[Dyakida -> Tahigwa, Ilyra, (though they've left the tent), Bhima -> Armory tent]

Alrighty then, it seemed as though there was serious history between the two youths."Go on." said Dyakida, a dubiously amused expression coming over her face.

She could still hear them outside of the tent, even as she returned to her duties, and she, amused, eavesdropped unashamedly.

Well well well... More than best friends, it seemed. She chuckled. Go on she thought, letting her ears linger on Tahigwa, Tell her how you feel. She wondered, briefly, if Briella was doing the same with Kadriye. She wondered how many other Sisters were confessing their love to each other on the eve of battle, or even how many earthlings.

For a moment, she was jealous. She had nobody to confess to. She had nobody to hold longingly in her arms as they pulled away to join the fight. She had nobody but family to miss, and for a moment her antennae drooped, envious and lonely.

She perked up and switched her attention off of the two lovekinfa outside. "Bhima. Good." she said. So Kaalnia had done something useful after all. And was still gone. Even better.
"Yes." she said gravely. Somehow, she had heard the announcement over the shouting of the youngsters. Somehow. "I did. Which means I have very little of your time." she set down her fletching work and steepled her fingers together. "I mainly wanted to catch up briefly with you before you march out into that... uncertainty. Are you yet a blade of our tribe?" she asked, neutrally curious, "And... since I have you here... What are you fighting for, if I may ask?"

Peyla snored nearby, still full from her fruit and kept quiet, though she stirred briefly and burped melodically when Bhima entered the tent. Briefly. She was kept quiet and out of trouble with a full stomach, but she was digesting. When the s**t hit the fan, Dyakida wanted Peyla to be energetic and helpful. It was very tactically sound. Not that Peyla cared. She just liked fruit.

Rayolun post 3/4
Rayolun gave Lasarra a toothy grin as he hugged her. She'd grown even prettier since he'd last seen her! He remembered the small shining fish, a strange breed of menk, he'd found a while back and had caught with her in mind. I'll have to find some time to give it to her. He was about to ask how her taming and training of beasts was coming along when the leaders stepped out to talk. He listened and sighed.
"Not good if we have no idea on what the enemy has. You should always know what you're hunting so you can be prepared," he grumbled. "Maybe I should go help scout... I'm good at sneaking about and I could probably get close to the enemy to get more information."

He turned back and poked his self proclaimed brother who'd stepped closer to the other male half breed. He smiled slightly, Gerrardan had a slightly protective look on his face. Guess he doesn't like the tall on man handling his friend?
"From the protective looks on your three faces," he nodded to include Jerarda, "I take it you all are going to stick together in this war?" If so, that would mean Gerrarden should be in good hands and not do something too rash.... He turned towards Lasarra, "Where will you try to station yourself for this war?" She wasn't a meek person so probably in the main body? Or would she try to scout? If she was willing to scout than he could at least stick by her side. She'd done fairly well keeping up with him the first time they'd met, so scouting was definitely possible right?

He called out to the leaders, "My skills as a hunter may come in useful to you as a scout. Where do you wish me to station myself to aid you in that way?"

Vollerei post 3/4

Vollerei shook her head, so many people in this small gathering! She apparently needed to get out and talk to more people.... Maybe she could meet people over food. Speaking of which, how was this army gonna feed itself? If they all relied on everyone hunting for themselves, this area would be hunted out! She smiled at her thoughts, the leaders were prepared for this surely so they must be bringing in food. I hope there's tasty stuff I haven't seen before! She saw Jerarda look nervous and worried about something. What was she worried about? The war would be over soon anyways right? She patted her friend on the shoulder, "What's got you worried Jerarda? This war won't be too bad, we're prepared and our sisters are all fighters. Or is it something else?"

User ImageSenja post 3/4
Sejna looked a little guilty.
"Sorry bout that. I wanted to go explore the mountain a bit, but I got caught in a sudden snow storm before I could make it back to camp." She reached up and patted her mammu's trunk. "Ete found Shilea here and brought her to where I was buried in the snow. After that I got found by this really nice boy Rasitan. He's cute." She winked at her friend. "Lovely long purple hair too. I would have sent word back, but there were some... things that happened. But I'm here now!" She paused to listen to the leaders. It was reassuring, though the prospect of war was still scary.

She nodded and giggled at Niadra's words. "Oh I agree! Fighting's not something I want to do! I'd rather stay here and help the healers. At least I'll be helping instead of going out there and dying cause I can't fight." Though Rastian would be out there... and she hoped he didn't do anything to get too hurt or killed.

Grasshopper Pie
"Like my Papa!" Ime chirped. She released Gaddok's hand and admired his sailscales before turning back to him. He was the focus, not the reptiles that crawled over him. "Do you know hi--?"

There was another blue person speaking. Ime was beginning to notice more and more blue in the crowd. Her Papa could be here! When Gaddok mentioned that he had to go, she simply nodded. "It's okay! I'll be alright! I promise I won't go any further." Even if she really, really wanted to. "My Mama is somewhere near. Soon she'll yell for me and then I can find her!"

Her poor mother's frustration was like a game, it seemed.

"Try not to get hurt!" she told both men, hand on her hip, pointing.

Duke Drake Edward
Kiyelt nodded and smiled at Gaddock. " I have your back man. Mind if I travel with you? I don't know that many around here."

Kiyelt grinned at the impertinant little miss telling them not to get hurt. He bowed deeply. "I'll do my best, be safe yourself little princess." He winked at Gaddock.

Who knew what would happen out there in the maw of the beast of war? Some where chewed and spit out like so much carrion to be consumed later by the scavengers, others miraculously came out the other end mostly or completely unscathed. Luck, experience, choice. That was what mattered. One could only try to keep away from the teeth, and Gaddock too.

Gaddok: Post 4

Gaddok didn't feel comfortable leaving Ime by herself, but he couldn't grab her arm and drag her through every nursing tent until he found her family either. Taking her word for it, Gaddok knelt down to Ime and smiled, "I can't guarantee I won't be injured, but if I do end up back here you'll come visit me, right?"

After getting an answer from Ime he patted her head and stood up, "you take care of yourself, and if you run into trouble you start yelling for me. I'll find you." 'Or die trying...' He thought to himself as he looked around at the more experienced warriors passing through the camp.

“Well then, I need to find a place where I can sort through all the things I brought with me; kind of had to pack on the fly.” He said to Kiyelt before turning to find an empty tent. Dumping the contents of his bag across an empty cot, he began to sort.

His unmentionables were of course concealed in a side pocket and hadn’t fallen from the bag. He had two changes of socks, ripped up cotton shirts for bandages on the go, his journal and stationary with a few envelopes, and several ink pens. Regrettably, he hadn’t stopped at home to get some healing herbs from his mother, but he knew had he stopped he wouldn’t be here now. Placing everything back in his pack, Gaddok slung it over his shoulder and grabbed his sword, “Think we should get some sort of healing salves or potions or whatever the healers will spare us before we head out? I think it might be nice to have something out on the field; even basic healing might save lives in this battle.”

Gaddok peeked out of the tent, looking both ways before stepping out and getting a better look around, “Any idea which way the healing tents are, or are they just disbursed throughout?” He asked Kiyelt while glancing over his shoulder to make sure Norcrest wasn’t trying to n** at his ears.

Post 3 --> Healing Tent with Biroki and others

Salves? Well, Uquin was familiar with some of the herbs and other medicinal plants he saw as he poked through a few of the bags. Many of them were from Jauhaur - something about a poisonous landscape somehow produced more medicinal plants than other places, like the Talean Sahara. These he wasn't familiar with - as well as other plants he saw. "Perhaps a demonstration would help, sir." He admitted a bit sheepishly. Despite his willingness to learn, Uquin somehow felt a bit disheartened at just how useless he felt at this moment.

So instead of dwelling, he brushed past the other prentices and instead picked up what bags he could, moving them to a table that had been erected with a mortar and pestle, with jars and bowls at the ready to hold the salve when it was finished. When he moved a few of the bags, Uquin spotted a large stack of palettes in the corner of the tent - and he realized, with a start, they were meant for the wounded if the tent was to fill up.

Suddenly the prospect that this large tent could soon be brimming with the wounded - so many that they may have no choice but to lay people in the grass beyond the tent, laying in these palettes, wounded and possibly dying -- it was overwhelming.

The prospect only made him more willing to help. Shaking the sudden nerves as best he could, Uquin returned with another handful of bags to the table and opened them up, peering inside for anything that looked familiar - and reached inside to pull out some medicinal roots that, when pounded into a paste, could be used to (somewhat haphazardly) plug up a badly bleeding wound.

Ethelfleade: post 3 : Kaalnia

She had just pushed through the people when an interesting looking alkidike came running up to her. She was the first she had met since leaving home, though she had seen plenty in the camp, none had stopped to speak to her. "Help find some people? That sounds like an impossible quest in a place with so many people in it. I must confess, though. I don't think I would be much help since I don't know anybody here. My name is Ethelfleade, but you can call me Fleade if you like. Although I don't know anybody, I'd be willing to try and help you look." She told the Alkidike with a smile on her face. Maybe it would help her meet people too. That'd be good, right? Nobody wanted to die without any friends.

Finnley: post 4 : Natsu & Viveka

Natsu's touch was just as soothing as his music was. She could understand why Viveka would lean against him. "I wish things could be solved more p-peacefully. I am sorry you lost your mother, Viveka, that is a hard thing to get over. Hopefully the world isn't cruel enough to take another family member from you. I hope my family is safe..." Finnley felt like she was rambling, but it was so easy to talk to these two, especially with as strung as her nerves were, this simple conversation was going a long way for her.

Aminah (Post 2)

Aminah stopped at the sounds of Sathe's voice. She was pacing, wasn't she? She could really help it though. She kicked the hard dirt at her feet and sighed. "You're right. Of course." She walked back to Sathe and sat on the crate next to her sister.

Before she could really say anything else though, the leaders had left their tent and were addressing the crowd. The ice woman Freya said what she needed to say and Aminah sighed. "That was basically like saying nothing." Though she couldn't blame her. It was probably either too hard to get information, or the information wasn't very positive, or a mix of both. "I hope they're not just keeping bad news from us." She leaned over and whispered to her sister.

She stood back up and rubbed her sisters head, ruffling the wavy hair and smiling down to Sathe. "I'm just too worried for my own good. I know that." Her eyes shifted to the group. "I'm going to get a closer look. I'll be right back, promise." Aminah let her hand leave Sathe's head and with a quick look back, made her way into the crowd. She was so focused on the leaders standing around though that she seemed to have failed to assess the people right in front of her.

She nearly walked into an ice earthling and an Alkidike woman before realizing what she was doing. "Oh! Sorry! I guess I should watch where I'm going." She apologized to the two women in front of her.

Sathe (Post 2)

Sathe listened to what the leaders had to say, her large eyes narrowing at the lack of information. No matter. This is what had to be done, and in her opinion, there was only so prepared you could actually be for something so entirely up to fate as war. If they were trained and at their top game, they would have to push through.

She closed her eyes and let her sister ruffle her hair with a smile on her face. "I'm glad you said it and not me. You're too wound up for your own good is what you are." She laughed to her sister before looking up through her mess of hair. "Don't rush on my account. You probably have friends here anyways. I'm heading back to the healing tents." Sathe got up and stretched, smiling to her sister one more time. "Really. Go."

She watched her sister recede and took a quick look around. Maybe she should have gotten to know the camp better before she was on her own. She would have to find the healing tents first. Only a few minutes of searching later, she was in one of the more open healing tents. Two side of the square tent were pulled back and wrapped up to let air to leak through and with the added shade, it was nice. Sathe tried to focus on wrapping up individual bandages to prepare for the wounded that would come through. She didn't know much about the healing arts yet, but she was planning on learning eventually so this would just be a crash course of sorts. She let the motion of pulling, cutting and rolling the bandages relax her muscles.

Kadriye p4

"No, sorry, I'm not privy to battle plans or strategy yet." As she spoke Kadriye shook her head and tried not to sigh. She had a long way to go before such responsibilities were placed on her shoulders, it was both a good thing and a bad thing. Although Briella's confidence in her made Kadriye wish that time would come sooner, she wanted to live up to the sort of image the older female had of her.

The young woman leaned forward resting much of her weight upon her weapon. Dark eyes gazed out over the crowd looking for those who seem uncertain and unsure of things as well. There were so many warriors here, surely the fire tribe could not have better numbers than they, unless they had some hidden ally from a land not yet touched by Alkidike or the other earthling tribes.

Of course superior tactics could beat number and brute strength so that too was a potential problem. " It will be okay, Aisha will not let us fail." Kadriye murmured trying to convince Briella as much as herself.

If you want to make kaa really be lucky, maybe Aminah could have heard her name vaguely mentioned? Subconciously? I dont know XD Or Kaa can be massively unlucky today. As if a stomach bug didnt suck enough.

[Not Counting][Kaalnia -> Ethelfleade -> Around]

"Yeah, its like finding a leaf on a tree. I don't even have any descriptions of them... Just names. You know a 'Rishima', 'Yaholo', 'Aminah', or 'Rastian' by any chance? I.... think the first two are, like, half Alkidike and the second two are..." Kaalnia hesitated, "Huh. They're all half SOMEthing. I wonder if thats a coincidence...." she shrugged, "Either way, Fleade - pretty name, by the way - a sister who's a friend of my sister wants to see them before they go off to war and I'd be really happy if you helped me find them for her... are you going off to war too?" because it would be really, really, nice if this lady wasn't so that Kaalnia could get to know her better... and take her mind off of her worries about which of her sisters or the lovely fighting ladies around her wouldn't be coming back, or whether it should have been her.

Suddenly someone bumped into her. It took Kaalnia a moment to respond because she was slightly speechless. Wow. This girl - older lady really - was damn good looking. With lovely hair. And those eyes. Just wow. Kaalnia found her voice again. "Nah, sure, it's totally fine!" she said, giving Aminah a pat on the shoulder, brushing off some dust, "Everybody is in a hurry around here!" she winced, "which is making finding people a real pain because they're buzzing around like crazy" she laughed, "Not that it'll get any less busy, ya know? Headed anywhere in particular?" What was she doing? She had to get to finding these people before it was too late. But maybe this lady could help. Maybe they both could help. Kaalnia was taking any and all help on this task.

        Zuri
She nodded. "Yes you are great hands. He would be out fighting with me but he is a trained healer, and someone had to stay and take care of the girls." she said with a shrug. She knew that her husband wanted to fight with her, but she was proud that he chose to stay back and protect the others. Healing was just as important, if not more important, than fighting. Plus now he could look over Alek as well, which was very important. She didn't want anything happening to her little brother!

When he said that his twin sister wasn't there she nodded, but the way that he said it... Well he was still her little brother, and Zuri knew something was up. When he told her that he left without telling her Zuri's eyes grew wide. Kayin was known to have a temper, more so than Alek or Zuri, and she wondered what would happen to Alek when he went back home to her. "I see... Well if after all this you don't want to go home and face the music you can stay with me and my family." she suggested. She thought it was a wonderful idea, and she was sure that her husband wouldn't mind either.

        Ilyra
When Tahigwa threw her arms around Ilyra the girl snuggled into the hug, relief flooding through her as she apologized and said that she wouldn't do it again. Although before Ilyra thought she would never forgive Tahigwa, at least not so easily, with Tahigwa standing there before her there was no way that she wouldn't forgive her. This was her best friend, and she loved Tahigwa. She would forgive anything that Tahigwa did. "As long as you promise to never do it again I forgive you. At least tell me next time, I would have loved to go on an adventure with you." she said with a sheepish grin.

As Tahigwa pulled away and the elders spoke she frowned slightly. That wasn't a very good speech, and Ilyra was pretty sure it invoked more fear than strength which wasn't what they needed. When Tahigwa looked back at her she could see the fear, and Ilyra tried to hide it from her own eyes. Maybe if she looked confident than they would be both feel better.

"And we will kick butt." she said when her friend trailed off. She didn't like where this was going, but the blush on Tahigwa's face made her more than curious. "We are gonna make this, as is my mom and your brother. We will all be fine. And of course, you know I could never think anything bad of you."

        Ikuri
Ikuri smiled at her sister. See she had friends that wasn't Ikkio. It wasn't a competition or anything, but sometimes it kinda was. But still, she would share these friends with her sister. "It's nice to meet you, you are part shifter like us?" she asked Aysun with a wide smile. He had hair like hers, but he was a different color and also his crystals were different. She like the one on his head. She looked at his twin brother and than back at them. They were kinda cute, being around both sets of twins kind of made her wish that her skin was more brown like them.

As Samoset hopped in front of her she couldn't help but laugh and hug the boy. She had liked his hair from the first time she met him, and she had even talked her mama into letting her cut her hair like his when she was older. "I'm good, Mama is getting ready to go fight so she left Ikkio and I at the tent with my Dad." she said pointing back to where her mother was talking to some ice man and it looked like her father was taking charge. "When I told Mama about you she told me that she was friends with your daddy, and that she would be fighting along side him since she knows that he is a great warrior." she said with a nod. It made her happy that her mom would be fighting with people that she knew were awesome.

The next thing she knew Kennet was wailing about his father dying, and one of the twins was talking about them getting out of the way. "Don't worry Kennet, Mama said that your dad is really strong and I'm sure that with Mama watching his back and him watching Mama's back the two of them will be fine."

She turned back to Chandra. "If you want we can all go to my Dad's tent? He made room for me and Ikkio so we could stay out of the way, but I'm sure it is more than big enough for all four of us. Plus than we could be useful if he needed us." her Dad had said that the girls would be able to get supplies and maybe even send messages between him and other healers and she didn't want to be away from the action.

        Briella
She nodded. "That's fine, give you enough time to be just a tiny bit normal before you are forced to take on all those responsibilities. It's good." she said with a smile. She knew that the time would come that Kadriye would be responsible for things like that, and so much more, and Briella wasn't excited about that. She barely got to see Kadriye, when Kadriye had the weight of their people on her shoulders... Well Briella didn't want to think about that.

When Kadriye said that Aisha would not let them fail she laughed. She hadn't thought of that before. "You are so right, there is no way that Aisha would let so many of her daughters go to battle if she was not sure that we would win. Kadriye you should be the one up there speaking, I'm sure it would make everyone feel a lot better. Well our sisters anyways." the earthlings didn't understand their Aisha, but she knew that if the sisters thought of the battle how she was thinking of it now they would all feel much better.

        Niadra
Niadra nodded. "That's fine, as long as you are fine now all is well." she said in a reassuring voice. She really was just glad that Senja was fine and not dead as she had worried.

When she said something about a cute boy and winked Niadra's eyes raised. In all the time that she knew Senja the girl had never really taken a shine to anyone. "Oh purple hair? Tell me more! Is he here? I want to meet him!" she said excitedly.

"Yes, we are much more useful here. They gave me a few basic lessons in healing, and what is good for what, earlier but mostly I think I'll just be fetching things for the real healers." she said with a shrug. It wasn't as fun as dancing, but it was important.

        Lasarra
She hugged Rayolun back happily. It was good that they were together, but at the same time she did wish it was other different circumstances. The last time she had seen him was when they were fighting as well.

She didn't like what the leaders had to say, and Izsha moved closer to her. She buried her hands in her companions fur. She looked at the group that she was in and felt confident. They all seemed more than capable. There was a little bit of tension, but there was tension everywhere you looked. People weren't use to coming together, at least this group was mostly sisters or at least half sisters.

When Rayolun asked where she would try to station herself she shrugged. "Where ever I am need, a scout would be a good idea but at the same time that would separate me from Kelina..." where was her sister, the fighting was gonna start and they wouldn't be together. That wasn't okay. All of a sudden Kelina's little sprite came into view, and soon after her sister with a shifter male in tow. "There you are, I was beginning to worry that we wouldn't find each other. Good thing you have Nibby." she said hugging her sister and winking at the sprite. She was fond of the sprite, and personally wished for one of her own. One day.
