Shifting her gaze downward as Shun rested his head in her lap Mitsu did what she could to make sure her hair was mostly dry before she gave her attention to her reaper. Her fingers came up to brush through his hair, pulling it away from his face. "What were you thinking about?" Mitsu asked in a whisper.

Where to go or what to do was far from her mind. She wasn't really in the mood to make decisions nor did she really feel she had the power to do so.

"I was thinking of staying in until we have to for now," he murmured quietly. There was always the chance that they would run into something that would rile them up if they went out. That wasn't something he wanted to really happen before this up coming meeting.

Shun closed his eye halfway as he relaxed himself where he was. At least he felt comfortable here, though that didn't really stop the weight he felt in the meantime. That was something that was likely to stay until this was through.

"No matter what happens up ahead... I love you. Nothing will ever change that," he said quietly, "And I haven't forgotten about my promises. Any of them."

Nor was he planning on doing so.

"If that's what you want." Mitsu sad quietly in return.

Her fingers continued to brush through his hair, considering his words as he spoke. "And I love you. I just want what's best for you." Even if that meant giving up what she wanted.

There was something soothing about the way she was brushing through his hair. Shun let out a heavy sigh and nodded to her words. It was hard to say what was truly best for him when they couldn't really foresee what was to come. Not to mention that he was still worried about her as well.

For awhile he remained there with her, relaxing as much as he could. But at one point, it was time to get moving. Reluctantly, he pushed himself up from her lap and gazed into her crimson eyes with his one dark one. Then, silently, he got up completely.

"It's time," he whispered before he began to make his way to the elevator, pausing just for the moment to see if she was following.

Mitsu had been content to sit on the couch and brush through Shun's hair. It gave her a moment to pretend they were back at their dorm just relaxing for the day without school or anything else to worry about. That illusion was shattered the moment Shun began to move, looking her in the eye briefly before he stood to his feet.

She was hesitant to follow but still stood to her feet as he headed toward the elevator. The lycan wasn't sure if she should attend, especially considering how the last meeting had gone but as soon as Shun turned to see if she was following she finally made up her mind and hustled over to the elevator to stand beside him.

The trip to the office was short, seeing how it wasn't too far away. However, before walking through the door, Shun paused as he heard some angry words coming from the other side. Some Japanese could be heard, but it seemed to be mostly in English. He didn't go through the door just yet as he was trying to listen in on what was happening. It sounded as though Shiro and Kaitou were having somewhat of a dispute.

"Don't you think I know how to deal with my own son? What has gotten into you?" he heard Kaitou speak sharply in English.

"It isn't I who has changed. I refuse to go through this should he decline your offer. It is his choice to make and I won't help you strong arm him into this should he decide it isn't what he wants!"

"Kono yarou..."

Shun decided it was time to step through, pushing the door open to walk in. The first thing he saw upon entering was his Father with both of his hook blades out and lashing out at Shiro. There was a spray of blood but then the other reaper dissipated on the spot. Kaitou soon realized that the door had opened and thus, dismissed his weapons and gave a rather pleasant smile to the two.

"Ah. It's time isn't it, my son?"

Mitsu's ears had picked up on the dispute long before they reached the door but she followed Shun until they were close, her eyes focused on the barrier between them and Kaitou's office. From the sounds of it the man that had taken them out to dinner the day before was arguing with Shun's father.

She only heard the tail end of the dispute before Shun pushed through the door just in time to see his father cut Shiro down rather violently with his weapons. Mitsu didn't know how to react at first, her eyes trailing to where Shiro had once stood, to the weapons that Kaitou had before he de-summoned them, to finally the man himself. Her crimson eyes were wide with terror staring at the pleasant smile he offered them both like nothing had just occurred.

"H...he's like them..." Mitsu took a step back and away from the door, her eyes locked on the older reaper as her expression became more panicked and feral.

Shun glanced to Mitsu, hearing her speak, and seeing her looking panicked. Gritting his teeth, he turned back towards his father, staring hard at the man.

"Why did you just cut down Shiro? Isn't he your right hand?" he asked sharply.

"These things happen. The old man had become a fool. He'll be back soon anyway. Hopefully I've knocked some sense into him," the older Reaper shrugged.

"Is that how you carry about now?"

"Is there a problem? The rest are all disposable. If they can't carry out things as I see, there's no use for them. If he doesn't change his mind, then more drastic things will need to be taken. Simple as that," Kaitou said dismissively, "But we aren't here to discuss how I run things."

"You're wrong. They aren't."

And here Mitsu was supposed to be the monster but Kaitou took over the role to a whole new light. Though now a days monster came in the form of a different name to the lycan. Something that resonated with her a little more. "...Hunter.."

He was nothing but ruthless and uncaring. Just like the men who had her strapped to a table ready to cut her to pieces. Her only value had been scraps and that was all Kaitou saw in his men. Shun really wanted to be apart of this? Did he really want to be like a hunter.

"Like them...he's like them." She repeated, backing up until she was against the wall in the hallway. There was no way she was going to step into that office.

Hearing Mitsu again, Shun cast a glance back, seeing her inching further away. Hunter? Oh, she was saying that the man was like a Hunter. With a grimace, he was about to approach her, but he soon heard his father speaking once more.

"I said we are not here to dispute how things are run. "

The younger Kuroda furrowed his brow, caught at a sort of crossroads here. With her having made that sort of mental connection, keeping her in this sort of life was going to be painful. He truly felt that he had no place outside of it personally..

"I want nothing to do with this," he muttered, "I can care less how you run things."

"What?"

Still out in the hall Mitsu could hear the conversation, her ears turning forward as Shun began to speak. There was a light of confusion in her gaze because what came out of his mouth was far from what she expected to hear. Was it just a play on words or did Shun really mean that?

There was a small glimmer of hope, some sort of proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. A chance at a normal life without the fear of all of this but then...

Her mind drifted to Shiro, the man she had just watched Kaitou kill. The poor old man just wanted things to change for the better but obviously had Shun's better interests in mind. He didn't want to force him into this life if he didn't want it. Mitsu didn't know him that well but she felt sorry for him that this was the amount of respected he had gained. A simple verbal disagreement had somehow warranted his death.

Would...Shun really be able to fix all of this?

"S..Shun." Her voice was barely a whisper, she had trouble speaking in her fright and even as she tried to get his attention she felt that hope of a normal life slipping away. Instead of saying anything else she rose her hands and signed two simple words. 'Fix it.'
PostPosted: Tue Mar 12, 2013 5:42 pm

When Shun originally spoke, he meant it literally. It wasn't easy to say it, considering how he felt about things, but he was trying to look out for Mitsu. Again, he felt bad that she had to get involved with someone like him. Things would be simpler if she had found...well.. someone normal.

But that wasn't the case.

Meeting his father's gaze, he didn't reply right away as he heard Mitsu once more. Casting a glance behind, he saw her sign out two words. Seeing that, he furrowed his brow. Fix it? At first he wasn't sure what she was talking about. What was there to fix? But then, it slowly dawned on him. After all, Shiro had spoke of something about that. Changing things around here.

He looked to her, with a sense of confusion. She... wanted him to fix this? That was his original intention, but his resolve had wavered and shifted.

"I asked you a question, dammit."

Gritting his teeth, Shun looked back towards his father. It was now or never.

"The way things are here is s**t. But I don't really give a damn what you do. Unfortunately, you're right. I'm not suited anywhere else. I'll work for the Family again."

As soon as she signed out the only two words she had to offer, Mitsu simply let her hands fall to her sides. Now it wasn't Shun who had chosen this life...it was her. While she thought he was capable of so much more there was a problem here that needed to be fixed. If they didn't do something it was likely more people would suffer and they would likely be involved one way or another. She didn't like it, not one bit, but their choices were limited. The only thing that mattered to her though was that Shun was willing to choose her over this job..this life he thought suited him. He was willing to give it up to make her happy. Maybe if it became too much in the future they could make a new life, a better one away from all this.

For now her concerns were of Kaitou and how he was going to respond to all this. It was highly unlikely he would take this news with a smile and pat Shun on the back for making the decision he wanted.

Kaitou eyed his son for a moment or so.

"Take care how you word things, boy. But your answer is acceptable enough. It's the smart and only choice for you really," he said in a somewhat mocking tone, "I have nothing for you now. But Akane Nakamura will be opening up a restaurant in Halloween Town. She will act as your contact for any work."

His eyes narrowed as he watched Shun, then waved dismissively.

"For now, get out of my sight. I have a mess to clean up."

Letting out a breath, the younger Kuroda nodded before turning and making his way towards Mitsu, closing the door behind him once he was out of the office. He still was a little confused as to why she had signed to him what she had, but for now he simply embraced her tightly.

"I'm sorry you had to see that.." he whispered.

Mitsu so badly wanted to open her mouth but managed to stay quiet until Shun made his way back out of Kaitou's office and embraced her. She was stiff for a moment, still in a little bit of shock and fear before her arms finally came up to hold him close. Closing her eyes tightly she buried her face deep into Shun's shirt resisting the urge to cry.

"Are you okay?"
