"Yeah, I'm alright." Mitsu nodded as she stood back up with Shun's help. Once to her feet she held on to him since he would be taking her back to the other side. "Did you have any trouble?" She had seen him falter for a time but didn't know he had nearly slipped and fell in.

"Nothing too big," he answered, figuring it'd be best to leave out the fact he nearly fell into the water. There was no need to worry her any further. Once she was up, Shun wrapped his arms around Mitsu and in an instant they were on the other side of the water.
Letting out a breath, he loosened his hold on the girl and looked around to try and see where they should be heading exactly. They could follow the steam more easily now so there was that option. He just hoped there wouldn't be any other 'problem' spots that they'd have to cross.

The teleporting was weird when you were actually aware it was going to happen. Last time it had been a surprise to find herself somewhere else, but she had been in too much shock to really take it in. Now, she realized it left her with an odd feeling of motion sickness, though it only lasted for a second. Shaking her head a bit to clear it, Mitsu had a look around their new area. It didn't seem like they were close to any sort of exit yet but they could follow the stream a little easier now. "So, do you want to keep following the stream?"
Taking a step away from Shun she moved closer to the path beside the water, an odd odor hitting her nose. With the damp and musty smell of the cave it was hard to discern but it smelled like an animal or some sort, though Mitsu didn't immediately hear or see anything. Maybe something had passed through after seeking shelter?

"That's probably our best bet right now," nodded Shun as he looked at the stream. He walked along side her, opposite of the water. In general he didn't want to get too close to the edge in case he slipped at some point. The assassin wasn't really wanting to take a dip into that water anytime soon.
Having no heightened sense of smell, he wasn't aware that anything else was in the area or had been around here recently. And since he didn't see or hear anything that signified any sort of creature, he thought that the two of them were alone in this underground place. That didn't mean he had his guard down. There was no telling if they'd suddenly run into something after all.

As the cave opened up a little again, Mitsu noticed an odd sound off to the side, her eyes scanning the area. It sounded like rocks shifting about but nothing caught her immediate attention until she saw a pair of eyes shine from the darkness. "S...Shun..." Mitsu said softly, trying to get his attention quietly.
There wasn't much light for the creature in the cave to see but there was enough as whatever it was shuffled forward with a snarl. As it got closer the animal was a little easier to identify as a wolverine, a large male that was no doubt seventy pounds or more. Its appearance made it look a lot like a small bear as it came charging forward, teeth bared. It was either very unhappy that the two of them were there or it was hungry.
With a yelp of surprise Mitsu took a step back as the wolverine approached claws out and swiping at the two. It was far too late for her to realize she was next to the stream as her foot found the edge and slipped sending her into the icy water.

Shun had heard the shuffling as well, but it wasn't until Mitsu spoke that he saw the eyes in the distance. Narrowing his eyes, he reached into his pockets for his knives. Judging the snarl, this one was going to be aggressive, and it certainly seemed to be the case as it continued to approach them rather than retreat.
The assassin managed to avoid the first swipe and he lashed out to try and slash it across its face. However, his eyes widened as he saw his friend plummet into the freezing waters.
"MITSU!" he cried out. If the water was deep and she was somehow unable to pull herself back, he wouldn't be able to save her. This thought sent a bolt of fear and concern running through him as he stared at the water hoping she could resurface, momentarily forgetting about the aggressive beast nearby.

The first strike across had managed to hit, making a gash across the wolverine's nose and through its eye. The creature shrieked in agony bringing a paw up to rub at its face. It seemed to take it a moment to recompose its thoughts on what it had been doing but when it turned back to Shun there was a new found anger in the creature's remaining eye. With a snarl the wolverine lunged forward, claws reaching out to dig into Shun's calf to bring his leg closer to sink its teeth into his knee.
It seemed to take Mitsu a moment but she finally resurfaced taking a much needed breath as she came back up top. Struggling to stay afloat in the cold water with a now weighed down jacket, Mitsu clawed at the wall beside the stream, having moved to the opposite side. Once she found a grip she looked back at Shun with wide frightened eyes. "L-l-look out!" She stammered from the cold.

Seeing Mitsu come back, Shun was rather relieved, but she was on the other side of the stream. If anything happened now, he really wouldn't be able to do anything to help her. Hearing her warning, his mind snapped back onto the creature nearby and he began to move.
However, his movements came a little too late as he let out a cry of pain from feeling the claws slash against his left leg. Buckling a little, he gritted his teeth and stabbed down with both blades while the wolverine was still close, aiming for the area between its shoulder blades.

"S-Shun!" In a panic Mitsu wasn't sure what to do. Her fingers weakly clasped at what little surface she could grab, the cold already making her shake uncontrollably. There wasn't much of a ledge to grab hold of but she tried to pull herself up only managing to send her back into the water. Resurfacing yet again she grabbed hold of the first rock that she could and held on. The water was so cold it stung all over making her short of breath and numb.
Before the wolverine had a chance to sink its teeth into flesh, Shun managed to drive a blade into its back. Howling in pain it jerked away trying to escape the pain to only lunge forward again to strike at the same injured leg. While the shot was well aimed and the wound was bleeding the animal just wasn't willing to die just yet.

"Hang on Mitsu!" was all Shun was able to call out. He couldn't look back towards the girl with the wolverine on his hands so he only hoped she was faring alright back there. And with his mobility down, he couldn't move away all too quickly. The thought of teleporting to one of the previous recall points sprang to mind but that was some distance away from here. The creature could easily jump into the water and target Mitsu while he was trying to catch up.
The claws grazed against his leg, but it was enough to bring him down to one knee from the pain. With a shout, he lashed back out at the beast aiming to stab it right in the throat with one hand and into its ribcage with his other.

The wolverine let out a shriek but the sound was short lived as Shun sliced through its throat effectively silencing it. The shot to the ribcage seemed to be the final blow as the creature finally staggered in place before falling motionless on the cave floor.
"S-s-shun? A-a-are you okay?" Her teeth were chattering together as she tried to speak, the cold quickly sucking the heat from her body. She needed to get out of the water but her arms and legs didn't want to cooperate with her movements.

Letting out a breath as the creature fell still, Shun pulled his blades from its body before looking over towards Mitsu who was still in the water.
"Y-yeah... I'll be fine," he said between breaths. His leg was hurting a fair amount and he was going to need to take a look to see how bad the damage was. But his greater concern was the girl, "Mitsu... do you need help..? You need to get out of the water."
The assassin stared at the stream and gritted his teeth. Seeing how she had been underwater for awhile it meant that it was fairly deep. Trying to reach her to drag her out would be suicide on his part. The cold water no doubt was sapping her strength too and he really didn't want to see her die here...
With an idea forming he went on and removed his jacket and shirt, tossing them to the side. His shoes and socks also came off. He checked the ground quick to make sure his blood was already splattered there and there was no issues there. Then, grabbing a small pebble, he hissed as he pressed against one of his wounds briefly. Taking a breath he threw it as close to the girl as he could. Before the little pebble could hit the water, he teleported to its location and dropped down into the steam next to her, reaching out to try and grab her while he was at it.

"I..I know," Mitsu stammered trying her best to move. She tried to move away from the wall to swim across but only managed to sink forcing her to move back to grab the wall for dear life. Taking a few deep breaths she tried to focus on Shun again but he was...."W...what are you doing? S-s-shun you can't swim. It's deep." At least she remembered.
She was about to tell him to stay, that she would try to swim over again but he was suddenly at her side in the blink of an eye, arms wrapping around her. "S-Shun?!" Her heart was pounding now, eyes wide. The only thought that managed to go through her head was that she couldn't let him drown.

The water was freezing cold and the sudden shock of diving into it practically stunned the guy for a moment. However, he was determined to get Mitsu out of there. He had at least taken a deep breath before plummeting into the chill stream, which gave him some time. Shun lunged himself towards the girl to the best of his ability but he was sinking pretty quickly.
He managed to grab a part of her jacket though, which he used to pull them close to one another. As swiftly as he could, he wrapped his arms around her and teleported them both back to land.

In a flash they were back on dry land and Mitsu couldn't help but collapse from the cold, her body trembling all over. Wrapping her arms around herself she looked at Shun. "A-a-a-are you okay?" Even from the short exposure to the cold water her lips were turning blue, her face going pale as her body moved violently trying to warm up to no avail.
