Of course she did.
"Here you are," she said, reaching back and grabbing one from her elaborately woven braid. "I want it back." Just in case.
A pause. "You look a bit unsure. You can pick locks, right?"

Deryk just gave a nervous look at that as he took the hairpin from Ami. He didn't answer straight up. Then, taking in a deep breath, he began to try and pick the lock on the mysterious box.The pressure was on.

Rep's attention was still on Dwight and as a consequence Mark. He liked the guy but Dwight was acting strange, and he looked like he hadn't slept properly in days. Something bizarre was going on.
Another thought occurred to him. "Wasn't there booze in the room?" Last time he'd visited Mark for info, he'd had plenty of the stuff on hand.

SUSPECT'S INTERROGATION:
Opening dialogue: Mark looks extremely dejected, head slumped against the table. He seems to be pushing the remains of eraser bits back and forth on the table. All hope seems to have escaped from his eyes. Poking him only yields some sort of sort of pliable fleshy lump of what was probably the Death Assistant.
Where were they on the night of the death (October 25 - 31st): "Stuff," Mark says. He mopes and looks extremely sad. "Stuff I would have been doing better if I was being paid more." For a moment a spark lights his eyes. "You try having to manage all the detainment units within the Haunted House with only a single core processing unit, you can't even imagine..." He goes in a bit like this in geek talk.
What were they doing on the night of the death: (October 25 - 31st): "I stayed outside of course." A little more lively, Mark partially moves his head up, looks at Caelius, and then drops it back onto the table. "I was you know, doing what I was assigned to do outside, monitoring our teams and the units within, that's Insanity detainment as well, mixed with Fear it's just like, well, like that episode of Buffy where there was this big bad and then that other big bad and they did bad things. Well like, so I was outside, and stuff, and almost all the teams were inside, and I was listening to them, when I heard a few voices talking, they were setting up a portal for some reason to" Mark paused, eyes dis-focused, before yelling really loudly - "WATCH THE NEW TWILIGHT MOVIE."
He doesn't say anything more on the matter.
What were their relationships to the Council: "Uhhh..." He licks his lips, "Doormat?"
What is their weapon/ what does it use: "Well," Mark suddenly sits up a little straighter, "Well, it was just a matter of time yes, my weapon, it is so awesome, so amazing, you will not believe your eyes! All right ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes on this!"
Mark's weapon is a pair of overgrown scissors.

It didn't look like his lockpicking attempt was getting anywhere. But Deryk wasn't going to stop just yet. At least... until he began to hear a steady ticking coming from the box. The blonde's eyes widened and his face paled before he practically threw it back to Ami, along with the hairpin like it was hot potato. "AH! Take it!"

The other hunter with a taste for wine is Leon... and Me and Cass because Leon is a dirty ena-." He stopped, staring at the box. "...............I know I shouldn't have come here." Open DiscussionThe sounds of chatter wasn't nearly as loud in Leon's ears as the sudden ticking sound from Deryks hands as he swatted the assassin wannabe and taking the lead on holding the box. hey ami do you want it back now?. "Uh.... we might have a problem guys." he declared loudly, bring attention to the box he was carefully holding out. Marcus.... lets wine and dine at your place with cass, cool? lets just, get as far away from this room as far as possible. skipping hand in hand.

Open Discussion"Vhy does he look at Caelius?" Lucky had not yet noticed the commotion, fixated on the testimony from Mark. It was easier to spot the body language than make sense of the subtlety of their words (to him anyway). "I definitely see him look at Caelius."

Ami stared at Leon. She didn't like explaining things twice. "Whilst investigating the room we found a secret compartment under the table. There was a screwdriver, which opened that grate. Beside the screwdriver was this box. I hung onto it because it seemed important."
She shrugged, looking down at the box. Was that ...
Strangely, her first concern was why it was ticking. It only clicked moments later that that generally implied it was a bomb. "MARCUS DO YOU HAVE A DAGGER IT WOULD BE AGREEABLE, THANK YOU."
Then Leon took off with it. Somehow that annoyed her more. "LEON BRING IT BACK THIS INSTANT THAT'S MINE."

Kat had remained silent the entire time she had entered the room. Quietly listenening to everyone's opinions on the accused. As much as she disliked some of the leaders - well, one leader - she didn't exactly want to discover if any of them were truly corrupt. There had to be a better explanation for it all. So she sat there, carefully thinking over everything she had found out before. Everyone's responses, their behavior and clues that could help solve this mess. Though nothing really came to mind. Kat was not exactly one who was good at the whole detective act, and she feared anything she added to the trial might severely screw things over, in more way than one. No, it was probably best that she attempt to keep her mouth shut, and listen to what is said here.
The sound of ticking caused her to look up, and straight at whoever was holding the box. Well.. that couldn't be good. She was going to be pretty pissed if that ticking box blew them all up before she made it to the cafeteria for another coffee. Something of which she felt like slipping out of here to go and get. Though, a certain voice in her head snapped. :Don't you even think about it! Keep yourself seated, and educate yourself!: Jeez! Fine! Touchy little s**t.. The one downside to being a hunter.. having a constant headache.. :Oh please, if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't be much of a hunter.: Snorting, Kat had to agree, for at least part of that. True enough, but if it wasn't for me, you'd be nothing but a tablet collecting dust. The response was enough for the couerl to scoff in the back of her mind.
Watching as Mark was called on, she couldn't help but hold back a bemused look. That had to be a joke, right? His weapon was scissors? Really? He must be pulling everyone's leg or something. Or was he? It was hard to tell, since Mark apparently avoided showing off his weapon so easily. Then again, maybe this was the reason why.
Leaning back in her seat, the hunter stretched a little. Trying to keep herself focused, she rubbed at her eyes before leaning forward again to rest her chin on the back of her hands. Man, this was why she glad she had never received jury duty before becoming a hunter. Sitting here, and listening to all the facts was starting to put her to sleep. :Pay attention.: I know, I know.. I'm trying.. I'm not cut out for this kind of stuff. I'd much rather be out in the training field right now. :Well, too bad for you, this is kind of more important than a mere training session.: Tch, you're telling me. But I'd hate to see the outcome of this trial. :How so?: Squinting, she eyed the faces of each accused before shaking her head. Even if we do manage to find the killer, what's going to keep those who were accused for no reason from getting pissed off? :Nothing at all. If they get pissed off, you better start running.: Hey, I'm not the one questioning them. I'm just watching. :Tch, you think that would matter to them?: ..Probably not. But hey; what can I do about it? Most of the hunters are here anyways. :Which means the division leads might need to start recruiting a whole new army soon.: Choking down a small chuckle, Kat folded her hands over one another.
Flipping open her phone, she began sifting through various texts she had received lately, trying to keep herself from spacing out completely while still listening to everything going on around her. Finally, she snapped her phone shut again for the final time, tucking it away in her coat as she propped her chin upon the back of her hand. Glancing over at Ryan, who sat beside her, she watched him for a moment before turning her attention back to the trial.
