Con: Learn to be not rude. I don't appreciate flak. Consider yourself lucky I'm not Jack, who when offended says piss off, and leaves you to be approved by another, less pissed off mod. It's approved. But remember. I don't take kindly to rudeness. I don't think I have that much patience anymore. Someone used it up.

This is by no means complete, but since this is my first time making a custom class, I would like to get some feedback on this portion of my Class before I continue onto the skills.

----------------------------

S oul Shadow Stalker - An Anima Specialty Class

User Image

History:
The Anima are a bloodline as reviled by mankind as they are feared. Since birth, every Anima knows what they are capable of, can sense the very essence of other beings, and hungers for it. While many Anima are slain before they can grow to be formidable, those who survive are always faced with a choice: disown their bloodline and attempt to live in harmony with those creatures that hate them, or embrace the great and terrible gifts they have been given. Should an Anima choose the latter, they might walk the path of a Soul Shadow Stalker, honing their hereditary skills until they have an extra-sensory perception of souls, while training incessantly to move silently through the shadows to track and kill their pray. Their Exodus weapons become more than just a tool, and grow to become an intrinsic part of their hunt. As they grow stronger, Soul Shadow Stalkers can even manipulate the darkness around them. Their strengths make them exemplary support characters but their usefulness in one-on-one melee combat is questionable, as is their ability to fight multiple targets at once.

Stats:
SPEED -Soul Shadow Stalkers spend their lives perfecting feats of speed and agility. An Adept of this class receives a +2 bonus to their Speed Stat. At the rank of Master, this bonus increases to +3. At the rank of Hero, this bonus increases to +4.
STRENGTH - Through exhaustive mental and physical training, a Soul Shadow Stalker's bond with his/her Exodus weapon grows beyond its normal capacity, making them even more dangerous when they wield it. Adepts of this class receive a +1 bonus to Strength when they wield their Exodus. At the rank of Master, this bonus increases to +3. This bonus is ONLY given when the Soul Shadow Hunter is actively using their Exodus.

Strengths:
- Soul Shadow Stalkers are arguably the finest trackers in the world, capable of smelling, seeing and marking a creature's very soul.
- Soul Shadow Stalkers become more powerful over time
- Soul Shadow Stalkers gain abilities to confuse, trap and incapacitate their quarry
- Soul Shadow Stalkers are masters of deception and stealth
- Soul Shadow Stalkers gain abilities to manipulate shadows and darkness, making their stealth abilities all the more formidable.
Weaknesses:
- Soul Shadow Stalkers cannot use Medium or Heavy armor
- Soul Shadow Stalkers rely heavily on their Exodus weapons, and this dependency can be exploited
- Soul Shadow Stalkers cannot use any weapon but their Exodus
- Soul Shadow Stalkers are fragile, and lack the constitution of many melee classes
- Soul Shadow Stalkers cannot use many of their abilities in well lit environments
- Soul Shadow Stalkers lack any form of long range attacks
- Soul Shadow Stalkers embrace their Anima Blood, and while their strengths grow, so does their weakness to the elements. Their Elemental weakness increases to 1,50

Learning Limits:
1 Hand to Hand Styles
Exodus Specialty Style

This seems like a redo of the Anima. lol
Anyway, before you get too far, start using the new Skeleton on the first pace. I replaced the original with it, cause it's cleaner.

Urban: It's a specialty class for Anima characters, which is why it seems so similar. I will reform what I have so far to the new skeleton. Given what I have so far, what are your thoughts? Have I done a decent job of balancing it, or do I need to take some additional steps?
PostPosted: Fri Aug 12, 2011 9:50 am

Urban, what qualifies as a Special Rule for a class? In this case, would that be the Strength Bonus when using their Exodus, Inability to use some skills in high light environments, or special modifiers for when they are stealthed? So far, that's the only thing I'm a little confused by.

Soul Shadow Stalker
[ Silent | Deceptive | Deadly ]

User Image

Description:
Soul Shadow Stalkers are the embodiment of everything that Humanity fears about an Anima. They are ruthless and cunning, leaving little to no room for mercy once they have marked a Soul for consumption. They are highly disciplined, be it by their own force of will or another Soul Shadow Stalker, and their cunning is reflected in their tactics and training. While a Soul Shadow Stalker is not inherently evil, as they must feed on Souls to survive, many turn to total darkness and begin to view Humans as no more than cattle whose only worth is the Soul inside of them. As such, they are an order that upholds secrecy to the utmost degree, and rarely display their skills in the presence of Humans unless they are in trusted company or are confident that those present will not survive their arrival.

Rules for the Soul Shadow Stalkers:

  • If a Soul Shadow Stalker attempts to use any shadow/darkness related ability in a well-lit environment, it costs twice as much energy.
  • If a Soul Shadow Stalker attempts to use any shadow/darkness related ability in a shadowless environment, it requires three times the energy and a d20 must be rolled. On a roll of 1-7, the ability fails as it is too bright to manifest.

• Put your weaknesses here.
  • Soul Shadow Stalkers cannot use Medium or Heavy armor
  • Soul Shadow Stalkers rely heavily on their Exodus weapons, and this dependency can be exploited
  • Soul Shadow Stalkers cannot use any weapon but their Exodus
  • Soul Shadow Stalkers are fragile, and lack the constitution of many melee classes
  • Soul Shadow Stalkers' shadow and darkness related abilities are impractical and difficult to use in well lit environments
  • Soul Shadow Stalkers lack any form of long range attacks
  • Soul Shadow Stalkers embrace their Anima Blood, and while their strengths grow, so does their weakness to the elements. Their Elemental weaknesses increase to 1.50, excluding their primary element.

Strengths:

  • Soul Shadow Stalkers are arguably the finest trackers in the world, capable of smelling, seeing and marking a creature's very soul.
  • Soul Shadow Stalkers become more powerful over time
  • Soul Shadow Stalkers gain abilities to confuse, trap and incapacitate their quarry

Honestly, I think it's early to make special classes for a certain Race.
But as it stands, they already get a boost from killing people. I don't think they should get a further boost like this. Nope. And with the fact you could start out with 10/10 if you plan it out good is crazy. So I think overall, this wouldn't make them any better, but would give them a better head start in killing.

Over all though, the idea isn't bad.
Yes, that is better.

Which boosts are you referring to? The Speed and Strength ones? I felt they might be a little high too... what if I drop them to +3 for speed and +1 for Strength, and get rid of the additional bonuses as they rank up?

As far as specialty classes for bloodlines go, you're the boss and I know what you mean, but an Anima really is a very fickle bloodline, and none of the classes I've read besides Mind Blader work well for them (and the other Anima character is already a mind blader). I'm making this class both for myself and anyone who might become an Anima in teh future, be that through killing Krayth or otherwise. Look at races like Anima Machinae and Draconians. There are classes that they can choose that give them major advantages when coupled with their bloodline. I'd like to be able to build on what I have, instead of choosing a class that limits an Anima in many respects.

Samurai
[ Honor | Duty | Courage ]

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

History:
A very honorable class of warriors as they know the duty of battle. Going head first without the fear of death, they will bring honor to whoever they serve or to their own men. Samurais were mostly protectors of may lords and ladies and always try to bring glory and honor to their army. Later on in life they themselves become lords and ladies, thinking that to rule is the greatest honor they could bring, but if they dishonored they must either find a way to gain it back or would sacrifice their own life to regain what honor they have left, it's their way of an dishonorable discharge. The favorite of all weapons were the famed katana, the long bow and the spear.

Description:
They are one of the fastest of classes, they can either wear heavy armor or light. The weapon they use mostly was the katana but in their arsenal they are also great with the long bow and the common spear. They also follow a code called Bushido which is Japanese of "Way of the Samurai" which all must obey. Some do not but this gives Samurais a meaning to hold their title. Their are 7 meanings of Bushido which are Rectitude (義 gi?), Courage (勇 yū?), Benevolence (仁 jin?), Respect (礼 rei?), Honesty (誠 makoto?), Honor (名誉 meiyo?) and Loyalty (忠義 chūgi?).

Rules for the Samurai:
-Your honor holds onto you, never dishonor.
-You are limited from range, the only range weapon you can use is the bow
-You must follow the Bushido way
-Never kill someone that is defenseless no matter what. It is very dishonorable.
-The only class that can master the Katana.

Stats: +1/+2

Weaknesses:
-Can only use the Bow for range
-Your honor can easily be used by others.
-Hand to Hand is limited
-

Strengths:

Remember these can make or break a bloodline.
