'Tis true! Never seen it...and I had a suitemate in college who was obsessed with that movie! (She is in love with David Bowie!) But it seems like whenever she was watching Labyrinth, I had either gone home for the weekend, or I had homework or a theater rehearsal or something else going on. So...I've never seen it! It's also usually half over on those rare occasions when I flip through the channels and see that it's actually on. So yeah. Twenty-six years old, and I've still never gotten to watch it. cry

Scott says that he sees it on all the time on satellite but I am never home when it is on. sad I really should just buy it!

Ok dumb question!? We have had some much brainstorming going on here, does/has anyone put together a general outline of all our ideas so far?
Feral, awesome ideas by the way! biggrin

I think we're just doing random brainstorming at the moment. We have time for it. 3nodding Plus, I'm juggling several Halloween projects, so I know I'll have more time after afterwards. I'm guessing a lot of people are the same way.
So, instead of scenery, here's something for everyone to consider: What will the hosts and co-hosts be? Will we be humans and monsters? What are some general rough plots that we might be able to build off of? Decorations are nice, but they're just minor details in the end. We need to start with the big picture.

I would like to explore that more! The idea of who/what our characters will be! biggrin I am totally braindead though so I can't even think...I would love to be one of the smaller/lesser fae...or something non-human...but anything will work for me! I guess that with the characters will also come the plot...or should I say that the other way around?

We might change around details about the characters later on, but we usually have a pretty good idea of who the characters are by the time we have the first draft of the plot.

Okay so here's my idea for possible characters....as we all now there are Good Dreams and then there are Nightmares. So we will have good characters and bad characters naturally.
For instance: Their was always a means of competition when it came to creating creatures and such for dreams The one (Lets just say Bad Guy A for now) was always making such things as menancing dragons, bloodthirsty trolls, and devilish imps. The other (Good Guy B) made more things of purity such as fairies and unicorns and the like. They have always butted heads in every aspect but mainly when it came to entertaining those who dream.
Recently there has presented itself the oppurtunity to obtain more dreamers....
and blah,blah, blah etc.
So I think we should all be different creatures of course some can look more human such as Jared is although he is the Goblin King and all his little henchies are well...a bit more grotesque until cast under the illusion in the ballroom scene. So maybe we are all creatures but our mask in truth is humanesque features?
Hmmm...but what kind of creatures should there be indeed? I like fairies and dragons, and big lumbering trolls....What does everyone else like?
I'll gladly be a groundskeeper of sorts in charge of beasties.
Maybe instead of creatures we should be kind of like hybrids of them...? So many ideas....

^^ Sorry to pop back up outta nowhere and explode forth with ideas again, but..... I gotta do it.....
To expand upon earlier ideas, we still need a main theme and plot for the room before even a map/cake can be planned out. We need a solid idea of WHAT we are doing before we can think of WHERE we are doing it. please guys and girls, KEEP IT SIMPLE for the rooms. The cast will be the main attraction really. I mean, if a house looks amazing, but the people inside hold no interest, who will enter?
I personally think since we are doing the fantasy thing, we can really play with our characters in a very unique and whimsical way. I would actually like to see some mule accounts to act as animated objects that interact with the guests. Insulting them, leasing, egging them on, tempting them, etc. A few imp masters would be cool. A tons of amusing and very wide range of personalities in the Rpers. I personally have one Rp that I control roughly sixty or so characters. Each has their very own life and attitude to them. I can play the good guy to the sadistic b*****d you hate to the bad guy you know you should hate but you still love for some reason.
Also, please. I wanna see some furries out there. Amazing critters they be.
NOW! Idea for location. I suggested this once, but I will do it again; I would like to do this entire room in the glass orbs that were Jareth's signature magical item in the movies. perhaps some corridors, but we need to keep the layout simple. Too much means tons of confusion and it gets overwhelming. I mean, on a personal level, would you rather have a well planned and thought out six rooms, or a very scattered and ill thought out ten floors? I would rather have a very good cast personally. Hell, give me ten mule accounts and I can be a one woman role-playing army. For I can even interact with myself for pages.
The general idea is keep it simple. Not huge ideas, just huge personalities. Sorry for rambling~! ^^'

Excellent ideas both Ink and Feral, I would love to explore both those areas a bit more. I am such a visual person that I really need to be able to see it, so I may try to sketch some stuff out...its fine and ok if they aren't what we are looking for but it might help us head in the right direction.

Once we get the main plot finished, we can have some room meetings! heart We had the best time in the Sloth room meetings last time, and we actually got quite a bit done. I guess I'm just talking, rambling, and stalling until then. lol

Let me put it this way; Provide me with at least ten mule accounts, and I can play all the animated items and a few random imps. I can give each one a very different personality and I am a lit to advanced lit Rper.

I can give each one a very different personality and I am a lit to advanced lit Rper. We'll have enough people, so you won't need all of those accounts. If you want to be an NPC also, I'm sure that would work as well. People who didn't make the fist cut for co-host usually end up doing NPC work unless a co-host leaves and they're upgraded. Then, people who come shortly before the ball begins who and who want a part usually get NPC jobs as well. 3nodding

The main plot is going to be finalized any day now, and then we can really focus on the room plot.
