Ora's words comforted Hari, and she had to admit that she completely agreed; even if it was only for a short while, her friends were happy because she and the other lionesses had taken a stand, and that was definitely worth the trouble it would cause. Purring softly, she caught sight of Kayin approaching and watched the young lion as he tottered closer. As he practically fell down between her and Ora and unleashed a beast of a yawn, she almost felt like she was catching his exhaustion! Stifling a yawn, Hari only just heard Kayin's muttering, and the innocence and sheer cuteness of his statement renewed her purring.
Reaching down to lick him affectionately between the ears, she whispered, "Rest for a while, little warrior. We'll wake you when things get going again." Raising her head, she exchanged glances full of amusement and fondness with Ora, then turned her attention to Nguvu and his sisters to watch the happy reunion.
(Aw, that sucks Moon! I'm gonna miss RPing with Ora and Kayin, Kayin especially! <3)

Xatu had decided to migrate with the others this year. It would make it easier for him to find them again, and then there was that vulture problem... Xefo would probably not want to leave his lady just yet. It did feel a bit weird, because it was his first migration as an Enda. Last time he migrated he had been one of the luzisi, with a growing mane that he knew would soon force him to leave. It hadn't played out like that after all, but that was what he had believed at the time.
This time he was someone else, and while he was allowed to be there he hadn't quite found his place yet. For all intents and purposes he wasn't male when he was with his pride, and he didn't know how he was supposed to act during this time. He mostly kept to the edges of the group, since it made more sense to make sure the females and cubs were in the centre and out of harm's way.
He had arrived to the main group just before Surtak, but he hadn't added to the conversation. If push came to shove he would have helped chase off the intruder, but he was glad it hadn't come to that. The situation with Nguvu was upsetting on many levels. On one paw, he knew that it wasn't fun to have to leave home and family behind, but on the other paw... He had found a way to stay, and he had paid the price. If Xatu could do it, so could Nguvu. The lion teeth hanging on his vulture's necklace was a token of the pain and sacrifice.
Some of the females seemed to think that he should be allowed to just saunter back in, and that didn't sound right at all. But Xefo knew his place, and he wasn't about to start bickering with the females."Never a boring moment," the large grey vulture commented dryly. He didn't waste a moment after taking in the scene at the watering hole. He took wing and soon landed heavily on the crocodile Ukulambile had been sampling. The vulture had seen Xatu's half siblings grow and was fairly confident that this one wouldn't mind. She was more or less family so she could share. "This is how you do it," he said and started tearing at the crocodile tail with his sharp beak. The juvenile had actually managed to make some progress on the tough skin, and with that as a starting point Xefo could free up more meat for the two of them. --- Buna was happy to see Surtak, but the madness didn't end at that. The small Umholi had proved his worth in her eyes, and it angered her that many of the other Abazingeli still challenged him. She could understand Wodi's teasing, because she knew the Busisa liked to keep Surtak on his toes. But the others? It was rude and wrong for females to try to decide that a male should stay with them. She joined Baie when the orange lioness walked to stand behind Surtak.
"Is everyone going mad this migration," she grumbled to no one in particular and went down to the water, staying far away from both Nguvu and the dead crocodiles.
The situation was resolved for now, at least. She could understand if Hadharani and Nyesui would want to speak to their brother, but any other lioness who decided it would be fun to talk to the rogue male would get the cold shoulder from her. It wasn't right! Not everyone shared her strong opinions about sticking to tradition, but Buna would defend the ways of her pride on her own if she had to.

Nguvu nodded, and turning to his sisters once more he nuzzled them gently. "I did not mean to cross into your path, I did not know you were coming this way, and I have been here for awhile." He knew it may seem to some that he had planned this, that maybe he'd even been following them.. But he hadn't, and the whole thing to him was a pleasant surprise.
He heaved his huge form to rest exactly where Surtak had suggested, a distance away, but he could see still what was going on. He knew it would be a struggle to stay within the pride, even momentarily, but he wanted to prove himself.

Hadharani was unhappy about Surtak's ruling. She knew the rules but she loved her brother and her heart ached to have to send him away again.
When Hari pulled them away she listened to what the lioness had to say but she couldn't help be hurt. She knew in time the pain of her brother leaving would diminish again but it would never completely stop because she would always hurt. She missed him everyday.
"It's just like opening an old wound again. I can't help hurt knowing he'll have to leave again." She told Hari and then she leaned up against Nyesui just looking for comfort in the touch of her twin.

Nyesui watched sadly as Nguvu walked over and sat at a distance as Surtak had told him to. She knew that it would be best for him to do as the Umholi had said, but it hurt to be away from him after being reunited again. She nodded in agreement with Hadharani; it was opening up the old wounds from him leaving the first time. It would be heartbreaking to watch him be forced to leave them once more.
"I know," Nyesui replied, nuzzling her twin's head comfortingly and leaning against her, "I know."

Slowly Ushari made her way towards the twins, the sisters of this Nguvu. She offered them both a smile, "I am happy you have some time to see your brother, even if it is temporary. Loosing family is always hard business." She offered softly. She understood how hard it was to see a loved one go, then come back, only to be told he wold have to go again. On one hand it was nice to see them, but the knowing they would leave again, and the fact you might not ever see them after this... it was hard.

Sauda yawned a bit as the lions continued to talk. Clearly they weren't going to move for quite a while, and she didn't have anything to do. Seeing as the crocodiles from this watering hole were now gone, she could come back later and check it out to see if this would be a better place to quench her thirst.
Lapping up some more water, she silently backed away until she was behind the pride, and wandered off to find shelter. She could keep following them, but it seemed to be more trouble than it was worth. They might even have some kill left over after they left that she could take.
It had been interesting to say the least, but there wasn't much too it. Being in a big group like that and listening to others didn't seem like a way to live one's life. She was much happier being a rogue any day.

“It seems so.” Baie answered her niece with a small mocking smile, brushing against her side again before her tone lowered as she eyed some of Njalo’s Lusizi. “Some never had much sense to begin with.” She eyed Thuli in particular, her eyes narrowing critically. She would try to have a serious talk with that one later, not that they’d ever gotten along particularly well. But someone had to make sure the old traditions were alive and well in the new generation and Baie was certain the young lioness she’d watched grow would at the very least sit down and listen to what she had to say.
“Don’t trouble yourself. You know Gakere will sort everything out when he arrives.” Her eyes were kind as they brushed past Nguvu but she didn’t speak to the lion again. It wasn’t proper for anyone other than his sisters and Surtak to address the muck-covered lion, after all.
------------------------
“Yeah…” Thuli agreed with her sister, mirroring Baie’s stare with a cold glare of her own. That family was so uptight about the old traditions! She had some respect over Buna but that orange one just plainly got on her nerves some times.
Well, all the excitement was over now. All they could do was to wait for Gakere and drink. Quiet boring, actually. Thuli yawned before making her way to the water’s edge.

"Yes," Ulaka answered the frustrated Buna, having heard the grumble from her perch. "They have all gone utterly batshit." She cast an extra glare towards where Nguvu had headed, and then one towards Surtak for not having completely run them off.
Matifa stood, a little bewildered, still where the male had been. She bit her tongue when she heard Hadharani's words, and shook her head.
"If they don't go, they never become strong," Matifa reminded them. "If he stays without proving, he'll never become a true Umholi. It's not our right to deny him that." Still, her own brothers had been cast out before the migration. Machozi had left even before then, to join the Firekin as an ambassador. But, everday, she reminded herself they were growing in strength and would some day have their own band of females to protect.
They would make good Umholi. And, they always had each other.
Matifa accepted that Surtak was doing a good job as an Umholi, though Gakere was right about his concerns that Surtak let the women push him around too often. Still, she supposed it wasn't his job to be perfect.
The male had settled himself a little ways out from the group, between Nuguvu and the rest of the females. His tail constantly flicked and he barely allowed himself a drink, his eyes were so focused on the rogue male. It was clear having another presence there, even for a short time, made him aggravated.

In Character and Out of Character Information Post IC Wrap Up Information The leading Boneland's Umholi has always been, and will always be for the most important traditional views of the pride: survival of the fittest - those that prove themselves may stay regardless of gender or color. Strength knows no boundaries. Upon the arrival of Gakere, Nguvu was given a choice:
Challenge one of the current Umholi for the right to stay, or leave immediately.
Nguvu's challenge was to Sokoro -- a challenge which all interested females had the opportunity to witness. The leopard-spotted male came out victorious, and those present called him Inselelo to quantify the temporariness of his position. He will have to defend his title against other rogues alone to prove he is worthy of such a high seat.
But for now, he may relax, reunite with his family, and watch over the cub. It may be a few months before all the females accept him - he could not earn his place if they did not test his emotional strength as well - but if he should hold strong, they will also grow to find him a proper Inselelo. Plot Twist! It seems those baboons gave the Boneland's members another nasty surprise. . .A few days after the challenge and the defeat, it was clear the pride had quite another problem to deal with.
Fleas.
After angry accusations were flown about, the source was determined to have originated from one of two sources: Kamal or the baboons.
The list of lions who got fleas was far longer than those who didn't. And those with fleas looked at the carefree lions with a sense of haughty jealously. Unless your lion is listed below, they are assumed to have contracted fleas.
Gakere Su Ukulambile Sauda (hyena, I know) Baie Xatu & Xefo Surtak
ICly, this will last for a few months before it passes. Frequenting soaks in water sources will aid the healing process of bites, however, not everyone wants you trying to soak your flea-dirty body in their drinking source. OOC Information If you've received a Boneland's character from this event, please submit a joining application! It's really more of a formality than anything else.
It will help us get the owner's list updated and do a quick check of your background info to make sure there's nothing absolutely crazy within it. You are still absolutely free to RP in the pride even without a submitted application.
If you posted in this RP, it counts as a JRP and you may use it for certing purposes. There are plenty of already certed members who posted.

(wrap-up for my girls, congrats Hopefolly and lol, fleas…)
Wow, welcome to the most boring situation EVER. From what had appeared to be a near fight, this outcome had turned out unexpectedly mild. Thuli supposed there was some amusement to be found in watching Surtak lose a few hairs in that worked up state he was placing himself in. Seriously, as if Nguvu could be a threat even if he wanted to. Killing a crocodile was one thing but fighting another male lion and a dozen lionesses that would surely back him up in an instant… well, whatever.
“He’s gonna go bald if he keeps worrying like that.” Thuli said with a deep sigh, not really caring if the Umholi heard her. She lowered her body to the ground and rolled over languidly. If they were going to be waiting for a while, she’d much rather wait lying down even if she was starting to feel a little itchy for some reason. Thankfully it wasn’t long until Gakere arrived and the fun started again. Her half-brother, of course, was a reasonable lion who gave Nguvu the possibility to challenge one of the Umholi and rejoin the pride and his sisters. Only a narrow minded fool would’ve thought of anything else though if she were to be completely honest, this hadn’t been the outcome she’d expected either. Not that she was willing to admit it anytime soon.
As Nguvu won his rank, Thuli eyed those who’d wanted to send the male away as if Nguvu’s victory had been her own and she followed after her sister Ora with bouncy steps.
--------------------------------
Baie hadn’t expected Nguvu to choose to challenge one of the Umholi nor had she expect to see a challenge during the migration but she was pleased that a male that had come from their pride had toughened up so well in the outside world. Few of the Abazingeli were related to the lion so if he continued to prove his strength, Nguvu would certainly be a good addition to the pride. As they continued on their journey, Baie couldn’t help but notice that many of her fellow pride members seemed to be having some itching issues. Maybe the area’s foliage was to blame.
