"Puppy, you should really watch what you're--" --and then she got hit by the monster she had been going after.
What a hypocrite Eva was. Looking displeased that she had been caught offguard, Eva twirled her staff around so that the blunt side was pointed upwards, spinning on her heel and driving the crystal up and into the creature's stomach.

The monster lunged one last time, Otto turned on his heel, and in the same movement sent the boomerang hurdling straight through it.

Eva propped a hand up on her hip. "Hey, hey. If you're going to call me by a nickname--" --She cut herself off for a second when the creature smacked her upside the head, and casually returned the gesture before turning back, "At least call me Evie, yeah?"
Which was actually, technically, a nickname of a nickname, but shhh.

The words died on her lips at his next question. For a moment, she stared at him blankly, and then she hurriedly turned away and aimed an attack at their enemy. "N...nothing! Nothing at all! My name is Eva! Just Eva!"

And then something that never happened before happened. Eva gave the monster a finishing blow, and when she turned to face Otto, her face was red. Really red. Looking flustered, she gave the boy a stubborn shake of her head.
"My real name is Eva!"

Otto had never seen this before. he'd never gotten Eva this flustered. It was way too amusing. He just couldn't let up. A devious expression formed across his features, followed by a rare, devilish grin.
"You're lyin', gurl. Now I won't rest til I find out what it is. And oooh.. I will find out."

It was clear that Eva was trying to keep her expression as impassive as possible. She was actually doing a pretty good job at it, but the blush that had risen in her cheeks was a telltale sign that the question had definitely embarrassed her in some way.
Almost instinctively, she tried to distance herself from the boy, as if that would somehow make him drop the topic. However, she forgot that there was a tall cliff right there--the one they were supposed to scale--and she ended up backing right into it.
...Nowhere to run.
"T-there's nothing to find out," She insisted, gaze darting around as she tried to find either a way to escape or a way to distract Otto.

Otto calmly approached the trapped Eva, leaning in and flicking her nose. "Okay, here's the deal. We race to the top of the cliff. If you win, I'll drop the subject. I won't even look it up. Hell, I'll even tell you anything you want me to. One free pass. But.." He smirked again, and turned away from her, now beginning to climb.
"If I win? You tell me your full name. No ifs ands or buts."
And then he climbed like the little monkey he was.

Okay, now that was not a fair bet. Otto knew how she felt about heights and this cliff! Before she could protest, the blond was already scurrying up like mad.

Okay no, there was no way she could match that. Sticking out her bottom lip, she pouted as she tried to slowly and leisurely make her way up, but not before yelling, "That totally wasn't fair!" up to the blond.

Eva was too pouty to even worry about the fact that she was climbing up a tall cliff again. To be honest though, if getting up there meant that she had to tell Otto her name...
...It was too late to jump down though. Darn it.
