 Eve then steps into the room with a wary look on her face, "Are you alright Zephyr?" She questions as she thinks of the markings that were just on his back.

 Zephyr jumps violently, running into the wall, then slipping and falling on his back. He looks up sheepishly. "E-E-E-Eve! H-h-ow do you m-mean?"

Evelyn's eyes widened worriedly as she quickly made her way to him and knelt down, "Zephr! Are you alright?! I didn't mean to scare you." She sighs and points, "Your back had these really strange markings... Are you alright?" She repeats as she reaches forward, touching his head worriedly to check for any bumps he may have gotten.

Zephyr's countenance darkens. He sits up, not meetin her eyes. "S-so you saw... the mark..."

Evelyn frowned as his mood darkens, she was confused by his sudden change. 'What's wrong with him? Is it that bad?' She wonders. "Yeah... Is there something wrong? Should I have not seen it?" She tilts her head confused.

Zephyr keeps his gaze down. "And... you won't let it go without an explanation, huh?" He looks up, his eyes very tired again, almost dead. "It's a curse, Evelyn. A supposed blessing, but a curse in actuality."

Eve sits down in front of him curiously, "You don't have to explain if you don't want to. You're the master. Although I would prefer one..." She raises an eyebrow, "A curse?"

Zephyr sighs and goes through his story. How he and his squad went toe-to-toe with an archwizard, how they defeated him in the midst of performing forbidden magic, and, how he was caught in it. How he had been doomed to live his life, without piece of sleep, forever. "I may be human, but I'm no mere mortal anymore... I've tried in vain to create a cure. All I could do was acquire the materials to repeat the magic, but not reverse it."

Eve tilts her head confused, "But why reverse it? Thousands of people would kill to live forever..."

Zephyr now looks even more tired. "But I can't rest. The mad wizard's spell doesn't let me sleep. At all. Do you know how taxing that is on a mind? The spell right now is the only thing that is keeping me sane. I've lived a dozen lifetimes worth of years with the same mind. It... hurts..." He breaks down into sobs, feeling absolutely weak. He had never, ever told that to anyone, and... it felt terrible.

Eve's eyes soften as she wraps her arms around him comfortingly and rubs his back. "I'm sorry Zephyr, I should have pretended I didn't see it. I didn't mean to upset you... Please don't cry, we'll figure something out. I'll try to help you the best I can. Just don't be upset. Don't worry okay?"

He squeezes her back, crying into her shoulder. After a time, Zephyr calms down. He sighs and straightens up, wiping at his eyes. "S-sorry you had to see that..." He says quietly.

"It's alright," She whispers softly to him. "I doon't mind..." She smiles softly and kisses his cheek.

Zephyr smiles when she kisses him, and he wraps an arm around her waist and pulling her to him. "Well, I guess there's one more thing now that's keeping me sane, huh?" He kisses her full on the lips. "Thank you... Eve..."

Eve blushes lightly and nods, "You're welcome, Zephyr." She kind of liked how he used her petname instead of Evelyn. She smiles and wraps her arms around his neck, resting her head in the crook of it.
