Nae grinned back at Huel before lightly nudging D'von. "No she won't. Especially if you tell her that you beat the crap out of Ruin. As for me... either she'll kill me or ignore me... I'm not sure which at this point." She chuckled.

D'von rolled his eyes. "She's not going to kill you. I've worked too hard to keep you alive to let her kill you." Still, he smiled as he said it, nuzzling his muzzle against her neck. "Just don't let this stress you out too much." He heard that could have an effect on children in the womb, and those kids would have enough problems from their genetics--though whose genetics were mixed with Nae's was up to debate.

Nae smiled and leaned into the nuzzle. "I know you will, and I won't. I love my family. My mom can just be a little headstrong at times." She chuckled. "Let's stay here for the night and go further into the territory in teh morning."

D'von's expression softened at her reassurance. "Alright." That was fine with him. He couldn't help being nervous about meeting Nae's parents, so the extra night to prepare was a bit relieving. "Hey. You never told me what your dad's like."

Nae tilted her head. "He is sweet and caring, and very protective over his family. I get my bone markings from him." She said as she lay down, her neck stretching out towards him so if he layed in the same position, they're noses would be nearly touching.

D'von laid down beside her, lightly touching his nose to hers. He looked up at the sky, watching the clouds float across the sky. It was another oddity he wasn't used to; the desert had very little rain, after all. "I guess that's understandable." He had nothing to compare it to, after all. His father didn't know he was one until recently. He was quiet for a while before speaking up again. "We're going to be parents soon... aren't we?"

Nae was quiet for a moment before she gave a slow nod. "Yes... I believe so... Realistically its too soon to tell but I can feel it...
She buried her head in his shoulder, just below his spikes.

D'von lightly rested his head atop hers. "I'm sure you'll be fine, sweet pea. You've got great parents as a model, right? You'll be a great mother." Him, on the other hand... he wasn't so sure. How could he be something he'd never had the privilege of having, of observing? He didn't know how to be a father... his father didn't even know how to be a father! What if he turned out to be an even worse parent than his mother or Sharsa?

D'von sighed. "I hope so. I... don't want our kids to have a home life like mine." He nuzzled his mate, unable to keep from feeling nervous. "I don't know what fathers are supposed to do."

Nae tilted her head, not exactly knowing what Dvon meant by 'like his'. However, she decided not to question it. "Just do what comes natural." She said softly as she cuddled next to her mate. Nae was inexplicably happy, more so than she had been when she found Michiko, and she didn't want this to ever end.

D'von relaxed as his worries were so easily swept aside. "Sounds like a plan," he replied, his muzzle lightly burrowing into her mane. He felt surprisingly... relaxed here. No missions to fulfill, no reckless impulses to suppress... His mind was at ease.

Nae woke up the next morning, feeling warm next to the body of her mate, even his spikes had left little marks on her pelt that felt warm and.. oddly comforting. She stretched before standing up and lightly nipping at his neck to see if he was awake. They needed to move on to catch her dad if they were to make it in time to see him.

D'von stirred when Nae got up, blearily looking up at her when he was nipped. His half-asleep brain wasn't registering why they were moving, but he did so anyway; if Arachnae was going somewhere, so was he.

Jaromir had woken his daughter up early to have her go on patrol with him. He knew her spirit was still broken as it had been awhile since Bruin and Nascien had left home. Having all four of her kids somewhere in the south was really hard on the mare and she had withdrawn into herself. Jaro had to do what he could to get his daughter to be active and not completely fade away. "Jara, dear, lets get a move on." He said as he nudged his daughter.
Jara shook herself awake and followed her father. They weren't going to run, their patrols were more of walks. "Father, what am I supposed to do? Bruin and Nascien have been gone quite some time with no word of them. They shouldn't have gone...I...I don't think there's any hope of getting my children back Daddy...they've been gone too long..." Tears made streaks down her face as she accepted that she wouldn't see her daughter and son again. She just hoped that Bruin and Nascien would make it back
