New LessonColorvariaFor the next lesson, class, you will be transfiguring the color of an object.
To do this, please look up the spell Colovaria.
For Homework, I would like you to write me on 12 inches of Parchment paper (one or two paragraphs) what Colovaria does, and then list 10 uses for the spell. Send it to me by owl (PM) Then, inclass, this is what you will be transfiguring: (Click on the link)
1st-2nd years:
A Quill from brown to a bright color of your choice.
- OR -
A gold water goblet from Gold to black or dark purple.
3rd-5th years:
A water goblet from Gold to black or dark purple.
- OR -
A mouse from White to any bright color you want.
6th-7th years:
A mouse from White to any bright color you want.
- OR -
Your own hair from what ever color it may be to the inverse of that color. Find about the color of your hair on that color wheel, then look for the color directly across from it. (So for example. If you look at the orange, and say your hair color is number 1 in that, you would change your hair color into the number 1 blue color.)
Choosing the second choice is the more difficult choice. If you complete the second choice for your grade level, you will recieve extra credit, and maybe even house points. Just a little incentive for you.
Also, completeing this task will allow you to take which ever toy you would like to take from the classroom.
This assignment, for the time being, has no due date. Thank you!

Gryffindor ((Sorry for not being here, I'm Headmistress Sing's mule and I've been busy with the musical XD )) Al strolled into the classroom, hoping not to be noticed, and slipped into an empty chair. She grinned at the Professor and started on transforming a brown quill to a color. Her mother, Lillian, had been helping her catch up when she needed to, since she had been feeling a bit off-color. ((Since your new, if you wanna check it out, you can read my main's profile, or mine and get the whole story about the whole ordeal with my mule being my daughter if you wanna biggrin )) She began prodding her quill with her wand, and it changed color to green...too bad she had been trying to make it turn blue...

(( Oh, that's fine. We actually had our performance of Annie just last weekend, from the 3rd to the 5th. Now it's all over... ; ^ ; ))
Annette smiled at the new classmate, happy she was atleast attempting to change her quill a new color. She walked over to the girl, and asked "Is there anything I can help you with? I would love to help you transfigure your quill if you would like help."

Ginelle looked at the new assignment, and smiled. They were actually going to start learning things! Ginelle walked into the class, picked up a water goblet, and took a seat next to Nathaniel. She didn't care who she sat next to, but she hoped that they didn't mind. She smiled and waved to him without really looking at him, then pulled out her wand. She studied the water goblet, thought about the spell. Colorvaria, she kept thinking. She didn't even know how to say it correctly. Maybe the professor would elaborate a bit more. Biting her lip, she looked at Nathaniel and asked "Do you know how to do this?" For once, she actually looked at the Hufflepuff. With hope, she would get an answer.

Annette walked over to Nathaniel and Ginelle. She smiled to Nathaniel, and said "Don't worry about anything. You look a little anxious. I'm sure you had good reasons for not being here." She smiled to him.
Then, she looked over to Ginny and saw that she was very hopelessly confused about the assignment. "Okay, so what you need to do is look up the spell Colovaria. Then, once you have done so, and you know the pronunciation, you can begin transfiguring your goblet." She smiled to her, then continued walking around the class.

 Amelia nodded. She didn’t start by pulling out her wand, but used her usual way of learning the spell. First the pronunciation. Keeping it silently, Amelia repeated the word until she had it correctly, then it came easily out of her mouth. Then she picked a color. Cerulean blue; it was one of her favorite colors, she filled her mind with that image, seeing it instead of black when she closed her eyes. Keeping her eyes closed, she recited the spell, ” Colorvaria “ When she opened them she realized her mistake; she’d turned the desk the bright blue! Blushing furiously, she anxiously tried again, this time trying to imagine the colors of the desk before. But it was more than one color originally: the top being a grainy fake wood, with the bottom black. She didn’t know how to do more than one color at a time.

Annette kept walking around the classroom, until she spotted Amelia's desk. She laughed lightly and came over to the desk. With a wave of the wand, and saying "Colovaria Ritorno," the desk returned to its original color. "With that spell, you can always change something back to its original state. You say the original spell, then you say Ritorno, and the transfiguration will undo itself. So, say you transfigure a note, and you don't like the way it looks, you say the spell, then Ritorno, and the paper will go back to normal. There are some things, though, that you cannot use them on. You'd know if you saw it." Annette smiled to Amelia and walked around the class some more. She was enjoying watching her class work on this spell. It was an interesting one. Then, she thought about Amelia's original question.
Annette walked back over to Amelia, and said "Yes, there are circumstances where you can use magic without your wand, but it is a very high and talented skill. I actually cannot use magic without my wand here. But, there is another circumstance... have you ever done something you didn't know how you did without your wand being around? When I was young, too young for my parents to explain magic to me, I was able to fly on a broom, and I could make the latch on my crib open. It's just little things like that which kids can do, with out knowing how." Annette winked encouragingly to Amelia, then again, started to walk around the classroom.

Amelia nodded, comprehending completely. There were lots of times she accidentally did magic that got her in trouble. Though most of the stuff she couldn't officially been blamed for, since it never made logical sense. Her dad would still have to teach her a lesson, but at school usually they had to let it slide out of pure confusion. Clearing her head again, she filled the color Cerulean in her mind once more, but this time with her eyes open she hit the feather when she cast it. A grin filled her face; the quill had immediately become her favorite.

Annette saw that Amelia successfully changed her quill to blue, and she marked it in her head. She would recieve full credit for that portion of the assignment. "Was that the color you were aiming for, Amelia?" She asked.

Ginelle stared at her Goblet. She heard the professor pronounce the spell, but she was afraid of getting it wrong. She focused on a color, and pointed her wand at the goblet. She was completely focused on the goblet, and the color Dark Purple. She kept her mind completely focused on the goblet, closing out the rest of the world. Then, she said "Colovaria!" Just like that, the goblet quickly changed color from a gold to a dark-purple. It was a little lighter than she was imagining, but that may be because she was thinking about a purple/pink color. It was still dark, though. That was all that mattered. She grinned with a proud feeling inside of her chest. She was happy about the change.

Amelia nodded eagerly, as it was the same color of the desk she'd mistakenly changed before. "Cerulean is my favorite color," she announced proudly, picking up the quill. Then with a brilliant idea, Amelia cast the spell again, once more Cerulean, but this time on her ink. Now she could start on her essay, in the very color she changed it to.

"Ah. You're very clever, Miss Frances." It reminded her of her days in Ravenclaw. She was a clever little girl, even as a first year. Annette was happy to know that Amelia was succeeding, and hoped that she didn't ever offend her again. "Just be sure I can read it, Amelia." Annette took a seat at her desk. When Ginelle transformed her Goblet, she smiled to her. Such a great student. All of these students are. Annette turned in her chair and studied the other side of the room. It needed to be decorated, but she would let the class do that in a few lessons. She thought that it would be another great transfiguration lesson. She, of course, would let the choose the decorations, because what fun would it be to decorate the class with boring teacher-approved decorations? No, if she knew her students, they would be wild about decorating with something fashionable. A grin came to her face at the thought of all of this. She was loivng being a teacher so far.

sneeking up on th mouse infront of her on her desk, she swisftly waves her want with a good tap on the back of the mouse and before it had a chance to run jacki jump on the word "Colovaria" and the mouse turns hot pink fleeing to the corner of the desk acting as if to jump but instead takes off for jackis trans fig. book.

Amelia next took the goblet, wanting to prove to herself that she could do both. Tapping it with her wand she spoke, "Colorvaria!" With a frown, she noticed it had darkened, but into a dark forest green. It was a lovely color, but she'd been hoping for black. Saying, "Ritorno" she tried again. After a third attempt, it turned black with ease. Raising her hand, she asked, "Professor Soul? Why is turning the goblet to black more difficult than turning a quill into a brighter color?" Maybe it was just her, but she remembered on her notes that it was labeled harder as well.

Amelia entered quietly, still in her cosplay outfit. Other than the hat being fairly heavy, the outfit was surprisingly comfortable. She liked the skirt, though it'd been ages since she worn one. She was nervous, but told herself that detention couldn't be so bad. At least she'd yet to be jeered at, though why she wasn't sure. Inhaling to gather up her courage, she looked around calling in a quiet voice, "Ma'am? You wanted me to meet you here?" She stepped tentatively into the classroom that she'd liked so much, as if it had suddenly become a place to fear.
