The tactical retreat had cost them another day of waiting, but with Stormy not at 100%, there was no other choice. Exploring the cave had become something of an after-work pasttime, in the late afternoons after cleaning out minipet tanks.

Many apologies were tossed in about taking her time to recover. Really she had been okay within a day since the burns were minor, but...well, trepidation and work had cost them both.
Stormy made up for it by being extra quiet as they crept in. She told him to go on ahead while she stood guard.

The glow illuminated some kind of kelp-like growth that seemed faintly bioluminescent. Maybe next time he'd bring back a sample of it.
