I don't think anyone knows me, but I'm willing to be a vendor. I have two characters for one shop.
Character Name: Kieran Lockley (25)
Product: Various foods, ranging from snacks, baked goods, small take-away meals.
How often can you check/post to the event? I can check/post at least once everyday.
Looks: Kieran's eyes are perpetually closed. On top of his head is unkempt, messy, strawberry-red bedhead hair. He is 6' 2" in height with a light frame with a slight slouch. Kieran sports a white V-neck, olive drab work shorts, orange sandals and an orange full-length apron. Has a habit of rubbing his hands together. Younger sibling.
Personality: Kieran always has a goofy smile on his face, he's very easy-going and friendly.
Character Name: Katarina Lockley (27)
Looks: Katarina's eyes are a light shade of green. Her shoulder-length red hair is held back in a ponytail, but her bangs hang freely. She is shorter than her brother (a fact he often ridicules), standing 5' 9". Has an average bust size, a light frame with good posture. Katarina wears a navy-blue collared shirt, tan khaki shorts, sandals and an orange apron. Older sibling.
Personality: Katarina is more serious compared to her laid-back brother, but is still friendly and outgoing. She can get annoyed by her brother's antics.
First RP in awhile, hopefully I do well. sweatdrop

Vendors, Yay~
Yeah, sorry. Things got crazy round here so we've not had time to get this thing kicked off yet. We're working on the setup and all that jazz shooting for maybe August 1st to start it though we really need more volunteers.
Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
Things we could use help with:
- Need Guards and more Vendors
- Written explanation of how the fights work
- Design and description of the event grounds (where things are and what all is there)
- Decide what sort of prizes should be offered and what for
- Collect some ideas for the various fight rounds

I'm moving at some point between the first and third, have all day appointments on the sixth through eighth, and I'm leaving for camp on the tenth to the eighteenth. I really don't think I can participate anymore.

How many positions of each job do we need filled and how many do we already have?
What kind of help would you like for the explanations of fights and design/description of the grounds? I'd offer help but I think that this task might be best suited for those with the most knowledge of how this thing will run.
For prizes, so far we have blessings and things, right?
As a side note, I think throwing in real prizes (i.e. Gaia gold/items) might land us in the Writing Contests section of the forums rather than in Barton Town.
Fight round ideas:
-anti-magic arena
-tech-equipped arena
-flooded arena
-a round where the goal is to collect an artefact before your opponent does
-a forest arena
-anti-gravity arena

Right now we've got:
- Vendors: EmpyreanFlight (could use a bunch more)
- Marshals: Blackbird and Water (may want a few more)
- Guards: Me (might combine Marshals and Guards if we don't get a few more)
- Announcer (full): Probably be the guild mule so Mel, Venom, and Blackbird can all do announcements
- Judges (full): Isa, Jikial, Mel
As for help writing things. . . Mel is sick and I'm bad at setting up RPs. XD It'll get done when she's feeling better.
Hmm. . . I wonder if we could do it in both? I'll have to look into that. But yes, I figured we would offer gold and items for prizes just need some ideas for how much and what kinds. What are good prize items?
Oooooh. . . anti-gravity. Those are all good ideas but I really like that one.
And, yes, anti-magic fields would be pretty rough on magic users but we'd pair those rounds carefully to even it out. Because I want to see a pair of stringy mages goin' at each other with their daggers. I find this amusing.

Do it in both forums? Would that get messy?
I'm under the assumption that Barton Town would get more traffic than Writing Contests, making the former the more ideal candidate to hold this if we ever decide to do it only in one. From casual observation, people don't usually report things in BT and maybe if we don't stick the words 'writing' and 'contest' in the same sentence, then we might be able to pass it off as an RP. That said, I don't know for sure how tight mods/reporting folk would be on the fine line we're drawing, so it might be good to be cautious about it nonetheless.
Oh oh! I don't know if this is a good idea, but maybe if we're going for cheap prizes, maybe we could give out stuff that has more of a symbolic meaning than a monetary value. Like how different coloured belts work in martial arts. So whoever wins one round gets blue coloured bubble gum and whoever wins two get red coloured bubble gum (a post in the first page would have to keep track of who has what though; items on avatars alone don't really mean anything since anyone can buy the items off the marketplace). I think legit prizes would monetary value would be better, but this is still a thought I'd like to toss up for consideration.
And we were going to stick in some kind of special recognition for best ____, right?
And as another note, if someone's willing to draw art for the winners... I don't know, seems like a possible idea.
We could have the opposite of anti-gravity too. What would that make it... extreme gravity? x3

Watervoir @ NativeForeigner: awwwwww. ): I know. I'm kinda sad about it. I always enjoy writing out fights for Carpenter (I imported him from my RP) and was looking forward to some good competition. Oh well~. I like the idea of an arena that shifts gravity mid fight. Could make for some interesting scenes!
