Molly could only twiddle her thumbs more nervously as there seemed to be even more exchanges between trainees and intermediates and the head. She hated the tension. Not only that, but she was hating the reputation this group seemed to be gathering, which seemed to be reflected on the other trainees who were behaving. Ugh. The young woman was only all too glad as Aria was finally able to inform them of their objective, and was only all to happy to pop out of her seat and head over to Candace and Cass once they were dismissed. Now, she was also eager to do well, to show Aria that she was nothing like those unruly trainees. The Mist trainee offered a tentative smile towards her two leads for this assignment. ā Iām all ready to go, Miss Candace and Miss Cass.ā

Sydney looked at Dillon, about to start up her entire list all over again, then she was greeted by the pretty blonde boy that had been there when they woke up. "Yes, sir," she said quietly. "Sydney Lowe, Mist Division," she added, now quick to claim the title since Aria had put it that way. "Dillon--" And he was Dillon, right? She could assume that since he had approached her and seemed to be coming with her to be a Death Division for a bit. "Dillon and I were wondering if there is a list of things we should bring?"
Haha, very funny.

There were a lot of... lady bits... in the group he'd be working with. Not that he had a problem with that in the least - woman power and all that! - but it was a little nerve wracking. Especially when the heads of his group seemed to be very strong women.
< They're just hunters. Now, you heard your location. What are you going to do about it? >
... Put on some damn gloves. He pulled them out of his bag as he approached Cass and Candace and the other two women, pulling them on. He strapped the bag over his shoulders as he nodded. "I'm good, ma'am."

Ami sat in silence as Aria talked. Apparently they were going to the north pole. Her frown fell even deeper on her face. North pole. Seriously? She had the clothing for a fun day in the snow, but for the freaking north pole? No way.
As Dillon left to go talk to Gale (who, by the way, she was totally having a little girly fangasm over), Ami left to go talk to her prospective ... err ... "leader." Considering Marcus was the only moon hunter in the room that was above the newbie rank, Ami assumed it was him.
< Didn't you have a crush on- >
No.
Her suspicions were confirmed when he spoke to them about about preparing their gear. s**t. She was most worried about her boots. Somehow, it didn't seem like heels would be very appropriate in the snow. Hmm.
Ami walked up to Marcus a little timidly, and said, "Err. Do you have an idea were I could get a pair of snow boots?" Awkward to the max. Marcus was nice though, right?

All this little Q&A session did was prove how ******** amazing her leader was, and how the Mist and Life divisions were the only divisions with trainees that weren't complete idiots. Well, not all of them...just Sun and Moon each had at least one dumbass. She felt bad for Jordan when Aria assigned him as Rep's mentor. Poor, poor Jordan. But she was glad Gale and Madison weren't completely screwed out of this mission by being given a couple of the Mists. She was even happier to hear that she got to keep Molly and Mercedes. <******** yes. She knew them! She would happily work with all of the Mists but it was nice to have two she knew in her squad, and from what she'd seen despite being late Feng wasn't terribly stupid like..certain other trainees. Ten minutes, huh? Alrighty! Candace smiled at Cass as she called out to their three trainees. She was glad Rin's catty remarks hadn't gotten to the girl. Kudos, Cass. Kudos. She was also very glad the Mists had heeded her texted warning, though with Molly she wasn't the least bit surprised considering how well and how eagerly the girl followed instructions. Such a good girl! "Since you guys are all ready why don't we head to the training field and Cass and I will give you the rundown as we walk." Because Mist was <******** awesome. Her squad would rock this, she just knew it. This was going to go splendidly. Nothing could go wrong. Candace was excited to do right by Aria and do this mission as perfectly as they were able.

Cass just had an extremely high tolerance level for bullshit. She probably shouldn't have, but by the end of the mission she'd completely have forgiven Rin for being nasty to her - probably not to Aria, but Cass wouldn't be holding any personal grudges. Besides, Rin was getting the sweet vengeance of having to work underneath someone who would be holding a small mission-time grudge for her. And that delicious irony made her all warm and fuzzy on the inside.
She checked her messages on her phone quickly as the group assembled, smiling to herself as she sent one back:Quote: That should be a Y/Y. You know I won't turn that down. Chili hot chocolate? She knew what her boy liked, what could she say?
"No need to call me 'Ma'am', Feng - I'm assuming as you don't look like a Mercedes to me. Cass is fine." she said, shrugging and flashing the boy a quick smile. "Like Candace said, on the way down to the Training Fields, we'll give you guys what our objective as Mists are - since each group will be doing different things, but we're also going to need to be on top of what the others are doing, because we'll be assisting them if needed."
Which was probably why the Mists had that map.

Oh, thank god they hadn't ended up with obvious assholes. Madison followed Gale, squaring her shoulders and doing her level best to look competent - and, really, now that the mission was actually underway, in a sense, she felt like she could handle things just fine. Maybe not in a specifically Death-like way, but she was fairly sure she wasn't going to get anyone in her little squad killed. "Nice to meet you both," she said, smiling at Sydney and Dillon. "We're going to the North Pole, so... dress warmly, if you haven't already?" She gestured at her own fur-lined coat. "And general... survival stuff is always a good plan. Flashlights, firesteel, bandages... oh, you guys both have your weapons, right?"

There was a small tent on the training field. It was a plain tent, tan in color. The trainees that gathered near it could hear a soft humming coming from the inside. For the intermediate trainees, it bore a striking resemblance to another tent they had seen before. That particular tent was only the beginning to a rather disastrous mission. With luck this tent would be different. Aria made her way through the crowd of trainees, decked in her standard gear. She had shed her heavy winter coat in favor of her normal one. The division leader herself did not carry a backpack or supply bag. Aria pulled the tent flap aside to reveal something that was pale blue and glowing. It looked like a doorway of some sort, built of pale gray stone and blue runic markings. Aria walked directly into this and disappeared, clearly expecting to be followed. Upon arrival, there was no biting wind. No snow crunched underfoot, no chill assaulted their senses. The only thing that did serve to affront the senses was a loud buzzing overhead as a loose light fixture thrummed with electricity. The room they were in was about as large as the debriefing room, giving them enough room to move around and step aside as more trainees came through the portal. The size of the room was made smaller by the amount of damage and disarray it was in. Dark stains were splattered on both the walls and floors of varying red and brown hues, broken only by the piles of debris. The debris was a soggy mixture of plaster and wood, some containing the dark stains and others not. There was enough debris on the ground to make the ground uneven and risky. The outpost itself was punctured by four noticeable, gaping holes. Despite these, the base was rather warm. Uncomfortably warm, even. Snow could be seen piled up against the holes as if stopped by an invisible barrier. Trainees could even hear the wind howling outside, however the wind did not come inside. The electricity and heating were still intact. The trainees that bundled themselves up for the cold weather would find themselves sweating. The largest of the holes was at ground level, large enough to be easily reworked to fit a pair of fancy french double doors. On the other side of the outpost a smaller hole could be seen, on level with a window. The third hole was near this one, however it was lower. The fourth hole was in the ceiling itself, providing the means for a very large skylight. Of course, as it was the North Pole the skylight would have been crusted over with snow and ice in less than a day it was put in, but it was the thought that counted. Trainees would need to use a very large ladder in order to get up to it and investigate it further. Within the room itself, the furniture had been rearranged. Some of the pieces were tossed aside and broken, adding further wreckage to the unsteady piles of debris. Others had been overturned and used to form some sort of defensive barrier, or possibly they were simply overturned and knocked aside. Some of the furniture was even pushed up against the door that lead to the bedroom and bathrooms of the outpost's inhabitants. Was it meant to lock someone in, or to serve as a defense for a severely-wounded hunter? There were still a few tables and counters that were untouched in the room. These contained all sorts of equipment. The most recognizable were the computers, however one of them was smashed quite thoroughly. The experienced intermediates could pick out life division lab equipment mixed in with the scouting devices favored by the death division, from Fear scanners to a set of familiar looking heat-sensing masks. There was even a printer, however it was currently in pieces and scattered all over the floor. The ground near the largest of printer pieces was also ashy, as if something was burned there. When the last of the trainees had stepped through, Aria turned to face them. " Rin, William. You two, outside. Run a perimeter -- that is, walk around the outside of the outpost. Weapons out. If you see a threat, take it on only if you think you can handle it. Otherwise, return and report so that the Suns may deal with it. Death squad, scavenge what you can from the equipment. Life squad, recover the more valuable equipment and look for any survivors. Moon squad, ready the defense. While it may be clear now, we could be attacked at any moment. Sun squad, cover Moon as they prepare defenses. Stay alert. Mist squad, provide assistance the other squads as needed. Gale try to get one of the computers running. If we can bring up the surveillance system that will be one less thing we'll need to worry about. All of you, get to it." The OOC This mission has an emphasis on exploration. You will recover more information and gain more details by doing so. Think of it as a point-and-click adventure, where clicking on various different objects yields either an item or an event to progress the story. To examine something, please bold and red your action. Let's say, for instance, Bob the Trainee wanted to pull some of the furniture away from the doors leading to the bedrooms/bathrooms in the outpost: Quote: Bob stared at the wreckage before him. Where was he even supposed to begin?! He figured that he might as well start blocking up some of the holes and decided to grab one of the larger pieces of furniture blocking the door to the rest of the outpost and drag it towards the large hole in the wall. Once there, he shoved it on its side to act as a physical barrier. Please limit yourself to only ONE action/examination per GM "round" as there are roughly 20 of you and only one of me. 8D Some actions/decisions will yield a prompt to roll a dice to determine success. I will quote you when this occurs. And speaking of... Riyoku and Baneful Should your characters decide to follow orders and run the perimeter, please roll 1d10. Your results will determine your characters' successes. If any.

Looking between the other mists, Feng she recognized, Candace of course too, but Molly and Cass were new. Thank goodness for this she would at least be meeting new hunters but not quite be alone. Finally breaking from her cold silence she wriggled in her coat and smiled to Cass after catching up to their small congregation. Mercedes was nervous of course but she refused to let it show. "I'm all ready. It's pretty silly to show up not prepared in the first place right?" Hadjoc dangled lifelessly behind her ear but the trainee reached back and caressed against the frays and heard the fizzling as the double crossbows worked their way into her hands. "I don't know how fast I can bring these out, is it cool?" Miss Chenoweth glanced to Feng and Molly with great curiosity. She wondered if either of them got along with their bonded creatures. Candace seemed to be quite tolerance of hers but she had been around for much longer... She assumed at least!

Casually sitting on one of the remaining counters, the hooded form of Dr. H sat comfortably, sipping a mug of hot chocolate. "I do so love it when you get all authoritative, Aria. But I think the other version of you wore it a little better, don't you think?" He smiled and gave a little finger wave to the entering trainees.

Well, these trainees would hopefully learn a bit about humility and taking advantage of being prepared when the option was presented to them. As Ami approached he looked down at her shoes and resisted the urge to slap his face. "There isn't enough time to get you proper shoes unless you have them in your dorm." Rummaging in the pack he pulled out two bags and rubberbands. "If your shoes leak, then there won't be much we can do aside from preventing it from reaching your socks." He sighed. "Please just- don't get frost bite." Ready he went to the grounds motioning the moon trainees to follow suit. He wasn't going to explain, they had that option last night. In any event, Marcus found himself annoyed that he was going to be very uncomfortably warm. Well, better have than have not in some cases. Dr. H he didn't even pay much mind to, as it was Aria's voice that commanded. " Ami, Emma, Saya, Michael take the some of the whole or less broken furniture and start on a barricade for the largest whole. Remember we still have other places to cover, so senselessly packing it in isn't a huge option." Grabbing two of the chairs, Marcus went to moving them on either side of the gaping hole. they could adjust the set up as needed for now. He also made a point to ignore the Doctor. Just going to do his own thing.

Aria turned to face Dr. H at the sound of his voice, frowning thoughtfully. "I believe I shall accept that as a compliment, Doctor." She kept her tones civil, fighting down the initial rise of panic. H was here. He wasn't in his labs, he wasn't in his rooms, he was here. Did the Council send him? Was he to replace her? Truthfully she would not mind if he took over. She disliked leading the large groups, for as a Mist her role was always a supportive one. If she was not supporting a group, then she was out on her own with only herself to answer for. The mantle of leadership was one she herself was not comfortable with, and quite loathed.
"I must confess, I did not have the honor of meeting the... other version of myself, as you put it." She offered a shrug, dismissing it. "To what pleasure do I owe your presence here, H?"

Rep arrived at the training field in good time for the mission, not keen to miss anything that went on, though careful not to make his pace seem eager or any of that nerdy s**t. He was still surprisingly quiet, at least by Rep standards, not all that keen to have to head out scouting with only a person he hardly trusted for company, and a woman no less. It was enough to dampen his normally almost hyperactive mood. He wandered into the portal, trying very very hard not to think about what he was doing, the logic of portals not something he wanted to dwell on very long.
Once in the room, he gave it a cursory once over, the place was a mess, and it was warm. Not what he expected in the least. "What a shithole" he stated with a snort. It also made him smile to see H present, at least someone was around who could make a good solid point when they had to. On the brink of exploring further, maybe looking for some sort of booze stash, Aria's voice made him glance over with a derisive glare. ******** hell he hated women, especially women who thought they could boss men around and it showed on every line of his defiant posture. But there was a subtle challenge in what she asked them to do, he wouldn't meet a threat he couldn't take on, he was certain of /that/.
"You don't need to send Rin with me you know, man's work and all that s**t, have her make a coffee maybe?" he short Rin a chilly glare of her own, seeming to see her assignment with him as some sort of slight on his personal capabilities.
He reminded Tracey it was only the north pole.

Rin could only glance around at the surprisingly warm area they came out at. After a bit of looking around vaguely she started to undo her scarf... that was until the order came. Oh s**t. She was serious? Damn.
She deftly re-tightened her scarf at the order, grumbling as she did. Finally getting a more thorough looking around - enough to notice. THAT GUY. The one who pretend murdered that woman. And LIKED it. Thank god she was getting away from him soon. On orders no less...
Still, Reps words dug at her and she attempted to move closer to try and slap him up the backside of his head.
"Shut up. It's bad enough I'm somehow lumped with you..." She uttered under her breath at him.

Aria turned away from Dr. H long enough to throw a glance towards Rep. "My, my," she began, "You are sounding quite insecure. Are you afraid that she will do a better job than you?" The division leader shrugged. "You are to go in pairs in case one of you gets into trouble. If you feel that your masculinity is being threatened, then perhaps you should turn around and return to Deus and find some man's work. I believe the men's bathroom needs new plumbing. There may be some cars that need fixing. Perhaps a lawn needs to be mowed? No?" Her voice dropped to a warning growl, "You've been given an order, trainee. Once the mission is over, you will report to me. Have I made myself clear?"
