His eyes watched Iwao-sensai's movements; memorizing the hand signs involved and their order. This would be his first raiton technique which was a C-rank jutsu. Following the signs, a five meter wide beam of bright light erupt from the man's hands. Kenji's eyes widened in surprise at the power of the jutsu as it met its mark a few yards away. He wasn't kidding when he said "higher rank jutsu". And now it was his turn to try.
Taking a deep breath, he stood across a different practice dummy to fire upon. He proceeded to use the same hand signs his sensei showed him while visualizing the jutsu. Just as he did the last, the genin felt something sparking in his hands. Aiming at the target, a beam of lightning came forth and struck the dummy. However, the sensation of electricity could be felt running up his arms. The pain made him flinch and grit his teeth; ending the jutsu prematurely. Kenji held his hands in front of him, watching as the sparks faded before looking to Iwao-sensei."Was...that suppose to happen?"he asked. Maybe this was one of those double-edged sword jutsu.

Raikou Kousen no Jutsu [ Lightning Beam Technique ] Rank: C Official Description: The attack from Lightning Blast has been upgraded further, making it into a beam twice as wide as before( five meters in width ), and much more damaging. Targets hit head-on with this Jutsu will experience a fantastic amount of pain and be stunned after the Jutsu ends. Also, nearly missing with this Jutsu also has some effect. Because of the high amount of voltage, small lightning bolts can arc from the beam to someone standing within two feet of it, causing shocks a little bit more damaging than those of Lightning Bolt technique. This Jutsu can be ended prematurely by the user.

Kimmiko watched the girl smiling some as she learned more techniques. "I'm gonna go sit and relax for a bit. If you wanted you could continue training here, maybe even work your physical training's. When i feel like training i tend to do push ups and stuff like that, gotta keep fit you know." As she went and sat down on the bench nearby Resting back against the wall behind it she closed her eyes for a few as she spoke again. "Just go ahead, not gonna stop you from bettering yourself. Also don't let all those things worry you. You just gotta feel it within yourself. If the jutsu sounds like a good idea and you can see yourself doing it. Then its was meant to be learned am i right?" She then smiled rubbing her eyes. She was beginning to feel a bit tired but she knew better then sleep.
Watching as Kenji performed the jutsu he showed him, Iwao smiled, thinking maybe he could do this whole teaching thing. But when he saw the jutsu end early and heard Kenji ask him about something, visibly gritting in pain, Iwao lokked worried about the kid. Walking over, it hit him “Oh! Damn! I’m really sorry, Kenji. I forgot that raiton hurts to use if you don’t train to resist it first…I’m a satetsu user, so I’m naturally resistant to raiton anyway, so I didn’t think of it. Again, I’m sorry about that.” Building up his chakra near the surface of his skin, Iwao changed the nature to raiton and held his hand up for Kenji to see, “Let’s do the resistance training. Bring your raiton chakra up through your whole body and hold it there as long as you can take it, then let it disperse. Keep doing that over and over, and you should notice it hurting less, up to the point where you barely notice it at all.” He’d then let his chakra disperse back into his body. Thinking to himself, it was strange. Usually he still felt a slight tingle when he used his raiton…now he felt nothing at all….

Kenji looked at his hands again while Iwao-sensai explained he needed to train to resist it first. He didn't blame him for forgetting, considering his reason, but the young shinobi hoped this wouldn't be a reoccurring incident.'Conditioning, huh? Makes sense I guess'he nodded to himself. Did other natures need conditioning like raiton? Well, it didn't really matter since he only had raiton. Eyes shifting to the jounin who was showing him how to do the resistance training, he couldn't help but feel uneasy. Basically, he would be electrocuting himself until he adjusted to the feeling. Yeah...no problem...
Once the tingling sensation in his arms wore off, he decided to begin the training with a sigh. First he focused his chakra to the surface of his skin all over his body. Next was turning it into raiton chakra and where the pain began. Kenji balled up his hands, fighting through the pain until it was hardly noticeable. Despite just starting, he had to let go from the intensity and restarted. Every Hatake had to have gone through this training at one point so it was like a rite of passage in his mind. A few minutes later, the pain went from feeling sharp to prickly until it was now just numb. It felt very strange, like a subtle vibration..."I think...I got it"he alerted his sensei, letting the chakra disperse.

As most know electricity in general is a deadly and somewhat scarce element, generally one could only collect the necessary electricity necessary to perform techniques if they were fighting in the middle of a thunderstorm, or near an electrical source. However current training standards in the academy show how a cloud-nin tends to make electricity through the use of chakra, turning most Cloud-nin in to human capacitors, technically. The process is generally quite painful and requires about 5 months of mental and physical conditioning to resist the charges you activate onto your body. As it is written, this technique is optional. A person who doesn't take this skill will generally feel pain when even performing their own electricity based techniques, also one who tends to take this ability tends to notice that minor shocks generally do not hurt them as badly. Note: This skill is passive.
Iwao watched as Kenji worked on his electrical resistance training, smiling slightly as he could see the kid getting used to the current and it not really hurting him anymore. When he finished, and commented on the feeling, Iwao, chuckled a bit, “Yeah, it’s a kind of weird feeling at first, but you get more used to it over time.” After a while of thinking through the lower ranked jutsu he knew, Iwao realized just how few low ranking jutsu he knew. Looking back over at Kenji, he’d say “Hmm, I don’t have much in the way of raiton jutsu below C-rank, I can either teach you what I know for B-ranks, which are mostly defensive, or you can grab that scroll over there and I’ll help you learn whatever jutsu you pick. The choice is yours” Iwao would point over at a shelf across the room that had a bunch of scrolls on it.

Waiting patiently for his sensei to deliver the next task, Kenji looked around at the other students training. He wondered what he'd learn to do next with his raiton chakra. Unfortunately, his instructor couldn't offer too many techniques below C-rank. So he had the option of learning a defensive B-rank jutsu or finding a scroll with a jutsu to learn. As long as it was raiton, he felt he could handle it."A good defense is a strong offense"he responded, expressing his desire to learn what his sensei had to offer.

Haruka Hyuuga "Time to start the puppet show!" | Genin | Sunagakure | The One Girl Show | 350/350 | Hyuuga | Puppeteer | Brawler | Suiton | Doton | The Hyuuga entered the academy and looked around, taking a deep breath and listening to the sounds echoing around her. There was sounds of Jutsu being performed, the scent of sweat permeating the air, the light sound of teachers talking and training their students, or friends chatting amongst themselves. Haruka looked around, opening her lavenderish white eyes, scanning for Iwao and Grym, whoever they were. She saw a bear and a large, mountain of a man before another person, probably slightly younger than herself. She walked up to them, watching the bear closely but it didn't seem harmful. "Excuse me, are You Iwao and Grym?" She asked aloud to the man.

The giant jounin would nod at Kenji’s words, “I prefer to stay on the offensive myself, but alright, I’ll show you a couple defensive raiton.” He then stood there, slowly performing the handsigns for one jutsu. When he finished, two large disc formed around him and orbited around him. “This si the electric gyroscope technique, it slows you down a bit, but it will protect you from smaller projectiles coming your way, and also gives enemies using taijutsu a good shock if they get too close.” Iwao would then end that jutsu, “Alright, here’s another one that is a good defense, protecting everywhere but directly above and below you.” He’s then slowly perform this new set of handsigns, and slap his hands on the ground. Suddenly pillars of raiton chakra would rise around the two of them. “This is Rising Storm. Now give these a try.” He’d then stand tall again, ending the jutsu as soon as his hands left the ground and stood back out of range of the jutsu.
Hearing another voice, the big man turned and looked down to see a small girl, about his sister’s size, asking for him. “Yea, I’m Iwao…the big furry one over there is Grym..I’m guessing my sister told you to find me for training?” Grym growled a little at Iwao for his kind of lame joke, but Iwao just laughed it off. Noticing her white eyes, Iwao spoke again, “So what would you like to start with, little Hyuuga cub?”

Again, the genin watched his sensei closely to memorize the hand seals so he wouldn't have to show him twice. This jutsu created rings around it caster and as Iwao explained, allowed you to move but slows you down. Kenji thought of saving it for a situation that wouldn't require much mobility. The next technique protected everywhere around the user but left above and below wide open. It seemed a little risky to use as it was but he'd take it anyway. Perhaps in conjunction with another jutsu it would be safer to use. He prepared to practice the jutsu himself when a girl showed up looking for Iwao-sensei. Kenji said nothing to her, simply giving a nod as a greeting before stepping back for more space."Here goes..."he sighed to himself.
Replicating the handsigns of the first jutsu, he closed his eyes and focused on creating the rings around him. Visualizing the rings helped him mold his chakra accordingly. Although he managed to create two on his first try, they were far too weak and kept fading in and out. They were also too close to him, not at all like Iwao-sensei's. To control and form his chakra around him without the use of his hands was a difficult task to manage.
Cancelling the jutsu, he restarted and tried to take it one step at a time. First he focused on maintaining the rings and keeping them from fading. Once he got the amount of chakra needed right, he began working on the spacing. It couldn't be too close or too far, just as he saw it done. Finally, Kenji had it how he wanted so he began walking around to get a feel for how much mobility it hindered.

Iwao then turned to look at her and she smiled confidently. He introduced himself and his Bear, Grym. The bear growled and she grinned wider, looking at the bear. "Grrr~" She teased before looking to the man who called her a cub. "That depends on what you're willing to teach me, Sensei." She said. She was used to being shorter than other people but it didn't bother her. She found it amusing sometimes and it also made her feel good about herself in the academy when she took on the boys and took them down for making fun of her.

Listening to what the Hyuuga girl said, Iwao chuckled a bit. “Well, that would depend on what you can use….I know Doton and Raiton ninjutsu, and one taijutsu style, the Kaiser Fist. Grym uses Doton and Suiton ninjutsu…..Grym’s doton is a lot of body hardening and stone-based jutsu, I use mainly sand techniques. I could probably help with whatever taijutsu you want to learn, and either Grym or myself could help with ninjutsu.” Turning to check on his other student, Iwao saw that Kenji had finished his training from the look of it. “Sorry, little Hyuuga, le tme tend to my other student for a second.”
Turning to Kenji, Iwao looked over the gyroscopic rings the genin had formed, “Not bad, Kenji…now try these. An upgrade to the clone technique you learned in the academy…” Iwao would slowly run through the handsigns and as soon as he finished there would be a poof of crackling smoke and a copy of the giant jounin would appear next to him. Smiling, Iwao said “Now give that clone jutsu a try.” He’d then turn to his clone, saying “You keep an eye on Kenji, while I wrk with the hyuuga girl.” The clone would nod then stand to watch the genin Hatake.
The original Iwao turned back to the girl, “So, uhh….I never got your name, did I? Well, any idea where you’d like to start now that you know some of what Grym and I can do?”

Kenji was in the middle of testing his new jutsu when Iwao-sensei called out to him. He had another technique for him to learn, even though he hadn't got to learn the other one just yet. This one was an improved clone jutsu that his sensei made it out of raiton chakra, definitely a step up from what he learned. Come to think of it, it reminded him of a jutsu he skimmed over in the Hatake clan scroll. Left with his sensei's clone, the genin focused his chakra to make a clone.
The young shinobi felt it would be quite simple, only needing to do what he did for the Clone Justu. Following the hand signs, he visualized another Kenji standing before him and used his chakra to create that image. All he had to do was use his raiton chakra in place of the standard. In a static puff of smoke, the clone would appear before him. It almost looked like it was a success...until the clone suddenly burst into lightning.
It seemed the jutsu was unstable from what Kenji assumed was too either too much chakra or not enough. No matter, he just needed to figure out what the right amount was, just like with the last jutsu. First he tried to lessen the amount of chakra, which resulted in a flacid, colorless clone...that also exploded. So he went with more chakra the next try, resulting in a more stable clone. He noticed then that the clone was more "solid" than the usual clone."What kind of clones are these?"he asked his sensei's clone.

He turned to check on the other one there before asking her to wait. She watched, humming as she gently swayed back and forth. after a short time, while watching Iwao and the Genin train together, the Jounin returned to her saying he never got her name. "That's not too hard. My name is Haruka Hyuuga of the Hyuuga family. As for where I would like to start..... I wasn't really good with Ninjutsu in the academy, same with genjutsu. I preferred using the puppets. Those were my favorite. Though, sand and water sound like a fun thing to learn as I know my elemental affinities are Doton and Suiton." She said listing off what she was and wasn't good at.

Kaz entered the academy to see many students and teachers training. Giving a respectful nod to Iwao as he seemed to have his hands full a bit with a new student. Looking to be lightning training. Taking his spear in hand he thought it time to take his mastery over the weapon to the next level. Placing one spear, sharp side embedded into the ground. Stepping back and focusing greatly on the the task before him. The spear wiggled some with his focus but he was unable to draw it from the ground without physically grabbing it.

Focusing more on the spear he extended a hand towards it as if to control its movements in his mind. The spear flung out of the ground and spun at him quickly. Grasping it firmly he tossed it back into the air focusing on it intently. The spear descended gradually and he leaped up landing promptly onto the staff of the weapon. Glad he got it to work the way he did he would toy with this jutsu in the future. Looking over to the other students in the area he saw the girl he did in the office earlier. Wanting to see what she was about exactly he hovered over to have a better look. He believed the girls name to be Kimmiko. Curious of how she fought, he crouched down looking at her some."Hey! So tell me, what is your specialty. You look like you favor the physical arts."
Watching kenji try to copy the jutsu that created it, Iwao’s raiton clone smiled slightly when the boy asked his question, “I’m a full shadow clone. While the clone technique taught in the academy is a start, the clones are hollow and easy to destroy. They’re better more as distraction than anything. Me and the clone you just made, however, are solid; we can use any raiton jutsu our originals can and are much more difficult to destroy. We can also use taijutsu, and since we’re made of raiton chakra, physical impacts shock enemies, too” The clone would chuckle a bit. “Any other questions on anything my original has showed you? Or are you ready for another technique?”
The real Iwao listened to the Hyuuga girl, Haruka, as she explained what she was good at and liked to use. “Well, I don’t know much of anything about puppets, honestly, but I can show you the basics with sand techniques to start off, and I’m sure Grym has a few suiton that could be useful for you! We can start with the sand stuff.” Iwao would step back slightly and perform a few handsigns, making sure to move slow enough for the girl to see. Once he’d finished, the ground around his feet began to break down, crumbling into sand. It wasn’t a lot, just enough for a demonstration, though he could easily create mountains of sand at his rank. “Ok, here’s the basic Sand creation jutsu, just crumbles the earth around into sand, the more chakra you put into it, the more sand you can make.” He’s then perform another handsign and hold it. The sand would begin to swirl around as he thought, growing up into spikes, then separating and hovering in midair before he’d shape it into spheres and cubes, then compress it into a shuriken-like shape. “And we have sand manipulation, lets you mold the sand into different shapes, depending on what you want to do with it.” Iwao would then release the jutsu and the sand would fall back to the floor. Looking over at his partner, he say, “How ‘bout you Grym, old buddy, got any fun suiton stuff for our new cub?” The massive bear, dwarfing even the giant Iwao lumbered closer then sat back down, “Ok, cub, try these” The big bear clapped hiss paws together and tweaked hiss ears to look similar to the handsigns and water started to collect from the air in front of them. “It might be a while before you can pull enough water from this dry desert air for high ranking jutsu, but this jutsu will let you use your suiton without being close to a large source of water.” Iwao nodded, “That’s a good idea Grym, now how about something more combat-oriented?” The huge bear grunted, then wriggled his ears some more, suddenly, water formed around him into eight large tentacles. “This jutsu can help cover your back, the tentacles all attack opponents as if they are clones with minds of their own.” The bear would release the jutsu, letting the water drop back to the arid ground. Smiling slightly, Iwao spoke up, “Now give those a try, Haruka!” He was kind of liking this whole teaching thing, it was a nice change of pace from the political maneuverings he took care of for his sister.
