Well I was lucky and didn't experience any game breaking bugs during the main quest line. I was going to put it off until we had a few more patch's but I went ahead and continued to play though the main quest line. Kept thinking I'd have to revert to a past save cuz I would at some point get stuck. So glad that didn't happen. My favorite part was the trip to Sovngarde, I couldn't help but think of Asgard and Valhalla. I was hoping to find a few more important characters eating and drinking, but the ones I did find where pretty cool.
I was very unsure whether or not I should kill off a certain dragon just to make a two people happy. In the end I decided that the chance of him falling back on his old nature was not worth the risk and I removed him from the picture.
So now I just have the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, and the Companions quest's lines to finish and find a few more Daedric artifacts.
"It seems you and I made the same descion. I respected the dragon more than the other two, but... I like dragons in general when they're not trying to kill me."

I love Parthanax so I let him be. But Odahviing is my favourite Dragon in the game. He's spikey, he seems to grin at me, he's wise, he's very useful and watching Dragons do battle is fun.

So is anyone using a strategy guide for skyrim?
Of TES games I have only played Oblivion and Skyrim, and I used the strategy guide all the time for the former. I decided that with skyrim I wanted to be surprised and discover the game and world for myself, so thus far I haven't gotten the guide, but now that I've played the game for a while I'm thinking about getting it.
Anyone?

I've got the collectors edition of the Prima guide. Yes I'm a mega nerd, but it was only 3 dollars more than the regular version. I had to wait for OB, so I ended up getting the guide early and proceeded to read though the whole thing before the game got to me. XD With Skyrim I've only looked in the book when I'm stumped at something, I wanted all the quest lines to be a surprise. Once I've play though the game fully, I'll read the guide cover to cover to see what I may have missed.

Nothing really new to report except that Kai (my wood elf heroine, always wood elf lady named Kai as first character ever since Nerevarine Kai got lost due to losing our xbox) really hates the thalmor. She's taken to filling their big office in Markarth with potatoes. Just because she can.
Also I ran into a mage up near Winterhold trying to ressurect a dead wolf. He wouldn't give Kai the staff because it was shiny that's why she wanted it so he wouldn't hurt other people with it. She backed away after a while.
Fell through a floor fighting these critter crawly things that are A LOT tougher then they look. I mean like whoa! They nearly bit my damn face off.
Companions questline glitched out on me and made Vilkas disappear. But I just glared at game all like this means war and went in, found the problem, judicious application of invisible potions Kai's been stockpiling (among other things) allowed her to zip through Nightshade Refuge and grab the helm without killing most of the Silver Hand thugs - who Kai also hates, by the way - so she could go back and finally Purity triggered, Vilkas and Kai killed Silver Hand thugs. Everyone was happy. The end.

"I've... gotten myself into a position where I may have to start over again, before I can reach level 50. Whenever I encounter a dragon, my Xbox freezes up. This does not happen to my brother who plays on the same Xbox, so it is my save file. I am so close to 50(48 ), this saddens me. Also, pretty much wherever I go I find a dragon(or three, which is where it first froze up my game), so... I can't get anywhere." crying

sad I saw your post on Facebook talking about. Have you tired to load a previous save to see if it freeze's up as well when you fight dragons? Which of the patch's do you have? I would wait until patch 1.3 arrives for the 360 and PS3 before starting over. If the patch doesn't help well man that's just going to suck something hard to have to start over from the beginning again.

"I don't generally keep old save files, unless I know something might mess up and then I only keep it temporarily until I get passed it. I don't have any of the patches. I might try my save again later, and try something else before I start over(even just so I can play until the next patch)."

That's why collecting at least 10 different past saves is a good thing.

Oh trust me there are lots of spell books, some that don't appear until a particular school is a high enough level.

Actually it sort of isn't. A couple friends of mine found out the hard way Skyrim starts erasing all saves (autosaves and manual saves) once they pile up to around 12 or so, maybe under. And each time you switch characters it erases all autosaves. Oh? Yay, I wanna go find all the spells now!

My character is a level 36 or something and I haven't done crap for the main quest beyond meeting the grey beards and retrieving their special horn or w/e but luckily I haven't really run into any major glitches EXCEPT -
In Markarth, the Dwemer city, I did the quest where you have to go to jail and escape with the Forsworn, and for some reason now whenever I accidentally do something against the law, like steal accidentally, when the guards come it replays my options from when they came to arrest me thinking I was some murderer and ect....and I can't go to jail, even when I choose that option or anything else they just start attacking me, but luckily I'm a hoarder when it comes to saves.... (bad experience with glitches in oblivion) so I usually just load the prior save and its fine.... but that wasn't even until last week so I guess I'm one of the few lucky people to not experience any major glitches as of yet...and I haven't downloaded any patches yet but will as soon as I get an ethernet cable. *crosses fingers.* So... yep!

Do what I do when the guards of Markarth come calling (seriously they have a grudge against Kai though the Jarl seems to like her). Run like hell! It helps if you've got a horse, even better if it's Frost cause Frost will charge them before stopping so you can swing up and make your escape.

That's odd seeing as I have a ton of save's more than 10 I know for sure. With auto saves ya the get written over each time, but not regualr hard saves. I still have my save 001 and I'm at save 250+. Then again I don't have all the saves between 001 and 250 I've deleted most of them but still I know I have at least 10 maybe more sitting there waiting for me to jump back if I need to.
lol like a kid in a candy store.
