Rei showed up at the entrance to the Shoal Cave, still queasy at the arrival by boat. He opens up his TADS, and takes a look at the message.

"Well, they sure like competition. I guess I don't mind if I get something out of it." His Zubat, the Countess, shrieked her glee at another cave exploration adventure.

He climbed up a ledge to get a good sight on the current layabout of the cave. It being low tide, he saw an entrance that led deep into the cave.

He also saw Pokémon that weren't native to the area. A huge shadow lumbered across the icy floor. Rei stared at the figure, and after a while realized that it was a Beartic. He gasped. Perhaps Pokémon from other regions were migrating over to Hoenn? It wasn't unheard of. He shrugged and waited for it to pass.

A few minutes later, the Countess, using her echolocation, signaled that it was all clear to go to the entrance to the next area. Rei quickly crawled through the passage and landed on a thick chunk of ice. The ice was slick, and he fell immediately.

"Oof! Gah, I forgot about this anomaly," grumbled Rei. The Countess suppressed her giggle and started scouting out for Pokémon to snag. Rei called out his Charmander to get a better view of things, and to warm himself up a bit; he was still unused to the cold.

"Scipio, be careful. This place is slick." The Charmander nodded and watched its step. Its tail cast light everywhere due to the reflecting ice; it was stunning, but Rei couldn't focus on the scenery at that particular moment. His Zubat gave her flying signal that she found something.

Keeping his footing, Rei raced over to where the Countess was, his Charmander right behind him. The Countess was busy dodging streams of snow from a large yellow arrowhead. The Snorunt finally landed a blow on the Zubat, and she cried in pain.

Rei wasted no time giving orders. "Quick, Confuse Ray before it hits you again!" The Zubat sent out a ray, and the Snorunt tripped over itself. Not wanting his Zubat to pass out because of his negligence, Rei told his partner to hide in his cloak and commanded the Charmander to take her place.

"Scipio, Flamethrower before it snaps out from confusion!" The Charmander gathered up heat in its mouth and shot a line of flames from its mouth. The Snorunt yelped in pain and tried attacking its adversary once more, this time charging with a headbutt. The slam knocked Scipio to the side, and in retaliation, he shot another Flamethrower at point blank. The Snorunt, unable to take it for much longer, struggled to get back up.

Rei tossed a Pokéball and successfully caught the Snorunt. Satisfied, he recalled his Charmander after patting him on the head. The Countess directed the way out on Rei's shoulder with her wing, and he successfully escaped the cave with a new addition to the team.

Ginji staggered in looking quite disheveled. "Note to self. Don't get lost in the air duct." he sighed before collapsing onto the couch in the common room.

"Sweet. An exciting adventure." Ginji smirked, "The perfect opportunity to observe Aqua in action."

Matthias wandered into the common room, the three of his Pokemon following close behind him. He let out a deep sigh and leaned against the nearest wall he could find, arms crossed.
"I wonder how tonight will go..." He mumbled to himself and his companions.
His red eyes wandered the room and he noticed Kasumi and Ren nearby. He nodded to them in greeting.

Matthias straightened up as Archie entered the room.
"Boss." He greeted.

"What are you all doing introducing yourselves? You have been sitting on your butts for weeks now!" Archie storms to the sub.

"We're going to successfully flood a volcano, that same one Maxie failed to cause to erupt!" Archie then sits in the captains chair of the sub. "All aboard!"

BL perks up at the sound of "All aboard" and starts running to the sub! "Don't forget me boss!"
