"Hmmm," Larry said as he stared into the Hoothoot's eyes. They seemed to be having some kind of staring contest, though Hoothoot was taking Larry to seriously. It was to busy watching them. After a while of squatting down, Larry's eyes were finally forced to close. "Nooooo!" Night yelled, falling to his hands and knees at the failure. Hoothoot just stared at Larry curiously, not entirely aware of what was going on. However, it would snap to attention when Larry stood up and said, "I'm gonna catch you."
Seemingly scarred away by this, Hoothoot took flight now. However, it was really just about to go look for food. "After it Pepper," Larry commanded. "Use your peck attack. Sunny, follow me." The two Pokémon sighed before doing their jobs, Pepper taking flight and Sunny following Larry as they gave chase on foot. The Hoothoot wasn't too happy about being pecked at while it flew and stopped in midair, falling to the ground & making Pepper fly past. When the Taillow turned around to attack, it would suddenly be hit in the chest with a hard tackle from below.
"Taillow," the Pokémon said as she flew skywards and then fell to the ground. Being the low level that Pepper was, that attack really hurt. However, since Hoothoot was low as well, the Pecks had also done some damage. "He's weak now," Larry said as he and Sunny came to a sudden stop. When Hoothoot saw Larry, it would be caught off guard by his next move. He actually picked up Sunny and threw her into the bird. It was a heck of a way to tackle, but it did its job so to speak.
"Now for the capture," Larry said, throwing a Poké Ball. Bouncing off the Hoothoot, the ball would shake viciously as Larry waited impatiently for sucess. While he did that, he'd notice foot steps nearby. "Another ghost!" Larry shouted enthusiastically as he ran towards the noise. However, all he would find was some trainer on his merry way. "Aww," Night said in disappointment.

Something was approaching him from behind. Another wild Pokemon? But wait, he wasn't in any tall grass! With a sigh, he reached for T.T.'s Pokeball as he turned around to face whatever it was. Maybe he could put it to sleep and escape that way. ... Only it was the kid screaming about Ghosts. And it seemed like he had thought Graham to be a Ghost-type Pokemon. With a look of slight irritation (rare for him, though he would suspect it to become a little more common the further on his journey he went), he returned the ball to his belt before looking at the boy. "You're way too loud. I don't think there's even any Ghost Pokemon on this Route. If there were, your screams would probably scare them away." he said. But the look of irritation vanished and he grinned. "Disappointed? Larry made a face at the trainer's attitude. You'd think a trainer such as this would understand that urge to catch every Pokémon you see. The only difference was that Larry wanted to catch every ghost Pokémon he saw. "I think you don't know what you're talking about," Larry said defensively. "Last I checked, ghosts like to scare people. What better person to scare than someone running around and calling out to this."
After listening to what else the trainer said, Larry would now fall on his hands and knees in disappointment, as he had done before. "You mean there aren't any spooky pals at all," Larry said in disappointment. "Why must the world be so cruel to a ghost lover?" Turning his head, Larry would be startled by a rustling nearby. However, it turned out just to be Sunny and Pepper. However, Larry's eyes were immediately drawn to the Poké Ball Sunny was holding.
"Sucess?" Larry asked. When Sunny nodded, Larry sprung into the air happily. Moments later, he would grab the Poké Ball and do his little victory dance. However, he would stop suddenly when he realized what the trainer just said. "Wait," he said, frozen in place. "You mean to tell me that I've got to beat some gym guy before I get my spooky little darlings?"
Standing regularly now, Larry would form a cat like smile on his face. "Sounds easy to me," Larry said. "Anything to get my spookies." If the trainer hadn't guessed that Larry loved ghosts by now, he was pretty stupid. "So what's your name anyway?" Larry asked, putting away his new catch.

Graham's face remained neutral despite the grin when the other Trainer made the face at his attitude. If every Pokemon seen was caught, there'd be very little to no Wild Pokemon left. Urges like that had to be resisted. Otherwise, future Trainers would be unhappy. Morons like this guy who caught everything they saw would not only run out of Pokeballs quickly but obviously failed to plan for the future. Sure, Graham had run out of Pokeballs, but at least he looked around before catching every little thing. And if he needed to, he could always come back at a later time to catch the more elusive Pokemon to complete his Pokedex. But whatever, that was neither here nor there. The other boy looked disappointed, complete with the comical 'OTL' pose in his failure, when he learned there were no Ghost-types out this early in the region. "I can't possibly think of a region where something as strong as Ghost-types were found right by the first city." said Graham before he shrugged. "Who knows." Graham then grinned again when the boy did a little victory dance over a caught Pokemon (and even snuck in his own like Tingle would do in Wind Waker whenever you got an item with him nearby), but serious'd the ******** up (complete with his trademark grin) when the boy asked him about how to get to the ruins. "Looks like it. That's what the Gamer's Guide said, at least." he said with another shrug. "Name's Graham. I'm from Sootopolis. You?" he asked, becoming lax in his posture as he slid his hands in his pockets. ... "I see your point," Larry said, folding his arms and nodding. "Especially since this Route isn't really a haunted one." After he finished, Larry would bend his head to the right curiously. "Sootopolis?" Larry said. "Never heard of a place like that before. Sounds like it's on a volcano or something."
A grin would form on Larry's face as he introduced himself now. "The name's Nightingale," the young trainer said, taking off his hood for the first time and putting on his imaginary sunglasses. "Larry Nighingale. Also known as Ghost and hailing from the town of Blyse Cit-" Larry cut off when Sunny suddenly tackled him in the back and sent him falling on his face. She hadn't forgotten about Larry throwing her into that Hoothoot.

At least he was reasonable. Graham smirked when the boy said it sounded like Sootopolis was on a volcano. "It's a city that can only be accessed either by Flying or Diving underwater. It's a pretty chill place." he said. The boy now introduced himself as Larry Nightingale, aka Ghost, and he was from Blyse City. Or at least, he would have said that if it weren't for his Pokemon Tackling him in the back. Graham watched the Pokemon quietly. Didn't that one guy who camped on his campground also have a Snivy? Must be a pretty popular Pokemon or something. He glanced up at the sky, noting how dark it had gotten. "Hey, Larry. It's pretty late. The Routes don't have streetlamps and I highly doubt it'd be safe to travel the Route with only the moon and stars as a light source. Why don't we head back to Blyse and rest up for the night, maybe stock up on supplies before venturing out again in the morning?" he suggested. If Larry had picked a Fire-type, he wouldn't have said anything because a quick and easy campsite could be set up using the Pokemon. Larry would just lay on the ground stupidly, Sunny standing on his head victoriously. "Note to self," Larry thought, "Never throw a Snivy at a Pokémon." However, it was more than that. Not being used to being out this late, Sunny was getting irritable by the minute. Finally picking himself off the ground, Larry would spit out a mouth full of dirt, scraping and brushing his tounge moments later. When this strange routine was done, Larry would maul over Will's question.
"Nah," Larry said. "I prefer night to light and I've got all I need. Plus I'm not really so tired." Or at least, Larry would have said that if it weren't for the intimidating leer that Sunny gave him. "Sure," Larry instead said with a weak nervous smile, "I love light. Light is number 1 in my books. Plus I'm real tired and one can never have too much stuff, right?" Glancing nervously down at Sunny, Larry would see her looking at him as if to say "that's what I thought."

It seemed like Larry didn't want to go back, but some 'reasoning' from his Snivy soon changed his mind. Uh oh... this was going to be a problem further down the road if he let his Pokemon control him like that. But hey, that wasn't his problem. "Right, well... let's start heading back then." said Graham with a shrug, turning to start walking back to Blyse City. He glanced over his shoulder at Larry. Sunny kept her glare aimed at Larry even as Will spoke. It was only interrupted when Pepper came from above and landed on Larry's shoulder. She was pretty banged up from the last battle and seeing her like this made Larry resign on his own about resting for the night. Realizing this, Sunny finally stopped the leer. Hearing Graham call from ahead, Larry raced after the trainer with Sunny trailing behind. "Comin'," Larry said with a smile. "Alright, I'm ready to go back home." Taking the lead, Larry would quicken his pace as they got near the city.

((We'd have to talk to Kenocka about that. I spoke with her and Graham's got an okay, but you'd need to actually speak with her about it and see if you can tag along. I think she's writing some story revolving that thread, so I dunno if we can have more people show up.)) And so they walked back to Blyse City. Overhearing Larry's words, Graham spoke. "Hmm... maybe I should call my family back in Sootopolis and let them know I'm doing all right. "Pokémon Center?" Larry repeated, looking about him. "That's just the place to heal little Pepper." The injured bird simply let out a "Taillow" in response. Meanwhile, Sunny would be regaining her composure and slowly coming back to normal. She was still the nighttime bully, but she was slowly returning to the mature babysitter.

((There's no real point in us being there though. Let's just stay here. XD)) They soon reached the Blyse City, and with some navigating, they soon came upon the red-roofed building. Graham walked into the building and up towards the counter. "Nurse Joy, can I have a room for the night?" he asked as he started setting his Pokeballs on the tray to have his Pokemon all healed up. The Nurse was quiet for the moment, but she disappeared to heal his Pokemon. She soon came back with a Chansey and handed him a room key. He grinned. When Larry arrived in Blyse, he would take in a deep breath as memories flooded in. You'd think he'd been out in the woods forever. His first thought was to visit his mother, but he'd promised himself he'd never see her or speak to her again until he either got his first badge or failed miserably on his journey. Instead, Larry would remember about Pepper and follow Graham inside. While Nurse Joy tended to Graham's needs, Larry would be busy messing with the Chansey.
Since he'd never been to the PC before, Larry had never seen a Chansey before. Looking around the Chansey, Larry would start to get annoying when he started playing with Chansey's tail and "hair." He got really annoying when he poked at Chansey's egg. When he was about to pick it up, Sunny finally stepped in and pushed Larry away with a tackle, Pepper managing to fly away before the attack. When Nurse Joy saw this, she wasn't really so estactic about helping Larry. Even so, she knew it was her job to do so.
"May I help you?" she asked mechanically. Popping up into a standing position, Larry would approach Nurse Joy as if nothing had happened. "Yea my Taillow needs healing," Larry said, gesturing to the bird as she landed on the counter. "That and I'd like one room please. Preferably one that's haunted. I'll feel right at home there."
The Nurse shook her head, much to Larry's dismay. "Unfortunately that young gentleman over there took the last key," she said. "However, I'm sure we can heal your Taillow along with your other Pokémon." Larry nodded sorrowfully before handing Joy his Hoothoot and Taillow's balls, having recalled Pepper. Since Sunny hated Poké Balls, Larry had to pick up the Snivy and put her with the Poké Balls.
As Nurse Joy disappeared with everything to do her business, Larry would realize that he'd never given Hoothoot a name. He'd have to do that later. When Joy returned with Sunny and the balls, Larry would put away everything, except Sunny of course, in his bag and go after Graham. "Looks like I'm bunkin' with you roomy," Larry said with a hand on the trainer's shoulder.

His Pokemon were returned to him fully healed, and after thanking the Nurse Graham headed towards the phones. Finding an empty one, he stuck a phone card into a slot and called home. It rung a few times before an image appeared on the monitor. "Hey mom." he said with a smile. "Ah, Graham! We were just thinking about you! How's your journey going so far? Did you catch a lot of Pokemon?" she asked excitedly before turning to look at the side. "Everyone, get over here! It's Graham!" His father and younger brother soon appeared on the monitor too. After an exchange of greetings, he told them about his journey so far and how it looked like most of the people he had met so far were practically unprepared for their journey. He probably would have been too if his dad hadn't helped him get ready before he left. He was asked about the boat ride from Lilycove and if everything was alright. He nodded. "Yeah, everything's okay. I got to the Lab with no problems. Oh! Wanna see the Pokemon I got from there?" Everyone looked excitedly as Graham let out the Mudkip, who cooed as he looked up at the monitor, wagging his tail fin. They looked surprised yet pleased, then said they let everyone know that he was doing well. Rolling for type of Pokemon. Post # 24***** As dusk had been approaching fairly quickly Lee found herself having to set up camp in an almost haphazard way. Once the tent was set up there wasn't much to do other than bond with her growing team. The woman wasn't worried in the slightest about wild Pokemon attacking her in the middle of the night. This might have been because she was going to have Poochy and Bederpy sleeping in the tent with her. She couldn't do the same for Twiggy and Hally unfortunately. Twiggy would be too big for such a thing at some point and she didn't want him getting used to something he eventually wouldn't be able to do. Hally had non-retractable claws and that was reason enough. As she was checking her surroundings one last time - nothing wrong with being overly cautious - the grass rustled violently. Instantly Twiggy rushed to her side while the rest of her team formed a protective semi-circle around her.
