So... what? Syd was confused as all get out as to WHAT their meat was made of now, so she just stood there, frowning as she tried to figure out-- "Does Halloween have cows?" she finally asked the other trainees. What? It was a serious question! "Or... tofu?"
Stumped Syd was stumped.

"Good." He was suspicious of why they would be so eager to accommodate them all, doubtful that the change of heart was down to any major shift in the overarching politics, Jordan had hinted that individuals with Halloween sympathies were in the minority on the island. He wasn't sure where Rin's sympathies lay, but he was slowly determining that shock factor might be the way to jar him to his side of things.
The confused look was mere fuel for him.

Okay, so he liked the topic of minipets. She'd stick with that for now. "Pets, of course, Yǐn Cáng. They each have their own little home, and are taken out for walks and they're fed only the best of Fear candy." Sasha smiled at him brightly and jotted down a few notes on her paper. Of course, she'd only cleaned out their tanks, but there wasn't anything wrong with smudging the truth just a little bit. "Do you have a minipet, Yǐn Cáng? Or, maybe even more than one?"

Amrita should have been suspicious, but she was still under the hesitantly hopefuly suspicion that Deryk was actually making changes in the place. Why else would she and her friends still be alive, right?
"No." Amrita nearly growled to Deryk's question. Surely he meant it in a nice way, meaning to bring her company that was closer to her...but there was no way she was going to bring someone else into this white cage. Even so, she really didn't know anyone who would come here willingly...even on her request. As much as she wanted to see her friends again, to roll her eyes at Christof's crazy moodswings, to hug Lizzy and get head pats...she wasn't going to potentially endanger them. She still had no idea why they were really here. Even though Deryk was here, she was still suspicious.
"I figured not." She had calmed down again, moving to sit on the floor with the soles of her backwards feet pressed together. "That's the only thing I want from you, though, except for maybe the t---" The ghoul paused, brow raising as a sudden thought hit her. The truth of why they were here...Deryk's words were nice and sweet, but he was still a Hunter. Someone could have put them up to this...how would she find out the truth about this?
"I want to talk to Petra." If the ghoul was still alive, anyway. Rin had no clue the good doctor was watching, if she did she'd be pissing herself in terror right about now. Instead, she set her jaw and tilted her head to the side at the demon within before leaning into the mic again, "You must have me confused with someone else. I'd not been to The Haunted House in months."
That wasn't a lie at least, merely confirming his complaint.

Deryk cringed a bit at that growl. Well he had to try. Letting out a sigh, he nodded, then looked back to Amrita. "Well then.. Sorry," he murmured quietly. Though, the sudden request had him blinking at the undead girl for a moment or so. "Petra? You know Petra?" he he said, a little confused, "Um sure. Though.. I thought you don't really like the others?"Why would someone want to talk to something they didn't like? Well in any case, he took his phone out to make a text to the other trainee. X_Nata_X Text to Petra from Deryk: Hey Petra. Uh. Might sound kinda weird but one of the captive students wants to talk to you. Amrita? If you know her? She's at Lab A. Sending the text, he looked back to the girl. "Went ahead and texted her. Not sure if she'll come but there's that."

"I know. That's what I mean. It was a few months back that I met you." He wasn't sure why he was so offended by the fact she didn't remember him, or, if she did, she was denying it. It was curious. Would he get her in trouble? Was she meant to be in the haunted house that day? He flicked his tail idly, refolded his wings and clasped his claws.
"I didn't look entirely like this at the time, I looked like one of you. But I suppose the resemblance is clear enough to tell that."
He smiled in a way that showed most of his fangs. "So. Why didn't you come back?"

She said nothing to his apology, but she did give a surprisingly sweet smile when she realized he was confused.
"I know Petra." Amrita confirmed, giving a little nod. She knew she got the name right; she could never forget the first Hunter who ever attacked her. "I don't. You're the only one I do like." She admitted, still smiling away. But that was why she wanted Petra; it was a rare moment of clarity where she actually had a plan sort of idea.
"Thank you~" It was a relief; she has seen Deryk use his phone, and he was the only one she liked enough to trust he was doing as he said. Besides, it certainly looked like he was texting. While she waited, she stared at him thoughtfully. Deryk furrowed his brow in confusion. So then why did she want to talk to Petra? Granted, he was curious what had happened between the two before. "Uh. What happened between you two? Since.. you know her and all. And no. Not a lab tech."

Yin...yes, he was relaxing ever so slightly at the talk of minipets. People that cared for minipets could not be all bad. Not if they actually cared for them. Why she would care to write about minipets...who only knew. But maybe she was just the writing type? "I have a a few. Namely Princess Eva. She is a Rabo actually, and a gift. But she is rather smart really." He had a slightly far-away look on his face. But wait, no, they were keeping him away from her. "I need to get back, she will be expecting dinner soon." Not that he really knew what time of day it was. And if Alexander was free...surely he would take care of Princess Eva. The door to the observation part of the containment room burst open as a third tech popped in, making a slicing motion with their finger across their neck. Immediately, all sound was dropped from the observation room. All the students would see were some Hunter techs apparently miming rather animatedly.
"Okay," They paused for a second, taking a huge double-take at the surplus of trainees in the room. A hand went to their forehead. "Are you guys here for the field observation exercises because I could have sworn I asked for a couple of Hunters not the whole army- you know what - let's just pretend that having a whole army is perfectly normal right now and just let me explain to you the procedure, shut up Mike noone likes you anyway."
Mike sat back down, mouth still half-open with a question.
The tech took a second to acknowledge the elephant in the room with a Sir, before pressing on. "So thankfully all of us here have better things to do, and I don't know what divine being blessed us with an endless supply of Hunters and trainees, but beggars can't be choosers. Basically, five of you will be picking up field observation duty. What it means is you get to pick out one student, the one you are designated with for responsibilities, and take them out for walksies. Don't worry, they've been treated already with a Fear suppressant - a mild one - so they won't be able to attack, or escape, or anything violent really. It's kind of like taking a minipet out for walksies okay. Keep in mind all conversation you say will be recorded and possibly used against you if you mess up. This isn't a fun exercise or anything, you have to monitor notes for your puppy, any behavioural changes, potential information leaks, signs of compliance, anything you can think or see, you write it down. It's to make them feel more comfortable with us, and for us also to get a bit of field data. You can move them along anywhere in the facility, just not in any of the buildings, outside is okay as long as you don't pass the lighthouse portal entrance as if they try to escape well, they will find themselves-" He tapped on the glass and smiled. "We normally pair up the most compatible with the weapons candidate, but I think with this many, why don't we let the specimens choose?"
The tech pressed a button, and the microphone un-muted. "I hope you're getting cozy with the trainees here, apologies for the crowd, you know how it is, first day, busy day, park's open, everyone wants to see, yada yada. Anyway, I have a little proposition for you. Each one of you can choose one Hunter you see here - any one on the team in this room - as a buddy for an hour, max of three choices a day, let's not get too greedy here now. You and them are then allowed out of them room, within specifically marked areas, just a little bit of freedom, walking around, touring the facility, fun things like that. That means you don't have to stay crammed here, but you do need a walking buddy. Enjoy."
The third tech muttered something about fallacy curves and made a brief exit as the second tech returned to beating their high score on Tetris and the first to reaching for the microphone. "Yeah you heard them!" A cough. "I mean, if you want some free time, just point to anyone you'd like, and you can go for walksies."OOC STUDENTS:- STUDENTS (still using the compatibility/ etc marker on page 3) can now choose to go for a "break" outside the containment facilities. They are only allowed in very restricted areas, which include: THE TRAINING GROUNDS (cannot access courses), THE BEACH AND LIGHTHOUSE PORTAL (cannot access portal/ will dissipate back to labs if they try), and THE ABANDONED TOWN (outside). - That means all they have to do is literally QUOTE a player and then ICly rp their student "selecting" that Hunter, either by naming or describing them. They will be immediately granted access outside for AN IC HOUR. They can PRP with the Hunter as much as they want, talk, attempt to ask questions, etc etc. If your student has left with another Hunter after selecting them, just rp them leaving with the Hunter - once the Hunter has accepted and pulled them out - and then post an EXIT post. - Your student AND the Hunter will then post in the main part of the guild a [PRP] between your student + the Hunter as they wish. Once you are done the PRP (one hour long ICLY), your student will ICLY enter back into the facility with an ENTER. Because of ooc timezones, it is possible to have more than one PRP going at one, just make sure to CHECK YOUR TIME correctly according to OOC TIME PST. That means: - Current OOC time is 10pm. My student selects Hunter BOB. Hunter BOB accepts. WE make a PRP. We can then complete the PRP in our own time/ as long as we need, which ICly lasts for an hour. - Now, all I need to do is wait OOC 1 HOUR till 11:00pm. That is when my student arrives ICly BACK at the containment facility (ENTER) REGARDLESS of whether or not I've completed the PRP with Hunter Bob, this IC arrival back will signal the end of one IC hour (your RP to be filled in your + the other rper's own time). Now I can select another Hunter SUE, and make a PRP with them as well. I can juggle both PRPS, but icly one happens BEFORE the other in one hour IC intervals. This is to not penalize OOC time zones. - Of course you can only do three of these MAX PER STUDENT so select your Hunters wisely. - Students will still need to post at the bottom of each of their posts the MARKER for compatibility (see page 3) HUNTERS:- You can still interact with students that are still inside the containment facility. If a student selects you through quoting, you can choose to take them for a "walk". It is up to you which of you wants to start the PRP but see above in the student section regarding time zones and how this works. You can PRP as you please, but also for you, after one OOC hour, that is when your Hunter arrives ICly back with the student, REGARDLESS of if you've finished the PRP or not. - What this means if, if you leave with student A at 10:00pm PST and start a PRP, your Hunter will ICly arrive back at 11:00pm PST OOC time ALONG with the student regardless if you've finished the PRP or not. You and student A can then take as long as you want to finish that PRP while another student can also select your Hunter and you can repeat the process. - It is expected of course that Hunters will ask students questions!

Go for a walk? He could...he could use it as an opportunity to see where they were. To see if there were any options available. If he had to have someone with him...it was a chance he could not refuse. "Miss Sasha? Would you like to get some fresh air?" he assumed it would be fresh.
