"I'm fine. I'm fine. My head is just pounding." The island was starting to get testy with them he felt. For now, time to recover and let the security die down probably was best.
"I gotta, I need a break. Whatever that light was just..." He felt weak. Minipet or not, he was going to find a safe, clean place and crash. Luckily he was keeping his door to his dorm unlocked but he doubted he make it there. For now he would call a retreat. Jerry would just have to wait another day to see his muse. The Life trainee was exhausted.

Melvin was also intent to bring back something from the island to help his cause to be taken notice as a contributing Life tech. If Jerry was willing to blast the way, it was in Mel ins interest to take the opportunity when he had it. It was remarkable Jerry still wanted to try.
After resting and regrouping, they returned to the portals. "As ready as I'm going to be. Lets do this."
They returned to the island with little searching and were once again introduces to island security.

This time they were greeted by a shadowy shriek above the treetops as a massive, black, shifting bird-like shape swooped overhead.
"I guess we know the drill by now, huh?" Jerry grinned.

"Yeah. You shoot and I make a fool if myself. Good luck. This I e seems fast." It was one that flew as dived unlike the others who ran or jumped. Melvin decided as long as he was in the open for the thing to see, he could get its attention.
He walked out into the clearing and waved so it could see him.

It was very hard to be distracting with a bird who couldn't always see you. From overhead, any shouts were not head and wild movements list. For now, he just tried his best.
