The Gatekeeper had asked of her to go, to collect something to protect them all. The Kingdom was hers to be in, did she belong there? Temes wasn't sure of her feelings or memories but - but - she was going to try anyway and at least make the Gatekeeper proud. He'd given her a key and told her she could go far. Someone had been kind and tied the key to her wrist. There was still so much she could go, there was no need for Temes to give up, and the little one found herself at the entrance to the grounds.
Upon entering she...noticed there was something strange going on? Events perhaps, or something to hold her back with fear? Either way she needed to press on, this was all for her kingdom. Temes would not let him down, she would find a way to repay his kindness.
Of course that meant actually entering into the tower and looking around, and Temes carefully took a few steps to enter the floor. She was nervous and worried, like something was wrong and it would be her fault, but at the very least she managed to find some miasma to take back. Would...would he be proud of her then?
If she...made it to the top would he....praise her more? She only wanted to hear his voice, he could be saying anything at all, and so she set forward. Unsure of what to do, unsure of how to do, Temes swore to herself to do her best.

The higher the Shadow ascended, the more unstable and dangerous things became. One wrong step was enough to make the entire structure shudder, and the Dread Cleric hissed with pain as rocks showered down on her head and shoulders.
Ow.
Infinity is less than one. Her eyes flared with suppressed temper, and another bit of miasma was scooped up before Nevena trudged forward. She would not allow this to best her. She would not fail her King.

Entering the high tower, Millie ascended the crumbling staircase, narrowly dodging a chunk of falling rock that would have hit her head. It did end up grazing her shoulder though, and Millie ran towards a sturdy looking column that might protect her from the debris.
Huddling near the column, she noticed a glimmer of light in a small crack in the floor. Picking away at the crack with her hands, she managed to find a small rusty key. It looked different than the one she was given, but she put it in the same small wait pouch with the other key.
A few more steps and she had ascended two floors. Millie noticed a small etching in one of the steps to the next staircase. "One is less than five." "Yes, of course it is" she scolded the staircase. What a silly riddle.
The stairs were shaky and Millie lost her footing a few times, but she reached the top of floor 5 successfully. Dare she go further?

Her movement up the steps from the first floor to the second was slow and painful, from the third to the fourth just as bad, and by the time she'd reached the fifth floor Temes was practically wheezing. Her joints were screaming at her in protest and she stumbled against a wall.
On the first floor something had fallen and struck her lightly, leaving damage against such thing skin, but she had moved along.
On the second and third floor nothing had happened, though the fourth floor had her injured once more by an object from above.
The fifth floor....left her wobbling as she walked though there was something there to catch her eye. At the corner, an object, something dear and precious to her.
Miasma, for the Kingdom. She took it as best she could and looked upward, ready to continue onward.
What more would lie above? She....she would find a way to hear the praise.

Venturing onward, Levi had to rely on the notion that Damien, the gardener, would be able to handle himself. They were here on a task and it was just as fleeting to think he was in danger as if he were excelling. She moved up the staircase.
Five is less than infinity laid over another step. Was this the King leaving messages o those he knew would venture to find whatever was locked away for his eyes only? How curious a thing it was. Truly, the King must have been a wise and thoughtful one if he'd gone through such lengths to protect his secrets. It also made them that more valuable in her eyes. This was something he'd felt needed all that protection.

Dakota narrowed his eyes as he entered the portal into the silver kingdom, looking at its remains sadly and realizing should they not fulfill there duties then their kingdom would end up just the same.
He looked at the labyrinth and buckled down. He was the rook, time to prove his worth!

The floors, they all said something. The previous one had a clue about one being less than five.
These floors, she noticed a fact between dodging debris that struck her anyway, seemed to say that five was less than infinity.
Nothing made sense to her, it was all so confusing, and Temes leaned against a wall for a moment as worry and paranoia started to seep over her heart. She;'d found another vial of miasma for the Kingdom but...would it be enough?
She was getting tired, she was getting worried, and there were people alla round her. What...what should she do? It was frightening, very very frightening, and she ....just covered her face with her hands as she hid.
Maybe everything would go away. . . .

The tower was creating an unsettling paranoia in the back of his mind, not helped at all by the lack of peripheral thanks to his helmet. Why he didn't choose a more open visor, he would never truly understand - maybe because they offered less protection? Maybe it was because they didn't look as cool.
Either way, the lack of peripheral coupled with the paranoia didn't help at all when Julian called out to him, and got behind him. The harpy looked like a strange shadow, and Lex was quick to lash out with a fist.
Realizing he was one of theirs, he fumbled for an apology that would never come. The Harpy pushed the Paladin out of shock, and sent him slipping downward towards the bottom.
He wouldn't hit the bottom, though. A portal opened up, and he felt as though a hand was grabbing him by the belt and tossing hi upward, straight to the eleventh floor.
"...That was...unexpected."

The tower seemed much more unstable the further she went. She had a small amount of Miasma already. Dare she go back?
The mortar... or whatever the floor was made from crumbled with each step that she took. Surely one more floor wouldn't hurt?
Dodging a sudden avalanche of debris, running back sounded appealing the further up the stairs she went. "Five is less than infinity." Said a stair on the 8th level.
Millie ignored the strange etching. Whoever wrote these carvings must be pretty stupid to have to remind themselves of basic elements of math.

This place was ********. The fact most things were still intact only made it worse, it looked like people had just vanished. Upped and gone, leaving a shell behind. It gave him nightmare visions of a Vegas with no lights, dark forever with no blue neon eyes ever to light the way again.
He needed miasma.
If he found out what the ******** happened here in the process, so much the better.

Gargantuan never liked traveling through portals. Made his insides feel like they were gonna up and twist themselves around like hula-hoops. He was shaking a little even as he took a few steps, dark eyes darting around the interior.
Christ... What the hell had happened here? This was really the Silver Kingdom?
How could this have happened? More importantly--could this happen to his family if they weren't careful?

Taking one last look around the area, West started up the nearest staircase, sliding his foot across the first step to clear some of the debris before he advanced.
"One is less than..." That was, by far, the stupidest riddle he had ever heard. The puzzle-loving nature of the Silver king was legendary, but he couldn't see how what he had just read even qualified. Still, he kept it in his thoughts. Maybe more would be revealed higher in the tower.

"Infinity is less..." Said the 11th stair. Millie couldn't read the rest. This time it was nearly impossible to dodge the debris. In between dodging the debris and tripping over what had fallen, Millie ended up with a large number of cuts and bruises.
Tripping was another matter entirely as she nearly fell headlong down the stairs after slipping on a small rock.
Millie leaned against a wall, catching her breath. What lie ahead that this place was so dangerous?

Lumikki watched in horror as the debris kept falling around her. This wasn't how she wanted to die. Whimpering as she shifted to her natural form completely beatten and bruised she wondered if going forward was an option.
Frowning as she remebered Roch's words she looked around frantically to try and find a way out. Finding a small opening she decided as she looked around she could try one more room.

Looking down the flight of stairs, Lex realized he had been pulled even higher than he was when he fell. Definitely a queer situation. His mind was still swimming with slight paranoia, and out of his limited range of sight he saw yet another shadow.
A bit disoriented, he whirled around with an open hand to deliver a swift open palm thrust.
That landed on the target's rear end - said target being a woman from the Gold Kingdom.
...Oh Gods.
"Lay on Hands?" He grinned nervously, taking his hand off her rump.Be cool...be cool.
