Getting himself off of the floor, Musei made his way up the stairs, and found himself walking into the only bedroom with a window, opening it and stepping out, swinging himself over so he could climb up to the top of the roof. There seemed to be a slight lip on the top of the building that evened out, so he could sit down and not slide off or cause any problems as he sat there. He had heard the woman's words, and knew he struck a nerve with her. That was the last thing Musei needed, as he closed his eyes and curled his legs up to his chest, keeping balance while also getting himself comfortable for the long shift that was ahead of himself. He hadn't even thought to eat, as soon hunger was crawling at his stomach, but he chose to ignore it for the time being. He remembered, back when his parents were killed, he hadn't eaten in a week, and the doctors speculated that he wouldn't even be fit to join the Military Police should he choose to, but even through all of that he was still there, as a Captain. A few hours without food would do him fine. Any more, however, and he'd likely request one of the soldiers to grab him some food, and possibly another jug of water to drink.
He patiently awaited the Captain of the Garrison to join him, trying to figure out a good way to explain to her that he hadn't meant to push her so far. Still, it wasn't like Musei to try and make amends with people, perhaps the softness of the others was beginning to get to him. He knew from the beginning he'd hate this mission, but to have this all happen was a bit much for the man.

Lazerith
Sanity:ScaredHealth:98%Stamina:82% Injured
Having a bit of trouble getting up, she finally made it by one of the window ledges. This window was already open when Lazerith made her way into the home, up the stairs, and into a bedroom. It would seem that Captain of the Military Police was already ahead of her. Even though he said to meet up in 10 Minutes. But whatever. She told herself that she'd TRY to not let his words get to her... too much. [
Pulling herself over the ledge and grunting a bit, making a few pained noises here and there; the blonde pulled herself up. Straining her arms. She wasn't out of shape.. Yet she wasn't one of the nice muscled girls. She barely had any muscle. But what she lacked in muscle- she made up for in speed.
Seeing the other captain, she sighed. Moving over, she dropped something onto his lap before turning and sitting on the other side of him with her back to him as she looked to the South.
"I thought you may have forgotten some bread when you left in your prideful strut. So I brought you some. I don't have any water we can share though. Just my small canteen."
Claudia briefly smiles when Lazerith touches her shoulder and gives her words of praise. It made her feel happy about it and, if she were a puppy, would be wagging her tail about it too, however, she doesn't feel too comfortable with the change in her demeanor and returns right back to it before hearing Musei bark his orders. It's not that she minds taking the first shift but with the purple haired guy she'd rather puke. He seems like a little Mr. Goody Goody Two Shows to me, she thinks to herself before starting to walk towards the building to get onto the roof. Claudia stops when she hears her Captain stick up to the MP's Captain. It results with the two Captains taking the first shift. Claudia sighs wanting Lazerith to be resting instead of keeping her guard up and looking for danger that is nearby. A soldier taps her shoulder and requests that she'd help get everything settled and she sighs in annoyance before helping bring in some of the food that they'd be cooking. Thanks to where they are they can make a small soup out of some of the food they brought allowing everyone to be able to eat a small bit of dry food with a small hot meal to add into it. As the other soldiers pass out the small bowls of soup Claudia looks up at the roof where the Captains are and sighs. I can't believe they're making me pass out food, she groans inside her head. "HEY! CAPTAIN! They made soup want me to bring it up to you?" she calls up towards them. Of course the soup isn't more than a few carrots, potatoes, water, and a few other small ingredients but it's much better than just eating bread and potatoes.

Come to me when you need a real hero.

Hearing a few grunting noises coming from the window, he could only assume that the Captain had found her way out of the window, but as he sat there, he felt something land in his lap, as he looked down. It was a bit of bread that was from the stock that they had. Hearing her comment about his 'prideful strut', the man couldn't help but chuckle gently, as he took the bread from his lap and bit into it, chewing on it for a moment's time. After he swallowed the bite of bread, he decided to reply back to her comment. "Do you believe there was anything prideful about that, Miss Lazerith?" he legitimately questioned, turning his head slightly to look at her from the corner of his eyes, noticing her back was to him. Sighing slightly, he turned his eyes back to the north, watching ahead of him.
"... You know, don't think I enjoyed doing that back down there." he muttered, this time not bothering to look back at her, knowing that she was not facing him. "The only reason I wanted those two to go first was because I wasn't sure how you were doing, and I wanted to check on your arm for myself. That, and well, I needed to find a new shirt..." he pointed out, a small laugh escaping his lips, as he looked down at the bread that he had taken a bite from. "... I know I can be rude, but I have to be in front of my soldiers. Comfort breeds weakness, you understand? I can't get comfortable around everyone, or I will become weak. I can't afford doing that and dying out here. I have an entire Country that relies on me to get up every day, and try to sort their sh*t out while making sure that their King doesn't fall in harm's way. If I return, and anything bad happens... I lose my position because of this mission. I lose everything. So having something go wrong down the line could eventually cut my throat..." he paused, feeling as if he had went on for too long. "Right, what I really mean is, I meant no ill-will towards the Garrison by what I had said, Captain Lazerith." he finally went out with it, refusing to say two words that would have been much easier to say, but killed him to utter from his lips.
As the girl called up to them, Musei shook his head slightly, before calling out to her. "I'm fine, soldier!" once saying that, he turned his eyes to Lazerith. "... You want some?"
"Prideful? Yes. Yourself. Though- who said that 'Pride' had to be a downfall?"
Biting at her own bread, she let her feet hang off the edge, kicking them like a child. Though- she was only 20. Compared to some others, she was still a kid to them.
"Don't worry about it.. The past is the past. If we dwell on it- we will never get past anything. Keep bringing it up- it only takes us right back to the past. Then it'll be harder to retrace our footsteps.. Or.. So my sisters used to tell me. My arm will be fine.. It should be. It was just out of the socket.. I had to ram it in. I'll have a medic check it out later and see if I damaged any tissue or anything later. Thanks though. For- you know.. Caring. Worrying. Not saying you don't- but.. Thanks."
She tossed back her jacket at him. Sure, it was probably a lot smaller to him then it was to her.. But it was something.
"Use it to cover yourself.. And- don't worry about before.. I wasn't mad.. I was- Ah forget whatever I felt- okay?"
Lazerith's cheeks were flushed.. Not wanting to admit being nervous and intimidated.
"Everyone has their own ways of teaching and what works best for them.. Mine is way different then yours. As is yours to mine. Mine to the Survey Corps. And so on.. It doesn't make you rude- unless you are literally being rude.. But.. Don't take it so far that you best yourself up and regret it.. Sometimes.. Things eat away at you.. And well.. When bigger, more serious things come.. It breaks you down a whole nother notch! And when you are at the bottom of the bottom- you'll want someone there for you.. And if people believe you to be a.. "
Pausing she sighed, intaking a breath.
"An A**hole. Anyway- I'm trying to say sorry and that I forget the whole thing. It's dirt beneath the carpet. Even if that was a s**ty way to say it... ah.. I'll just shut up now and take watch."
Though, when Claudia called out to her, she smiled. Looking down at the girl.
"I wasn't asking you," she yells back up to Musei in a bit of a disrespectful and annoyed tone before waiting to hear Lazerith's reply. "All I did was help chop up the ingredients. Not much of a cook Ma'am," she replies to Lazerith showing full respect towards her in her voice. It's quite obvious whom Claudia respects more between these two Captains. Might as well add in the branches they're associated with as well. Claudia enters the building and begins her way up to the roof doing her best to not spill the contents of the bowl but in doing so ends up taking longer than she should have. Upon getting to the roof she hands Lazerith the bowl and takes a spoon from her pocket. "Here you go Captain... Sorry I took so long. I didn't want it to spill," she says calmly.
"It's alright. Thank you Claudia. Now take your time getting down okay? We don't need anymore incidents. Okay? I'll let you know when you can take over after my shift, but for now, relax and help out as much as you feel you can.. "
Giving a smile in return, she nodded in thanks to the girl.
When she started talking to him about everything, he couldn't help but become slightly flustered and embarrassed, although it wouldn't show it compared to the redness that were in the other Captain's cheeks. Instead, Musei stayed rather quiet, listening to her words and not turning to look at her, afraid that her gaze might have been a bit much for him to handle. Still, the fact that she had said that she was sorry, something that Musei refused to say exactly, touched his heart. "It's fine. Let's keep talking while we are up here... It will pass the time."
When the girl had showed up with the bowl of soup, Musei simply stared off into the distance, wishing that the girl hadn't bothered to come up so quickly. The conversation between him and Lazerith seemed to die out as a result, but he still had stuff to say in response to her. Still, by her being there, at least he had a moment to think over everything, as he watched as the sun had finally went down from view, as darkness had begun to spread across the areas. "You soldiers should get your rest as soon as possible... I don't want to have to roll you guys out of bed when I get you two up for your shift." he warned the girl, trying to at least seem as if he was still himself, but something in the back of his voice made it sound as if he wasn't even sure he'd wake them to get them for their shift.
Claudia nods her head ignoring Musei before climbing back down and out of the building where she looks around to find John. That "goody two shoes" is probably still offering others his food she thinks to herself as she goes back to help pass out food. As she helps her thoughts complain of how much she isn't enjoying it or how much she would rather feed the horses. Either way she keeps an open eye out for the purple haired soldier. She spots him after some time and with a bowl in one hand walks up to him and tries to whack him in the arm with her free hand. "I brought you food," she says a bit coldly.
She wasn't sure what to say after that. Waiting for him to pull something out of thin air. Anything. Smiling as she watched Claudia make her way out. Then picking the spoon and pressing it to her lips.
"Mmm- this soup is pretty warm. You sure you don't want any? It might warm you up- and it's pretty good.Even if it's just ordinary ingredients. I don't mind sharing. Not like I licked all over the spoon."
As she commented tthat the soup was warm, he was beginning to place the jacket she had given him over his shoulders. It barely did anything, but it at least kept his back warm. When she offered him some of her soup, he couldn't help but laugh slightly at her licking the spoon. "Saliva's not going to kill me..." he pointed out, turning himself around slightly so he could still notice if anything would be coming from his side of the watch. "Besides, I'd rather it be yours than anyone else's here." he muttered, not even thinking about what those words could have meant otherwise. It wasn't until after he had said it, that he realized exactly what had come from his mouth.
"Oh, uh... I didn't mean it like that, I meant it more that... If I'm going to share anything with anyone, I'd rather it be with you...?" he said, hoping that his second explanation was less implied of something else. Still, his mind was clouded at this point, a barrage of thoughts implying how unprofessional it was to say such things. They were Captains, not some teenage love sick kids who were out, sneaking around without their parents permission. Still, the fact that they were on a rooftop, alone, with the night upon them, didn't help Musei's thought process.

Looking back, she was happy to see that he had placed her jacket over her shoulders. Yeah, it barely did any good, but it was better then nothing. It make her give a stifled giggle.
"So? Some people are germaphobic. Sooo.. Hey! At least I asked--"
It took her a few seconds before her cheeks reddened a bit. Just like before. After her face finally went back to its normal color- red painted her cheeks again. But she coughed, as if just pushing it away and out of her mind. Out of the air. Out of her ears.
"It's fine. No misunderstanding. I-I get it. Don't worry. U-Um, so.. Did you want any? It somewhat has a flavor t-to it..."
Lazerith sat, waiting for a answer. Her hair lifted and blew in the breeze that pushed from the west. Now dipping the spoon in and out of the soup.
"...Hows everything on your end? I-it's clear over here.."
Hearing her first comment, he realized she hadn't picked up on what he had said, but when she realized, he sat there for a moment, quiet and not saying a word, instead watching out ahead of himself, making sure there was nothing in sight. Not responding right away to her question, he instead chose to answer the question that was related to their work. "... It looks clear for miles. If we ever need evidence that Titans aren't mobile in the night, this is a great example..." he paused, turning to look at her, chuckling gently. "Yeah, it's starting to get a bit cold out. Your jacket's not really an optimal blanket, you know... Were you always this short?" he teased, a small smirk on his lips, hoping that perhaps he could break the tension that was hanging in the air. It wasn't anything bad, just the tension that Musei had caused himself. He wasn't good with women outside of his core. It was easy to talk business with someone from the Military Police, but when it came down to others, he really wasn't sure of what to say. No matter how he played things, situations were always grim in his eyes, such as this night. They were outside the walls, for how long; nobody knew, but even with all that in mind, Lazerith seemed calm whenever it came to work, but she became flustered around him? He bit his lower lip slightly, holding out his hand to take the spoon, should she choose to hand it to him.
Lazerith spoke softly, looking out to the empty and silent night. Which was broken when Musei teased about her height.
"I-I am average for a girls height! Y-You're just tall! ...I am not short..."
The color was not going to lighten up on her cheek any time soon. The two of them seemed to just sit there in silence for a while, staring off into the vast nothing that would probably be over run with Titans in the morning from the lingering smell of Humans. Everything was new to her still- the outside would from the walls scared her- yet excited her. Though.. Sometimes it felt better to maybe just give up and lay there. But it was her time to show what she could do. To relive what he sisters had to go though. To keep up the good word for female captains and any other female soldier.
