Anandi was quite happy to start shoveling some of the homemade goodies she brought, plopping down on the linen with a smile. "You know I wanted to see you! The eclipse is just an excuse and besides, Mama wanted pictures and she didn't want me out without a chaperon so it all worked out nicely! I think the universe wanted us to be here, you know~?"

With a giggle, Anandi pulled out some homemade potato salad and was directing Gwen to place her head on the Indian girl's lap to be fed like a prince. Scooping up just enough to not make a huge mess, Anandi was about to give Gwen the first spoonful when a small, rabbit-like creature appeared in her face. It touched her on the forehead in an instant and Anandi shrieked, throwing the salad all over.

"AIIEEEEEE GWEN IT WAS A SPIDER! IT WAS A SPIDER EEEEEEE!!"

Christa was trying to keep her cool, attempting to figure out what to do if Chris and Paris had decided to pay her a visit and bean her over the head with a turkey leg. Zach was behind her, hitting on everything that remotely resembled a female, as per usual. The teen lifted her head to the sky, wondering how she could explain everything to Paris in real time and not sound like a complete idiot when something gray, like her hair, small and fluffy appeared in front of her face.

Zach apparently saw it too, because he backed up into his sister. "Uh... Christa? Bunny alert!"

"Wha...?" Reaching out to touch the strange thing, Christa was mere millimeters away when the rabbit reached out a tiny nubbin and brushed her forehead. She blinked in surprise and it vanished. Her phone buzzed and for a moment, she hesitated to answer. Zach was busy brushing his hair as if the rabbit was a bug caught in it (or perhaps it relieved itself on him before escaping?) and Christa figured if he was acting normally, he must be fine. Reading the text from Penelope, Christa typed out a response.

The text-alert on Harper's civilian phone shook her out of the forced reverie, if it could be called that. It was more like a bundle of suspicion. Whatever the universe had in store for her now, at least, it should know that she did not take kindly to such things. Starseeds could be plenty demanding all on their own. Clicking the phone on, she saw it was a short message from Penelope.

"Flying bunnies? Everyone okay?"

Harper replied, "Unsure. Still alive. Where are you?" It was very likely Penelope was at the viewing party, but it would be worthwhile to know if some other area was being affected, too. She bit her lip, regretting not seeking out her friend in the crowd sooner.



Sekani took another bite of his cookie. And then another, finishing it off, in some possibly detrimental version of the scientific method. A quick look around the crowd showed some confused faces and a low rumble of murmurs beneath the regular festival chatter. No more lunar nuggets came from the moon, unfortunately.(?) He shut off the camera, satisfied that he had captured all of the supernatural phenomena at the moment.

From the corner of his eye, Sekani spotted a familiar pile of dark rainbow hair and tan skin at the nearby wastebin. Now he could look like a total loon in front of someone he knew! If it was just imagined, maybe Krishna would get a kick out of it.

"Krishna! YO DUDE KRISHNAAA!" he called out, shuffling through the bit of crowd separating them in record time. "I need you to drug test me!"

“If I had a dollar for every time I heard that, I’d have more singles than the hired stripper at a Bachelorette party,” Lune murmured to himself, opting not to go further with the comment. Instead, he gave a half-shrug and sipped at his beer once more. It wasn’t his fault that he enjoyed… aged wines, really. They just had a much finer finish, a more polished taste. Why bother dallying with uncultured beers and the like? No, Lune had his sights set on better things.

…Right. Maybe he was running a bit too far with this metaphor.

The nod was a nice segue out of the conversation, and Lune very quickly intended to make a response on the subject. Some well-timed questions about their recent dalliances with a certain youma, and—

What in god’s name was that?

Oh. Right. The eclipse. The reason they had all come out here this evening. Lune’s gaze slipped up to the sudden darkness, and for a moment, it really was breathtaking. Maybe it was a shame he didn’t… actually date people. Just slept around and did whatever he pleased. There wasn’t anyone to share these sorts of moments with, and…

A strange little rabbit creature seemed to dance across the wind, and touch briefly on his forehead. Before he could make a comment otherwise, it vanished like the fine morning mist. Lune turned to make a comment to Michael, on how maybe his suspicions had been right, when the other man… protectively… stepped in front of him.

Unbeknownst to Michael, Lune’s face was rather flushed by the incredibly strange turn this had just taken. Yes, alright, he was a bit of a flirt and tried to bed anyone he could, but… that wasn’t a move you pulled on someone you really didn’t give a s**t about. Maybe he was just reaching, but it was possible he was cracking at this little façade Michael had up.

Or, you know. He was drinking too much, seeing sky rabbits, and thinking his ex teacher was a decent human being.

Turning, Lune poured his beer into the grass with a frown, not saying a word to the other man. Instead, he pulled his phone out to text dear, darling Kor. Who, at the very least, made sense most of the time.

*‘So what the ******** was in that beer???’*

"Sekani?"

Krishna looked up from the trash can the instant he heard his name shouted, and a rare smile lit up his face. He had not seen the fascinating creature since their encounter with the popcorn trees... but he still looked every bit the rarity now as he had then.

His request, however, was much more dubious. Give a drug test? Why would he even think that an athelete of Krishna's standing would know how to do such a thing? (He knew a little, courtesy of Richard and Danny and, of course, some of the plants he had studied but nothing that would hold up in court.) A single eyebrow rose, but he certainly was not going to miss an opportunity to further impress this one.

Krishna reached out to pull Sekani closer. When in range, he tilted the bluenette's face up with one hand, needing more light from the street lamp for what he wanted to do. "Checking for small, fixed pupils. Sign of opiates." Then, more softly, he asked, "Is it because of those... things?"

If they had both seen them, then perhaps neither of them were victims as they each seemed to believe.

"That was before we were dating, darling," Alistair pointed out, "and I have been trying since." Succeeding, even, for the most part.

Gabriel rested his forehead against Des's chest, taking long deep breaths. Was this really happening? Was he really having what amounted to a panic attack over ******** translucent fairy bunnies? And then, something registered with him.

"Angel?"

"Well naturally, you're my handsome knight, and I unfortunately don't share well. At least when it's something important." Alistair replied. "And you're very important."

Gabriel laughed faintly. "Ah, yes, that's...yeah, that makes sense." He reached out and gently grabbed onto Des's shirt with one hand.
