Quote: 4: Tentacles! Roll 1d8 to see how much damage they do! After a firm squeezing, Melvin shimmied the octopus off like a tight pair of pants and pushed the creature back away. It swam, upset that its advances weren't being recognized as the terrifying threats it was trying to make them, and just floated there again waiting to follow. If the squid hoped it could wear Melvin down through hugging over time to be its prey, it really did have a small brain. HP: 44/50

Step Two Some of the caves house many useful stones, other house things waiting to kill you. You can keep on collecting for as long as your willing to risk it (or until you die.)
Roll 1d8 1: A few stones! Roll 1d4 to see how many you find in this cave! 2: Sentient sea weed aggressively gropes you! Roll 1d4 to see how much damage it does! 3: A nice amount of stones! Roll 1d8 to see how many you find in this cave! 4: Tentacles! Roll 1d8 to see how much damage they do! 5: A bunch of stones! Roll 1d10 to see how many you find in this cave! 6: This area becomes permanently mob free and reveals a large cache of stones, roll 1d20 to see how many you find in this cave! 7: The mermaids guarded several large, dark caves that are now open to explore. Hundreds to thin, snake-like tendrils shoot out from the darkness. Roll 1d12 to see how much damage they do! 8: The mermaids guarded several large, dark caves that are now open to explore. What appears to be a cave full of inviting stones is actually a huge toothy maw, patiently waiting to devour you. Roll 1d20 to see how much damage it does! The octopus returned, this time grabbed about his arm and holding it tightly as if trying to hold him back, but it really looked like a very gaudy arm band.
Aww. It just wants to be your girlfriend.
I already have a girlfriend. Melvin shook his arm and then started to grab the tentacles and start prying them off his suit.

What appears to be a cave full of inviting stones is actually a huge toothy maw, patiently waiting to devour you. Roll 1d20 to see how much damage it does! It was one important fact to keep in mind that you should always be aware of your surroundings, and when one little distraction was bothering you, that didn't mean there couldn't be more. The ocean was big, wide, and there wasn't just one set of tentacles in it.
As the little octopus floated, Melvin found another pair wrapping about his body - but not the slender, tiny tentacles from the one before, as he looked up and saw the octopus float clearly unattached from anyone.
Feeling the air squeezed from him, he watched large, thick tentacles of a pinkish-purple curled and wrapped about his chest, neck, and inner thighs and legs, slipping about his body as they twisted and turned around him.

Quote: 4: Tentacles! Roll 1d8 to see how much damage they do! As his body and limbs were held, he noticed, with an uncomfortable focus, that there were many other tentacles that were free to inspect. They moved about him, moving over his face, his hair, down over his body, and he just stayed stunned a moment as he looked at the tinier octopus who, if it could, probably would have just shrugged back to him not knowing what was going on either.
Then the worst came in the form of a very long, pink tongue, that wrapped much like the other tentacles, and moved over his neck and down his chest before, jerking, pulled back.
In one swift motion, he was released, and all the limbs and the tongue were gone. Frozen, he managed to just turn his head enough to try and catch what was been molesting him but only saw a trail of bubbles leading into a dark cave.
It seemed, despite the fondling, that he hadn't been what the octopus was looking for.
Melvin shook off the creepy sensation and slowly, with a bit more reservation, swam away from the cave. HP: 36/50

Melvin slowly swam to a small cave and inside found some stones. Stiff in his motions, he slowly grabbed a few stones one by one.
Are you okay?
I...I just really want a shower right now.
Did the bad octopus touch you?
You know it did! You were there!
He gave another disgusted shiver at the feel of tentacles and a alien tongue on him.

You can escape it by rolling 1d20 and getting 15+, failure results in auto damage. If your HP drops below 0, you lose half your stones as your body floats back to the surface Not really wanting to be felt up by any more tentacles today and just feeling violated, Melvin turned up and headed back to the shore. It hadn't been a productive day, but he lost the desire to swim any longer for today.

He returned to Rin's greenhouse and sat at on of the tables she worked on. He set the stones down, and brought out his runic stone carving case. Opening it, he watched as faint blue reflected about and lit up his workstation.
Taking the stones, he slowly worked. It was quiet here, with just the trees outside and the plants inside to keep him company. It didn't take much time, and his success was split in half. He stared at the stones, then at the greenhouse, and then at how quiet it really was.
Sighing, he tossed the stones in the case and laid his head down on the tabletop, looking at the failed stones.
Failures.
Taking one, he placed it on his head as he laid his head there and just sighed again. It was about time for another drink. End of Week One Total: Failures: 18 Regular: 25 Superior: 14

Week 6Step One In the water surrounding the island there's numerous edlritch horrors of the deep waiting to attack your hunter.
Roll 1d6 1: a massive sea creature attacks you. Roll 1d20 to escape its gaping maw. If you roll 10+ you escape it, if you roll below you receive 10 damage and need to try again. 2: a bus-sized sea creature attack you. It has 30 HP and 5 auto damage. You can escape it by rolling 1d20 and getting 13+, failure results in auto damage. 3: a small-sized sea creature attack you. It has 15 HP and 3 auto damage. You can escape it by rolling 1d20 and getting 15+, failure results in auto damage. 4: you are safe. 5: you are safe. 6: you are safe. Adjusting Roll to 4The water was all encompassing and swallowed you whole, and once you were under the water, the other world went away. The currents moved around you, the sky above changed to rippled blue and fractured lights, and in all the worlds and places he went to, he didn't feel as afraid of this one.
He swam down, wondering if he could just keep giong until his oxygen went out, but instead decided to just sink more and more slowly at first and then faster. He kept diving down and down, as if racing. There was no one else to compare to, to compete with, or to protect. It was just him, and he was alone here. If he died, it would only be on him. No one else here could get hurt because of him. He wasn't here to any responsibility and could not fail since this wasn't a mission. The only expectations were the ones placed on him, and it was a relief.
If he fought, it was only to escape and live. If he went somewhere, he decided where. If he got hurt, no one would save him, and while that terrified him, it also made him feel glad.
If he went on that mission alone........Rin.......
He dived down faster and faster, towards the caves he had yet to touch, where the jagged rocks cast shadows. His lungs started to hurt and he knew if he kept pushing, he would use his oxygen more quickly, but he didn't care. He kept pushing further down. He wanted to be tired and sore when he got back. he wanted to pass out and sleep without dreaming. He wanted to feel his body but not the aching inside of it.
He wanted distractions.

What appears to be a cave full of inviting stones is actually a huge toothy maw, patiently waiting to devour you. Roll 1d20 to see how much damage it does! Adjusting Roll to 7He dove deep into the dark shadows, where the mermaids gatehred and swam in the near-black seaweed and in and out of caves. Here the cave walls were smoother, but still a discolored gray, and they reminded him of rotten teeth with cavitites. The soft sands and seaweed feels further off were inviting and timid, but he was here for stones. He was here to just look, explore, and for a singular purpose that kept his mind focus and clear. He was here for an escape. Visiting old caves only allowed him to become comfortable and let his mind wander back. Instead, he wanted to keep it active, alert, to react, and .......maybe he would become better somehow.
He swam behind a rock and once there, looked about before he moved to a nearby cave. It was unguarded, and he paused to make sure it wasn't a mouth. As it didn't move, he slowly lingered by the entrance before moving in.

Quote: 7: The mermaids guarded several large, dark caves that are now open to explore. Hundreds to thin, snake-like tendrils shoot out from the darkness. Roll 1d12 to see how much damage they do! He had lingered by the cave's mouth, looking around like the many small fish still unsure of what was laying in the dark or hidden in the open, but he was tempted. The caves held the promise of stones, and for him, the stones represented a scorecard. It showed progress, achievement, and it offered him a small feeling of fufillment. He had collected these. He would care these. He was useful at all stages and produced something for others.
He hadn't failed.
Moving in, he jerked back when he noticed slender tendrils like black eels move around and out, looking and searching, and just as they moved to graze over his body, he kicked back and away, watching as the tendrils curled and searched in the empty water of the cave mouth before curling like ferns back inside.
Something different seemed to live here - something he hadn't encountered yet. He would have to look out for those. HP: 49/50
