Selling cupcakes was slow going, and Avery's naturally friendly personality couldn't resist leaning across her own stand to raise her brows at the pretty young woman to her left, who happened to be supporting the adorable Penelope.
"Hullo," Her accented tone was warm, and she offered Aurora a grin. "I remember you from the debate!"

Aurora didn't really expect to be chatted with by a competitor, especially not the candidate running! But Aurora was a polite sort and felt no reason not to be friendly. It was just a friendly election anyway!

"Avery Hollister," She responded, offering a hand to shake with a laugh for the cute girl. "Though, I guess the introduction is unnecessary." The cupcakes and such proclaimed as much.
"Thank you!" Everyone was so pleasant! Well, almost everyone. "I'm really glad the three of us made it through." To be honest, Avery would be pretty happy if either of her opponents made it through, even if she did want to win.

Aurora took the offered hand, giving a gentle but present shake in return (good old Crystal Academy grooming!) before drawing her hands back to shift her plates on her table.
Just calling for people was getting a little dull. Maybe she could find out a little more about Avery, after all she'd only gleaned some of the basics during her research prior to the debate. "How long have you lived in Destiny City?"
"I moved here from Alaska my sophmore year of highschool." She offered the information in return, trying not to sound like a total creeper.

If Aurora had admitted a concern about being a creep, Avery would have told her it was pretty hard to do, when you were so cute. In an entirely friendly, not making-a-move-on-the-cupcake-girl-next-door sort of way.
"I've actually only been here for the school year," The brunette lifted one shoulder with a smile, "My brother has been between here and New York for some time, and thought it'd be good for me to take a break from life in the UK."
Avery didn't know much about Alaska. "It's cold there, isn't it? In Alaska?"

"Yeah it's pretty cold" Aurora giggled a little at the question. Not in an attempt to make fun of the girl, no. It was one of those good natured, genuinely amused sort of laughs that met with a large smile. It had been awhile since anyone had actually asked her about home. "It took a little while to get used to when I first moved here. The spring temperature here is pretty much as warm as we ever get up there. Plus a very long winter."
"Sounds like you've done a bit of moving yourself though too." Aurora traded some cupcakes for cash as she spoke, pausing long enough to give the customers a thankful smile. "Do you go to DCU then? I'm going there right now. Education major."

"Education? You must have way more patience than me, to teach. I'll be graduating this semester-" Avery was briefly startled by someone actually at her table to buy a cupcake, "Oh! Thank you! Have a great day!"
Turning back to Aurora, she finished her thought. "Majoring in Economics and Marketing." Her focus was on small business, though she currently worked in the music industry. "Boring, right?" Avery found it fascinating.

"I love kids" She admitted. Really loved them. Like planned on having a litter of the little things running around eventually. You know.. after the war. Not that she could really say that. "I've done a little bit of teachers aid work at the Elementary school which is tons of fun."
Another set of customers came and Aurora turned, handing them their choice of flavors and thanking them before turning back to Avery.
"I don't think I'd do very good with that major myself. Math isn't really my forte. But everyone loves different things."
"Do you have big plans for what you're going to do when you 'grow up'?" She offered, the closest thing she had to a tease. Sometimes it was hard to think of herself as being an adult when she still went to school and remained without a job.

Avery was terrible at selling cupcakes.
It probably had a lot to do with the fact that her chin was propped on her fist, and she was giving Aurora her undivided attention, bright hazel eyes flicking over the girl's features in a perfect example of 'active listening'.
"Me too," Loved children, that was. Wanted a pack of them. Aurora continued, and Avery laughed, easily receptive to a tease. "Well." She pursed her lips, thinking about it. "I'm not sure." Her smile widened. "Tell people what to do. I really enjoy that. Knowing my numbers and what people want should help, though. I work with my brother, right now, and it's fun, but it's my father's dream, not mine, and my mother isn't very happy about it."
No, Tamrin Hollister was not pleased about her only daughter being in the industry.

"I can relate to that." She mused a little at Avery's comment about telling other people what to do. It wasn't really the best trait in the world to have all the time. It often got Aurora labeled as bossy or a busy body. But it was in her nature to mother and nag. But she could definatly relate. "Other people have good ideas and thoughts, certainly. But sometimes it takes someone to step up and actually get things done."
"You've got a whole lifetime to decide though." She nodded encouragingly.
"Your clothing is really very cute by the way." Aurora admired the other woman's well groomed appearance for a moment. Since moving in with Azzo her allowance for clothing and nice things had been.. pretty well cut. So while she always looked presentable Aurora hadn't been shopping for any new clothing in a few months.

"If you want it done right, you've got to do it yourself." The brunette winked, and then easily accepted the compliment.
"Thank you!" Avery certainly did put a lot of time in her appearance, and was what some called a power/hard femme. It was nice to have it appreciated, and she grinned at Aurora. "I have to admit that I love 'playing' dress up."
A whole crowd of new possible buyers came, and the girl said a quick goodbye to her new acquaintance, so that the two of them could concentrate on keeping track of sales.
