Currently: Back from a successful tour with Darkhope, Aurora has used all her clout to get the band and studio to set up in Phonyland while the band writes and record their new album. This is to the chagrin of much of her label and band mates, but they want to keep Aurora happy, and maybe the quieter pace of a smaller town will help everyone.

Aurora Light's special talent is sculpting with ice and snow. As a filly, she was enchanted by ice and snow. The way it glittered in the air, the sounds as it crunched under her hooves and how it felt tickling her wings and fur. One day while playing in the snow, a young colt showed her how you could roll snow into a ball. In this small act, Aurora found purpose. She began rolling balls, and soon was making snow men, then ice phony, then snow and ice imitations of classic works of art. Soon she was creating her own art, fantastic pieces made in snow and ice that sparkled in the day and at night were lit up with colored lights.
Much to Aurora's eternal frustration, she cannot seem to get her mind around sculpting with different materials other then ice and snow. Solid materials like stone and marble are very difficult for her, as she cannot finesse and shape it with her hooves. Clay and other softer stuff are easier to work with and to shape, but require a lot of upkeep during the sculpting phase to keep from cracking, breaking, or becoming ruined. Aurora isn't sure if this is a natural limitation to her talent or if it's something she has to keep practicing at to get better.

Darkhope Not long after Aurora became old enough, she was singing Christmas songs softly to herself, (Carol of the Bells, her favorite, she recalled in a interview later.) when a large draft stallion happened by and was enchanted by her singing. "I was so dubious! A strange draft suddenly asking me to come to his home and sing a song he wrote, isn't that how Law & Order episodes start?" ~ Aurora Light After meeting in a less worrisome place, the draft, who was named Steel Rift convinced Aurora to sing his song in the same way she'd been singing the Christmas carol. To her voice, Steel Rift added in his dark, heavy metal music, and in that moment, Darkhope was born. Referred to as "operatic metal", Darkhope has made a small splash in several music genres. Backed by a full orchestra and choir, as well as their own instruments, Darkhope has achieved a sound that ranges from dark, gothic love songs to heavy rock anthems. Aurora is their lead vocalist, though Rift often sings as well, his heavy, growling voice finding amazing harmony with Aurora's beautiful voice. While not mainstream, Darkhope's fans are loyal and eager for more music. Their first album is selling well and a short concert tour sold out. It is after a lot of urging and pleading from Aurora that the band and the label have come to Phonyland to start work on their sophomore record. "If you can do what you love and make money doing that, it's the best thing in the world. If you can't however, try to love what you do, and do what you love as often as you can. I can't make much money doing what I love to do. No one will pay a lot of money for art that will melt away at the first strong sunbeam. But, I love Darkhope, I love the music and I love the audience response. I love what I do and I'm lucky to be doing it." ~ Aurora Light OOC Details: Darkhope is based on the band Nightwish and so most music or lyrics sung or referred to in any of her rps are songs from Nightwish and will be linked back to videos of songs. Aurora's home can be considered unusual for Phonyland. Tall but small with a open floor plan, there is plenty of room for the flutter phony to live and fly around in. Situated downtown near shops, it's idealy located to do any shopping or soicalizing, but not much in the way of entertaining. It is a home built for only one flutter phony to live in. Anything larger would require moving house. Aurora doesn't seem to mind this, as she considers her home her sanctuary from the rest of Phonyland and the outside world. "I really love all the space in my home, it lets me keep my wings stretched out. I have art all over my walls and at the top is my bed. It's a hammock! A huge, quilted hammock full of all kinds of pillows and blankets, it's really very comfortable! I think that the other phony might find my home quite small and claustrophobic, but I love it." ~ Aurora Light

In The Mountains
Aurora, like other crowned Phony doesn't really talk about or acknowledge her royalty. If pressed she talks about a place in the icey mountains where Flutters orginate in very loose terms. The only difference is that Aurora is technically a queen while her sister Sweet Surprise is the princess. No one really talks about how Maple Taffy fits in.
