Stay away from jungles, oceans, and desserts. Check. Out of context, that didn't seem all that helpful, but she filed it away for later use anyways.

Al shuffled into the room late and deftly made an apple pie vanish before suddenly realizing things were being discussed.

Gale studiously ignored Marcus and Nick and gave the new girl a glance.
"You just awakened?"

Peyton froze with with her fork halfway to her mouth, then blinked over towards the blonde who had warned her about the Sahara. "Yep, fresh from the pods." She finished her bite, chewing slowly as she savored the creamy goodness. Maybe she wasn't learning a whole bunch, but at least she was getting free pie. "Your self?" She did keep Lavender eyes on the young man, turning a little in her seat so she was facing in his general direction. She wasn't strictly polite, but right that moment there was no cause for rudeness.

Makayla kept making mental notes of what she needs to do and not do. Avoid certain areas, get a shot of some kind, and not take pictures. Yea seriously, no pictures. Finishing the last of her pie, she taps her fork against her mouth for a moment as she debates.
Maybe just a small piece.
Glancing around, she carefully reaches over and grabs herself a smaller piece this time. Leaning back, she crossed her legs as she just watch a few of the interactions.

Gale reached over with a foot and hooked it around the chair nearest to him, dragging it towards him and then using it as a stool to prop both feet up on, hands folded across his lap.
"Nope," he said, and Jinhai made a soft amused sound in his head. "Been here almost three years already."
His eyes flitted across to one of the other new hunters.
"What division are you two in, do you know?"

Having finally reached her limit with the pie, Peyton set her fork down in the clear bit of the tin before leaning on the table in the direction of Gale. Blonde brows arching impressively at the length of time he'd already been a hunter. "So you're like full fledged then?" What had Rep and them said in the cove? Trainee, intermediate, and full hunter? That sounded about right, though admittedly, Peyton had been a little distracted by Jerry's singing, and overwhelming desires to make said singing stop. A twitch of s smirk crossed the petite girl's lips at the question of division. She'd only been awake for a day, and already she was proud in the division she'd been placed into. It was fitting, at least in her humble opinion. "Sun."

Makayla glance up as she heard someone ask what division she was in. Swallowing the piece she had in her mouth, she turns to Peyton and the hunter before her. Tilting her head, she sat the plate down then the fork as she with him a smirk "Moon Division myself." and from what she was seeing. She was going to really like being apart of the Moon Division.

A vague, almost-smile flitted across Gale's face, slightly ironic and mildly wry. "That's right," he answered. "I'm a full-fledged hunter."
Sun for one, Moon for another. Bix would be pleased to hear that there were more newbies, and Marcus would probably be thrilled.
"I'm of Death Division. My name is Gale Gentry, by the way."

Makayla gives Gale another smile "Makayla Winston, but you can all me Ayla."
Full fledged hunter, she makes a note of this.

A genuine smile was offered to Gale as he confirmed her guess and introduced himself and what division he was from. "I'm Peyton." She jerked a thumb at the other newbie. "That's Ayla." You couldn't really call them friends, considering they'd just met, but there had been the tiniest bit of bonding going on between them in the pod room. A shared displeasure for for their greeting as a whole, among other things. So far she'd really only gotten to hear about Sun Division and what was to be expected from her, but she was curious about the others, and the roles they played. Life, she knew, handled the sciency bits. Beyond that, she wasn't sure. "So what does Death division do?" The tip of a nail tapped the table. "And the others as well, for that matter."

If he had been anyone else, he might have smiled, but Gale was Gale and therefore he just gave them both a little nod in greeting, absently twisting the silver banded ring on his right index finger.
"Death Division is in charge of intel," he said. "Gathering information, presenting it before missions, stuff like that. We're the brains behind the operations, and we give information to the Life Division, who in turn delves deeper into things. They do the hardcore research, but they also handle the more scientififc and development aspects of Deus. I'm sure you know about Sun already - they're the brawn, the fighters, the ones at the front of the line. Moon Division tend to be the defenders, the ones who hold the line and make sure that others are taken care of. They also tend to have the most experience when it comes to patching people up. As for Mist, they're the catch-all division; they can go where you need them to, and can pick up in any of the other four divisions. They're the jacks of all trade, so to speak."
He stopped, realizing he was talking a lot, and took a breath, giving a little shrug. "Well, that's the SparkNotes version, at least. Overwhelmed yet?"

Makayla arches a brow as Gale told them both about each branch, her eyes turning towards Peyton only for a brief moment. So she was going to be on the front line, this actually made her smirk as she thought about earlier. Yea, she could see it now. Course she knew about the Moon side of this, but she was even more curious about the other divisions.
Placing her elbow on the table, followed by her chin in her hand, she simply gives a small shake of her head "Not all all, it actually clears up a few things for me." she glance back towards Peyton then Gale "But I am curious, how are we chosen for our divisions, and what if we ever decided it wasn't the one we want to be in? Then what?"

Not a very smiley individual, was he? Then again, neither was Peyton, now being an obvious exception. She was finally getting some good, solid, information, and that was making her happy. "A little," she admitted, rolling her shoulders in a small shrug. "Though that's not really your fault. I've been pretty overwhelmed from the moment I woke up, but I'm sure that'll fade in time." The shock would ware off, and in a day or two she'd be just as jaded and cynical as she ever was. "It's nice to meet you, Gale." And it really was. So far, of all the hunters she'd met, he was the most level headed and helpful. Oh sure, the majority of them had been nice, but she was quickly learning that their minds were on more then just their jobs. Since he'd already volunteered quite a bit of information, perhaps he'd share a little more. "So what sort of weapon do you have?" Come to that, she wondered what Ayla had ended up with as well, and she twitched a brow at the other newbie. "You too."
