, "Come on, kitty, go on, find a proper breakfast". One was now hanging onto her wing, "What am I, a bird or a fish?" She groaned. After much mewing, some hissing, and finally one little kitten remained, the only one not to try to literally take a bite out of her, she shooed the last one away. "Sorry to you and your friends, but you started it." Never trust a cat again she begrudingly told herself. She'd be jumping at the sound of a meow for a week! "Yin, you need to grow a little bigger and keep them away." She said to her pet dragon. "Yin? Yin what's wrong?"

Yin was cuddling against her, how he usually did when scared. "Yin, sweetie, what's wrong?....oh, don't cry! I'm not really upset." She was combing out her hair as she talked to him. "Look, doesn't the sunrise look nice today?" The sound of her voice must have finally calmed him, because he resumed his spot on her shoulder and squeaked contently. "It's cool today, let's go find something for breakfast."

She acted nonchalant as she transformed into a school girl guise again, User Imagehowever she wanted to look at the town square. She felt as though after the vision she saw last night, and whatever strange dream she'd had, she needed to go back there. Sure, it was a good place to find a crossiant for breakfast, but it was also the nearest source of water, the fountain at the center. Her element always made her feel a little calmer.

`Hydro

A/N: Save her unconscious body, Hydrooooo!

She knew it wouldn't be simple to go back once the event truly fades back to normal. The signs were clear. The moon, stars, and the unnerving darkness should have been enough warning. Why didn't I see this coming, went the thought. The battle was rough. Demons versus angels. Naturally, she would be among the saints. After all, she is a protector. Green eyes lowered to the side, away from the ruined town ruins, as if in guilt. She should have been stronger, but God knew she tried her best. She was more than just a protector however.

Aureate stood atop the arena's highest block, overseeing the sight below her. Nobody could see her, not even the magically gifted or the spiritually inclined, but anyone could in no doubt see her body on the bricked south bridge. She did nothing. Interfering with the physical world would cause suspicions, and anyone from a higher authority will be displeased if any action taken was spotted.

Gentle hands held together near her chest, the woman started to pray for the town's regrowth with utmost sincerity and love. Only He knows what would happen next.
