"Are you lost in your lies?
Do you tell yourself, 'I don't realize.'
Your crusade's a disguise.
Replaced freedom with fear,
You trade money for lives.
I'm aware of what you've done."

▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

Raine laughed as he mentioned the librarians crushing on him and he totally expected her to tell him that wasn't true. Naturally she didn't disappoint him which was one thing Felix could always count on with Raine. Amusing conversation and plenty of teasing from both of them as well as a little playful flirting. Smirking as she finished her statement by asking him if he had ever considered he was cute. "Nope not even for a tiny minuscule second. The many girls that have me hanging out in here are proof of that. You wouldn't believe the amount of girls that have asked me to prom. Besides I am pretty sure old Glados over there winked at me a few times." Glados probably wasn't her name but Felix had never considered asking for a name and her name tag was nowhere to be seen.

Returning Raine's smug grin he waited to see what she had to say. "Besides I have caught you looking at me while you thought I wasn't looking a couple of times while in our little tutor sessions." Felix did a good job of saying the statement with such conviction as if he had really caught her doing just that. Naturally he had not. Still she didn't need to know that he had not. It was more amusing for her to think he had. Especially considering it could lead to him finding out if she had or not. Depending on how hard she tried to deny it. Then again she could just admit it. Wouldn't that have been funny.

She played along with his little joke about Deja vu and Felix couldn't help but smirk as she mentioned Chinese food. "So you admit you thought it a date. I am onto you brownie." Bringing to fingers up to his eyes he gave her an 'I am watching you' motion before giving her a suspicious gaze. Naturally she had sought to shake his hand however he still wasn't sure she wouldn't shock him again. His feet were still very much on the table after all. Shrugging at her congratulations about the promotion he looked up from his book to give her a quizzical look at her mention of it being her that should be avoiding him.

"Oh? I dunno the disease known as Alphitis is pretty bad. According to Narcissa it turns all men into sniveling cowards and all women into ugly hags. It's a terrible disease I checked wikipedia for all the side effects and I must say it is downright astounding some of the things it does. I guess I will just have to take my chances though. Professor McCoy would not like me failing in the slightest. My improved grades have pleased him. He seems to think I am actually paying attention now." He finished the statement with mock amazement as if such a thing was completely foreign to him.

As she took a seat Felix decided to give her his full attention for the moment closing his book. "Another leg huh? That could prove problematic with the whole dancing thing. I guess prom is out for you then? Still at least I don't have to look at two of you. Also see how easy it was to admit what you can do? That would have been nice to know during our first tutor session and it would have only taken you a moment or two." At the mention of prom Felix gave out a light chuckle as she mentioned not giving in to it not going to well considering she already had a dress.

"It sounds like you are doing an admirable job of avoiding it really. I am sure your date will be very pleased. I am going to ask Narcissa personally. You see I aim high and then work my way down. And considering the Headmistress refused I guess Narcissa is the next best thing right? I mean the Headmistress seems to have this foolish idea that it is wrong to date students." Giving Raine a clearly amused expression would show he was joking. He hadn't planned on asking anybody to the prom. Not that he would say no if a girl asked him to the prom and he found them attractive. "Kidding in case you couldn't tell by the way....Frost asked me and I had to turn her down. I felt bad doing it to for the record."

Felix grinned as Raine mentioned having to be useful somehow. "Yes because in no way is throwing bolts of electricity useful in even the tiniest of ways." As she asked about the team upgrade Felix shrugged. "It's nothing I want to jump up and down about. Our first mission we had to save a mutant hater that told us how no good we are as we helped him. Naturally that was the highlight of the entire day. Other than that things have been pretty quiet and boring." Giving another shrug Felix finished the statement with a small smile.

OOC: A blah post, but oh well.

"I see pain, I see need,
I see liars and thieves,
Abused power with greed.
I had hope, I believed,
But I'm beginning to think that I've been deceived.
You will pay for what you've done."

Name: Christian Spencer
Codename: Sidetrack
Team: Omegas
Location: Out of doors
Current: Ruminating...

It took Christian fifteen minutes to get to the infirmary for his check-up and a third of the time for it to be over. Elixir was there to oversee his handiwork and to offer another round of healing, but Christian refused it. What the presiding nurse said, about him being a full week out from complete recovery solidified that decision. He could wait a week to be field ready, couldn’t he? He really hoped so because he was starting to develop a serious case of cabin fever.

That cabin fever was what led him to the gardens. That and the two unfamiliar faces he had the distinct pleasure of meeting. While winding his way from the infirmary to the main floor, he pondered why it was he initiated the conversations with Aria and Quinn. Was it because he just happened to stumble upon the two? Was it him realizing that he nearly paid the ultimate price and was coming to terms with the fact that he had been way too conservative the past few years at the Academy? He couldn’t quite put his finger on the reasons, but that final thought kept coming back around in his head. He was way too conservative and maybe, just maybe it was time for him to start taking a chance every now and again.

His travels took him past the lounge where there was a virtual assembly of both Alphas and Omegas. Christian didn’t really wish to join in the festivities at all, opting to just mosey along his way. As he thought while he walked, he knew his mood had soured slightly and didn’t wish to bring everyone else down to his level; there was no need for that. If anyone had caught a glimpse of him passing by or had said anything to him to catch his attention, he was oblivious to it. The initial mental war that flared up when he was laying upon the hospital bed a month ago began roaring back to life. What he needed was more time to think.

His feet had expectedly taken him back to the outdoors again, this time to a small patio overlooking the small lake that was situated on this seemingly massive property. His eyes were sharp enough to see the people at the water’s edge, but not sharp enough to tell exactly who it was that was there. Either way, his eyes focused beyond the group of people there to the treeline at the far side of the lake. Just staring ahead, Christian fell prey to his thoughts.

The same thing kept rolling around in his mind; was he cut out for this lifestyle? He didn’t quite know. He was beginning to feel like a liability to his team with how often it was he was either injured or needed bailing out. His expression hardened slightly when he began to mentally rattle off the list since he’d gotten the call-up himself. His first real field mission, in Limbo, nearly cost him his left hand. Surprisingly, he had Isabella to thank for saving that appendage. Then, the excursion on Catalina, he and three others were cornered by a group of thugs. And of course, Narcissa had to come in like a house of fire to pull his fat out of the fryer so he didn’t get knifed. And now… this.

Christian didn’t quite realize it, but he was absent-mindedly fidgeting with his cell phone. When it did finally hit him, he began wrestling with the idea of calling home and having his parents taking him away from this place. Sure, he had been here for a rather long time out on the East Coast, but he was growing more homesick as the months ticked by. He missed traipsing around the wilds that surrounded his house and he even missed his sister’s constant badgering. Even though they were twins, she never let him forget the fact that she was older… by two minutes. Still though, he just sat there staring off into space, debating on all of this. And something was keeping him from outright making this decision, about whether he should stay at the Academy or go back home, something he could not put his finger on.

Alpha: Heading inside to the cafeteria for food...The roommates stomach demands it..

User ImageLillian gave a genuine smile when Alex informed her that she didn't need to apologize. That was a relief it seemed her room mate had no interest in talking at the time. Having a bad relationship with ones roommate would make things more complicated. Seriously who wants to share a room with someone they didn't get along with. That kind of situation would basically be a time bomb waiting to blow. But so far that wouldn't be something that would have to be worried about.

Lillian laughed lightly as Alex apologized for her stomach growling. The girl even went so far as to cover her abdomen like it would hide it. "Of course you can't if you don't eat it's one's bodies reaction to remind one to eat." Lillian then laughed lightly at herself at that. "Yeah I sometimes slip into a more analytical form of speech."

It was then her mind registered that Alex asked if she wanted food. Lillian took that as a sign that her roommate wanted to hang out and possibly get to know one another. "Sure I could go for some food. And you don't have to be so timid. I am not giving off an intimidating presence am I?" Lillian asked looking down her own form as if it would answer the question for her. She even pulled on the bottom of the shirt like one would if looking for a stain or something on their shirt. Sometimes one wouldn't think she was the super genius she was classified to be. Granted Lillian really didn't see herself as an intimidating person. Cissa sure, herself with Cissa's personality after absorbing the omega leaders powers quite probable, currently not so much.

"Well lets go get that food before your stomach revolts thanks to the lack of sustenance." Lillian said heading toward the door closest to where they were.

Inside the mansion the buzz about prom was abundant, from posters advertising to people around discussing from dates to what they would wear. Lillian wasn't sure if she would attend the prom. Given her powers she wasn't going to be asked to go. But Lillian did enjoy dancing and if she wasn't careful Rogue would likely appear with some revealing dress for her to wear. Rogue did mean well as it was all really only something to help Lillian to be more comfortable in her own skin as it were. Who knows the team leads might make the night a mandatory thing. If she were still an Omega and Cissa was made to go then there was a chance the blonde would make the rest of her team go just because she had to go. She could even see Bella saying something like she would really enjoy to see any and all Alpha's there.

Speaking of her new team lead, Lillian really hadn't seen Isabella much at all over the last month. Sure when she was helping in the infirmary the sound manipulator could be seen keeping others company as they recuperated.

Once they entered the Cafeteria there was always quick snack like items laid out in there. Lillian didn't feel like cooking or waiting for something to be prepared. It wasn't empty, not to surprising especially given the whole no leaving the grounds thing. But she saw Cissa sitting at her usual table with Aren. Before she started to walk over she turned to her roommate Alex. "Go grab some food I will meet you in a second." With that Lillian turned to walk over to Cissa and Aren though when she turned back Roland was now also over by Cissa. Others around her this time didn't stop her from going over.

Lillian strode over to the table Cissa and the others were at. Walking around behind Cissa and quickly kissed her on the cheek. She knew the omega leader had more then enough energy to spare that was stolen with the quick peck on the cheek. Never mind that Lillian was one of the very very few that could get away with that. "Oh and nice going your lucky to have Kerri on your arm." With that quick word to Roland, a wink to Cissa, and a friendly smile to Aren. She walked off towards the trays that held different snack like foods. Her hair color was already beginning and her skin was holding a glow that hadn't been there before. Sure the kiss was a sneaky way to put the nagging feeling to rest, though she would still go talk to her later when others didn't need or want her attention as much.

After snagging a couple oranges Lillian went to go meet back up with Alex. Sure now that she absorbed Cissa's power the familiar energy could easily sustain her but the oranges looked to good to pass up.

User ImagexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxOmega - Cafeteria

The native's eyes rolled at her dramatic retort about torture; were he not one to be so cavalier, he might have taken her seriously. Instead, a wry smile touched his lips, painting his eyes with humor that only he could find with the icy inflections of her voice. Though, a frown did pull at his mouth for a moment, and his head tilted to the side with a growing curiosity. “What's E-bay again?” He asked, drawing out the internet bidding site to get a proper taste of the word.

Really, he should have known better than to ask her; Cissa usually gave an obscure, ludicrous answer to anything regarding the culture he'd not been apart of as a child.

While she had tried to ignore the shiver, quell it to the point that he wouldn't notice, Aren recognized the motion for what it was, eliciting another easy grin from him. She'd never admit it, but he was slowly beginning to get to her. Quickly, the blond turned the conversation to revolve around their mentors, retorting that Scooter had to be doing something right, considering his history with some of the women his age. The size shifter wrinkled his nose in something akin to disgust, shaking his head free of the mental images that irrevocably ruined his imagination. Those were things that would etch themselves into the wall of his skull for all time, unfortunately.

Besides, one of them is made of more plastic than a girl's doll.” For the native, that wasn't at all attractive. Makeup was fine, paint was fine. Surgical implants were not.

Without even thinking about it, Aren drew closer to the sun goddess, breathing in the scent of her liquid gold hair. As always, it was enough to set him on edge, but never enough that she'd know how profoundly she affected him. To do so, was to lose the game, and he liked playing it far too much. She teased him, stating she was curious as to what was so great about him... stating wryly that he was partial to blonds. “Telepaths like having control over people. As far as I've seen, Scott hands over his balls as an accessory to their purse as soon as he's able to.” He admonished, banishing any other option from existence in his mind. “I'd attribute his qualities to that, rather than his attraction to light hair. After all...” He flashed a set of pearly white teeth to her with the next, ”He also likes gingers.” If he knew her half as well as he prided himself to, then that would be enough to let the subject lie.

Always intent on the slow seduction of Narcissa Stone, Aren whispered just to her that he'd not be one to disappoint, were she to give him a chance. And, as per usual, Cissa responded adequately, without missing a beat. Her remark was one on his mutation, which left the man grinning ear to ear, reaching his chocolate eyes enough to melt them. “That, I can safely say, has never happened. So no worries. But if you wanted to be sure, you're always welcome to have a test drive.” She changed the focal point of their conversation again, and Aren idly conjured the image of conversational roulette with Narcissa, seeing as they never tended to stay fixated on one subject for longer than three minutes. One thing was for sure – it was never dull when the Omega leader was about.

Prom was next on the list, and he suggested that some shifter take her place in organizing the event – a suggestion that had merit with the blond. “I know it's a good idea,” Aren said almost balefully, “Most of the ones I have are decent, even if you shoot them down before I can even get warmed up.

Or what she wants.” He teased, repressing the urge to voice that he believe Cissa often was just smooth at making it look like it'd been her headstrong idea. Granted, following Emma's orders would likely get them no where, considering was likely to change her mind fifteen minutes after she'd made the decision.

Aren brushed off the piece of meat comment with a casual shrug of his shoulders, not at all effected by words that were meant to sting just a bit. “They don't mean anything by it. It's not like too many of them have just outright asked me to prom..” Though, it brought back the girl who had done so just before he'd met up with Narcissa... “They all just want a piece of the good looks and charming company that I provide – even if you don't concur with them.” The native added, a lopsided grin painting his features. Honestly, if he thought hard on it – not something he was inclined to do – he may have found it flattering.

A laugh slid out of his chest with ease as Cissa uttered the word 'old;' everything else was lost on the Native American. A finger caught one of the gold tresses, finding it silk against his skin. “Maybe I like my women older.” He whispered against her ear, his eyes alight with humor once again. “My na'a always told me that women were like a fine wine...

Halfheartedly, the young Omega accused Narcissa of scaring away his fan club, prodding for a reaction that only he could get from her most days. And as usual, she didn't disappoint. “You're so cute when you snort.” He teased, ignoring the syphilis comment for a moment. “Though, if you'd been paying attention, the only Alpha I've seen of late would be Aurelie, because Oz Boy appears to like her, however muted his emotions are.” A blond he wasn't afraid of.. how many jokes had he made out of that? The fact that he'd gone out of his way a few times to see her in the infirmary said something about the Slovene. “And it'd just be bad form of a friend to go after the girl that he likes.” Even if Aren usually played up the cad card, he did have a sense of loyalty about him. And that meant, girls Dom liked, even if he hadn't admitted it yet, were not up for him to pursue.
And for the record, you don't get it by just hanging out with one.” He added dryly, knowing that inevitably it was where Cissa would go next. The back of his mind had already played it out: 'She breathed on you. It's a mutant form of Syphilis, easily contractible.'

Ki'somma.” Aren started with a chuckle, a feather light touch to her chin to bring her gaze back to him. A part of him was tempted to still her tapping foot with his own, which only brought forth another idea to tease his leader. “Is that an invitation to play footsie?” He asked, repressing his own laughter, knowing he'd likely get daggers shot at from her gaze.

He hadn't expected an honest answer from her when he asked who she was doing this weekend, so her answer only provided him with more amusement. Some people literally thought she was a demon from the hottest pits of Hell – Aren had yet to see any actual indication that the rumors were true. “Three boys and a girl.” A mock frown formed on his face, and once again he struggled to be serious. “They seem a bit young for you... but I'll gladly take their place.” Aren stated matter-of-factually.

Aren didn't miss the fact that she frowned at Dom's name; no one was happy with the fact that he was on probation for failing gym, but he'd eventually be back on the team... Which would make Aren's life much more interesting. Dom, simply put, had to be the funniest guy on the Omegas, even if most didn't understand his wry sense of humor. “I would have figured you wanted the privacy... but I'd already mentioned to you that we should infiltrate Scooter's office.” He said crossly, knowing who's idea it had been originally.

And I wouldn't settle for by the pool when we could be in it. Though... I feel like I missed our wedding, can I get a repeat? I didn't even comment on how pretty your dress would look on the floor.

User ImageHis stomach growled, reminding him well of his lack of sustenance; it'd been perfect timing for Cissa to mention lunch, and they made their way to the cafeteria, with the promise of fudge cakes and stuffed crust pizza. She took his arm, though tried hard to keep an indifferent pout on her face, and he only laughed soft enough that she might not hear it.

For someone who tried so hard to put up a front, most of her walls crumbled in his company.

***

Once seated, Aren slid the chocolates over to Narcissa, who stared at it for a moment, as though she were contemplating something of great import – he didn't pretend to know what it was. Rather, he was content to allow her the time to finish the thoughts, and start on consuming the chocolate fudge icing before the rest of the cake.

For once, he'd been paying more attention to the girl that had been brave enough to come up to the table, instead of focusing on Cissa's reaction. His eyes sidled over to her, noting the mirthless grin so that he might comment on it once the girl was gone. He promised her one dance, and then turned to face his favorite Omega girl. “I don't think you find my fans near as amusing as I do.” Actually with the look she'd given the girl, Aren would guess that she'd like to use them for target practice.

She said she'd make an appearance, and Aren's brows lifted. “I didn't think it'd be your thing. Prom that is.” Especially since she had made it quite lucid what she thought of it all. “But if it's a mandatory appearance, are you really doing what you want?” The size shifter asked, a small smile curving his lips.

Narcissa rolled her eyes when he said that he'd disappoint a few people if he didn't attend. “Yeah.. I suppose you're right.” Aren agreed, knowing well that he might see a few downtrodden faces once he officially had a date. “But if I dance with a few it might make it up to them. And as I've proven with you, I'm not heavy on my feet.” He assumed that description was okay, being that people who danced well were 'light on their feet.' But being from a mountainous region, living mostly off the land didn't make for the best phrases.

I'm going to borrow one of Dom's... we're about the same size... and I won't get a corsage until I know what color my date is wearing. Considering I've yet to ask someone as it only dawned on me today that prom was this weekend..” But she offered to help with the suit problem too, and Aren grinned. “You're so sweet, even if you're calling my would-be date a wretch.” He said, taking another bite of his pizza. “And, for the record, I have someone in mind, considering I don't think you'd want to be a high schooler's date to this sort of thing, especially seeing as I'll probably stay to the end.

Unlike a lot of the students, Aren had gone to a prom. Technically speaking, he had already graduated – the course curriculum was different on the reservation than what it was here, so he'd fallen just one credit short of having a high school diploma acceptable for the college courses at Frontier. His had been small, not at all the traditional sort of thing, as they played rock music from the eighties (stuff their parents had liked) and no one had glitter on their face, hair... The girls had worn dresses they'd made, and Aren had worn a pair of pants that his father had left behind. His date, had been one of his best friends – Naki, his would-have-been girlfriend had he stayed on the reservation, wouldn't give him the time of day then.

Memories of that night flooded him then, bring a warm glow to his face. Most days, he missed his home, even if he wasn't vocal about it. Montana called to him, his people called to him, the way a whippoorwill did to the dusk. “Anyways... once I ask her, then I'll try on Dom's suit, to see if it fits... that way I don't waste your time.

They didn't get any further in their conversation, as Roland made his way to their table, and Aren found a smile for the crazy man. He'd apparently asked Kerri, and he was bold enough to ask Cissa for aid in getting a suit. Granted, he'd have to be well dressed, if Narcissa had anything to say about it – Roland was a team member, and Kerri was her best friend. And only the best were given to those that were her own. “Looks like you'll need that tailor even without me.” Aren said lightly, already assuming that she'd do as he'd requested.

The Omega's Alpha's very own copycat snuck up to plant a kiss onto Cissa's cheek, and Aren couldn't help himself. “FYI, she's not Miley Cyrus.” He said, though Lillian wouldn't be likely to hear it, she had really just come to get Narcissa's power and skitter away.

His plate now empty, Aren stood, stretching before pushing his chair in. “I'd better go snag my own date... so I'll leave you two be for now. See you later Ki'somma. Maybe I'll catch a kiss from you later too.” He winked then, though whether or not he was serious on that intent was anyone's guess – including himself.

* * *

The only time he ever ran into Raine outside of the field or Catalina had been in the library, so it was the first place he'd check. And luckily, she was in plain sight when he got there. Granted with another guy, who he'd not yet met officially, but knew bore the black and red colors of the Omega's and that his name was Felix. Seemingly without a care in the world, Aren sauntered over to the pair, the usual air of confidence manifesting around the native.

He only caught the tail end of what Felix was saying; the conversation must have been about the events that had transpired a month ago. “Don't worry,” Aren interjected. “It's never likely to stay that way for long.” Unfortunately, because the times when it was 'interesting' often made him abandon his views on maintaining peace in order to survive. “We breed trouble as much as mutants, apparently.

His eyes shifted to Raine then, his smile broadening then. “Hey, I don't want to put you on the spot, but I never did take you up on your offer for more waffles, or for the help in my classes.” He started smoothly, going for a look that just less than smoldering. “So I was wondering if I could make it up to you by taking you to the prom this weekend? That is, if you don't already have a date.

There. It was asked. Granted in front of an audience... but all the same, on the table for her to decide.

OMEGA: Academy Weight room:......

User ImageThe girl before him really could stick to something when she wanted. He knew she was only doing it to bug him because she knew it would. He really didn't hate any animal. No humans be them mutant or human variety were much more likely to hold his ire. There were a few out there he very much could consider it hate. Those few he would actually enjoy gutting and allowing them to hold their own entrails as they died. Gideon had never taken pleasure in ending a life. Nope before it was simply his mission there was no emotion to be had. It was his task so he completed his task that was it for him.

He didn't need to comment he knew enough that she was simply messing with him on that comment. When she spoke again after his comment about being more bestial then she could probably ever be. "It's different to transform and take on those feelings from the animal. It's different when they are souly yours and not something influenced from an animal." He said as that was how he truly felt. Sure she would know what it was like from experienced while transformed. Gideon on the other had had them personally from his own being. "Well you were never one of the that woman's shifters she sent to me or sent me after." On occasion shifters were sent against Gideon when they were training him as a test. They wanted to see how he would do. Then as well occasionally he was sent after a shifter for what ever reason Madame Hydra decided.

He even remembered one particular shifter who he was sent after. He was told to stalk and toy with the shifter. Over a week Gideon was to track him down and subdue him. But each time his was told to then walk away he was under no circumstance to kill the shifter. On the final day of the week he remembered after subduing the shifter he was ordered to bring the shifter back in while making sure to leave a scar. So he did just that he left three parallel slash marks on the mans face, never mind the various other wounds he suffered over the week. Gideon assumes it was so that he could be sent back to the other shifters to start rumors about X-20 the secret beast none before had been allowed to see and live. It probably left the threat of being sent to X-20 and aided to him being talked about in much the same one would the bogey man.

After his comment about strength only really being valued in the wild for a leader, Kat equated life as it was now to the wild. In a sense that was true but it took more then strength in this particular wild. If it didn't then why hadn't Juggernaut taken over the world. "Yes but in this wild of mutants and non mutants, it takes more then strength to win every battle. Intelligence goes a very long way. That's why a good portion of training I am sure you received as well was on infiltration and information retrieval." All Gideon could say to the comment about the villages in Romania that had seasons for mutant hunting. "And I am sure there are places out there where the opposite is true. The world was a messed up place long before mutants even showed on the radar. All it takes is practically nothing for one group to hate another. History is littered with stories about it."

He heard her nails finally turn back to that of a normal human. Gideon never smelled this particular thing on anyone this Alpha scent. Then again it was probably only something that one registered when they viewed another as their better. Gideon hadn't ever thought of someone as his physical better. Call it being cocky or what ever he was trained and created to not think that. Sure he knew people were physically stronger then he was, that didn't mean he feared them or thought that that he stood no chance against them. Nope things that that just gave him another challenge. "But not the point. The point is if one takes time to think a stronger opponent can be taken down. All it takes is finding a weakness and exploiting it. Be it by numbers or using ones surroundings. You can consider me an Alpha if you wish I can't stop you."

She had grown silent till his question about how bad her return would be wanted. Turned out it would be pretty bad. So he listened to her talk about how she was to potentially become the next Madame Hydra. That would mean that she was more sought after by them then even he had been. But there were still factors that would have to be weighed in that.

Sure the girl before him was small in comparison to him. But at the present moment she looked about as small as the kitten whose form she had been in earlier.

"That maybe. But if she wanted to make sure none of that information was obtained she would should of attacked already. Particularly right after mall thing. This place was in chaos, unprepared. It would of been a simple matter then to swoop in and take what they wanted. Now a month as passed. She knows of the powerful telepaths that reside in this place. No offense but if they wanted all the information in your head they could of easily had it by now. Then it could of been given to SHIELD in exchange for leverage or to be over looked in this whole mutant registration mess. Any use you hold to them now is to find out how much if any of that information was obtained." He said truthfully from a strategic stand point given what resources Xavier's had to prevent information leak immediate action would of been best.

"Never mind any major move on Hydra's part to come in here would also be met with opposition from SHIELD before long. Not because SHIELD and the X Men are allies, so far they are certainly not enemies. Hydra on the other hand are SHIELDS enemy. Add in the muscle SHIELD has stationed really not that far in the grand scheme of things would certainly have to weigh heavily on the thoughts to attacking here." He understood her worry. But in all likely hood if any move was made to retrieve her, likely it would be done by sending some of her former shifter pack to retrieve her. Something small so as to draw less attention. After all that is one connection Gideon was certain that would have any draw back to them. Unlike Gideon who never had any such connection or fond memory there. Between beatings and such Kat was certain to have some fond ones of the other shifters. "I know words can't take your worry away. It will always linger there in the back of your mind. Even I worry about it. Why do you think I didn't just kill you back there. I had to make sure that if you were sent to get me back there wasn't more near by just encase."

Gideon folded his arms still leaning against the wall. He shook his head so the hair wasn't in his face. Blue eyes continued to look over the girl before him. "About your earlier statement about not knowing how to do this. The easiest way to is make friends here. Talk to your team your team leader. That's part of the point of the teams is to give you people you can ask for help when you need. Think of the team as a new pack for yourself. Isabella your team leader is a good at listening and helping." He knew Kat had been place on the Alpha's even though he was now an Omega himself. Sure Gideon didn't make friends of many here or even talk to them much. Unlike Kat Gideon didn't have the pack mentality he was the lone wolf as it went.

---------------------¦A heavy sigh would heave from Quinn's chest, disappointed that her attempt had failed. She'd wave her hand in the air, shoulders slumping forward slightly, "It was supposed to be a surprise. My scare tactics aren't exactly up to par.." she trailed off with a slight flourish, pushing herself off the wall she'd leaned up against in order to trapeze onto her bed. Quinn's lithe form would twirl once upon the sheets, the length of her beige dress flowing around her, before easily plopping down upon the mattress. She didn't seem to particularly care that she'd left her boots on while sitting on the bed, it was hers anyway. This time it would be more permanent, which also left for more decorative possibilities. Quinn's grey eyes would trace along the corners of the room she now shared with Aria. Naturally, it was still rather empty since they were only just settling in, and new dorms were entitled to a certain level of bland.

"Yes, yes- I knew.." Quinn admitted with a bob of her head, "Emma spilled the beans to me. The secret woulda' been cooler though," Quinn tapped the side of her nose as she spoke, "if I were a tad bit more sneaky." A chuckle would follow her new motion at the word tad, which consisted of her index and middle finger pinching together tightly as she held the sign close to her cheek.

Quinn would then listen as Aria commented on how she'd have no more worries about someone hacking into her computer. The brunette would shake her head, confirming the notion. In addition to touching other people, she had a bit of a quirk when it came to touching other people's things as well. Items that belonged to her, she was able to be careless enough with. If she broke something, it broke - that much Quinn was used to. But, she wasn't too keen on the idea of accidentally destroying another friend's property. If there was no reason for the acid manipulator to touch anything or anyone, then she wouldn't. It was as simple as that, though she did put a lot of effort into making it less of an awkward and timid show. Freezing up, stuttering or jerking away when she accidentally hit something wasn't exactly considered to be smooth. It was clutzy, and Quinn was truly far from being an actual clutz.

"Exactly. Plus, who needs to hack into someone elses computer when they've got their own?" she jabbed her thumb in the direction of the desk near her own bed. On the chair was a larger messenger back which held the plainest laptop in the world, "It's kind of dinky, but I never need it for much." Quinn would explain as she leaned over the edge of her bed, reaching an arm underneath the bedskirt so she could pull out her satchel and plop it into her lap. As per usual, she had to check and make sure that her cell phone, communit and iPod were still in their places, "Speaking of party.. Everyone's talking about Prom again.." Quinn would scoff softly, her voice laced with a bit of an exasperated grumble. ¦

"Alrighty then, catch you later." Daylia said as Dorian went his own way. She shrugged as she moved off towards the cafeteria, food was really the only thing keeping her from sneaking back to her dorm room. Blue gray orbs swept over the cafeteria taking note of those who were already there. She spotted Narcissa with Aren and Roland, all team mates to her. She couldn’t help but give Roland a second look before shrugging and hopping in like for food.

Pizza, two things of lemon jello, a chocolate chip cookie, and a bottle of orange juice. It was a wonder that Daylia didn’t weigh more than what she did. All she ever had a taste for was junk food, and more than half the time she gave into that desire. There had been two girls in front of her giggling and making mentions of going to prom. One even said that prom might be ‘the night’. Daylia had recognized them from a few of her classes, and their comments caused the red head to roll her eyes.
She whispered to herself.

What was it with prom that turned even the best behaved girls into whores? There was nothing special about it, at least not that Daylia could see, so why make that ‘the night’, not that Daylia felt the need to wait for a special moment for something like that, but a lot of girls did. As she stepped out of line she shook her head, once again looking around the cafeteria, wondering if it would be wise to sit with the sun goddess. Daylia couldn’t see anything wrong with it, but then again that was her point of view, not Narcissas.

She swiveled on her heels and headed towards an empty table, plopping her try down with a loud thud before pulling out her chair and taking a seat. She picked up her slice of pizza and watched the grease drip off of it. Her lips pressed into a thin like as she picked up a napkin and pressed it gently on the pizza to soak up some of the grease. She watched as the napkin turned orange before discarding it on her tray. Feeling satisfied with the grease removal she took a bite, once again allowing her eyes to wander.

Dorian continued to just sit where he was and observe, as overtly as possible. The only thing he could do to keep people from noticing and feeling him watch them was to not do so directly. He carefully reached into his Jacket and pulled out his phone and played with the apps, mostly the one he could use for taking quick notes. Watching using only his peripherals, and avoiding long or too occasional glances. It was a few minutes of typing that a girl with an obviously peculiar skin tone in of green (Farren), stumbled upon him and asked the general state of being. " It goes pretty well.". He didn't skip a beat. As surprising as her skin tone was, after seeing two dark blue fuzzies, He was a tad more adjusted. If anything the living hair artist (Orchid), was far more difficult to avoid staring at. Meanwhile the The girl of green went off to read the news. before asking to the general populace what they could do adding a few other remarks.

It was all information he needed to process. The worlds view on Mutants was always either vague or somewhat ignored. Meta-humans in general seemed to be everywhere now a days, so he left it at ignorance of the masses. Back to reality, a boy asked the modeling redhead out to the prom, a yes was given and an awkward sort of body language and back and forth ensued. Giving Dorian himself more then enough of a profile of who was here and how they were like. Conversations were starting up everywhere int his single area. It was a good choice to come here, since he wanted to get to know people, in his own covert way atleast. The past event of what happened at the mall wasn't news to him. Details however were abit obscure to him. Thanks to a young girl (Bianca) a few other blanks were being filled in. The Students around here spread rumors alot, this was about the first source he could tell was actually there and therefore credible. It made his stomach turn just abit to know what he was getting into, what his half sister was already gotten into.

Questions ran through his head that he had to sort through. He'd leave them for another time, as he continued with his observations. switching out his notepad to play angry birds.

Aria scoffed as her friend spoke, "Please, I doubt you could scare a fly." She looked the girl up and down and shook her head. "I mean, if it knew what you could do... maybe..." She smiled and laughed before pushing herself against her bed and looked about the few boxes brought up from her old room. She stood up and picked out one, pulling out the large blanket inside of it and smiling. This was the bedspread her mother bought her when she left for here. Doctor Who. She began going about putting it on her bed, a picture of the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) along with his many companions and enemies spread about the comfortable spread.

"So you figured you could hide it, hmm?" She raised a brow at Quinn, "You know what we do with secret keepers here?" She paused for a moment before turning her back on the other girl as she surveyed her boxes, "We don't share our cookies!" She pulled out a small tin she usually kept hidden and opened it. The tin was beat up, but inside laid about a dozen cookies her mother baked and sent out. She smiled and picked one up, sending it flying (gently... mostly...) to her friend. Chocolate chip cookies. Yum.

Aria let out a groan as Quinn brought up prom. "Oh please." She hadn't attended her own prom, so why would she attend this one? Wait, were they being forced to go? She let out a sigh, she hadn't been asked to prom in her senior year of high school. This may have had something to do with the fact that the entire male student body, and a portion of the male teachers, were all terrified of her. Not because she was a mutant, but because she had beaten the s**t out of them at one point or another or they had watched her do it to someone thrice her size. "Are you going?" She sat back down, bringing one of the cookies to her lips and taking a bite. She always loved her moms cookies. Not really because they were amazing, but because she knew her mom made them especially for her and made them from scratch. None of that Betty Crocker s**t that the other moms used.

That made her momentarily think about her poor mom. She had left the woman to tend to herself in such a grimy city. She had tried talking her mom into moving here with her, but her mom wasn't too keen on trying to find a new job and all of that stuff. She promised to be safe, and keep the tazer Aria bought her with her twenty four seven. Of course the woman would probably never use the thing, but if the need arises she hoped her mom would think to use it.

Bella swallowed a modicum of amusement when Leonardo jumped slightly at the sound of her voice. He would be correct, in that she had indeed deliberately muffled the sounds of her arrival…Though she had long since learned that simply wrapping herself in silence wasn’t enough. She duplicated the sounds around her, so that an enemy with super human hearing couldn’t pick out a null area and target her just as easily as if he’d seen her. It became second nature at times… Though whether she was feeling playful or not was up for debate.

Her expression smoothed into something terribly apologetic when Leo drew a deep breath… She’d slipped up in mentioning SHIELD. Where was her head? Thankfully, Tara made no mention of it—Didn’t even acknowledge it. Perhaps that was a sign…It wasn’t long that skeletons remained in closets around here. Sooner or later the rest of the team, the rest of the school would find out about his prior affiliations… But it had been off color of her to bring it up in front of someone else, even if she’d been trying to make him feel better… It had been thoughtless.

Thoughtless. Is that was she was now? She’d thought that even if she was failing at leading the Alpha’s that at the very least… She would have retained her skills at comforting someone. Understanding the feelings of those around her used to be something she could pride herself on… And now she was constantly second guessing, ever in the dark.

~I’m sorry.~, carried regretfully through the sound waves, for Leonardo’s ears alone. It was a mere whisper…Later on he may actually wonder if she’d actually even said it, or he’d been imaging things. Though he was a smart boy… He should be able to put two and two together.

Isabella should have told her team how she felt about the mall weeks ago…When it had first happened. They’d given it their all… And she’d been unconscious for most of the fight. Sleeping, while they risked everything. And afterwards… afterwards, she hadn’t held a meeting about it…Hadn’t addressed it…Too disgusted with herself to talk about it outside of her piss poor field report. ~So…So sorry...~

Leo thanked them, and she smiled…Listening to Tara when she spoke. Her smile just… Wasn’t as bright as it usually was. It didn’t touch her eyes, didn’t dazzle in the particular way she employed, that made most around her feel comfortable enough to befriend her. “Don’t worry about a date. Tara’s right… It’ll be just like fish in a barrel…”

No sooner had she spoken that than Tara offered herself up, and Bella nodded in agreement… “You two would be cute together… Assuming one of you doesn’t wear royal purple, and the other day glow yellow…Then I may have to disagree…But even then…Barney and a Banana’s in Pajama’s might be a good look for you—”

Bella paused and slipped to her feet then, brushing her backside off as she did so. It was doubtful that they would catch her jests about childhood cartoons… “—And on that note, I’m officially a third wheel. If either of you find you need me later on…Just…”

“Call.”
, she finished with a dainty shrug of her shoulders, slipping away before the notion could be corrected.

The longer she remained among her Alpha’s lately…The more inadequate she felt.

It hurt, to fail at something she tried to do so well…

She moved back towards the mansion slowly, her arms crossing slowly over her chest as a soft breeze blew…Chilled. It was times like this that she missed Evelyn…Her best friend and former leader of the Alpha’s would have known exactly what to do. Would have known exactly what to say to everyone to smooth things over and boost their spirits…How could she raise theirs, when her own was so low—It felt like it was underground.

Eventually she came upon the porch—And would have passed Christian with a simple nod if the look on his face hadn’t caught her eye. It only stopped her because it reminded her of the same one she’d worn a few years ago… When it had been revealed to her that her birth was a pet project of Nathaniel Essex… That her father had faked his own death to impregnate more women, and try to create an army of his own blood under his bosses command.

He’d been paid to pretend to love her mother—To pretend to love her. Paid, to bring her mutation free by traumatizing her past what a normal teen should go through…He’d faked his own death in the marketplace… And for years she’d believed that he’d died there—Bled out, while protecting her and her mother.

Funny how things turned out…How wrong she’d been. How naïve. But the truth always came free, and once she discovered it…She’d thought herself an experiment, and a more of a freak than a simple mutant could be… And in all the chaos, the only thing she’d wanted, was her mother. Who loved her unconditionally, despite her faults and genetic markers… All she’d wanted was home. “Maybe you should take some time off…You’ve been through more than any one person should.”

She didn’t feel the need to bring up how many close calls she’d had over the years… It wasn’t necessary. His pain was his own…There was no sense comparing it. How could she tell someone else how to feel?

“I’m sure Emma could arrange it… A plane ticket home isn’t exactly out of the Academy’s budget plan.”

She remained still by the steps, her eyes a particular shade of green that was like stained glass glittering as the sun hit it…They focused on the non-existent point he seemed to be intent on…Silent, except for the sound of the wind rustling the trees. “She’ll understand if you decide the ticket is one way…”

Though Bella couldn’t say the same thing for his team leader. Knowing the angry blond, she might drag him right back by the ear. Her eyes flickered away, back towards Leo and Tara for a moment…Should she really give this another try, after nearly blowing it with someone on her own team? Omega problems weren’t something that she was required to handle… But she hated to watch others suffer.

“I am sorry… That I used my ability on you. I wouldn’t have…Except that you looked like you needed some sleep without…Dreams.”

User ImageShe rolled her eyes heavenward when he asked what E-Bay was…And she sighed at his inadequate knowledge of the world outside the reservation. If he weren’t so earnest about it, she would have found it annoying. But of course, she had her own ways of educating him…Which was usually a ridiculous, seriously skewed version of what she thought things to be… Not what they actually were, sad to say. “E-Bay is an online ordering…Bidding system, that sells armaments and weapons of mass destruction for a fair price to sadists and children.”

Mostly children.

When he commented on Emma’s outrageous level of plasticity she knew that her clever game of avoidance and omissions smoothly ran interference between herself and the native. Though while it served well to keep their words on track with the rest of the pedantic and honest world…Her witty repartee couldn’t force Aren to keep his distance… Which was almost as bad. But just as he refused to let it show, she was twice as stalwart—Expression a constant controlled mask that only broke when it contorted into pure disgust at the word ‘Ginger’.

It was common knowledge that Narcissa had a staunch vendetta against the pale, freckled, and soulless. This was not to be confused with Daywalkers—Which was the level of red head her dearest friend rest at. She actually took offense to someone else calling Kerrigan a Ginger…Unless she was the one doing the calling. “Everyone is entitled to their mistakes…Even Scooter. His Ginger-fetish is one of them he has since corrected.”

He whispered in her ear, and she remained still…Eyes holding the emotional capacity of a block of ice… They could express nothing else, couldn’t betray the shiver that went silently down her spine. Just as he couldn’t admit defeat…Neither could she. But more than that, she was his leader… And her Omega’s, despite popular belief, were not her playthings. It was deeply ingrained into her to protect them…Even if it meant protecting them from herself.

She shook her head when he offered her a test drive, a terse laugh escaping her cherry glossed lips...As if they weren’t talking about, what they were clearly talking about. “Yes…I would bloody indeed like to test drive the potential to be impaled and die…No thanks.”

Her tongue stuck out at him when Aren mentioned her shooting down his ideas…For the most part, it was nothing personal. It was…Part of what was expected of her. She was headstrong, rude, and always the one to pull the punches. He was quite right in thinking that she was just smooth enough to make Emma’s ideas look like her own…It had happened on more than one occasion.

“They’re all binty-dolts…No individual should giggle that high pitched… And bloody hell, not in packs…It’s giving me a bloody migraine..”, Narcissa complained, frowning when he laughed at her use of the word old…He knew she hated the aging process, for different reasons than one might think. He whispered against her again, and she stilled unnaturally. Refusing to accept what he’d meant by comparing her to fine wine, she laughed smoothly… “Yes. They’re good going down—But hell the morning after.”

Her eyes rolled again when he noted that if she’d been paying attention, that she’d have noticed he’d been hanging around some mopey tart…”As if I don’t have better things to do than to monitor your comings and goings…And don’t act like you’re saint red skin. God only knows what you do in your spare time.”

“On second thought…I think he deliberately avoids your spare time.”
, it was irrelevant whether Aren believed in God or not…Whether she believed or not… It was simply a matter of fact that she didn’t believe him to be the chaste in the slightest. He flirted with everything that moved—Almost as naturally as some breathed. Without thought. It didn’t help that he had the good looks and roguish attitude to go with it…If he wasn’t getting any play—That was really his own fault.

She felt his fingertips under her chin, turning her eyes back towards him as she remained silent—Her foot tapping in agitation that was slowly fading at his chuckle… He toyed with the ends of her hair, as if he had the right to...But it was equally her folly for not taking several paces back. He was correct in thinking that she would glare, and glare she did. If he were anyone else, she’d have smacked his hand away and turned up the heat… “Not unless you want to be called stumpy, when I burn your foot off.”

“Miss Cyrus is your age—And One of the Jonas Brothers is older than I am. You need to watch more trashy telly.”
, she informed him primly, letting his notations of what her dress would look like on the floor slide and slip away. There was no appropriate comment or response that she could make that wouldn’t make things worse.

She was always the one to draw the proverbial perfect line in the sand… And he always happily ruined it.

**

“You bloody think?”, the Red Queen returned to Aren with out missing a beat, her teeth clicking on the fork as she nearly bit through it. They were annoying… Narcissa didn’t like change. She didn’t like all these people invading her space whilst she was trying to hold a conversation. It was downright infuriating. “Whether it is or isn’t my thing isn’t the question…”

“Whether or not I feel the need to make a brief appearance in Chanel and make everyone else look like peasants…Now that would be a better question. It’s not mandatory from the witch.”
, the blond returned easily, without pausing…Emma demanded that she assist with decorations…Not going to happen, not in a million years. But would she blaze through just to spite the woman, and most of the student population? That answer was entirely different. “I live to make the inferior weep big baby b***h tears... Or did you forget?”

She narrowed her eyes when he mentioned the word ‘borrow’. She didn’t know the meaning of the term, unless it involved an expensive rental car. Loans from Narcissa’s closet to Kerrigan turned into gifts. “Your would-be date is a wretch. You have terrible taste in female company—Aside from myself that is.”

Silently her eyes swept over him, scanning the broadness of his shoulders—Knowing his height well. She had the uncanny ability to guess sizing to a frightening accuracy… There was no way, she would allow him to go to this event in something borrowed…It was just ghastly. He mentioned…Her not wanting to be a ‘high schooler’s’ date and she ignored it. True, had he asked her, she would have said no. But not for the reasons he thought. It was best to let him think she thought it was inane…

There was no need for him to know that she’d agonized silently over every detail of her own prom…Though she’d hated the actual event…The before and after had been memorable.

“You’ll do no such thing.”, she returned to Aren sharply, referring to him trying on one of Dom’s suits, her eyes narrowing with intent—Her foot just about to kick him in the shin under the table when Roland arrived. Talk about good timing, at least in Aren’s case. Her heels were wicked. So focused on what color might look best for a tie and vest on Tiny—She needed a moment to let Paladin’s words process.

Kerrigan said yes to going to a high school prom?

Well... Bollox.

“At least you bleed red…”, she muttered under her breath to Roland, thinking back to Kerrigan’s track record…The last beau she recalled had definitely been an Alpha. She glanced at Aren when he mentioned that she would need a tailor without him…He couldn’t be serious…Was he?

For a moment she said nothing as she tugged out her phone and flipped it to the side, starting to text rather rapidly.

“I’m sure something can be arranged…A moment if you will..”, she drawled, elegant brow furrowing for a moment as she read a few things. Just as quickly as she pulled out her phone, someone pressed a kiss to her cheek. She didn’t look up to see who it was…Didn’t need to. Lillian felt…Familiar, almost like she’d just kissed herself. How strange.

Were any other Alpha to try such a thing, they’d likely have been flayed alive. But just as all of her people were…They were special cases to her temper. Lillian skipped off before she could reply... Taking some of her power with her. Catching Aren’s remark about their earlier conversation, she smirked. “If she absorbs a shifters power—She could be.”

She shook her head at Aren as he left—His words about catching a kiss later seeming to go right through her.

“You couldn’t catch a kiss if you wanted to, Tiny—But you can catch the Syph—And I know you will, because I -know- you’re off to ask a Blue Blood!”, she returned efficiently, again without looking up at her phone.

Of course he was. That’s why he hadn’t mentioned –who- it was.

Smart boy.

She gestured to Roland—Looking over the top of her phone at him before she began typing rapidly again…Taking quick, general notes. She’d already sent a quick blurb to a few of her contacts… Now she would have to play the waiting game, to see who picked up her bid first on such short notice. But for what she was offering…There shouldn’t be a problem. “Sit, love.”

“Any preference on color?”
, she questioned after a moment, before she leaned back—Tossing her hair over her shoulder unthinkingly as her already cool expression seemed to chill by a few degrees. It was nothing personal…But she knew Roland less than she knew Aren…And she hadn’t quite forgotten about the incident earlier that year around Halloween…Or how, he’d used to look her on occasion, the way that one would view a ghost.

Nor had she forgotten his ways on the battlefield. Bloodthirsty...Not a bad trait, if properly controlled.

“You stew on that for a moment…” , her eyes fixed themselves on his as she smiled mirthlessly, almost innocently twirling a long strand of silken golden hair around her finger.

“Because there are rules, that we have to go over for taking my Kerrigan anywhere. All of which are summed up simply by this: If you make her unhappy in the slightest…I’ll set you on fire.”

One Simple Rule for Taking out her Kerri

User Image

He made a tentative nod at Aren as he made his way off. Based on Narcissa's reaction, he could gather he was off to ask an Alpha to prom. Glad to know he had enough smarts to not giver her further details. It puzzled him to why she hated the Alpha team so much, but to place that amount of energy towards that particular thought would be a waste of time. He needed a suit, and she could get one for him. Her eyes scanned him, taking some mental notes of his form. He had to admit, she had quite the business brain. She likely amassed a series of contacts over the years, fashion designers, jewelers, all kinds of people. After all, how the hell else could she have that many top of the line clothes from designers people could very well dream of? While wealth is always important, but there's one thing that can always help: connections. The more people you know, the more chances of being able to get favors and other options open to you. And with a woman like Narcissa, she likely had plenty.

Likely his boss wasn't too big a fan of him taking Kerrigan to the dance. Given his background, and his experiences on the battlefield, he could likely assume so. Also catching her saying something along the lines "At least...", alluding to him being better than others Kerrigan had been with. Not perfect, but somewhat better. Lillian offered her congratulations, and a pleasant kiss on Narcissa's face. It was weird seeing her as an Alpha, no longer and Omega, but he knew her all the same and would treat her with the same regard and pleasantness he offered to anyone he knew. She offered him a place to sit, and so he did so calmly. Part of the time, he had to wonder whether or not she was looking him over with the intention of eating him alive or not.

When asked about color, he replied calmly, "I was thinking of a traditional black and white. However, if you have any recommendations or desires regarding my attire I'll be happy to hear them." he offered her the opportunity to give what she thought on the subject, she was definitely far more of an expert on what color made more sense. The rule that she offered was quite simple: disappoint Kerrigan, and he'd be set ablaze. Fair enough.

"Of course, I understand completely. Why else would I come to you for taking out Kerrigan, your second in command, and very close friend? I'm out to show her a good time, and have a pleasant evening." he calmly responded to her ultimatum. If he was going to take a woman to an event, he figured it would make sense to ask a friend to help out. Seemed logical right?

Whether he was joking or not, Raine wouldn't be surprised to hear about people asking Feli to prom. Honestly, if no one asked her and she knew he still didn't have a date, she was considering asking him herself, though she had no idea if he would say yes or not. For some reason she had a hard time imagining him doing the whole prom "thing." Buying corsages and picking out a tie to match the color of someone's dress. The mere thought was enough to bring a smile to her lips, though she would say nothing about how it got there. At least he had confidence in himself - albeit this was sometimes his most annoying feature. But even Raine couldn't deny that he was cute, something that was constantly in the forefront of her mind when they hung out together. Why was it that she always got along so much better with cute Omega men than those on her own team? Maybe she just subconsciously wanted to elicit a fight between Cissa and herself some day - that would be the battle to end all battles. But, until that day, she just had to content herself with present company. That was something she could do.

Her cheeks flushed a familiar shade of pink when he called her out for looking at him when she thought he wasn't looking in the past, the brunette putting on a shocked face as she pressed one hand to her chest in apparent shock.

"I don't know what you're talking about. If I'm looking at you for anything, it is to express my disbelief at your inability to grasp the concept of basic organisms," she said with a chuckle. Of course, she was playing around with him. He was actually much smarter than she first gave him credit for, though he could stand to apply himself a little more. However, Raine knew more than to press him on that, as it was a moot point. He'd do what he wanted to do, and there was really nothing she could do to change that the majority of the time. It was one of the first things she realized about him when they had their first tutoring session - an incident that he would never let go. As he joked about it being a date, the brunette laughed once more, shaking her head.

"You know, I seem to remember you being the one to pay and everything, despite my attempts to. So, if anyone gave me that impression in the slightest, its your fault, Sir. And quit calling me that," she said with a soft glare, knowing that he was only called her "Brownie" to get another rise out of her. She'd not give him any other form of satisfaction in that department for the time being, though if he kept it up, she had a feeling they'd have to duke it out some day. The conversation then turned to his promotion to the Omegas, her hazel eyes sweeping over him as he implied that he still intended to hang out with her (or at least take advantage of her tutoring skills) despite their difference in teams. She smiled slightly, though it was not as wide as she was known for.

"Well, glad to know I'll still be graced with your presence from time to time." It'd be hard to judge her voice as anything but sincere, taking a seat where he indicated. He made a joke about her refusal to reveal her abilities the first time they met, the brunette tossing her head back slightly with laughter.

"If you think an extra leg is keeping me away from prom, and especially the dance floor, then you don't know me at all. And as far as admitting my powers, I never said it was hard. It was just way too good to keep you guessing and see those cute little wrinkles of frustration when I kept skirting the conversation."

The conversation turning to prom signalled an apparent change in her mood, smiling in gratitude when he said that he thought she was doing a good job avoiding the "prom mania" that was taking over some of their more weak-minded female counterparts. Of course, as he mentioned that he was planning on asking the omega leader, her eyebrows raised slightly, almost as if she were momentarily unsure of whether he was indeed kidding or not. Her head began to shake softly as he mentioned that the headmistress turned him down, a very funny mental image forming of that, knowingly fictitious, conversation.

"Oh, I had my suspicions," she said with a grin when he reaffirmed that he was just kidding about the whole situation, Raine running her fingers absentmindedly through the ends of her hair a smile forming over her features when he reaffirmed that she was useful around here after all. She shrugged softly when he mentioned that things had been quiet around here since their last mission, Raine personally enjoying the quiet. She wasn't sure she could say the same for him, but then again he could be hard to read. Either way, before she had a chance to say anything, a familiar voice caused her to perk up, twisting around in her chair to see Aren approaching them. She features slid into an involuntary smile, despite the gravity of the subject matter - it really was only a matter of time until their next disaster, but for now she was content to live in the moment.

Aren's gaze landed on her, Raine reflecting his smile as he began to speak. She felt the heat in her cheeks rising as it became ever clearer why he had apparently tracked her down, eventually ending in those words she'd been hoping to hear for weeks now.

"No, I don't have a date," she blurted out quickly, falling silent for a moment before she cleared her throat, gaze moving from the floor, where it has naturally fallen, back to the native-american before her.

"I mean, yea, I guess we could do that. You do owe me, after all." It was clear that she was trying to hide her excitement, the firefly sure that one would be able to see her heart pounding through her chest like in one of those annoying cartoons she watched when she was a kid. She realized she'd been keeping a breath held in, the brunette releasing it softly with a clearing of her throat. Girls had been following him around since they'd gotten back from their last mission, and she had to admit that she had gotten close to losing hope that he would ask her. But, patience was a virtue, and it all paid off in the end - now, she felt the need to go try on the dress she'd purchased to make sure it was indeed nice enough to be on Aren's arm. But, there would be time for that later - right now, she was still in present company, and that meant not sitting there, staring at Aren with a wide grin on her lips.

Say something!

"Well, now we just have to find Felix here a date. Have anyone in mind, Speedy?"

Name: Christian Spencer
Codename: Sidetrack
Team: Omega
Location: Outside
Current: Unexpected company

Pensive and lost in thought was about the most apt description that could be applied to Christian as he sat on the porch. While his thoughts were darting to and fro between various things that were eating at him, he kept his eyes focused straight ahead, watching the trees sway gently in the breeze. He could even see some birds flying about, even with as far away as the tree line was. What else could he mistake those for, a UFO? So wrapped up in his own thoughts, he had no idea that Isabella had approached the porch until it was she was standing on the steps a few feet away from him. He wondered to himself if she did that on purpose in an effort to not scare him away like a skittish deer.

"No offense, ma’am," Christian said, upon hearing her first comment, "But I think I’ve had enough time off." He was right when he said that, and hopefully she’d understand. He’d been laid up for too long since Creed skewered him and he was sorely chomping at the bit to get back to ‘work’ as it was. Even if he wasn’t exactly one hundred percent physically. He did however ignore her second remark about the Academy springing for a plane ticket home for him. She must not have known him too well, or about his abject fear of flying. If he was going to head home, it’d be on the road. Or by foot if need be. Never by flying, not again. The only reason he sucked it up when it came to flying to and from missions was because he knew those were extremely short excursions.

Her last comment, about the ticket being a one-way deal kind of stung a bit. Yes, he was having his issues he was dealing with mentally, but Christian knew or at least hoped he knew that he’d get out of it eventually. And if he didn’t, he knew exactly what he would do; pack up his things and hit the bricks. Something about this exchange though struck him as somewhat humorous. It was the fact that it was Isabella, the leader of the Alphas, talking with him… offer him a consoling word. It wasn’t his own team leader, nor was it any of his teammates. No, it was the Alpha’s songstress. Christian’s eyes shifted from watching the trees to looking at Isabella momentarily as she was standing on the steps. That was when it hit him; the only two people to go out of their way to visit him while he was laid up were her and Raine… both Alphas.

That fact only strengthened his disillusionment of this whole lifestyle. It was the fact that no one on his team seemed to give a rat’s a** if he was alive or dead. It was the fact that he never saw hide nor hair of Narcissa nor any of the other Omegas while he was laid up. All that was definitely showing him, or at least giving him the perception of where his standing with his squad was. But, to a point, that was his own fault. He never really had in depth conversations with anyone before, and with his own issues he was dealing with, there was no point in it now. Especially not if he decided he was going to give up on this life and leave the Institute.

Which was another thing that killed him; the one person he had gotten close to during his years at the academy wound up turning tail herself and had to go home. And he wasn’t mad at her about that at all, he couldn’t be. As much as he missed having her around, he knew she wasn’t cut out for this life herself. If anything, he just kind of wished he had the opportunity to at least say goodbye...

The expression on his face softened and yes, even a small smile formed on his features when Isabella spoke again. Apologizing for using her abilities on him? He did remember her visiting when he was first laid up, but he didn’t quite realize that she did as such.

"It’s fine, no worries, alright?," Christian said, "You did me a huge favor, and you know it. Between the pain and those dreams you mentioned, there was no way I was gettin’ any sleep." Little did anyone else save Christian and the Institute telepaths know that he was still plagued by those dreams, and probably would be for a spot of time. "If anythin’, I should thank you. And I do."

For as much as he had his own issues to deal with, he could see something in Isabella’s expression, something that was given away when he glanced at her previously. He couldn’t place it and wouldn’t press the issue, but… he could assuredly extend her the same courtesy she had given him. Without a second thought, Christian put his hands on the arms of the chair and pushed himself up to his feet. Then, after a few steps to his right, he found himself leaning up against the porch’s railing. Picking his gaze from the floor up to Isabella, he folded his arms across his chest and spoke up finally and not just in response to her comments.

"I ain’t the only one to think ‘bout takin’ some time off," Christian said somewhat quietly, knowing full well that Isabella would be able to hear him perfectly regardless. "If anythin’, you can at least take a seat and relax for a few minutes."

"Are you lost in your lies?
Do you tell yourself, 'I don't realize.'
Your crusade's a disguise.
Replaced freedom with fear,
You trade money for lives.
I'm aware of what you've done."

Felix gave Raine a look of amused as she flushed a shade of pink that was all too familiar and brought up memories of their first meeting. Naturally Raine looked shocked and even put her hand to her chest however it was too late for Felix to unsee her blush and therefore he saw through the ruse. As she shot back at him by calling out his intelligence in jest Felix put on an unamused expression. "The lady doth protest too much me thinks. Besides the organism thing was one time okay?" At the end a smile showed that he was joking along with her and didn't think anything of her calling out his intelligence.

She laughed at his joke of their first outing together being a date and she accused him of giving her such thoughts. "Well what else was I supposed to do with you kept giving me those 'come hither' looks. Besides you were too slow and I didn't want to wait for my food any longer. I was quite famished. I mean if you were any slower you would have been standing slow. Come to think of it I think you were slow on purpose. Why would I ever quit calling you brownie? It's a compliment brownies are delicious." Giving her a look of accusation after mentioning her being slow on purpose Felix waited to hear her defense with a slightly hidden smile.

With smile Raine spoke in a sincere tone as she mentioned being glad to be graced with his presence from time to time. Shrugging Felix leaned his head back and stared down his face at her as if suspicious by her lack of a joking tone. "Well I can't leave my fans completely without my presence. I have been told it renders people speechless after all. Fear not I will be sure to fail a couple of courses for you." While it certainly started as a joke by the time it was through Felix gave no indication if it was or not.

Listening to her laughter as she returned fire in their verbal joust concerning her initial refusal to reveal to him the nature of her power. "I figured an extra leg wouldn't stop you I just had hopes that your dance partner would not have you constantly stepping on his toes. Wait sorry his or her toes. I wouldn't want to be presumptuous after all." A raised eyebrow was his initial response to her mentioning him getting cute wrinkles of frustration. "Oh it must be like the way your cheeks get that cute shade of pink when you are flustered. Which now that I think about it is quite often around me. Any particular reason why?" Giving her an interested expression he awaited her response as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.

Returning the grin offered as Raine mentioning having her suspicions of his jest. So far considering he hadn't had much contact with those of the female persuasion on the teams Felix had considered asking Raine to the prom if he decided to go. He wasn't really sure if he wanted to go however as of yet. Prom really wasn't his thing after all. Still it definitely had it's perks. Like the constant barrage of eye candy for one.

The approaching form of someone he knew to be an Omega named Aren caused Felix to raise an eyebrow and watch him approach. It was obvious his destination was the table he was sharing with Raine and considering Felix hadn't met him officially it wasn't hard to realize who he was coming to see. Unless of course Narcissa was sending him to retrieve Felix for something he had done. However last Felix checked he had been a good boy so that was unlikely. As Aren arrived he decided to comment on the last bit Felix said concerning recent events. Putting on a mock look of relief Felix grinned.

"Thank god I don't think I could take much more of this peaceful interlude." Felix didn't try to hide the fact that his statement was oozing with sarcasm though he hoped Aren didn't take it the wrong way. "It probably has something to do with the fact that we are mutants. Which makes me self conscious and curious if that makes people think I am deformed." Falling silent as the conversation turned to Raine it was now clearer than ever the reason Aren was here. While he didn't particularly like being beaten to the punch he couldn't deny how obviously giddy Raine was. Smiling never leaving his face Felix watched in mild amusement as Raine practically tripped over herself to accept his invite to the prom.

Not at all wanting to be the one to break the borderline awkward conversation Felix just stared at the two waiting for one of them to say something. As Raine mentioned finding Felix a date he gave her an 'oh really' look. "I suppose we should get the obvious out of the way I am Felix and you are Aren it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Now then what do you think Aren? You already snagged Brownie here for yourself and I would prefer to keep completely intact so I think Isabella is off limits. So who would you suggest? Just know that if I am risking bodily harm for an Alpha she better be very attractive." He did extend his hand long enough to shake with Aren should the native choose to do so at his short introduction but he didn't move to get up. While he certainly wasn't going to let the two people before him pick his date as a fellow man with an obvious eye for beauty Felix was willing to consider Aren's suggestions.

OOC: A blah post.

I see liars and thieves,
Abused power with greed.
I had hope, I believed,
But I'm beginning to think that I've been deceived.
You will pay for what you've done."
