"How do you know that?" Cassandra asked as she gave a small wave of her hand and a blanket appeared around Merrick. She had given no indication that seeing him nude had bothered her, but then again she was good at schooling her emotions. "You will have to work on controlling that shifting thing. It isn't exactly--gentlemanly reverting back to human form in front of young ladies and being completely nude." Her lips twitched a little as she tried not to smile.
Constance had stared at Merrick for a moment before blushing and turning away. She had never seen a man nude before and it was definitely...different. She didn't know how else to describe it. She clasped her hands together, keeping her eyes downcast.

Alicia blinked, seeing her aunt fighting back the urge to laugh. She could tell when someone was hiding their true emotions, though even she couldn't explain how she did it. Merrick tilted his head, his slitted pupils obvious as he cocked his head slightly. "Images just flared in my mind, images of people in either black cloaks or dark red ones speaking to a 'Karanya' and I heard a woman's reply.... a voice I recognized immediately since I haven't heard it in nearly fifteen years," he said as he shifted the blanket to cover himself. He glanced down at his marked hand and noticed a thin solid ring on the outside of the script that had appeared a little less than two weeks before. He blinked when Constance blushed and turned away, not sure why she seemed so flustered. "I actually didn't expect this... well, any more than anyone else did," he said wryly, glancing at the table where a handprint was scorched into the wood of the table. The covering was scorched for a good inch and a half around the handprint. Lorcán tilted his head. "That explains why you brought a few extra sets of clothing," he said quietly, realizing that Merrick may have suspected something like this would happen instinctively.

Cassandra looked over at Lorcan for a second before turning back to Merrick. "There are some rooms upstairs if you would like to go get dressed. We will still be here," she said as she motioned to the food that sat on the table. "Come girls, eat please." She waved her hand and chairs moved so they could all sit.
"All is clear for now," Merida said as she joined them. When she saw Merrick she raised an eyebrow slightly, but didn't say anything. She looked over to where Cassandra moved down the table and walked over to Lorcan's side. "I do think I saw her giving you the look." Merida said softly. Now that wasn't entirely true, but hey she could stretch the truth a little. Not too long ago she and Cassandra had been drinking together, and for once Cassandra had a little too much. She had admitted to a crush on Lorcan. She wanted to see how the two would work out together. Merida actually thought they would be perfect for each other, but what did she really know about relationships?

Alicia giggled, seeing Merida trying to play matchmaker as she moved towards the table. A low gurgling was the only sign she was hungry. She was one of those girls that could eat ridiculous amounts of food and rarely gain weight. Merrick nodded before he half turned, walking quickly towards the stairs. Kami, I can't beleive that happened, he thought wryly. He found his gear in the second room on the right and within a matter of minutes, had changed. He now wore a deep tan vest over a light gray tee shirt with cowboy boots and jeans. He smirked slightly as he went back down the stairs and headed back towards the dining room. Lorcán cocked an eyebrow as he looked at Merida. "Hmmm...really? I didn't notice," he said offhandedly. He knew it made him seem oblivious, though he'd noticed the look Cassandra had shot his way out of the corner of his eye. He also knew that Merida would realize he was teasing her since he knew she knew he was nowhere near as oblivious as he sometimes seemed.

Constance's face broke out into a smile when she saw the food. It was a great spread. She wondered he had gone through all the trouble to make all of this.
"Me," Cassandra said as she appeared by Constance's side. She chuckled when the girl jumped. "One of my pass times. I like to cook when I need to think." She sat down next to the young woman. "Listen," she said softly, "I don't want you to think any differently of yourself. Your father loved your mother deeply and she him. She is a wonderful woman." Cassandra's hand rested on the girl's arm. "Later, if you want, I can share the memories that were shared with me, with you."
Constance's eyes shimmered with gratitude. "I would like that a lot."
Merida rolled her eyes at Lorcan. "I am sure you didn't." She grinned at him. "I still say you two would make a darling couple!" She laughed and moved away from him to get some food.

Alede OOC - The first link is what he's actually playing, while the other is the full album; since it came out on August 12, 2012... thought it might interest you as a Christmas present (considering it's already on my list... lol Alicia smiled slightly. "I see the cookies I sent arrived in time," she said, fairly sure it would surprise her aunt that she'd had something added since she knew that there were a very select few who had worked on this particular spread, including a mutual friend of theirs by the name of Anya Carmichael. She tensed for a second as she nearly dropped her plate before she caught it, not realizing her head whipped around to spot Merrick. Lorcán shrugged. "Probably," he said with amusement. He blinked as he heard something from the entrance of the room and turned his head, somewhat surprised to see Merrick; it had been only a few minutes since his little... surprise. What surprised him more was what was in Merrick's hands. Merrick let his fingers dance over the strings as he walked into the room. He saw Alicia tense slightly before she spun, a plate in her hands as her gaze found him; Lorcan on the other hand, looked very surprised, his hand frozen as he was reaching for a plate.

Kaosujin Ryu I will listen to them later..sorry been posting from my phone..work has been a killer today...lol and Merida is pushy! Cassandra looked at Alicia with a smile. "That was very kind of you to send them," she said. She was happy that her niece was here and that she was okay. She looked up when she heard the music. She watched the young man silently. Constance looked up and smiled slightly. Anytime Merrick did anything like this it seemed to make her smile. Maybe it was just the fact that he had been through a lot like her. She felt connected to him. "Very nice," Merida muttered as she stood by Lorcan again. She had a plate full of food as she began to eat. She looked at her second in command from the corner of her eye. "A very nice sound," A voice said from behind Merrick. At that moment a large, beautiful cat came around him, purring. Amelia easily moved around despite her blurry eyes. "Well looks like most of us are here. We are just waiting on Carolyn?" She just shrugged as someone else stepped into the room carrying a large crate. "Lorcan, I believe these may be useful to you."

Alede OOC - I understand, on both counts. Alicia smiled slightly, tilting her head thoughtfully. She noticed Constance looking at Merrick. "Is it just me, or does Constance seem to have a little crush on him? I know I mentioned it to her when he first arrived at the manor, but she turned a deep shade of crimson as if she were embarrassed at being caught," she said quietly to her aunt, giggling slightly. Lorcán smiled slightly. "That will definitely help, Amelia," he said as he shifted, slipping around Cassandra. He also slipped a couple of little items into her pocket without her realizing it to surprise her later. Merrick blinked at Amelia's smooth voice as he unconsciously moved a couple of paces to the side. He walked towards the table of food himself, holding the guitar in one hand. "That's a beautiful cat," he said quietly.

Cassandra followed Alicia's gaze and smiled, giving a little nod of her head. She was busy studying and enjoying talking to her niece that she didn't feel when Lorcan dropped something into her pocket. "It does seem that way, doesn't it?" She smiled and chuckled softly. "But I have a feeling she is the kind who want say anything." Cassandra looked over at Merida and smirked when she hear the other woman's thought of "you are the same way."
Amelia's gaze and the cat's turned to Merrick. "She says thank you," Amelia said with a smile as she took a seat. "Nala here is my eyes."

Alicia nodded. "Some people are just shy like that," she said with amusement. Lorcán listened carefully to the conversations, but blinked when he heard a couple of slightly muffled barks. He half turned and blinked, seeing a small grayish white vixen pawing at one of the windows; he was surprised that its eyes were a deep oceanic blue. He walked towards the window, somewhat surprised when the vixen looked straight at him but didn't show any fear before its gaze shifted back towards Merrick. Merrick nodded. He knew that feeling. "Before I left the monastery... a couple of months before, I had a little accident that left me basically blind for a little less than three and a half weeks; I found I was able to blend my senses with that of a young vixen I'd saved from the accident, allowing me some sense of sight," he said quietly; for him it was an embarrassing accident, since he could have easily avoided it. He blinked, catching the clear sound of soft barking with his keen hearing.

"Yes, some people are," Cassandra said as she glanced over at Lorcan and then back to her niece. "So, how was your time at Merida's?" She didn't really know what to talk about with her niece. This was the first time they had met in person.
"I have been like this since birth," Amelia said with a small shrug. Her head turned as Nala made her way to a window and peered out. Nala's nose twitch and she scratched at the window. "Perhaps, is that your vixen you speak of?" She smiled and motioned towards the window.

Alicia smiled faintly. "It was interesting; for their reputation, they have a lot of books on a range of subjects, and they seem fairly nice... though it was interesting after a few days, since a couple of the girls... Japanese twins, well, they have precognition, but they can't control it at will," she said wryly. "They did see something interesting, though... their words were 'a winged fox that shone like fire against a rising darkness'," she said quietly. She didn't know what it meant, but she had a feeling that the 'winged fox' meant something else. Lorcán tilted his head with a half smile at Cassandra before he tilted his head as the window creaked open. He was surprised to see the vixen had managed to open the swinging window with a paw and jumped inside the room, not seeming bothered by the humans at all. Intriguing, he thought. Merrick blinked as his gaze shifted when the window opened as the vixen jumped into the room. "Huh... I released her probably ten miles north of Thornhill, Scotland... a good two hundred and forty miles from here," he said with surprise as the vixen trotted towards him, but paused to rub against Nala in greeting before she walked closer to them. Her fur was a deep grayish silver while her eyes were a brilliant blue, similar to aquamarine gemstones. "Haname," he murmured.

Cassandra nodded as she listened to Alicia speak. "Talk is not always correct," she said with a smile. "They may seem brash at times, but members of the dark coven are very knowledable and gifted. Their quickness to want to act is just one of the many things that sets them apart. All people have their own quirks. That's why it is not always a good idea to judge people by what you hear." Cassandra smiled at Alicia. "But you and I know that already. We both have friends within that coven."
Amelia smiled as Nala came back over to her. She ran her hands lightly through her fine fur. "Once you bond with an animal that bond stays forever. They become your familiar. It doesn't matter how far you go, your familiar will find you."
Merida just smiled as she sat back and watched everyone. Cassandra was shooting looks at Lorcan and Lorcan had slipped something into Cassandra's pocket without her noticing. She wondered what it was.

Alicia laughed. "Absolutely. Those twins.... Iris and Caroline... have an eerie talent; it's like they can hear someone speaking about them, even from a long distance, since I saw them outside minutes before... well, you saw what happened with Merrick," she said wryly. Lorcán tilted his head with a faint smile towards Cassandra. That data that Amelia compiled should help with finding out the origins of that marking... as traditionally Kitsune are Japanese spirits, it means possibly one or both parents are Japanese. However, from his accent and from what he has said of his past, I suspect he is Scottish-Japanese, he thought. Merrick tilted his head thoughtfully. Haname pushed off the ground with a low growl, landing on his shoulder with her forepaws before she twisted, her tail swatting Merrick across the face with a sound similar to a firecracker going off. He stumbled slightly to the side, somewhat surprised as she settled on his shoulder as if nothing had happened at all. "Did she just b***h-slap me?" he muttered under his breath; he realized that there was much more to this little vixen than met the eye. In the moment the little vixen had leaped up off the floor, her eyes had met his and he had the strong sense that she was annoyed at him for leaving her behind.

"A great ability to have," Cassandra said slowly with a nod. "Saves people from having to find them," she chuckled softly. She sighed and rubbed her eyes. "I wish Carolyn would get here soon so we can start. We need to figure out what is going on."
Merida scooted over to a spot next to Lorcan. "So...what did you slip into dear Cassandra's pocket?" she murmured softly.
Amelia chuckled at how the vixen hit Merrick in the face with her tail. "Familiars can get very testy when they are left behind." She folded her hands together on the table.
Just then the doors opened and another woman stepped in and looked around. "Well, looks like everyone beat me here." Her voice was as smooth as silk. She walked to the table and sat down, plenty for away from Merida and Lorcan. "Sorry I am late."
