Dysmas smiled lightly at Sweetie, it had taken a lot of exertion to get the heavy log standing upright. He probably should have asked for help even, he really didn't have the strength for something like that, but he hadn't want to ask more of Sweetie, so instead he took a breather as his muscles trembled from the exhaustion, he tried to not let it show though. "Yeah... kind of seems silly... like we just planted a tree... but those trees are too tall to provide us any real protection... at least when we drape the leaves over, they'll touch the ground so it will be like a cave?" Dysmas tried to describe it to her, since he realized she probably had no idea what he had been thinking of the whole time.

Sweetie scratched her head, looking at the tree. Well, he was kind of right about it looking weird. But it wouldn't be the first time she'd slept in a tree. There was that one time when she'd visited the library in Ponyville... She shook the thought from her mind and looked at the fronds she'd been weaving together.
"Makes sense. Kinda. So... We'll have protection from the weather after I finish this right?" She offered, holding up the mostly woven roof. It wasn't like she knew what she was doing, but it was most certainly better than nothing. And best yet, it was time for a long break. He had earned it after all that work with the tree. Stubborn man, she would have helped if he'd let her. She knew how heavy that trunk was.
"When you catch your breath a little do you want to go to the water front?"

"That's the idea." Dysmas said, he was still uncertain about it the idea had seemed better in his mind, but they still had the roof to put on, so maybe it would work out. "It should at the very least keep us warm being in a more enclosed space?" He stopped talking and stayed silent for a while. Too worn out to do anymore talking or thinking. When Sweetie spoke up about going to the beach he simply nodded his head.

Sweetie smiled a bit, not at all minding his quiet. She was concerned that he was overly tired, but there wasn't anything she could do about it right then. He seemed to like the water, and a trip to the beach was the least of what she could do for him.
For now, she was happy to have finally finished what looked like at least a passable roof. With a small oof, from moving after sitting still so long, Sweetie Drops stood up, careful not to twist the roof too much in the action. "Ready for the roof?" She grinned, stretching, causing a few pops and cracks and grunts of general moved muscles. The faun was happy to stretch, especially after remaining seated so long.
Slowly, mostly to be careful, she picked up the fronds she had been working on and tossed them over the opening on the tree trunk. She started to scramble a little when it looked like they weren't going to make it, but to her surprise they actually slid over the other side more than anything.
"Whoops!" She laughed, pulling it back to center it. They had a roof now. Shelter, roof, coconuts... This island wasn't going to be too bad was it?
"Are you ready for the beach or would you like to rest more?" Sweetie asked, trying to make sure he was comfortable. He had done the same for her when she was in the same condition not that long ago.

Dysmas stood up ready to help Sweetie put the roof on, only to have her already tossing it over him. Part of the roof his his head, it didn't hurt, just surprised him. "Oof." He said as he ducked out of the way to let it fall where it was supposed to. He popped out of an opening in the roof. "There, looks good." Dysmas said as he stood back to observe their little tent-like structure. He hoped it would do the trick, if not all this hard work would be for nothing, and it would be his fault. The male took a deep breath. "Heading to the beach would probably be a good idea." The male agreed with a nod of his head, he started to head in that direction, though turned to look over his shoulder at the tent again. "Good teamwork..."

Sweetie panicked a bit when she heard him oof. He was already so tired, and she'd just hit him with the roof! She was standing on the tip of her hooves to see if he'd fallen over or anything else serious. The fauny was worried about him, regardless of if it would have hurt or not.
"It looks cozy." She chewed her lip, seeing him poke his head out of an opening. "Are you alright?" Came her next words, more concerned about his health right now than the roof being full of holes still.
"C'mon out of there, I'll help get you to the beach?" Sweetie tentatively smiled. She wanted to keep him healthy. He seemed to know more about survival than she did.

Dysmas nodded his head as he slowly climbed out, "Yeah, I'm alright, I was just being dramatic really." He smiled to show that he was telling the truth. He held out his hand for her so they could walk down to the beach together. Thankfully his legs weren't so tired, it was more his torso, so walking probably wasn't going to be a problem. However, he doubted he'd do much swimming, but just plop down on the shore and let the waves lap over his legs. Dysmas let out a big yawn as they walked together. "This was a really hard day... but now that the hard works out of the way, maybe things will get easier." And hopefully help would come... Dementia Requeim Asumi I know I've been really slow, so if you want to start moving things along more with longer posts that briefly sum up some of the slow stuff, we can do that

Sweetie kept an eye on him the entire time. He looked worse than he said he felt... His words did little to reassure her of how he was doing. But then, she had done the same thing earlier hadn't she? With a forced smile, Sweetie faced her fears, going with him into the water, still terribly worried about Dysmas.
This time, she didn't go in as deep as she had the first time. Which is probably the whole reason that she didn't start hyperventilating. Near death calls in the water is enough scare anyone away from it. Right? She glanced over at Dysmas, checking on him.
After a while, her skin was pruny and she had grown extremely tired, Sweetie Drops decided to get out of the water. Whatever it was Dysmas was doing, she didn't want to interrupt him. With another glance over her shoulder, she walked back to the camp and waited for him to return while inside the tree.
Figuring he was going to be both hungry and thirsty, she grabbed a couple of coconuts and had started to crack them.

Dysmas hadn't expected Sweetie to join him, he didn't even go very far into the water. At first he just put his feet in and soaked up the moisture, after a while he started to let the lapping water pull him out and let the salt water cool the burning muscles of his torso. He smiled when he saw Sweetie swimming though, but he was mostly watching the horizon for any signs of anything. Finally when the sun was starting to set, Dysmas stood up and headed back to the campsite as well. "Oh wow, didn't expect you to do that." It had been a hard day, and Dysmas had admittedly not wanted to put the effort it took to eat. They really needed to find something easier to eat, maybe he would have to start catching fish when he went for his swims... Dysmas joined Sweetie for the meal, as their campsite started to get increasingly dark, Dysmas became more mindful of the sounds of the jungle. He was thinking about the mess he had found on the beach earlier, hoping that whatever had done that was not interested in Pae. "We should get inside I think." Dysmas finally said, perhaps the hut would shield them from predators as well.

Sweetie smiled, making sure he had gotten a decent amount of coconut milk and meat. He needed it more than she did. "Least I could do, you looked beat." She shrugged, working on a couple more coconuts while she still had the light.
When he suggested moving inside, the faunie nodded her agreement. Something was out there, even if she couldn't see it. She didn't know what or where, but it felt like something was waiting for them. With a shiver, she climbed into the trunk, waiting for Dysmas. It was a lot more cozy than where they'd spent the previous night. And warmer. Sweetie Drops smiled at the thought of it.

The sun had barely broken the horizon when the female arose. Her internal clock said it was far later than it was, or maybe it was because she'd just gotten too warm? Why was it warm anyways? She squeezed her eyes tighter shut, trying to get rid of the morning crusties. Ugh, they felt like sand in her eyes. With a quiet groan, she reached up to wipe at her face.
What was that? She bumped something warm with her hand. It was soft too... What was warm and soft? Groggy, she cracked an eye to see what it was that she'd woken to. Oh Great Celestia she snuggled up to Dysmas in her sleep again!
Sweetie flushed beet red almost instantaneously, embarrassed that she hadn't even realized this was going on. Oh Celestia how could she keep doing that to the poor guy? She just hoped he didn't notice what she kept doing. That would make her feel just terrible. Straight up terrible.

It had taken Dysmas a while to fall asleep after they moved into the hut, even with it being a good shelter from the wind and stayed decently warm from trapping in most of their heat. He was still concerned about whatever he knew was lurking out there. It eats birds, not pae he would chant within his mind as he lay awake. He had actually been awake when she had began to scoot closer to him. He sort of smiled as she moved closer. He knew he should probably scoot away... she was asleep and couldn't help it. He thought it was cute though, and in truth it was the final soothing he needed to help him sleep. Dysmas did miss the commotion she made about it in the morning though, waking up was the last thing he wanted to do after it took so long to fall asleep. And after all the physical exertion of the day before, his body needed the extra rest. It was probably closer to noon when he woke up. He blinked for a few times before sitting up. "Sweetie?" he called out, noticing her absence immediately. He wondered what she had thought when she had woken up and he was there, probably scared her half to death. The male buried his face in his hands, that was embarrassing. Now that they seemed to have most of their basic needs met, it seemed like they could start taking it easy and watch the shoreline for rescue.

Sweetie had recovered from her episode that morning, at least enough to realize she needed to go forage for breakfast. Coconuts were great, but it was time for something different she thought. Humming to herself, she started through the nearby trees.
She had spent the later part of the morning looking for anything in the trees that might be edible. There wasn't all that terrible much, just larger and larger bunches of coconuts. Eventually, the faunie had sighed and headed back when she noticed a funny looking plantation of spikey things. She scratched her head, it looked like something familiar, but entirely strange at the same time...
After a few minutes of trying her best to recall it, she realized it was a pineapple plant! Licking her lips, Sweetie looked for anything to get it out of it's plant with. Oh Sweet Celestia she was excited for this. Something other than coconuts for breakfast! It took her a few minutes, but she finally got it free and started to head back to camp.
It was just after noon when she returned with her loot. Some pineapples, some coconuts, and more leaves to carry everything in. It was going to be a good day, she could just feel it.

Dysmas had walked around the hut a few times, looking for Sweetie. He was starting to worry he had scared her off and was getting ready to head down to the beach to look for her there when she came back into the campsite... carrying something other than coconuts! "What did you find?" He asked as he walked up to meet her, the excitement was clear in his tone. "Did you... sleep alright last night?" he ever-so-subtly asked.

She smiled, holding up the pineapple for him to see. Thank Celestia she found it, he looked as relieved to see non coconuts as she was to find it. And then his next question... Sweetie blushed a deep deep pink. He knew she'd slept next to him!
"Um..." The faunie fumbled, really wanting to turn away and hide. But she had to own up to it eventually didn't she? "Yeah, I slept great... Did you?" He hadn't said anything bad against her snuggling up to him had he? Hopefully he didn't mind it. Oh it was embarrassing to be called out like this.

Dysmas' eyes widened. That was going to be different then the coconut to figure out how to get past its exterior, but it would be worth the reward. Darn, not subtle enough, it seemed like she might be on to him. He didn't want her to know he knew, that would make things awkward. Dysmas attempted to recover. "Yeah, having the hut was great, it did wonders. Just wasn't sure how you liked it." Dysmas took a deep breath before biting his lip in though. "Why don't we take that pineapple down to the beach. We can try and work on opening it while we watch for boats?" Dysmas grabbed a few things before they headed down. The bottle of wine that had washed up with him, if all else failed they could shatter the glass and use that. A small rock and a long stick, he was going to try and sharpen it into a spear to give them the option of fish as well, maybe it'd be sharp enough to get into the coconut as well. "Ready." He told her as they began the familiar trek down to the water.
